We adopted 2 amazing bengals from Great Lakes Bengal Rescue, about a year apart. The staff (all volunteers, so I’ve been told) are thorough in their screening and placement process. They clearly have the cats’ best interest in mind. We HIGHLY recommend Great Lakes Bengal for families with a sincere interest in adding a Bengal to their family.

I called and hung up before speaking to anyone.. I received a call back 20 minutes later. After sending pictures as I was asked to do. I was told my cat was not a bengal. Then she sent me other adoption agencies to contact. I thought the referrals were nice jester.. I let her know that according to my veterinarian she is a bengal cat. I appreciate anyone who are lovingly carrying for cats.

Poor communication. Too many hoops to jump through.

When I called the lady was very rude and ask me why was I calling her house after 10 pm. How would I know this is a house number lady? Very unprofessional! Told me she couldn’t help and hung up.

The lady i talk to was very rude and didnt seem interested in helping me at all...yes you did answer the questions but at first i tried to describe my cat and you rudely interrupted me and almost yelled saying we dont have your cat 3 times before you would stop and listen to what i had to say ... yes you ended up not having my cat but my family and i are devistated that they sent our cat and wont give us information to where he is but thank you for being rude and making this even harder on us .. you acted as if i was trying to steal your cats when i just want my baby back .. thanks

Wasted almost 2 months with this organization. Back and forth emails, checking with my vet to ensure I’m a good pet owner, etc... but to no avail. They would return any phone calls, replied to emails in an e trembly delayed fashion, to eventually tell me that the cat we wanted was already taken. Terrible communication.

Website is extremely out of date. Organization doesn’t return phone calls or emails. And they gave the cat we had agreed to away to another family. Unbelievable, and not worth the crying children when you tell them this group lied to you.

Fostering since 2007.The entire process makes sense for adoption, and the adoption fee is so much less that going directly to a breeder. The fosters know their cats, and work hard to find the right home for each cats personality!

Great Lakes Bengal Rescue is a responsible organization, and as such, requires adopting families to jump through a few hoops to complete an adoption. This is to ensure these unique, high energy cats go to appropriate and safe homes. We found the perfect Bengal by working with GLBR.

They never returned phone calls or emails. This has been a horrendous process and a big disappointment to my entire family.
