Worst fade I’ve ever gotten. Truly it’s not even a fade. I have patches in the back of my head, my line up isn’t clean, it’s uneven, and the sides are not even. I know non-professionals who cut hair better than this. Next time I’ll wait and go to my regular. I read the reviews but always try to find out things for myself. I should have heeded the warnings. This is absolutely terrible!

I liked that Sweeney cut my hair in 20 minutes, the fade was actually the best Ive gotten in LA, contrary to the reviews below. And all LA haircuts are ~$40. Its not that uncommon to go quick if youre not talking too much off the top. If you want her to slow down, tell her. Its all about communication with barbers, youre the customer, tell them what you want. I told her to make mine quick, and it turned out perfect to where I am coming back every 3 weeks now. I like her enough to where I will go on Google and leave a review. Shes a hardworking, good barber. Im sorry yall dont know how to speak up, but next time try it.

Came here as a first timer in barber shops to work on my beard. Im fairly new to the whole beard scene so didnt really know what to ask for when I got there. I was assigned to Kane and when he asked what I wanted I told him that I really didnt know, so all he said was you dont know what you want, I know what you want and let me tell you, he took care of me and left me feeling good and looking good. Ive gonna twice already and plan on returning for sure. Highly recommend Kane!

This place was a joke. I am very disappointed on how they cut my hair. Everything is uneven, nothing is crisp. I have razor cuts which I would be okay with if my haircut was decent. Overall a terrible place to get a haircut. My barbers name was MattyBoy but I call him MessUpYourHairBoy. A joke of a barber and for the price, honestly, I would’ve taken the homeless man sleeping outside and myself to barbershops half the price with a million more times the skills of MessUpYourHairBoy. Truly a pathetic place to get a haircut.

This place was so awesome. I took my grandson for a haircut, and my adult nephew for a full hair and beard treatment as a gift, they loved it. It was a great experience every man should try at least once in their life.

Sweeney is always my favorite for buzz cuts! I have the side of my head shaved, and not only is she incredibly meticulous and careful so that she doesnt catch any long hairs, she is SO FAST. It seems like an easy cut to maintain, but other barbers at other shops get sloppy and my line gets wiggly -- not so with Sweeney! It takes all the stress out of the haircut.

Be sure to clarify what length of hair you want to end up with. I had about 12 of hair and said I wanted to keep 5 and I think Matty started shaping my hair from 5 and then shorter. So by the time I realized it, it was way too late. And now I have hair much shorter than I had wanted to begin with... like around 2.

Sweeney been my barber for over 3 years now. Shes been cutting my hair since Floyds. He always been good on time and never 10 minutes or anywhere there ever like some people say. My average with her is like 40 minutes. During the pandemic I tried other places and barbers but nothing compared to her work. I would always call her fo rme and my wife anytime.

I’ve tried to avoid this review but after reading someone else’s post I felt the same way, Sweeney is a nice person however I did a better job cutting it my self during pandemic $45.00 plus a $10.00 tip and I think I was there for 10 minutes I would have felt better giving that money to a stranger on the street. I will go back but with someone else to give me proper barber haircut .

Careless and rushed cut where I was in and out of the chair in under 10 minutes. Place was empty and I was there early so I’m not sure why the rush. Easily the sloppiest haircut I’ve had in years.

Easily the worst haircut of my life from Sweeney. I don’t care that you’re an “award winning speed barber”. There was absolutely no concern for craftsmanship, and I felt like a sheared sheep. Sorry to say this because she was very kind, but pumping out a haircut in 10ish minutes for $45 is criminal. I might as well shave my head now.

This place is always customer friendly and the location is clean and follows Covid protocols. Definitely hit up Matty Boy as the man is surgical with his trimmer. I highly recommend this place as I have been going for a few years now.

I found Manly and Sons just using Google. I lucked out and got Geo in DTLA. He took time to really listen to what I wanted. Not only is this a great place for a tradition fade but its also solid for a haircut. Best cut I have had in a long time and Im certainly going back. This place is a gem. I recommend requesting Geo.

Manly and Sons has a traditional, quality barbershop vibe. My stylist, Izzy, was personable and cut my hair as I asked. I hesitate to give 5 stars based on two principles: 1. The price is a bit outstanding, I’m not sure it is justified - should include a wash or at least a free beard trim, and 2. The haircut didn’t grow in very well - the first two weeks were nice but it didn’t finish evenly. In my opinion, a quality cut will grow in very nicely.

The service here was amazing and the atmosphere is very laid back. I got my hair cut by Adam and so far, everyone I have come in contact with has had something good to say about how my hair looks. I would go back again. Worth it!

Great Old School Styled Barber Shop catering to men. Heck....they even offer water, soda or a beer while you wait! Jerrardo is phenomenal and my go to guy for a great old school haircut - Hot Towel and all! I always get a full cut, beard trim, and razor edging and my haircut//trim are perfect for a month until the next appointment. From what I have seen - all the stylists are really good and turn out great cuts. Give them a try!

I started growing out my beard in January and I once it grew long I hated how it looked. I didnt like all the bulkiness of it and it just looked horrible. I read a great review for Alex and I decided to try her out. I sat in her chair and I told her how much I hated my beard. She asked me what I didnt like about my beard. Based on everything I told her she began to sculpt and shape my beard and I am now loving my beard. There is a shape and a contour to it. I have been going to Alex ever since and I refuse to go to anyone else. When she begins to trim your beard, you can just see how much passion she has for beard trims. When you sit in her chair and you look at her do her magic, you will know exactly what Im talking about. Every time she is done with her trim, I tell her the same thing. I wish I can take you home. If you need someone that will take care of your beard and give it the life and look it needs, then Alex is the one to go see. I promise you will not be disappointed.

This place is the only place to get your haircut. Ive tried most places in the area and as soon as I went to Manly and Sons Ive never had my haircut by anyone else. A proper gentlemans barbers with beard trims, shaves and clean, sharp cuts. Also run by the nicest and coolest guys. Dont ponder it, just go there and experience it.

I asked for a simple buzzcut and trim for my beard. The guy had trouble using his tools and it was painful but I thought I give him the benefit of the doubt. I was told the haircut is complete but my hair was completely messed up. I asked the guy,politely and nicely, that the cut is uneven. He said that’s the best he can do because his blades (and equipment) got broken. I was complete disappointed and mad. I was charged $25 and went straight to another barbershop to fix my hair.I told my wife that this was the worse haircut experience I had in my life.Will never go to this barbershop ever again.

Best barber shop in LA and you can bring your dog!! They are really talentd. They even offer you a drink when you come in, anything from regular coke to beer to whiskey (if I remember correctly). Only downside is its pretty expensive, not insanely expensive, but more than your average barber shop by probably double. But, you get what you pay for, and you dont have to go home and clip hairs the cheapo barber missed.

Its fine. One of your Bourbon and mustaches and rooster cuts places, with iPads up front. If you dont want That Look, dont go here. Gone thrice, two okay cuts, and one bad one, offering Very Specific instructions that were nodded-at and summarily ignored. The barber said lemme do what I do and gave me something I didnt want. Went to Izzy and the girls in the back of the place. Maybe their tight jeans dont allow movement but the guys in the back are far from proffesional. Never got what i asked for (twice). Izzy failed to even out my stache, i looked like an idiot coming back to try and get that fixed. Gossip circle in the back does not help the place. I will only send people there who don t value their hair or beard. I rather drink a bucket of piss than allow Izzy and the tight jean fairies near my hair or beard again.

I went in today and had a haircut with a guy named Matt, worst haircut of my life! While trimming my hair, the guy was constantly looking over his laptop and wasn’t paying any attention to what he was doing with my hair, although I told him exactly what I wanted, the guy made the hair on the right side of my hair shorter than the left side! Simply the worst haircut of my life!

You lose more than you win here.Ive been going here for more than a year. And this place has problems. Tho Ive had some of the best haircuts from here, Ive mostly had average to bad cuts here mostly because the barber cuts hair whatever way he wants because hes hurried by time restrictions. And at $41 per cut, ya Im expecting better quality.This isnt a matter of my hair being different and not setting the way I want it to. I show pictures of how I want it and tell him in detail each and every time - he still does whatever he wants. I say low fade - he goes high and tight. I say shave in a thin part - he makes it finger width and then pretends like nothings wrong!Theyve increased the price from $35 - $38 - $41 and theyve restricted barbers to 30 mins per cut when it used to be 45. The barber still tried to give me 40 mins sometimes, no doubt, but he doesnt let you look in the mirror while he cuts and only shows you the cut at the end when you cant do anything about it anymore.Its difficult to keep appointments in LA with traffic and everything, but the barbers deserve better than 30 mins per cut. Theyre talented, but you can tell theyre rushed because ownership is thirsty for profits under the guise of theyve increased rent on us.Theyre slowly trying to become a $65 per cut shop without letting their barbers get the time they need and without letting customers get the cuts they really pay for.LA is filled with competition and Im happy to find somewhere else for my hair to get cut the way I pay for it to get cut.

Outstanding group of individuals. Talented barbers that will educate you and work with you. One of the VERY few barber shops that will serve you a cold one WITHOUT coming off as gimmicky or pretentious (looking at you, Hawleywoods). Everyone is welcoming, none of that too cool for school attitude here.Prices come off as above average and average at the same time (30ish for a haircut). Depending on where you normally go it will either be what you expect or a bit more than you would expect. Excluding chains and small mom and pop shops, the price for a haircut here is average and is only beat by the tiny salons that your mom used to take you too as a kid.Ive been going here for 2 years and counting for haircuts and beard trims, and constantly have to fight off women vying for my classic good looks. Owe it all to Manly and Sons.

This barbershop works as it suppose to work. My barber was Elly and he did a great job. I showed him a photo of my hair, said what I want and he did everything as I wanted. It took only 40 minutes and Im very satisfied with my haircut, before I was in another barbershop and they messed up my hair.

Besides being overcharged, I got a haircut completely different from what I had asked for. Furthermore, the barber did not brushed the hair off my face, ears, and neck. I was not offered to have my hair washed, and when I looked myself at the mirror, I realized I had paid 32.00 for a haircut my mother could have done, and that without training.

PROS:1: Beer at the start (but Ive had similar service other places like DankCuts in Irvine and Salt Lake Citys Jeds- not for a high price either)2: Great cut and Shave (see #1)3: Easy appointment setting and changing (Sort of expect this anyways for successful enterprises)4: Lots of staff to take their clientele (Good, most times its understaffed)5: Nice interior- Rustic Gentleman look (Nice look, easy on the eyes- good atmosphere in all)CONS:1: WAYYY Overpriced, I paid 40 (including tip) at a place in Salt Lake for a custom cut, trim up, shampoo, massage, and pleasant conversation at Jeds Barbershop.2: The barber had a hurry type energy and way about them. I understand that if I pay 80$ for this experience I expect this to be a great hour cut. The person asked a couple questions but it seemed like it was a forced to have a barber-client relationship type ordeal.3: The cut was great but not worth 50 for the cut--If its worth 50 then it better come with a massage and free shampoo for that rate at minimum.4: ITs in Hollywood basically (the location I went to) and so the parking is atrocious there anytime you go there, not a great spot to go if youre about to drop 80 bones on a basic cut and trim up. Id seek other spots if you hate traffic and parking because its too expensive to deal with this imho.5: I left a review via their invitation, havent heard anything about it back- not sure theyll read it or do much about it. I think enough people give 5-stars, so they care honestly only if it goes below 4-stars I think. Still, the negatives in such a highly rated place should be a red-flag to all newcomers because usually weve been to 5-star setups. I expect to get 80$ worth for a cut that is priced so high- and thats a lot for any cut.Hope this helps.

A drink and a haircut is all I need. And the appointment process was seamless!
