I have to agree with many of the reviews here. This company is one of the worse waste disposal companies. When Los Angeles change companies, this is what we received. It took months before we were able to get a new waste can, so what we did, they only got paid for the ones we had. And we told them that we would not pay the late fees either. it worked. They get the trash cans, but if something falls to the ground, they just leave it there. They get paid for pick up, so if it falls out of the trash can, then get out and pick it up!!!! These companies are only about the money, they dont care about their workers or the customers. The owner should be ashamed for running a company like this.

Office staff has the worst telephone and customer service skills. Drivers are crooked! They wont take a bin of mine because the lid was slightly open, but will take bribs to dump a day care Blue, Green, and 2 Black bins full of trash! I hope they loose their contract and L.A. County gets another company!

I had my 87 year old mother out to the crabpot in seal beach for dinne on saturday may 29, 2021. We were in the parking lot which was one way and trying to get out. This company blocked the driveway and refused to let us out. He parked and put his feet out the window like it was a stand off or something. We were devastated and had.absolutelty no clue how we would get out until a customer told us there was anothee exit. It was traumatic and my poor mother with alzheimers was acting out and confused. Next time this happen I will contact the police department. They were coming in the wrong direction on a one way parking lot. They blocked the exit which is for cars in both directions and instead of backing up and letting us out so we could go back around and park in a handicap spot for our mother who is confined to a wheelchair, he turns off his truck and sits there and puts his feet out the window. I will never do business with this comapny at any of my conpanies. We dont live in the area and had no clue if we would ever get out. There were cars behind us and thankfully some stranger told us there was another exit. What a poorly ran company to allow their drivers to block people from getting out of the driveway ..what they did was illegal.

This is the worst company ever. Their driver on 12/4/2020 put our recycle bin in his truck and drove away. We have been waiting for 15 weeks to get it replaced. I have called twice a week since, and spoken to many different Customers Service personnel, that have all lied about when it will be replaced.

As a former employee, they are currently involved in 3 lawsuits. One of which an employee died because the company did not want to pay to have conditioning fixed. Management, HR, and the owner knew about it but saving money is all that matters. Also, they have been removing overtime hours and normal hours for years. The lack of safety equipment that deals with HIV needles in some of the trucks has been zero. Some of the employees are illegal immigrants which would explain why they did what they did.

This is a trash company...like complete trash i ordered a extra bin almost 9 weeks ago and I keep getting the run around saying next week next week...3 weeks ago the guy who delivers the new cans drove by my house with 20+ new trash cans went to the end of the street and turned around and left..I tried to wave him down but he just drove off... I called and spoke with a lady who said next Thursday you will have your cans and its already next next next Thursday and still nothing I just called and now its next Thursday 🙃

This is a horrible, rotten company and their customer service is horrendous. They will straight out lie to you that they will do something ( an un-emptied bin that you need them to return to empty, a large order pick up that you had scheduled etc..) and will never fulfill the request. How they were rewarded the license to serve is beyond belief I literally despise this company. The only thing they are capable of doing is sending their bill to be paid.Not enough words to describe my loathing of UWS.

My recycling can was destroyed by the very workers picking up the recycling. Now I have to wait til the 25th of January there is no way to roll it back to the yard. The trask was destroyed!!

This is my regular trash company. They are the worst. They are lazy and dirty they don’t care if they drop trash and they will decide to not take your trash with no explanation when we are the ones paying for the service.

Tends to skip days and always unresponsive. also did not pick up trash for trivial reasons like a car was blocking even though theres another gate that is unlocked and is the one thats actually meant to be used for the bin. just lazy service overall. this monopoly stuff needs to end

The drivers are easily the laziest with the poorest work ethic by far. Always looking for an excuse not to do there job and when they actually do they leave trash everywhere. One star is way too many for sure

Funny thing that a customer service named Karen (🤔) was giving me passive aggressive answer when confronted with the fact that my broken bin that their truck broke wasnt replaced yet and everytime i called, it always says its scheduled for the next week....EVERYTIME. bad thing is we r stuck with this company. i dnt get why we homeowners dont have any choice.

The guys who come pick up our trash are very nice. I feel for them.We have no recycle pick up and if you miss trash day you are screwed. I would rather pay more for a local larger company. Road Runner literally picks up a block from us.Thanks Sandoval county for putting us and recycling at the bottom of your importance list!

UWSI service has been Lousy lately drivers are unprofessional they take up middle of roads that are narrow to begin with collection service is the real problem if its not one container that doesnt get collected its the next today in Azusa Blue Container was never picked up last time it took 2-3 days to return to collect same Blue bin. PISS-POOR MGMNT. !!

Absolutely abhorrent. We had another company we were perfectly happy with, but thanks to The City mandating we had to use this company because of some contacts they signed, we were forced to switch. It has been a constant struggle to get consistent pick ups, theyll miss days and still charge us for service on those days. Weve tried calling them, the city and nothing. No resolution at all. Its frustrating and makes it difficult to run our business efficiently.

I closed my account 6 months ago because I moved and Im still receiving bills for the service. First bill I got and I called it was taken care of, they admitted to their mistake. Second bill is 3 times as much and when I called the lady said she needed to call the driver to verify if the container was still out there and she wanted my number so someone could call me back because she couldnt find anything showing I ever canceled my service.FYI, if you live in the Los Lunas area it costs 5 dollars to take your trash yourself to the dump, just cover it with a tarp.UPDATE: They never called me back I had to call them back the next day. They said they closed my account, again. I requested a letter stating the account was closed get sent to me for my records for future reference.

The city instituted a trash monopoly. As a result, our costs have gone up by a large margin, AND the quality of our service is MUCH worse. Trash service was perfectly fine before the monopoly. Since the monopoly RecycLA, we have had missed trash dates, refusal to move the bin outside of the gates, trash in the parking lot, etc.Aside from the companies that got granted a monopoly on the market, I wonder which politicians got paid to pull this off...

I recently had to switch to UWS from Athens when I relocated my business. I saw the low reviews and thought it had to be a mistake or the work a few disgruntled customers but, in fact, its entirely true. In just six months theyve missed 6-7 pick-ups. When you reschedule they will often show up before business hours and report they couldnt collect your waste because of the locked gate. Dealing with them is futile - one customer service rep told me its just really hard scheduling service, so they cant promise pick-up.

The City of Maywood in California once again drops the ball and doesnt make the right choice for residents and businesses. Universal Waste System is the 4th (Trash Company LITERARY TRASH COMPANY) the city has now hired to do a simple job. They say the first impression is the most important and as of March 7, 2020 UWS closely mirrors Commercial Waste Services. This company should not be in business. They provide the worse service. The employees who pick up the trash are the laziest people to walk this planet. They cannot get out of their truck to move a trashcan 1 foot away so the new mechanical truck can get to it. Instead they put a red tag because a neighbor decided to park to close the night before. Back in the day they trash company would actually get out of their vehicles, lift up trash cans and empty them in the trash track. This company is literally garbage. Bring Athens back to our area!!!

Wish I could add pictures of the mess they leave on the front lawn of my apartment the one time a month they finally decide to pick up the trash. Their excuse is that there are cars in the way but I have lived in this building for many years and that was never an issue before. Useless and still charge for services not rendered

I live in Los Lunas New Mexico and our trash was a day late from the fourth of July Holiday. However when they did come by my home today on the 6th of July when emptying our trash can into the truck when it shook the can trash from inside our can fell into the street and they drove off and left it there. Called the # just to be told that she is not sure what the guidelines are in New Mexico but she would transfer me over to the office here. A recording came on and prompts you to leave a brief moment and phone #, then the recording hangs up on you. What the hell are we paying for if they just dump our trash in the street. NEVER had we had a problem before with our service but to be told they do not know what the regulations were for New Mexico from California ? Really, I should hope that there would be NO difference. I do not know of any state that loves to go out and pick up trash that fell out of there can because of their own driver banging the can around and letting it fall on to the street for the home owner to pick up. I saw this happen from my up stairs window and by the time I got down stairs they were gone. I thought we were dealing with a waste company that did a good job but I guess we were wrong. Clean up YOUR MESS>

This company was forced on me and has been a nightmare to deal with. Apparently they won some sort of bid that I was not notified about. They never switched the trash can out to their own. They are still using the old companys trash bin. I never signed a contract nor agreed to the ridiculously high prices. I always seem to be behind on my bill and they charge in advance for the month. I dont ever receive their notices. Theyre sloppy, over priced and horrible! I will be seeking legal action against them if needed and reviewing all my options as mentioned above I did not sign any agreement nor agree to their services.

Im a property manager, and I knew once ONE! Company had the monopoly on the waste circuit, here in Los Angeles there would be problems. Constant late or not even picked up garbage bins, or this new system by constantly leaving our bins out on the streets overnight!! Letting everyone passing by puck thru it. I was even assured by some hipster rep from the city who cane out and told me this is a better system and there would be any monopoly or lower quality in service. This is all about 💲💲💲💲💲💲💰💲💲💲💲💰💰💸💸💸

I have been asking for new trashcan‘s for three months And six phone calls. They knock over my trash cans and will not pick them up. They came for a special pick up of my green waste that was tied and bundled nicely. Instead of driving the truck straight up the driveway with the box in the front to pick up the pile. They decided to back the truck up and drag everything around the truck. This left a huge mess on my driveway. When I asked him to pick it up they said they didn’t have a broom or a snow shovel. Do not use this company ever.

Worst service ever they dont pick up on time, overcharge, and complain if the trash is lifting the lid. Multiple times they said I did not pay when in fact I have the canceled checks to prove their accounting stinks as bad as their service.

Horrible experience we took our trash bin out a little late. I seen the driver just drive away. I called immediately to have him come back and company wanted to charge me 15.00 to have them come back out when he was still in the area.
