Andre Baker had me come in after I told him I had just came in and they told me they couldnt help me. He made it seem as if there was some type of aid my daughter and I could receive and when we got there it was the same story. No help. Once confronted about the smoke screen he put up. It was all attitude and back peddling. They just use your social to keep getting funds but help you none. They need to be closed down. And im pretty sure 211 knows about all of this but still gives you Hopics information as a helpful source. What a shame.

Whats the point of providing an email on the contact cards if you guys dont reply back? Went here for the rental assistance program, everything went alright and the case manager gave us a list of requirements needed to be eligible. I was given her contact info so I contact her later regarding our eligibility. I called and email several times and she never answers. Even of the receptionist told me that she never answers for some reason. But you guys do treat your own people better than others. What a SHAME.

I so much admire ppl that make this world a bit easier in hard times, especially when we need it the most. This Covid19, HAS not stopped ppl be a bit nice to others who feel helpless. NOW, I feel a bit more motivated, to make decisions during this Virus catastrophe. Thank you. SHARON! GOD BLESS YOU.

I am disabled and on dialysis and have section 8, I have been with hopics for 3 years, I have explained my situation to them so real times as to what I need help with, which is just locating and securing a place to live...you would think they would have resources that can help me. Although I do appreciate them letting me stay in a house for three years, its time for them to get on the ball. This is becoming ridiculous and now they are forcing me out.

This places is terrible. The workers there treat the people in need of help very very very very bad. The staff gives you the run around for the help you are requesting and you can never get hold of the case worker. They are very very very very under staff they need to hire more people and get training on how to treat human beings. The workers/staff act like there better then the people in need of help. You ask my option there attitudes and how they treat people is in need of help. Any person that has nothing would be glad to wake up to a job. And hoping staff takes that for granted.

On the road to being Homeless one never thinks it could happen, but it does and reality sets in and what really makes a person Greatful for the funding is that this agencie, Hopicks actually has all the resources that their piece of the funding can provide and they make sure that you know how, why how to not fall into this rut again .

Review №50

HOPICS is one of the absolute worse run organizations I have ever seen. They are great for warehousing clients and putting them in potentially dangerous shelters with mentally unstable people but they are horrible regarding help to attain long term solutions to end client homelessness especially for homeless families. The staff is horribly disrespectful and unprofessional. Mothers with infants and small children have been told to come in for appointments only to find when they get there that the person who scheduled the appointment isnt there for one reason or another. Clients are promised phone calls from HOPICS staff regarding placement for temporary or crisis housing and the staff never calls. Most of the staff are very phony and incompetent. They talk out of both sides of their necks. They are doing whatever it takes to keep themselves with jobs at the clients expense. The staff at HOPICS are professionals at one thing, giving people the run around! There are mothers who go there every day, all day for help only to be strung along and disappointed. Many of the contracted organizations have clients who are going hungry and who are out of options to get out of being homeless. HOPICS knows that many of these contractors who run their shelters are slacking in terms of the help and resources that they are being paid government funds and donor money to provide but they cover for them instead of helping the clients. The staff at HOPICS and many of the contracted organizations and agencies that work with them seem to be struggling. So if theyre struggling how can they possibly effectively assist anyone else? They cant and they have become 211s dumping ground for homeless people, particularly homeless minorities. Dont let the glowing reviews fool you. HOPICS and their contractors are out to help no one but themselves! Please if you are staying at any HOPICS contracted shelters, and they are not fulfilling their contractual obligation, contact LAHSA immediately!

I would like to know that this program works. Right now this programs looks like a revolving door. Grievance process jeopardize the clients safety. They place Homeless Women and children facilities that cause health problems. Id like to not be so cynical. I pray that they STOP misappropriating funds and much more. I want to believe that this Entity isnt a predator. Right now, I can say HOPICS has hurt me and my family more than they have helped. Im praying that the people who run HOPICS and ALL FUNDERS get to learn how much they are hurting the community. Veronica who runs Hopics should be subjected to what she is sending these families through. She isnt the only problem. The reverend who owns and runs the facilities for women and children who has made a good name for himself in the homeless community. He has a plethora of homeless facilities. These facilities are smoke, mirrors and revolving doors, lots of illusion of help. Ive been hurt, $500.00 stolen from me at the hands of staff. The people Hopics places these families in the care of program managers who are in the middle of their drug addiction. There are more than one that Ive seen. These facilities degrade you in front of your children and are non conducive to a productive mental health. Ive told hopics this. Why would they fix problems that are not problems for them? Ive had to remind staff several times that they are ONE paycheck away from being homeless like us. Hop off that high horse because you would HATE it if anyone treated you like how youre treating me right now. I am violated regularly by HOPICS and their sub contractors. I pray for you Veronica, close staff and your partnered staff who are doing our community poorly. You are hurting your very own community Our Community. Ive told your assistant this. I havent heard back from her or her staff after I asked to meet with them to discuss the issues at hand. You all should feel what you send these families through. You HOPICS, literally add insult and injury to being homeless. I say multiple prayers that Veronica will stop hurting our community with her negligence and ball dropping Entity. May THE GOOD LORD HIMSELF FIX THIS BROKEN SYSTEM AND ALL OF ITS REVOLVING DOORS. PROTECT THE FAMILIES THAT HAVE TO BE INSTITUTIONALIZED FOR BEING HOMELESS. Hopics is doing more bad than good. I pray that there are families who benefit and can handle the things thrown at themSandra Nunez.

Hopics could careless about you and your family in a safe environment! These houses are fester for local gangs and the unemployed. No rules in place what so ever! People who work cant sleep or even get in to your room because so many people are hanging in the living room or stair wells. The unemployed stay up alnite and party. Many of these kids dont go to school. People let who ever they want stay you Never knw who is in the house. Prostitute straight out the house. When hopics do come 1 a month its @ night and the family who lives there just sends them away for a little while because they get heads up from local gang members across the street. But the biggest kicker of it all is there is No manager! The guy who comes and collects the sign in sheet is a pervert I have been here 6 months and everytime he comes he passes the adults and go straight in the room on kids. Did i tell you he is sleeping w the 18 year old in the house oh yeah go in her room for @ least an hour or more w the door closed oh we can hear.My son woke up to him standing over him and just staring @ him both times while he told me to sigh the paper work. Your wondering if i have told hopics? Well yes I have! Not the slightest bit concerned. They said that Cant be happening but No follow up they didnt let me file a written complaint so here it is!
