A really nice little theater tucked behind and under the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Worth keeping an eye on the Redcat schedule so you can see movies, documentaries, and speakers that might be a bit more obscure or harder to find in other cities. Recently went here to see a film for the Los Angeles Dance Film Festival and really enjoyed it. There is a nice bar/cafe adjacent to the theater. One tip though, the seats are a bit old, somewhat weathered, but still comfortable - if you sit in the very front row though you will have more leg room though, so that is the spot for taller folks.
The REDCAT is a real delight! Its a 200-some odd seat theater tucked away beneath the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Some of CalArts freshest and finest pass through as well as bigger acts.
Always a great show! Sound system is amazing. A smaller theater but all the seats are good.
Great little theatre. A hidden gem. Parking is $9 at their lot.
I love the bar/Cafe. Its open to the public and a great place to meet up with friends before a performance at Redcat, Disney, or Zipper.
REDCAT is a multidisciplinary center for innovative visual, performing and media arts founded by CalArts in the Walt Disney concert Hall complex in downtown Los Angeles. Through performances, exhibitions, screenings and literary events, REDCAT introduces audiences to the most influential developments in the arts from around the world, and gives artists in this region the creative support they need to achieve national and international stature.
Great little theater. Comfortable enough for tjis big guy.
Beautiful theater. Can’t wait to see another show here!
The space transforms for every show and the performances Ive attended have been incredible. Also, the bar right outside the theater is fairly priced for a couple of glasses of wine or a cocktail before a show.
Nataki Garretts articulation of unspoken text through visual and aural figures exemplifies the evolution and revolution needed in American theatre.
It was a packed house for a weekday show. Donald Sutherland, aka President Snow was there, not a big deal, I gave him a high five. Its nice to be able to see a show for $25 bucks.
Outfest, redcat, calarts and Disney Hall make for magical escape from our trumpian world on a day honoring the ideals of egalité, liberté and fraternité
Comfortable and quiet with friendly staff. A great place for a quiet meeting or some creative time.
Very unique and well equipped space for performances. Lounge right outside of the space to get a beverage of your choice prior to the show or during intermission.
I cannot recommend the Redcat unless you already have a paid ticket. Similar to irresponsible airlines, they sell out all their tickets and then suggest that patrons seek unclaimed tickets via a stand-by (ie wait in line for over an hour and still don’t get it; there is no waiting list as in other theaters.) A no-assigned-seats system causes chaos even for ticket holders, so come early to get in line for when the doors open. Beware, if you’re running late, your ticket may get resold to someone who has been waiting outside for two hours. I recommend assigning seats as it is such a small theater. Grueat that LA performances are selling out. Likely a case for more theaters needed and/or longer seasons. Culture is a right and the Redcat’s box office is inadequate and inaccessible.
Great place to see daring Art.
Great combination of bar, exhibit, and film/ theater space for contemporary multimedia artists. It also hosts the Array film series sponsored by the Broad, which is amazing.
Love the experience of live entertainment, the skid row actors put on an excellent show.
Love red cat. Great shows
As always very nice to see a performance at the RedCat.This time it was a collaboration of our friend Katyha from Cambodia, with an American dancer... impressive ensemble. Its always confusing for us where/how to park for the RedCat... it took us three attempts of parking/walking/go back to the car....
Nice little theater tucked away in the Disney concert hall. You cant bring your drinks into the theater proper, even if you see other people do it.
An intimate theater with avant-garde Fair which is always a favorite of people visiting the Disney Center.
A great place to see wonderful and unique performances. Come early and get a drink at the bar!
Fantastic venue to see a performance, screening or talk... Very likely to make your brain work harder!
Not as accessible as I had hoped. But the performance was worth the extra drama... no pun intended.
Wonderful theatre for performance art
Please let me attend anything there gorgeous venue
World premier opera. What more could one want?
Nice theater for unusual & indi performances.
Come here during Christmas time youre gonna be amazed
Great blackbox theater, adventurous performances.
The Redcat reminds you that culture thrives in Los Angeles.
Its a coffee shop/bar... I mean, a gallery... Actually, a bookstore... Or rather, a black box theater...
Great place.
Fantastic space.
Love this venue
It was a great visit
Unusual performance art
Beautiful space!
Awesome
Great place
Great espresso
I have actually performed here in redcat!!!!
LA is here! Fruit from rust is finished today with Genepro. I dont understand English on the right, left, or English, and from a hotel to REDCAT for survival without Wi-Fi connection. Although I was only worried about the shooting, I was able to concentrate on the jet lag! First day tomorrow!#photobybozzo
Strong exposure. Excellent assembly.
Beautiful and cozy performance hall, located in the heart of a special area of theaters such as Staple, Disney and more.
