Great case managers. Staff is kind and professional. Food is great, Showers and sleeping areas are clean and clients are very respectful. As an older gentleman with mobility and emotional issues, the staff was very understanding and very helpful. Doing their best to get the homeless into a place of their own.
Very nice and they have the right people to assist veterans who need help in all aspects of Life.
Learning to focus on whats important in life!
I lived here for 8 months, from May 28, 2010 to January 16, 2011 and I can tell you, its the best place for anyone to get help and get your core values prioritized. I thank God almighty and my risen Lord and savior Jesus Christ for the Volunteers of America because theyre truly performing a work of heart. I also lived there from May 11, 2014 to June 29, 2014, an additional 2 months. Most of the staff remembered me and are extremely kind, always helpful and extremely tolerant to their clients, who are now all Veterans. From the bottom of my heart, I cant thank you enough for all that youve done for me! Thank you VOA, The Rotary House and all staff that has worked there! You guys are the best! The Rotary House has every service and resource you may require. Like all things in life, its what you make of it. You can either sit and complain or utilize all thats available, get help and get on with your new and better life!
Nice place in program for housing takes a minute to get but it pays off in the long run.
VOALA does great things for veterans in appreciation of their services
Great staff, great resources if you choose to take advantage of the services they offer
Nice place. Staff is on top of their business 👏 👌
Great organizational but I got no help there went there twice or more then gave up.
This is a shelter for homeless male veterans only. However in the back is an outpatient drug rehabilitation program called Step 2 staffed by people who are very welcoming and dedicated. This program also offers anger management classes, and life skills classes including a cooking class every Friday at 10 am. It is often referred to as a second home by its participants. Classes are offered from 10 am to 6 pm most days.
I was helping out the community good place to sleep the homeless
Good location to start your life again with the help of a HIGHER POWER.
Unethical, arrogant/ignorant people employed here... The facility manager could not walk straight and she was slurring her words. People are using drugs/and the older tenants flash needles inside the building to intimidate the younger folks. Ex-cona live upstairs and they will easily hack your phone/laptop if you are using Wi-Fi.. Legitimate concerns were dismissed by Wilshire Veterans Affairs facility... They know what this place is all about and refuse to acknowledge... Do not expect any confidentiality there.. Unless you are a homeless drug user who doesnt want to change, stay far, far away from this place in the heard of downtown LAs skid row... I barely made it out of there after the west LA VA facility gave me a one way ticket there after seeking help with my excessive alcohol consumption/money management issues.. This place deserves to be shut down... Lots of shady stuff going on there... Beware. You have been warned......
The area is not condusive to the progressive world, and the sevices are for making 💰 money not prevention, mostly enableing very bad behavior!!!
I love this powerful program.if you have the courage too face your truth come here and do your internal work.forgive yourself.
Its better then the rescue mission.
