I like that I was able to make an appointment online with pretty short notice and that they wash your hair here, which I havent had in a while at a barbershop. But Im really confused about how this haircut just went. I think there was a miscommunication about how much blending should happen on the sides because the sides ended up really short with my hair was sticking straight out and up near my part. When I brought it up, he said he noticed that and would make a note to leave more next time.I also asked for only a quarter inch to be taken off of the top because I wanted to keep my waves and when he got to the top, he immediately started slicing off probably over an inch. He did handle my sideburns and the back of my hair like I asked, so that was good. Im just really confused about why he just went ahead and cut way more off the top than I asked for.The last thing was that the blending wasnt done super well and doesnt really follow my cowlick in the back. I had to cut some hairs in the back myself after the haircut because there were tufts of long hairs that fall next to short hairs due to my cowlick.

Is it inappropriate to go back and get another haircut tomorrow?? Because that was fantastic. I rarely enjoy getting a haircut, but that was relaxing and smooth and vibey but not weird AND most importantly Dwain did an excellent job with the cut results. Five stars easily.

It was my first time trying out this place, and I loved it! Safe, friendly and professional. I only had a drawing of a fictional character to explain the haircut I wanted, and Micaela did a great job!

Horrible. Cancelled my apt and made me pay because I was 1 minute past their deadline due to 3 accidents on the freeway. I offered to skip shampoo and everything to make up the time and that I had a flight the next day at 7AM. They still said no even tho I drove 30 minutes there. Go somewhere else.

Favorite barbers Ive ever been too. My personal favorite barber is Dwain but from what Ive seen everyone else is amazing

I was genuinely concerned about finding someone who could take care of my hair. Nick nailed it the first time around, and now Ive been coming back to him for over a year. The salon is nice and clean, and the music is always fun. So happy to have found this close to home.

Im from the LA area but after I moved up to LA proper I was in need of a new place to get my hair cut. I went to probably 5 or 6 places over the course of a year before I finally wound up at Southpaw. Been coming here for at least 4 years now and its great. Ive had several stylists, and theyve all been wonderful, but Dwain has been taking care of me for over a year now. Overall, really great staff, reasonable prices, and a great location. Id highly recommend, especially if you live close.

I’m really finicky about my hair and hate going to new people. It took me months when I first got to LA to find somebody I felt comfortable with. Well I moved over an hour away and didn’t want to keep making that drive. Found this place and decided to see what Jesse can do. Showed him a few pics of the last month how my haircut is and styled.. told him a few areas I wanted different.It’s arguably the best haircut I’ve gotten. I used to live in Miami Beach and have gotten nice cuts in LA and Virginia so the competition is stiff. $50 is a fair price for the quality and being in LA. Make sure to tip. This includes scalp massage, wash, blow dry and style also.They offer you beverages when you enter and the vibe is great also. It’s in Silver Lake so the vibe is always good there. I never leave reviews either but I know somebody is out there like me worrying about finding a new barber. I’m telling you I’ve done the research extensively. This is the place to go to. You’ll pay more for a lesser haircut elsewhere.

I am very pleased with my haircuts. I am not the kind of guy who is too picky about his haircuts, but since Ive been going to Southpaw (Travis) I have decided it is worth it to go every six weeks. I am very pleased with the cuts I receive.

Ive been coming to Southpaw for about 2 years, usually seeing Dwain (unless I have to make a last-minute booking). Dwain is awesome - hes very friendly, funny, and always gives me a great haircut. I love everything about Southpaw - the stylists, the music, the vibe - and would recommend it to any man looking for an upscale-yet-casual barber shop.

I have been searching for a decent Barber since moving to Los Angeles two years ago and finally found it in South Paw. The premise is a clean, relaxed environment and I always leave happy with a great cut from Duane. This is a great local business and feels part of the local community, which is what we all need to support.

I rarely ever give reviews but my experience here was not great. Dwain barely even paid attention to the haircut he was giving me and spent maybe 15 minutes on actually cutting my hair and another 10-15 washing my hair and giving me a back rub. Which shouldn’t really be a part of a haircut even if you are rushed for your next client. The “fade” I was given was actually not a fade and was really badly cut with no attention to precision. I can’t believe I paid $50+ for that experience. His use of clippers was really rough and hurt. I’ll never go back to southpaw again.

After moving to LA from Wisconsin, I was curious how my experience with a new barber would be. Southpaw was incredibly welcoming and has offered very high quality service. Dwain is an excellent stylist - skilled professional and friendly.

Dwain is a legend. He understands his craft well and has a good eye. He understood what I wanted and suggested going with scissors. Most every place I go to the barber or stylist will default to electric clippers and when I ask them not to use them they tell me they cut with them just like scissors. All if that to say Dwain listened and cut my hair in a way I was happy with.Pricing is reasonable ($40ish plus tip).You should book a reservation, this place is busy. Highly recommended. Its been a while since Ive had a cut I liked. Ill be back

Having spent the time and resources trying every different barber shop looking for a haircut that didnt begin and end with clippers, I can say that Southpaw is a place you can count on getting a flattering haircut based on what you want. Sounds simple but it hasnt been for me. Dont hesitate to make an appointment and see for yourself how well you and your hair are treated.

Ive been to a lot of the top Barbers shops in town, and Southpaw is the best in my opinion. Duane has been cutting my hair for at least 2 years now I think.

Dont book an appointment here if you dont want it to be canceled at the last minute with zero consolation or attempt to make it right. they have a 24 hour cancellation policy or you will be charged the full amount, according to their website. yet when they canceled on me only two and a half hours before my appointment they did not offer me a free haircut. i kept my afternoon free to make this appointment. this is unprofessional and sloppy management by people who dont care about client retention. this is not how to conduct business. it is insulting and rude.

Excellent haircut service! Hair stylists really know what theyre doing and what to look for individually. Had my hair cut by Kate, who did a superb job. Definitely recommend for men!

Southpaw is great! Been going there since last fall. Cool place, very friendly staff. Amelia has been cutting my hair - shes excellent! She took my initial vague idea of the look I wanted and made it look great. Cant see getting my haircut anyplace else.

If your hair is long I recommend shortening it here. They do not work on individual hairs only groups of of them.

Got a great cut from Jesse even though Im indecisive and bad at communicating what I want. Ive had some terrible cuts the past few times at other places and it was a relief to get someone who knew what they were doing.
