Horrible customer service. No one ever answers the phone. I called 6 times and was placed on hold for 30 plus minutes each time. I only wanted a mattress picked up. Finally, on the 7th try I spoke with someone. Fairly nice lady. Assured me they’d pick it up. Didn’t happen. I’ve called back and had to wait 49 mins to speak with a service rep. I was told it would be picked up on Wednesday. Nope ! Once again denied. Worst trash service ever.

Certainly the worst trash pickup company (maybe any company) I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The pickups are sporadic and often dont get addressed after calling them to report a missed pickup. I have been using a busted trash can without a lid for over a year since it got crushed by the truck. They are unable to replace it to this date and after seven (7) calls to them to replace it. As is typical, you call them and get a data entry clerk who is very nice, but clearly not effective. Either that, or the problems they report are being ignored by management which seems more likely after all the calls I have made.

With no prior notice, they hiked the price 36% in the middle of my prepaid billing cycle and sent me an invoice expecting me to pay the difference even though I had already paid for the year. Dont trust whatever rates they are advertising, it is a bait and switch, they will demand more money whenever they feel like. Im not sure what the point of prepaying was if they were just going to shake me down for more money. This is self-evidently abhorrent customer service.Update: I reached out to Republic per their response below and they never contacted me back, so their responses to reviews are nothing but theater to create the illusion that they care. Separately, I called the company and a representative essentially confirmed that shaking down customers for more money after they already prepaid for service was standard operating procedure. I have never seen a company do this before, they gave no notice, and considering many customers are enrolled in auto bill pay I think it is very fair to consider this a predatory, anti-consumer, and frankly borderline theft by deception. Until they change this policy, I would highly recommend you use one of their competitors and not reward a company who willfully engages in unethical business practices.

By far the worst company around. Terrible customer service. Careless drivers. And even worse management from the top down. They don’t actually recycle - they combine our recycling with trash and claim they have separate compartments on the truck but the video I sent to the EPA says otherwise. They skip pick ups and still take your money. You may have to pay a little more with Hometown, but trust me. It’s worth it.

Their customer service reps are nice. That’s it. Service is terrible and I’m constantly calling because my garbage or recycling hasn’t been picked up. They have no explanation why it hasn’t been picked up, tell me it’ll be picked up the next day, and it hasn’t. They just raised my rate and I’m tired of fighting for them to do the job.

We’ve been using republic for several years. Every quarter when we receive the bill there is a rate increase and an increase in all the BS fees. They never lower the fuel charge even when gas prices go down. We finally canceled and they are charging $60 plus $21 in fees to come and pick up two garbage cans.

February 2021 - After 9 months of service, I have dealt with AT LEAST one missed pickup each month. Typically this is for twice monthly recycling which means I go a month between pickups. After calling a CSR each time, they reschedule and 80% of the time, the truck never shows up.Ive paid $400 for services to date and have decided to cancel after they missed 2 of 3 recycling pickups in 2021. Ive been told Ill be charged $30 per container for cancellation with no response to my request for refund. That would amount to $120 which I will not be paying considering they have basically stolen hundreds of dollars from me at this point.If you can get trash service from any other provider, I advise you to LOOK ELSEWHERE. This company has been one miserable experience after another.November 2020 - Every single time I request something it is ignored by the drivers. It took three months and 6 calls to customer service to get one recycling bin. I’ve had yard waste pickup for a month and they have yet to pick it up (weekly pickup). After a 2 week wait on a recycling bin, I watched the truck drive up to my house WITH BINS and they did not drop one off. I’ve now been put on another wait of 2 more weeks. Any serious company would drive a bin to my house immediately after making this mistake. The drivers don’t work. The service reps don’t help. No matter the cost, I recommend going with another waste company.

They charge 35 dollar suspension fee if you are late which is crazy!! and every 3 months they keep raising up my bill I started at 35$ For 3 months to 55$ every 3 months, and to recycle there’s a fee too I’m sick of it!!

Have been a customer for 5 years and always pay my bills on time requested a bulk pick up for a love seat on a Tuesday. Love seat was never picked up was told it needed to be wrapped in plastic which I was never informed of when scheduling. Wrapped loveseat up in plastic and was guaranteed pick up on Friday. Watched Republic driver drive right past the couch, at 1130 contacted Republic who stated the driver had until 430 to make pick up. Called several more times due to the fact that it is a holiday weekend and was told it was escalated and we would receive a manager call back which we did not get. We were also told they would text us with an eta which we never received. Needless to say the loveseat still on our front lawn. Republic is awful!!! Do not use them!

Had to cancel recycling services because they continued to miss pickups. Id call repeatedly for both trash and recycling misses and they still wouldnt come. They hit my mailbox. Finally able to cancel because of moving and they did not process the cancelation or pick up my can. Id give a 0 if I could. They are cheap for a reason.

Absolutely the worst experience ever!!! Been trying for 3 weeks to get cans removed. Ive had 3 escalation tickets opened and the issue still isnt resolved. My landlord is holding my deposit hostage until you all pickup the cans! Angela Gatty with the local office phone just rings and no voice-mail. Customer service keeps giving me a bs line about them trying to contact me. I have ZERO missed calls from you all or anyone for that matter. If you have another choice for who to use for trash do not pick Republic. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and anyone else I can to get my deposit back!

Customer service reps always seem very pleasant however they can not cover for the services provided. Missed yard waste on the regular. Large bulky items take weeks of confirmation and missed pick ups to finally be complete. My advice is to look for a different service

We signed up for service at the beginning of May. Had no trouble paying ahead of time for services that have yet to come. We were told our trash can would be delivered the following Monday, which it was not. Each week thereafter, for the past 4 weeks, I have called and spoken to a customer service rep who “fixes the issue” and tells me a trash can will be delivered the following week. This has happened every single week for over a month now and STILL, no trash can.WHAT IS THE PROBLEM!? Maybe they have enough customers and another trash service would prefer our business instead.

They have missed 2 pickups and 2 missed pickups. They then charged me for bulk pickup items that were never set out for pickup due to the fact they couldn’t get the trash service correct. My bill totaled $195 with a $25 credit because they accepted some responsibility for missed trash pickup. The operational employees aka supervisors are combative and rude. On the other hand their customer service ladies have been very kind and helpful. There’s an issue from the “higher ups.” I do not recommend this company for dependable trash service.

We just recently moved to Louisville and Republic was our only choice due to an agreement with our HOA. From the very first day we moved in we have had nothing but issues. It has taken six weeks to get a can replaced, we have had multiple missed pick-ups and countless broken promises from customer service. At this point I feel like they are mocking me because they sound so sincere when we call and they have never done what they promised even once. I literally took a can out every day one week after a missed pick-up because They kept promising me they were going to come and pick it up. We have lived in five different states in the last 10 years and I have never dealt with a company this bad...they must be counting on their contractual agreements because after experiencing their lack of service and indifference to customer complaints anyone would look elsewhere. Use any other company besides this company! BEWARE!

I have had I have had be services for a little over a year now and so far I have scheduled several extra pickups due to the fact that they miss my pickup these cost me about $20 each and they have never came to pick up my trash when they say they will I always have to end up waiting till the next week to set it out on my regular scheduled day. Today they completely ignored my cans and picked up everyone else on my street I had my cans out the same time as everyone else there is no issue with billing they have have actually credit my account so much that now I barely pay a bill they say they cannot get my trash till next week again which I already knew would happen the problem I have with this is we have what is called turkey vultures in our neighborhood that pick apart are garbage the bags inside and make a complete mess now that my cans were not emptied my trash will overflow the birds will come and it will take me a long time to make them leave and these birds are huge they are about the size of a regular turkey I have explained this to Republic Services several times but yet I still pay them every month but they dont do the job theyre getting paid to do so now Im taking my business elsewhere and I really hope that they figure out the problem so no one else suffers like I have

THE WORST company I’ve ever dealt with, period! Been a customer for several years, paid bill by the year. I tried for 3 months to get a can as they tore the lid off of mine, I finally give up. Got my bill for this year and they had tacked on a substantial raise, so I called around and found a cheaper service. They told me there a 30 day cancellation policy, so, fine by me they owed me $18 credit anyway. Then 11/2 months later I get a bill saying I owed $30 for picking my can up, $9 fuel charge, and $5 for a late fee, and the best part is their can is still sitting at my house!!! They’ve NEVER been here! I’m calling my attorney to see how much per day I can charge them for a storage fee!!

The containers they provide are in horrible condition our is broken in two spots and in the year we have had this, it has been reported twice. I wish our hoa had a different vendor. So we called and asked what the deal was, they said they took it because it was a recycling can, not a regular can, even though theyve emptied this can for a freaking year!they reassured us they would deliver another regular can.They did, now there trying to charge us $33 to deliver a new can. What a ripoff.What kind of company tries to screw there own customers.

We’ve had this company for about 7 months now! And had nothing but bad experience. We paid up full for the year which was a welcome promo we got a quote for 197.56 then received the bill for 247.37 and paid it and received a 23 dollar bill they wouldn’t give us a reason on why we got a 23 dollar bill so they canceled us and we received and 35 dollar bill for disconnecting fee and we paid the 58 dollars then they said now we have to pay a reconnecting fee so before we can even get our cans picked up we have to pay a 25-35 fee. Should have done my homework before I hired them. $60 to deliver containers, $25 for initial start. $30 if I want to cancel. Rediculouse. I just moved over here and didnt know the trash can has to face a certain way and the lid has to be shut. They dont pickup boxes that are on top of the trash can or around the trash can. Called them and talked to several people with no resolution. Oh and the trash can that has trash in it. Still in it.... I asked them for a one time pick up because we just moved here and could not give me a straight answer. BEWARE

Republic is one of the most unethical, illogical and inefficient companies I’ve ever dealt with. Their policies are arbitrary and born out of an attempt to minimize effort to provide service. There is no motivation to provide satisfactory service because of the contractual agreements they have with neighborhoods. If there is any choice in trash service, chose someone else. If not, I encourage all to request a review with your HOA and investigate other options. Any alternative is superior.

Rip off company ! Long story short - had to move and cancel my service after having been a loyal paying customer for many years. They had been paid 3 months in advance and was only used 2 weeks out of the 3 months. I asked for a refund. No, they were going to ask me to pay even more for picking up my containers. I wrote to FL the Customer Exp Spist-Reputation Mgmt and had an answer right away. that was back on Aug. 23. I was promised a refund and as of November 3, I have never received another word or a refund from this company. They are certainly not customer oriented at all. If you werent going to send me a refund - why was I promised one several times. DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY !!!!!

I scheduled a bulk item pick up over a week ago. They did not pick it up at regular pick up. Called customer service and they said they would pick up the next Tuesday. No show on Tuesday. Called in and they said truck was having trouble (broke down) and would be there tomorrow. Next day- no show again. Called again and was told it would be next day. Next day - no show again. It has now sat on my curb over a week. Today is my regular pick up and it is still sitting there.

I would give less stars if possible. Their service is much less than desirable... after missing our cans twice, two consecutive weeks, I could only speak with rude and unconcerned customer service reps, and no one in daily operations to find a resolve. Our missed garbage sat on our curb for almost a week the second time. Cancelling service immediately, and pleased to pay your excessive 30$ can removal fee. It’ll be the best 30 dollars I’ve ever spent.

One star is for the price but it might cost you in the long run. Garbage was not picked up a couple of times. Said there was no disruption of service but charged me $35 late charge. Would only credit me half of the 35 fee back so essentially I paid 17.50 for nothing. Basically the whole neighborhood has them for a discount and it is hit or miss with getting their trash picked up.

I have to call about once a month for a missed pickup. Prices are competitive but the service is terrible. Close to just paying the extra few dollars and going with another company, so I can actually throw stuff away and not have to pile it while waiting for them to do their job. When they do pick up the trash, they make sure to sit the can in the road or with the lid wide open so it collects rain and snow. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Hot garbage. Pun intended. Our city switched to them and we had no choice. Their service is terrible. They leave cans all over the street. They only take the stuff in their can now, no yard waste pickup, no large item pickup, they spill stuff and it blows everywhere. Now I have to figure out where to take large items/tree limbs. Called their office. They don’t know either. They never call me back when escalating. These guys are terrible. I want our old trash company back.

Its irritating I cant give 0 stars.I honestly believe this company is only in business because some areas dont have the option to transfer their service to another company.Having recently moved, my neighborhood only has Republic as an option for garbage collection.After setting up service with Republic, my wife requested to setup auto-pay.The CS rep at Republic said that we could create our account online and setup autopay after we receive our first bill.1.5 months after setting up service we receive a notice in the mail that service may be suspended and we have an overdue balance and late fees.We contacted both the postal service and Republic, and were able to completely verify with the postal service that this was the first letter ever sent to the home.We offered that to Republic and they refused to remove the late fees.We continued to express to Republic that we cant pay a bill that isnt sent to us, but that wed be absolutely happy to pay it in full now, but wont be paying late fees that werent our fault.After HOURS of talking on the phone, multiple holds, and multiple employees we were told they would remove the fees and we could setup autopay.Fast forward a couple weeks and while weve paid our balance and service amount, we still have the late fees showing up on the account.We called again today to inquire about the fees we were already told would be removed and were back to square one with Republic saying they wont remove them...They wont remove fees, from the first month of service, with complete verifiable proof from the post office we never received the first bill...

Bought a home in green ridge estates. Set up trash pick up, asked them twice to drop off new can because the two that were left stunk and broken. Never came. Then sat an empty box with styrofoam in it by can for pick up. They left it sitting there. No extra effort and when I called received same zero care or effort. I do not recommend them al all.

HORRIBLE company to do business with. After years of being a loyal customer, I was forced to switch trash pickup companies due to zoning. Customer service treated me like a traitor, slapped on almost $100 worth of fees, and locked me out of my online account. A month later I received a letter stating that my account was severely past due and being sent to collections. This letter was the first notification of any past due balance on my account but stated that they had sent several written notices. I attempted to log in to my online account, again, and found my account had been completely deleted. Im shocked this company is still in business after the horrid way it chooses to treat customers. Avoid this awful company at all costs!

A one is generous in this case. They have times when they do NOT pick up and I too, like the posters before me either hear they are short staffed or that the driver said my trash was not out??? Always out the night before and that has never changed.There are times when they only dump half the garbage in the can ...not sure how they manage that one. I switched for the pricing and sure got what I paid for ! A whole lot of nothing.

I requested bulk pickup on their website and they sent a reply stating that I didnt supply enough information. They wanted to know the size of the box spring and mattress and said that I needed to call to give the information so I did. The costumer service rep put me on hold while she verified my account. That was the last I heard of her. What theyre doing is trying to make it more trouble than its worth in hopes that you seek another method of disposal. If I have to load that mattress up in my car it will be dropped off in their driveway.

Omg...... 7 missed pickups..... Not including the missed pickups for the missed pickups. I have a fine in my door from the city about garbage piling in my backyard.....i will not be paying that....... Missed on Wednesday, scheduled for Friday, missed again.... Now scheduled for Tuesday which is my regular pickup day..... Such a shady company.... Ill be contacting the city, the better business bureau and an attorney. Stay away from these people... Supposed to pay every three months, I get a new bill every month stating I owe money and I have to call and argue to get it fixed.

Wish I could give you a zero! I pay for 2 cans. 3 months ago one got stuck in the thing that picks it up and they were supposed to bring me another and never did. I ALWAYS tie up my bags and put them in the can and EVERY week the trash is thrown ALL OVER MY CURB AND YARD. They dont bother to pick up the mess they make! Your service and men are AWFUL! Horrible! Missed pick up Monday and when I called I was told they would have someone out by Wednesday. When I called Wednesday because no-one showed they said the truck broke down that day but would definitely have it picked up Friday. When no-one showed Friday from the recovery service I called again and was told it was a driver shortage and they offered to discount my service for the missed pick up. I refused and asked to speak with a supervisor and was told their driver could not access my cans nor two of my neighbors because of a white truck in the street? Apparently driver took picture of truck blocking the 27 wide street that made it impossible to get to trash. Stories, stories, stories with no resolution and no care to resolve after being lied to the first 3 times it is hard to believe anything they say. I should add that they did offer to pick up the extra garbage on the normal pick up day with no extra charge. Wow, how considerate and I should be so thankful. Maybe Ill let you know if they make it on Monday.

For starters I have never had such poor customer service EVER. Poor service and poor customer service. Period. I put out a trash can with a medium sized flattened cardboard box in front of it just so theyd HAVE to put it in the truck since ive had problems with them collecting it before. (They use the truck hook to pick up the cans) What did they do? Get out the truck, push it to the ground collect my trash and leave the cardboard box on the ground in my neighbors yard. I am switching services monday. Never again.

Horrible. Will leave trash laying in the street when trash happens to fall out when emptying and have the nerve to leave a note saying dont fill up the trash can. The time taken to tie a message on the trash can could have been used to pick up the trash that fell out. Thought that was what the trash can was for; to put trash in it. This place is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. From my experience I have been paying them for a year to pick up my trash, only to find out my city provides free pick up. I have tried to call customer service several times to fix the matter. They have lied and said they have been out to pick up my waste Containers (that have been sitting out by the road) only to keep charging us a removal fee. So not only have they taken our money for the past year, they continue to charge us removal fees when they never come to remove them. Did I mentioned an employee on one of the many conversations told me, “we don’t even service that area.” Thanks for taken my money for a year but never picking up the containers that you keep charging me for.

Worst trash collection services ever! Shepherdsville has recently switched to Republic Services to save a few pennies and it was NOT worth it.. Even if they offered FREE service I would pay to use a different collection service. Must use their specific cans, must have it a certain distance from the curb, lid must be completely closed and that means COMPLETELY, no items picked up that wont fit in the can with the lid closed! Who are they to dictate everything? We are the customers! I havent spoken to one resident in Shepherdsville that is happy with the change. Send letters to the city and complain folks, get them to change back!

3 times our recycling has not been picked up. 3 times I called and was told they would pickup on Monday. 3 times NO pickup on Monday!! The missed pickup usually doesnt come until the next regularly scheduled pickup so we spend most of the time with our containers in front of the house since there is no way to predict when they will come to get them. The customer service folks are clearly reading a script and no help. Look elsewhere.

I have had nothing but great customer service. Polite, professional and responsive when needed. My complaint is with the recycling pick up. They cant seem to pick up our recycling unless we call them and they make a special run. Cancelled the recycling service. Wonder if it is a driver issue. Otherwise no complaints.

For over a week, Ive been trying to get assistance for a fraudulent charge of a pickup of their extra can that they are charging me for. They are charging me a $9 pick up for one of their extra cans that the previous renter accepted.Perhaps I should have asked if there was a charge to pick up their own equipment, however the second garbage can is still in my driveway.No one will answer the phone and my local representative has not returned my calls or responded to the screenshot of the bill and the garbage can still at our home.I will be calling the local business authorities about the fraudulent charge... I do not want to continue working with the company that generates false bills and then not answer their phone.They still have their fourth of July message up todayI think that is a sign that the company is tanking.

Republic Services / Industrial Disposal raised my bill every cycle until I called. Then they try to match the new service. Essentially they raise rates until you until complain. When you call, the wait to speak with someone is long. They also added a fuel fee when fuel prices were high and never removed it after prices fell. They charged $22 to pick up the empty cans when I cancel service. My new company is 1/3 the price of Republic and they actually answered the phone. I highly recommend using a local company that depends on keeping customers happy.

Republic has zero customer service!! I started service with them the beginning of January the trash can was dropped off and I ever saw them again!! Trash was to be picked up on Friday’s for 3 WEEKS and 5 phone call later my trash is still sitting at the end of my driveway. Every time I called no one had any exclamation as to Way the trash was not collected and they would put in a missed pickup.. Well guess what nothing that’s what happened!! So I canceled the service so hopefully when they come to get there trash can they can take the trash with it. So if you would like good customer service and your trash pickup go somewhere else!!!!!!

No problem so far with customer service but waste management services are terrible. Trash cans and trash that fell out during pick left on street. This wasn’t a problem with the prior company. I will be writing our City Council in protest of the switch.

If you want terrible some service from a garbage company go with Republic. Theyll tell you what your service day is wont pick you up,you put a request in to have you picked up the next day for a Courtesy pick up. I didnt get picked up that day either. Then when you cancel service they want you to wait till the end of the freaking month before they decide to come pick up your can. What a joke of a f****** company.

When I first started with this place they made the mistake of not picking up my trash for the 1st month due to 1 employee not doing his job. The problem was corrected but now after they have been picking up my trash for this last past month or so, they missed picking it up again. I will most likely be going back to my past trash removal service since THEY never missed a single pick up in the 3-4 years I was with them!!

Worst trash services I have ever experienced. Refused to pick up trash unless it is bagged and no yard waste at all. The trash collector refused to pick up my cans because I had a stick in one cause it blew off during a weekend storm. They want additional fees for yard waste pick up, so we have to pay for waste service, recycling in which they make money off of, and yard waste pick up.

While they are good at pick up times, there customer service it complete and utter crap. I moved out of my place in June. I notified them that after June i would no longer need their services. They said that theyd make a note on my account and that June would be my last bill from them. Low and behold I get mail in August at my new place and was billed for 185 for the month of July!!! Really after my services were cancelled at the end of June? I didnt even live there in July at all the new tenets did. So when they say they are making a note on your account DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! This is just the current irritation from them the whole year I had service with them was terrible. Id rather throw lemon juice in my eyes then ever use them again.

They break the city ordinance laws and dont care about it. There is a noise ordinance that prevents them from banging the dumpsters around before 6a.m. but they come every morning around 4a.m. Their response when you call and complain is that they dont have to follow those laws.

Republic sucks. We switched to them because of their price, but their service stinks. Garbage cans almost always thrown down or i n street, garbage left in the bins, garbage not being picked up and today they didnt pick up one bin. Granted it was a different can, but our other garbage company never hesitated and picked it up everytime. When we called the company the lady my wife spoke to was really snotty, laughing at my wife and everything. GET IT TOGETHER REPUBLIC or you will lose us and alot of other customers due to lack of YOUR responsiblity and YOUR rudeness

We live in Harrisburg, NC and have used Republic Services for the past 21 years. On March 25, 2016, when our trash was emptied into the truck, the trash can lid went into the truck as well. Since then, we have tried to get a replacement to no avail. We were promised a resolution to this problem for the last 3 consecutive Fridays, but still no response. Since March 25th, we have taken our trash to the dump, because we cannot use our trash can without a lid. Since we remit payments to Louisville, KY, I thought perhaps you can help me resolve this problem. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.
