Spent three days and 1.5k just for tire change and stud change. The ABS warning light turns on after you guys changed my tires and studs on the first day, and you said it’s not your problem. Fine. Then I found out one of the stud is longer than others, told me to come back the next day which i did but you told me you got no parts at the shop. Then I come back next day again, charged me another $150 for the stud change again. Still, the ABS light stays on. Just brought my car to my friend’s shop today, you know what, we found out that the speed sensor was broken because you guys didn’t install the stud in a proper way!! What a great job you did on my car guys!!! Now I gotta spend another $200 to fix the sensor that you broke. Wonderful!!!!!
Went there to have my tire patched up. Staff was rude and the mechanic was weird. Then the mechanic told me he could NOT fix my tire because it had 2 nails in it. They wanted to charge $160 for a new tire. Left and took it to Goodyear Tires in Lakewood and they patched it up no problem. They Pepboys mechanic didn’t even bother to take the nails out and check if both nails caused leaks in the tires. Will definitely not be returning here as they do not know what they are doing. I saved $160 going elsewhere and saved my tire.
If you get work done here your insane. The prices are out of this world. Just the labor to put on front brake pads is $182....... right next door at the mechanic shop its $90. Call ANYWHERE else, nothing will charge as much as them.
2 hours for an oil change with an appointment! I came here because I thought it would be cheap,and was willing to wait a little but it was around $90. At that price I should have just went to the Valvoline instant oil change. It would have only been 15 mins and around the same price.
I have a scion 2009 xb need the transmission filter changed, a guy did it at his house on YouTube in 30 minutes at his HOUSE! but pep boys dont and cant do it. I wanted to know if my car had freon $50 to test it. All he did was turn on my ac and tell me my compressor is out and need to be replaced $1000 to fix. $341 labor $650 for part, I asked if I could bring my own part he said yes, I needed my battery tested to $16 I should of got in the zone and went to Auto zone, for FREE testing. He tried to up sell everything he could but he really wasnt listening to what I was saying very unknowledgeable. I told him my car was cutting off at the lights or stop signs sometimes and the lights low beam flicker and my cluster lights are dim and flicker, he said that sounds electrical and we dont do electrical work, most mechanics say alternator or battery. Save time, and money Google it and fix it yourself if you live in your car like me and dont wanna carry around jack and stands get them at Walmart save the receipt and take it back when done. My car had cut off at the light 2 blocks down, I originally just wanted my battery and alternator have cause I just changed both recently and have warranty, and my ac blew out when they had the really bad fires last year. But Im thinking he gonna check hoses to see if it was leaking, or put the machine to check the freon no they did none of that it was $50 to turn on the ac and not hear the compressor come on. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE diagnostic. And the parking is tight. Will NEVER RETURN OR RECOMMEND.
I bought a car battery from them. It turned out to be a bad battery, so they replaced it under warranty. That battery turned out to be bad too, do about 6 mos later they replaced that one too, again under warranty. This time it was a different brand, a Champion instead of Bosch. That battery was also bad after they tested it. So I went back again and they said they replaced it. Next morning, the battery was dead again. I opened the hood to jump start it and saw that they hadnt replaced it at all! I dont know about the other @Pepboys locations, but avoid this one!
This particular Pep Boys location is my go-to spot for any servicing or maintenance needs that I have with my car.They are always very quick, efficient, friendly, and honest and reasonable with their prices. I always feel like I can trust that my car is in good hands here and that I will be receiving a fair price.It’s situated in a bit of an awkward corner off of Fountain Ave, but I’ve never had any difficulties when coming to drop off the car. They also have a very comfortable waiting room area with couches, a counter with charging outlets, and a TV and snack vending machine. Oftentimes, I’ll just comfortably sit there and wait if it’ll only take an hour or two to get the service done.They are always very friendly and quick to get started on working on the car, and always give a fair and reasonable estimate on the wait time. They almost always finish before that estimated time as well!I love the prices here, especially with Pep Boys coupons and the rewards program. I definitely feel like I’m getting excellent value for excellent service every time I come here. They’ve been taking good care of my car!My favorite auto mechanic location! I use it every time I need anything from an oil change to repairs done, and I will be continuing to do so! Quick, honest, trustworthy!
I came in for a oil change last week. I reserved a time online for 10 am when I arrived I was told there were a couple of other people before me but I was aready there so no problem. I decided to walk in the neighborhood and about a half hour later was called and told I needed additional repairs so I said OK. I was not informed that they didnt have the parts on site so I had to wait at least 45 minutes before the could work on my car so I ended up waiting when I could have been enjoying my time more wisely had I been told about the delay. I paid for the repair after being there for 2 hours and 15 minutes. What also upset me was they advertised a check list of things they do however there was no indication of what was checked and how everything was on my car. I wasnt even going to post a review however I did inform them of my unpleasant visit and never heard back so I figured I would post my experience here on Google
I had new tires replaced today. First, the place is clean and follow procedures re covid. Milton has display professionalism in dealing with customer, I was given a quote when I called him day before and he was true to his promise that there won’t be no hidden charges on my bill. It did not take long for my tires to get installed as they only accept customer with appointment for safety reason. Thanks for a good job!

Been to this location many times with such great service. Today I was helped by the assistant manager Michael and it was the complete opposite. Every other time I have been here they have checked the code of a light on the dash and offered me options. This time he didn’t even check the code and told me it was 100 off the bat to diagnose. After arguing he finally checked the code and then told me the code with no other info in the parking lot as if I would know. I stood there shocked that he just verbally told me the code with no other info. I got upset and we went inside and he then looked it up, printed it, and handed it to me with no explanation.I turned around and left.When I am spending money at a business, and potentially a lot of money, at the very least I want to be treated with basic respect. From the moment I walked it it was one word answers from Michael.Worst service. Will not be back. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.Below is a picture of what he handed me with no explanation. So bad.
I had a horrible experience at this service and tire shop. I would definitely not do this again or recommend it to anyone. They replaced two of the wrong tires onto my car. I only found out after I paid and was about to leave. I merely wanted to confirm that they changed the correct side tires. In fact, they did not. If I had not asked, I would have driven away and potentially popped one of the tires while driving since there was a bubble in one and could have been in a major accident.At the start, when I checked in and dropped of my car for this tire change, I told the man helping me that I need both tires on the drivers side / left side changed. He said it was going to make a note of it, but then decided not to because he said that the technician should be able to tell which tires need to change. Clearly he was wrong and this was just lazy of him. I then had to wait an additional few hours for them to undo their mistake and they did not even offer or give me any sort of inconvenience discount for their mistake.Additionally, I asked for them to redo the alignment and they would not do it. I had to ask them three times to have them at least double check on the alignment with the new tires, which again shows how lazy they were.
2 hours for an oil change, I made an appointment. Walked in Hector told me OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER you dont have an appointment I cant find your appointment. I kept saying I had one he finally said fine Ill make you one now. Took my info, 1hr 10min in a see my car get pulled out. Hector take the next person and the next person and the next. After watching my car sit there for 30 min I took it upon myself to walk up to the counter. After Hector ignored me for a few minutes he looks up and says Honda fit? And finally checks me out. I would still be sitting there in the lobby waiting if I did not walk up to the counter myself.P.s after looking over my recipt he also charged me for the most expensive oil change. When he took my info he ask what kind of oil I said the cheapest its a lease and is going back this week

Made an appointment for my prepaid scheduled service...provided a coupon for oil change, tire rotation, multipoint inspection. Completed the oil change... but not the other stuff. Asked why, they said it was an oversight but I can come back later for no charge... ah... this was prepaid, why would I be charged again... this location was far better than.the first location, but I am still not feeling this prepaid service.. its like I have to jump through hoops to get what I paid for...
Installed tires improperly. Tires have a slow leak. I have had to fill air three times in the last month since they have been installed.I have taken the car back twice to PepBoys, complaining about the problem. Last time, they charged me $25 and refused to re-mount the tires because they said they werent any leaks. Of course they did not find any fast leaks - the pressure drops about 15 psi over 2 or 3 weeks. Because of this, the easiest thing for them to do is to say theres nothing wrong with the car, no leaks, and send me on my way.Why would I lie about the pressure dropping in the tires?My next recourse will be to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Pep Boys corporate.

They told me to wait max 45 min to get my tyres done. Ive been waiting for almost 2 hours and when I was too frustrated for the situation I asked my car keys back. At that point they told me that they didnt have the right tires. Basically Ive been waiting for no reason... Nobody had the decence to take care of the problem and no one said a word to me while waiting in the parking lot. Its funny to think that I had scheduled an appointment for the occasion and its even funnier that I had the same service a few blocks away without appointment for the half of the price... And guess what... in 20 minutes... What a shame

He gave me a call ordered the correct one and scheduled my install service for the following day. Dropped off my civic and picked it up right after work. Smooth transaction and great service. Terrible terrible ... and I can’t say this enough terrible service. This place overcharged once I got in person. If that wasn’t bad enough they rang me up as the wrong customer and couldn’t reverse the charge.After waiting and trying to get it reversed for over an hour and with 4 different people trying to help I just left this place. I will never go back again. Really disappointed as I’ve been going to other Pep Boys for years.
The massive pile of poo in the parking lot should have been clue enough, but when I was told my tires, which were requested when making the appointment over the phone three days prior, were not there and it would be a 2.5 hour wait to get them and install them, after begging off a bait and switch, I left and went to Discount Tire. I give Discount Tire of Hollywood 5 stars for getting me in and out in under and hour with no appointment. I recommend leaving Pep Boys and taking your business elsewhere.

Above and beyond service and kindness! Ive had a few really wonderful experiences getting new tires at this Pep Boys location. Car stuff gives me anxiety because I dont understand it well myself, but Ive found the staff here really friendly, patient, practical and informative. Today especially, I felt like the employee listened to everything I mentioned, remembered the details, checked on these things, and reported back to me afterward. This went above and beyond just replacing my tire, and I really appreciated this care. Also, I didnt feel pressured into spending money unnecessarily. I appreciate the great service and will continue to use this Pep Boys location for my car needs!
After having the stress of a car breakdown and tow to this Pepboys, I found the receptionist, Nataly W. very blunt and rude. The mechanic who fixed my car was excellent, but its important that the person fronting the business greets customers courteously. As the opposite happened, I wont be back again.

The website is misleading, this is what I saw from their website when I look for a store near my area, it says here that theres a car parts available here... Then I went there to see what parts they have and I just found out that this is just a service.. So sad to waste time and gas just to get here... I’ve been here many times over the last ten years. Not going to bore you with a long, detailed review on this one. The bottom line is that this place is fine if you just need accessories, but if you need parts or service, they are overpriced and very slow.
Usually I get all my cars serviced here sometimes with my own oil and filter. The service is great here. No snake oil ever. Also the best thing is that they apply the coupon when I didnt even know about it. Awesome!

Fast and simple! Very happy with my experience at this Pep boys. All because the girl boss Ana (I believe please correct me if wrong)I have been dreading to make an appointment to change out my front light bulb because I believe it would take an hour wait. However, that was not the case at this Pep Boys. I walked into the store and saw customers waiting for their vehicles. Told the counter what was the problem and Ana quickly said let me see your car. No bs of writing down paper work - she just got to it. We didnt even exchange words she just changed it out in 5 min. I then paid and left. IT WAS AMAZING EXPERIENCE

Jaime was super awesome and helped me out when I came into the shop 30mins before closing with a bit of an emergency. My car had been broken into and the thieves did some damage to my hood so it couldnt close properly. I needed to take my car to an auto body shop, but everywhere else was closed for the day, so Jaime helped me do a temporary quick fix on the hood to keep it closed for the night. It wasnt an easy task, but he didnt even charge me for the favor. Thanks Jaime!!
Great for an inexpensive oil change. Was there at the listed busiest time, was told will take about an hour, hour and a half; took definitively less than that, so that was nice.

This place is run by the worst management I have ever encountered in my life. After three failed attempts to get my tire fixed, I went to pick up my car and the sign on the door said “closed. No power.” No contact info, sign of life, timing for when they may be back. (Maybe they’re watching the super bowl?) We will see how this saga ends but so far I have never encountered worse customer service in my life.
Very quick and seamless service! The lobby is cute...there’s coffee, tea, water, comfy lounge chairs and a huge tv. Not a bad way to start the morning!

Great place! They are honest and give you useful information if you have questions. I have been taking my cars there for a long time. They also have a nice little waiting area with free Wi-Fi if you need to stay there while they service your car.
These guys were rude when I first pulled up, didnt say hello. Tried to charge me 700$ in labor and parts for a tie rod replacement. Scam artists.
I love that when you buy your tires there, they will rotate them whenever you ask.

I was unhappy that the store on Hollywood boulevard did not have this common sized tire in stock ( Prius tire). They did however direct me to another store about ten minutes away...which in LA is very close. Long story short. They had the tire I needed. Called prior to going, they said to come in now. I went over, arrived within 5 minutes. They said 45 minutes for my oil change which was perfect since my daughter was in dance class.1 hour later they decide to start! When I ask whats going on, the cashier didnt seem to care.If you cant do something within an hour, say its going to be 90 minutes. Inconvenient and careless :/

I was there for 3 hours. They kept telling people that it would only take an hour or an hour and a half... those people would come in and leave before me and they were getting the same brake service I was. It took them an hour and a half JUST to get my car on the rack to see what was going on. I’m never going there again.
Very bad tire shop, they put ripped tire on my brand new rim plus they scratched it and their excuse is that its an aftermarket rims

I want to be clear that my rating is ONLY related to my SINGLE experience at the Silverlake location of Pep Boys. A service employee who is, perhaps, new on the job, poorly trained or just not committed to best standards when the boss isnt present can occasionally appear and work (for at least a short time) until an unacceptable work pattern is discovered at even the best of places. Thats my benefit of the doubt argument. But I must admit that I find it a lot easier to forgive bad - even potentionally dangerous/destructive - work performed by a service person on my new car when the story is about someone ELSE! I struggle to not be totally stressed out at the careless and unapologetic quality of work my vehicle received at this location of Pep Boys. Again, the guy who worked on my car is just one employee and I have been there only once. But the careless mistakes were serious enough for me to need to seek advice from others who know cars, the servicing required to maintain them and the proper industry-approved procedures adhered to by quality establishments in providing that. Moreover, each experienced opinion I received was very disturbed by the details of my concern and commented on what a difficult call it was in determining what I should do to be SURE I was protected from engine damage possible resulting directly from the work performed that day at Pep Boys. Their advice and information seemed heart-felt. With lasting discomfort as a trailing memory that certainly had an impact on my excitement experience with enjoying my new vehicle due to the understandable worry now present from a future outcome that is unknown yet, I can say this visit to Pep Boys was costly in more ways than just the bill that December day. My lesson learned is for one to approve the actual mechanic or technician working on ones vehicle... and only allow well-vetted and highly-recommended people to perform service if they have proven themselves to people in ones life in whom adequate respect and trust is held in related matters. Their idea of alignment is to do it on flat tires. They dont bother to check. They wont be bothered to give you a printout of camber caster toe in out readings either. After alignment from here car drives worse than it ever did. Do not go there. They dont know what they are doing, but worse is they just dont care.
