I cannot begin to express how helpful counseling has been with Cat Eleson. She has been wonderful in helping me to unpack my trauma and how it continues to take a role in my daily life/thoughts/belief systems. If you need to address trauma and/or process Cat will be the perfect therapist.

Peaceful Solutions Counseling has connected me with a fantastic therapist and a literally life-saving psychiatrist, both of whom have been my lifeline throughout this awful year, and have helped me deal with the anxiety I struggled with even before the pandemic. Truly, they are the best psych professionals Ive ever been treated by.But unfortunately, only a month after I first saw her, the wonderful psychiatrist left Peaceful Solutions due to circumstances she could not control, and opened her own practice. PSC had no other clinical psychiatrists, and didnt seem in a hurry to find a new one, which meant patients were left to their own devices as far as finding a new psychiatrist to continue their medication. Now—two years later—my therapist is doing the same thing: leaving to start her own practice. Luckily, both my psychiatrist and my therapist still accept my insurance at their new practices, and are located within a reasonable distance from my home...but I truly dont know what Id do if this werent the case. Id have two weeks to find a new therapist, and my world would be utterly upended—as if it hasnt been upended enough this year as it is.People often seek counseling because their life has already been turned upside down. But learning to trust a new therapist or clinician with your deepest darkest demons is difficult even in the most ideal circumstance. Finding the right one—as in, one who actually listens and treats you like an adult, not a child—is hard and time-consuming enough as it is. Learning to trust a new mental health professional takes time, too, and having to re-tell multiple strangers the same traumatic story multiple times until you find one you can trust is both financially & emotionally taxing, and traumatizing in itself.Peaceful Solutions deserves 5/5 stars for their ability to select and hire highly-competent mental health professionals. But I can only justify giving them 4/5 stars, mainly due to their inability to retain said highly-competent professionals, and because of the awful effects this sudden perceived abandonment can have on patients. Considering the fact that PSC treats children as well as adults, the potential trauma caused by receiving services from a practice with high employee turnover cannot be overstated. I do not know the precise reasons why my psych and therapist each left PSC two years apart, but the fact that they both left to start their own individual practices—no small task, especially given the current state of the economy—speaks volumes.I know employees sometimes leave their job for reasons their employer cannot control, but please—for the sake of future patients who may not be lucky enough to follow their therapist to another practice, as I was—try to retain your employees. They are all so talented, and I have referred so many friends to this wonderful practice. I hope, for their sake, that your new hires are as capable and caring as your former employees have been.Thank you for all you have done.
