Place has curated an excellent environment with interesting decor and high-quality barbers. I’ve worked with 3 different guys there and all of my cuts there have been great. Recently got my cut from Chris who listens to your needs and made conversation easy.No shortage of curious wall decorations to get lost in if the conversation lulls during your cut.One of the other men getting a cut while I was there was being fussy and a PITA to one of the other barbers and, despite the difficult customer, the barber kept his cool and was kind and understanding. Very professional place.

As I enter their shop, I witnessed how hospitable and nice they were. All of them were greeting me religiously and passionately. Besides, you could see how satisfied and overwhelmed the customers were because of their service. In my case, I truly love the idea of allowing them to make my handsome look for my girl. They make the appointment at 16.30, you wait there after 15 min you ask them how much time i need to wait more(i was there on time!), they tell …You can wait 15-20 min or not you can leave … the one before me was a 14-15 years child he say to him he don’t have change for him, next time to ask !!! Avoid this scums !

I booked haircut. Waste around 1:30 for my trip. And the barber shop was closed. It’s okay, if you don’t work, because of virus. But I am not that kind of people, who follow news. You have to put some information to your website at least. And also I tried to reach barbers by cellphone. Never respond.

Meaning, theyre not on payroll, they bring in all thier own stuff, they rent the space and you pay them directly. On spite of not having a Car, while in town, Ridding the Bus is Cheep & I’m Not about Paying.nearing $4 a Gallon for Fuel and so on.Inflation. How is eg: Fuel 70% higher vs the Midwest.I called back & made sure that they would take a Credit Card. Yes, that’s fine.Is $40 for a Shave is Pricy?. However. It a shortage of availability & supply & demand. My Hotel Room Rate was up and down, pending on the day.Food is Higher vs the Midwest.Ride the Bus, Skip a Meal. And I got a Shave instead.

Pretty terrible haircut. Seems like an experience issue where the cut I got was the basic mens hair but had nothing to do with what I asked for. Although even the basic cut was done poorly. I would not recommend going here unless you know them or are willing to experiment with your head.Sorry guys!

Great barbershop for men but at the same time that is their biggest problem. They refuse service to women even those who have shorter hair than men.I really wish they would change their policy to fit the modern day America.

Super disappointed in the price hiking. I’ve been going here for years. $30 was the cost two years ago. It has increased to $40 since that time (most recently from $35 to $40). For a simple haircut, that has nothing else involved, a 130% inflation over the length of two years is ridiculous. Floyd’s, for example, costs $28.50 for the same services. I hate to say it, but The Proper Barbershop’s latest price increase has resulted in the loss of business.

Came to the shop as a walk in and was accepted for 6pm, great service already. Shop is highly decorated and has a fun but also serious atmosphere. On their website you can also book appointments but, like the DMV, I would rather wait in line instead. Each chair had a client being worked on and everyone seemed to do a great job at what each person needed. I was looking for a fun barbershop and this place delivers that. Theres a sign that says Sorry, No Kids🤣Magazines and books to keep you entertained and some interesting memorabilia decorating each barbers station🤐As for the Ladies, if you need a shorter haircut I am certain this shop will accept you. While I was waiting, a woman with short hair got an even shorter cut. So as for any other negative reviews asking for womens services. I would assume these women wanted a blowout or something🤔 Maybe these guys changed services to include women and shorter styles.There is a salon or a nail salon on the same street too.Parking is really bad, restaurants will put up valet signs around 5pm. The parking lot across from the Proper Babershop has validation for an hour, only from the stores immediately in that part of the area, so Trader Joes. Its 2 dollars every 15 minutes after the validated hour.Thanks to Chris working on my cut, consultation and any help I needed with styling.Only horror story here is the parking😱

Made an appointment two weeks in adavance. Came in for the appointment and they said they cant take me since i am not listed in the calendar. Be warned!

Made an appointment days in advance and came in to get cancelled on without a notice or anything. They wouldnt even offer anything to make up for the fact that I now have to wait at least another week to have the time to book something again, which will obviously be at another barber shop now. They just basically told me to leave and couldnt do anything for me. Needless to say, Im very disappointed with the customer service.

Just a series of facts about my experience with S.Todd today (I dont think Ive ever left a Yelp review in my life, for the record, but this encounter has inspired me.) I made an appointment for today at 5:30pm. had a friend-emergency so I had to call and cancel at 3:30. One hour later I realized I could still make it, so I called and asked if that was cool, Sween said yeah. I asked if there was tax cuz I needed to pay in cash cuz I didnt have card with me, he said no tax, cash is fine. Got off phone and wondered if the way I phrased the question sounded like I wasnt gonna tip, cuz his tone changed after I asked. Whatever. Biked over, hit traffic, arrived and checked phone: 5:34, start to lock bike and Sween walks out door and starts to leave. Hey, I think youre cuttin my hair, I called after him. Nope. Late, he said without looking at me or slowing his pace. Oh. I look at my phone. 5:35 turns to 5:36. Dude, its 5:36 I yell to him as he reaches end of block. He shrugs and keeps walking. I admit I was late, and exactly how late I was, but is this a way to run a f**king business? Id heard good things bout the place. Obviously Ill never go again, and gonna make sure the people who recommended it know. Maybe it will simply encourage promptness in the future. Or maybe that guy is a next-level a**hole, like if you saw a villain in a movie act that lame, youd blame the hack writers for crafting such a one-dimensional prick. Judging from the fact that he responds so trollishly to all these Yelp reviews, I think I have my answer, but you can decide for yourself. And then go to Proper Barber, where you wont be treated like a freaking leper in the dark ages.
