The staff is friendly and helpful. The gym is clean and well equipped, and spread out enough that I can get a workout in no matter how busy the place is. We have children and the child care is very efficient and feels very secure.

Couldnt be happier to be a member of this facility. The staff all around are wonderful from the ones who greet you to the ones watching your children. Everyone is wearing masks at the facility and the gym has been updated very well to allow for social distancing. My kids attend daycare while I workout and they always hate leaving because they have so much fun there with the staff. Even children in the play area wear masks. Just a wonderful community to be a part of!

Very ableist. I didnt ask for my physical problems. During my time there I was bullied for the way I swim, called all kinds of names, only to have management do nothing about it.

I moved here in June and needed my son to attend some sort of care during the summer. My son is full of energy and constantly has to be on the go. My first choice was the Y and I am so happy with the choice I made. My son would come home and crash because he was so tired (i loved that, haha) It is exactly what we needed and affordable!!!!! They attended the waterpark weekly.

So thrilled and grateful our child got to return to camp this summer despite the challenges related to COVID19. Not only did the staff keep the kids safe, they helped the kids foster friendships that will last throughout childhood, provided enriching programs and gave the kids a place to have fun and break free from the pressures of the pandemic. What a boost for these kids mental health!! This was our 4th summer at NE YMCA Summer Camp and we’ll be back next year for sure!

The facilities are really nice and kept very clean. The staff is wonderfully helpful and polite. They offer lots of classes and other services. The only problem is the HVAC system. The temperature changes are wild. Especially in the pool area. Some days you melt some days you freeze. And the humidity level in the workout area and locker rooms is pretty high.

Has been brought to my attention by family, families, and employees at this location that this branch was informed of a active COVID-19 case Thursday July 2nd. The branch did not inform members or employees of the confirmed case and is still operating at normal operations. This location specifically is one of the highest volume locations in the city of Louisville and is the flagship branch. There are very large numbers of elderly and children that come into the facility daily

Drove by this YMCA yesterday afternoon and I couldnt believe what I saw. I had to slow down my car and do a double take due to the sheer amount of people enjoying themselves at the pool.During this COVID-19 pandemic, I wouldnt be surprised if this becomes a super-spreading event. Please stay vigilant and respect others through social distancing and wearing a mask. Unfortunately, you cant wear an effective mask if youre jumping in and out of the pool.

It has been brought to my attention by family and friends and people I know that work for this particular location that they have had cases of COVID19. The higher ups and management have not told employees or members that information. Not only is this unfair but it is not safe. I know that this location has quite a handful of elderly members who workout there and use the pool on a daily basis. and large numbers of kids in the summer camp there as well. This is not safe! Sad news to hear about the Y.

It has been brought to my attention that this particular facility has had a cause of Covid 19 recently and has not made anyone aware of it. I will no longer be a member after 10+ years. That’s sad that I was informed by another member of this and no one from management has said anything about it.

Ive Ben paying my does during the whole time the gym has Ben closed to support them know that they have oppend I still am not going to be able to come because they wont start the water aerobics classes. Cant use machine because of bad knees if they have an instructor you could have a lot of small classes and have people stay six feet apart .you are hurting the older people who need to exercise for our health Im very sorry I support them when they are not supporting the older people who need to be thiet

I wish I could give 0 starts for this location. We signed our 6 year old up for camp here. We spoke to 3 different people there all telling us that their location is the only one that does part day camp outside and the other inside. My son has been using a portapotty outside and pretty much has hand sanitizer that is being used to wash with. I am appalled that they are charging a fee of $180 a week( non members) my son has son poisoning due to staff not properly applying the sun screen that parents are to provide. I purchased a full bottle prior to camp and it is virtually empty. My son informed me that the camp staff has been using it on other children. Frankly I believe him because we use a can for our family of 3 and it lasts us all summer. I’ve now called several directors Jacob, Darcy and spoke to someone named April, I believe that was her name today. Jacob was supposed to return my call at 5:00, I then called at 6:30 and was told he’d call me back in 30 minutes. It is now 9:30 and still no call. I’ve also left a voicemail with someone at an executive level, and she too has no sense of urgency to call me back either. This camp is a joke. You’ve had from the beginning of the year to plan activities. Now I understand the shutdown don’t get me wrong here however there is nothing constructive happening here. My kid does not like it one bit, when asked what they do he tells us not much that their really aren’t any fun things being provided. So for $180 a week I get a kid that now has a sunburn from hell is in pain, and their version of crafts is bringing home popsicle sticks with smiley faces, so crumpled up tissue paper and a brown paper bag that had drawings on it. I addressed the burn along with my son having to change his wet clothing in the portapotty and also asked why the children are not provided water and soap to wash their hands. The response I got from one of the female camp directors outside on Tuesday morning was that the members utilizing the indoor space didn’t appreciate the children coming inside to use the restrooms. This has got to be the worst camp to date. Nothing thought through and kids are sitting alone at pick up. 3 camp staff members called for my child to whom ever was put in the grassy area, they looked right at my son who was pretty much not being watched and turned right back around to not doing much of anything. I then had to get out of my vehicle and walk up to where he sees me and then he came up. I think that after being cooped up at home for the last several months that the YMCA would have worked a little bit harder to provide these kids with a fun experience. Instead my child comes home at night upset and exhausted from doing nothing but sitting out in the heat all day. I will surely be addressing this with corporate headquarters. You should be ashamed for charging hardworking parents these outrageous fees. He will not be returning and we certainly will not be doing a membership. So sad since it’s a nice facility.

I was a member for quite a few years. I lost my job, called and asked if they would delay the auto pay a few days. They assured me that they would take care of this. They didnt!! I decided to cancel my membership. I went in and canceled per the rules in advance. Today my bank account was charged the monthly payment. I called and was told that I would be receiving my $$ in 3-5 days. I was not given an explanation, I didnt receive an apology or any empathy for the issues this transaction is going to cause me due to my employment issue currently. I had considered joining again when I started to work again but I wont be doing that ☹️

Well I wont be back to this facility despite enjoying my works outs. Child care staff showed little empathy for my 4 year old requesting help in the bathroom. Instead they followed policy by refusing to help her and let her spend the rest of her time in their care with poop on her skin. She was too embarrassed to play and was confused as to why they wouldnt help. Serious lapse in judgement.... consider changing your policy to call a parent for assistance in this scenario.

The facilities are very nice, and the range of classes are great. My big disappointment is with the toddler/baby childcare. Its nice for me to work out, but its important that my baby have a good experience too. There are often so many children in a very cramped space. They should expand the baby room! Several times Ive come to find my baby screaming while the workers looked annoyed and dissinterested. I stopped going to this loaction for that reason. The Middletown Y down the road has AMAZING childcare. They do story time and crafts, and the workers are cheerful and confident. Ive never returned to my baby screaming at the Middletown Y. They also have plenty of space for this kids to do different activities.

The Y has changed its policy on grandparents coming to Calypso Cove with the grandkids. It now costs $20 PER MONTH EXTRA for them or a baby sitter to come with a full member. It used to be free. Booooo on them for taking away another option for working patents. Its getting to be not worth paying for tge membership.
