I have been a member for years. Great gym that is in danger of being shut down due to ignoring the need for members to wear masks while in the gym. This is a shame and should be addressed by management NOW!I visited the gym again today and talked directly to one of the Managers about members not wearing masks and I was advised that they could do nothing about it because trying to enforce the rules was leading to fights and they were not willing to start any fights over the enforcement of the rules. I was then told that if I was not happy with their approach to this issue I should look for another gym.

If you play racquetball, don’t count on the courts here being playable during certain times of the year. The heat and AC in the courts are completely disregarded by upper management. This results in so much humidity during the summer, there is actually moisture on the floors and walls to the point it’s unsafe and extremely slippery.Multiple complaints to the management resulted in a temporary fix two years ago which lasted for about 3 days but since then there has been nothing but excuses.

I just go for dance classes. Some of the muscle-bound narcissists are a little frightening, but its a clean, well-lit, well-maintained facility.

People constantly walking around without masks or with the mask under the nose ( hmm dont they realize sneezing bacteria is part of the reason you wear a mask). Machines needing repair. One attendant at night. Incredible.

Cancel my membership during the pandemic period and just recently got a call from collection that I owed 4 months of membership from them that i already cancelled. Who went to the gym during Feb through June? GM name John was not helpful. hung up the phone on me. F this place.

My kids love the kids club and the workers know my girls well. My kiddo loves to use the toddler sized bathroom and even washes her hands on her own thanks to the sink and hand dryer being at a toddlers height. The locker rooms are always clean and this locations bathroom is bigger than J.towns.The gym is laid out a lot differently than J.towns LAC, but once you have the layout down, its fine. The crossfit area is a lot smaller compared to J.town, but it does have a basketball court. We wish the J.town kept their basketball court. Its definitely a hit here.

Great gym, gets pretty busy sometimes but aside from that, awesome place to workout.

Not a bad gym. They have plenty of different types of cardio and weight machines. The most popular seems to be the stair climber and they only have 3 of them. Some people will stay on there for over 30 mins which makes it hard to get a chance to use them depending on the time of day you go. They only have one rower too. They have a 30 minute circuit area upstairs and really hate when its not used for that. Someone will be on one of the strength machines for and extended period of time instead of using the machines like the 30 minute circuit is intended for.

Best gym Ive ever belonged to. Clean, well staffed, fellow gym goers are respectful and serious.

More crowded than the jtown counterpart. Has a younger client base. Still a wonderful gym. I recommend the jtown one because it is bigger.

Best gym in the city, no cap 💯

Absolutely horrible business experience with this gym. Canceled my membership in August 2020 and have still been getting billed. I worked with John who is part of the management team, who in August told me I could cancel over the phone due to fact I couldnt come in. When I asked how they could remedy the 4 months of paying and not using the gym he was very short with me and unprofessional offering no help. I will not be using this gym ever again and anyone who is looking for a gym should look elsewhere as Louisville has plenty of better options for the price and overall experience.

I love working out here for their extensive inventory of equipment and their proximity to our home. Ive been to other places, but never really liked them as much. I would give it a full 5 stars, but I think they could keep this place a little cleaner. The only thing this place is missing is a pool, but Ill survive.

I love this gym. Even at peak times it never feels over crowded. The cardio theater is great they show different movies every day. The group classes are great. Group power is my favorite. Im not one to lift weights by myself or use machines. It allows me to do that and feel confident that Im doing the moves correctly. They change up the class routine every 3 or 4 months so you dont get bored.

Ive been going to this LAC for a few years. Theyre always very nice and willing to help. I often see someone cleaning at all times of the day so it never feels unkempt. They have a great selection of free weights and have at least 2 of every machine.

I have been a longtime customer of the gym off and on when Im back in my hometown. Recently, I was moving out of state. A membership employee assured me twice that he had cancelled my membership. I found out a month and a half later that he had not when I checked my bank statement. I contacted the same person to cancel the membership, he said he would handle it, but he did not. I got billed for a third month.I then spoke with the general manager, and he said they would cancel the membership and refund me for three months, but they only refunded two. I tried to resolve the issue with corporate, but they would not refund for March. So I now have to take other measures outside of working with them. As I told corporate, I am not a charity for their incompetent and dishonest staff. Pretty awful way to treat a longtime customer.

Horrible service. Manager at Westport location has no skills with dealing with folks who have legitimate complaints. Terrible cancellation policy. Even if you haven’t used the facility for years and have never had any issues with nonpayment, you may not cancel your membership over phone. I called to do this when I closed my bank account I had used for auto deduction. I never got a call back after several attempts. And then my account was sent to collections. Several attempts to simply pay over the phone, to no avail. Treated like some sort of criminal when I went to the facility to pay. Wouldn’t ever use this facility.

Another gym bites the dusts

Most enjoyable especially the classes. But if you can go it alone, they have every piece of equipment you could want or need.

Very reasonably priced for such a nice gym. Lots of equipment, classes, etc. Has a play area for the kids on-site, which is fairly inexpensive, and the ladies that watch the kids are very nice and caring. The basketball gym has a fairly long wait time during peak hours.The worst thing about the gym IMO, which keeps me from posting 5 stars is what appears to be mold in the showers. It doesnt seem like the ventilation in the shower room is adequate, and the ceiling is always moist. This has been the case for at least 3 years now, so it doesnt seem like something that is a major concern for the management, or it is just too expensive to fix, and the management is just letting it slide.

Great machines. Staff not active on floor could be a benefit if they were. Some machines are out for long periods of time occasionally. Some members camp out on machines and text while working out. Staff refuses to get involved in addressing this.

Great place. Staff and trainers are wonderful and the equipment is myriad and the maintenance top notch. There are also many well-toned, beautiful women of all ages working out. Yippee, eye candy while you work out! What could be better?Joel Sundquist

First and foremost this club is great. A lot of cops workout in here so if you’re stupid and don’t have goals in life, stay out. Especially the drug dealers - which you’ll see. The machines are pretty much every option you can think of. The workout bar has some pretty good shakes and preworkout drinks. Good club for Louisville.

Great facility. Its clean and well-maintained. Staff is friendly. Big variety of equipment. A very positive environment for working out.

The gym is way too crowded in the afternoon and evenings. From the hours of 4pm to 9pm, Monday to Friday, good luck trying to use any equipment. No pool, no walking track, very small crossfit space. This is a decent gym if youre going to use it from about 5am to 8am, after that, too many people in too small a space. No advanced or high tech equipment of treadmills, none of the green curve treadmills at newer gyms today. The locker rooms could use renovation or expansion. The GM is a great guy, and Louisville is a city of high obesity so gyms seem to be a good business, but this gym is too small for the number of members it has, like I said, try going in the afternoon and you will see what i mean.

I appreciate all of the health precautions LAC initially instated due to COVID. However, these precautions mean nothing if they are not enforced. On numerous occasions, Ive seen members congregating (violating the 6 foot rule), members entering/exiting without masks, and members generally not following the mask policies outlined by the club.

Belonged to this gym for almost a decade. Moved to AL and still havent found a place like this anywhere. Super Special place

Equipment always broken, weights missing, scale never works, sometimes music is playing (rarely) and its either distorted or you can barely hear it. Why is the Taylorsville location so much better?! Fix this location!!!

They usually have the latest in exercise equipment. However the mens dressing room is small and always crowded. Half of the time the showers are, to some degree, in disrepair, and dispensers are always out of soap. Great place for exercising. Just go home to shower and change clothes.

Nice options for classes and extras like massages (extra fees) and Pilates (extra fees). They also have racquetball, which many dont. Would be my main gym if they had a pool.

Been going to this gym for the start of my 3rd week and I LOVE IT HERE. Very clean and friendly!

Been a member here for at least 15 years. Weights are weights, machines are machines BUT it would be nice to have some newer equipment, change things up a bit.

Pretty nice gym, I love fitness and they have every piece of equipment you could ask for. The gym atmosphere is pretty postive, and the gym rates are very reasonable.

We just had the most excruciating experience there trying to cancel our membership. When we first came in, the women up front were super nice and very helpful and everything was going just fine. However, the westport road manager on Sat 3/10/2018 at noon whos name is pronounced Tay shawn was unbearably rude after we disagreed with what he was saying about our cancellation. We have been trying to cancel for over a month which was 30 days notification for the company. He wanted to charge us yet another month even though we had already given notification that we wanted out. We called and we came in to cancel and sign the ending paperwork. We did not agree that we should be charged yet again but he continued to say that we were not listening to him when it was clear that he was not hearing that we had already notified them. He told us to get out and then said that we could call corporate and complain. I have never in my life been told to get out of a facility that I once loved. We both were made to feel like complete trash and that is not what we went in there for. This poorly skilled manager did not want to deal with the fact that we had a disagreement so he began to be disrespectful and just about physically kicked us out. I have never felt so embarrassed and upset at the same time. I loved this gym but now, even if we do decide to renew a gym membership, it will not be LAC. I could not believe the disregard shown to us today simply because of a misunderstanding and this persons poor listening skills. 1 star because I like the gym equipment and cardio room, but Tay Shawn does not need to be in the customer service dept at all after the complete disrespect and disregard he showed two customers who have been members for over 5 years. Thats quite a bit of money we have given them and then Tayshawn goes and treats customers like this. LAC needs better management with better customer service skills.

I went in to cancel my membership because I only use the cardio theater when I come in anyways because of how crowded it usually is. I called in a month prior and they told me I had to come in. I stopped payment because with your membership, you pay ahead and I didnt want to pay for another month. I go in and there are some very helpful, nice ladies in the front. When the older lady looked up my account, she looked at me like there was going to be a problem. They apparently tried to take my payment the day before and I had already put a stop to payment. I said I definitely dont want to pay for a month of not using your facility. I havent been here in 6 to 8 months as it is. She knew where I was coming from. She called someone to help. I ended up with a guy named Taeshawn that told me I was rude. He told me I was interrupting him trying to explain I owed them 35 dollars. I explained I heard him and listened and he told me I was being disrespectful. That is what the conversation went to. It was never about my account. It was about the fact he didnt want to deal with me and just wanted me to leave. At that point I told him again Im not paying for another month when I have tried to cancel more than once with them. I even started the conversation that there was nothing wrong with the facility. Just stated I do not come in anymore and havent for a long time. It ended with us being asked to leave because we were causing a problem. They got to a point they started to say something about my language after he started an argument with me. I pointed at the wall that shows that Superbad is playing in the cardio theater. They have no concern about language obviously. Again, he was name calling and told me I was being disrespectful. It was a terrible thing to be part of as people were coming and going. Its embarrassing to be having an argument with someone over a counter in public when all of it could have just been avoided. Eventually, a guy behind Taeshawn outright just said Get out. He was the same one that was telling me to watch my language. He came around the counter like he was going to get physical with me. I asked for Corporates number but they were too busy telling me Im a terrible customer to give it to me. They never wanted to help me. I waited on the guy in the red shirt to touch me or even get close because he acted like he was going to actually fight me. This was the worst customer experience I have ever had with anyone. I have never had to come to a point that I thought I was going to fight someone at a counter of any place in my life. Taeshawn was called to the front twice before someone went to go actually look for him. I do not believe the customer is always right. I dont but they are allowed to disagree. This time, it was Im going to tell him he is being disrespectful though he didnt attack me at all. He literally picked a fight with me not to help me. The fact he gets to speak to customers period is ridiculous. The guy following me out the door telling me to get out wouldnt dare say that to me if I wasnt walking out. If he was security, he was the worst. I turned around and confronted him and told him that telling me to get out as I was leaving was just the most ridiculous thing he could do. That just makes him look like he has some sort of power he doesnt have to tell me to do something I already was doing. He sat there quietly. I left. There should never be a time where anybody at an establishment that is respectable should act like they are going to fight you. The guy in the red shirt had nothing to say to me period. He wasnt even part of what was going on. He just put himself in the mix to act tough towards me but found he wasnt as tough as he acted. Acting tough is not a desirable trait in any place that has actual customers that come and go. The guy trying to act tough after I got mad that Taeshawn was namecalling is the only time I have ever felt attacked in a customer service environment. He created a problem and then told me Im a problem. Good work guys.

The facilities are generally up to date and in good condition but the staff at Westport Rd and Taylorsville Rd are aloof & the managers are completely unhelpful. Needed to cancel my membership after an unexpected move & was told that there was no way to do so because I didnt move 25 miles away. Most certainly will not renew with them.
