It’s nice to go in and talk with some that really knows what they are talking about, and that can really help you with the problem. This day and age, that knowledge is hard to come by. The people here really know their job.

As an older disabled Veteran with traumatic brain injury I struggle to deal with the public as most people are too aggressive, irrational, and threatening for my disability. It doesnt help when ideologues - Jay Insley/Kate Brown act with arrogant ignorance of Constitutional Law and the intent to make our communities unsafe for all citizens - especially those like me. Most of the time I am afraid to leave my house.The folks at Arts Automotive help me to feel safe in my community by offering me sincere service and the patience to help me understand what to expect and that means everything.

He said the Tech should have called me back right away. He then offered to refund all my money. Thank you Patrick for your Professionalism!!Worst Experience ever with a Repair Company!! My Wife dropped off my truck at 8 am for a trailer break control install issue. I had self-installed trailer break controls on my truck and ran into an issue with the controller. I called them at 10 am and asked that the Tech call me, as I could fill them in on what I had done and what my problem was. NO call back. I called two more times before someone called me back at 4 pm to tell me the “Tech” needed my truck for another full day. He was having trouble with finding out what the issue was. I told them, if they had taken the time to call me back, I could have told them what the issue was, and NO you cannot have my truck for another day! I went to pick up my truck, only to be charged $162.83 for NO Fix!! Yes, they had my truck for 8 hrs and could not figure out how to fix it. Well, I spent about an hour on Google and YouTube and found the Issue myself. Do not bother with this company, totally Unprofessional!!

Arts Electric came through with the starter I needed. They were professional and prompt in contacting me. I ordered a starter for my 72 Corvette. The next day Mike contacted me to tell me it was in. It was a specific starter like original, made in USA. Thanks for the personal service, I truly appreciate it.

My experience with Arts Automotive happened in 08/2020. It hasnt sat right with me and since I can see no other recourse, I am leaving this bad review. I took a vehicle in for a battery issue. I did not know at the time my battery was low in charge. They performed a diagnostic and charged $131.41. There are several items that are stated in the labor description, but I think if you brought a vehicle in with the symptoms I had, a battery charge test is the first thing I would do. They may have performed all the tests they say they did, but I dont see this as honest work. I see this as predatory. It makes since why I see such nice Arts Automotive company cars driving around in Longview, WA with the entire car being an advertisement. There was a large mark up on the battery I did buy from them, which I expect at a shop like this. Overall my charges were 274.93 for a battery change, oil change and the predatory diagnostic. I suppose I am the foolish one for trusting Arts. I definitely wont be doing that again and I hope you are careful as well. I dont think this is honest work but they certainly took my honest dollars. (Almost forgot, I had arranged to pick up my car after business hours. I asked the technicians to leave the key in under the mat. I stated I had a spare. I came to get my car after work and found the car unlocked, key inside. I glance up that homeless individual walking across the street, pushing a cart in this outskirt of town. I was glad I was the one to discover my car was unlocked. Unacceptable.)

Jumped the gun on leaving the review, Art’s is still a quality automotive shop at a good value. However, I’m starting to think that the technicians may rush on work and don’t check their work before they tell you a timeframe. So far my pick-up date and time has been pushed back multiple times because they had not checked to make sure they had everything they needed or to make sure what they had was functional. They do make sure to give your vehicle back in the best condition though seeing as I was told I’d be able to pick it up Friday and it’s now the following Wednesday. This is not a huge issue, they just need to slow it down a bit to ensure that they are giving more accurate time frames and finding exactly what they need to do before giving you those timeframes. Like I said, this is not a huge issue as I have a work vehicle. The main reason this is an issue is because my wife has had to wait around for 3 days only to find out that it is actually not going to be done when they said it would.I brought my 2001 F-250 in to Art’s because it had a bad vibration while driving down the road which ended up being my rear differential was falling apart. I had they fix my rear differential, replace both headlight housings, fixing the wiring for the headlights, ( Previous owner installed aftermarket headlights and did some backyard mechanic jimmy-rig), ran diagnostics for a check engine light, caught up on all required vehicle maintenance, did a complimentary safety inspection and the technician washed my truck! (They got it back a day later than they had thought and the tech felt bad even though when I dropped it off I had told them I had no time limit.) In my opinion, they do quality and thorough work, were extremely fast, have amazing customer service and go above and beyond what I have grown to expect from other automotive shops. You’re vehicle is an investment and a lifeline for some. Do yourself a favor and let Arts keep it in tiptop shape and ease your mind.

I’ve used Arts in the past and always liked the customer service as well as their technicians but Monday was a little different.I actually got a call from the technician to tell me about my vehicle which has never happened at other places I’ve gone to and I was only there for my electric seat! Also unknown to me was that Arts does oil changes!?!? I asked about that too and was surprised that you guys were 94 dollars cheaper than the place I usually take my truck!Usually I have the patients of a 2 year old and I want things done yesterday and just my luck the part my seat needed had to be ordered but no worries because not only is my seat getting fixed today I’m also getting my oil changed.. thanks Arts for everything I truly appreciate it!

Yet by phoning the local parts stores I was quoted $24.99 for the same belt? This has never happened to me at Arts before. I called immediately to inform them that parts obtained locally are substantially cheaper in price. Initial call to shop was answered professionally and courteously. Routed to service desk and Patrick was also friendly and informative. He asked me to swing by Monday morning, which I did and was pleasantly surprised. Rather than just quote some number out of a book, Patrick took the time to go out to the car to check some things and ended up determining that the bulb we needed replaced was quick and easy and he had it out, grabbed a new one from the shelf and had it installed before I realized what he was doing! I asked if they could fit me in for an oil change and he said, “sure,” and off we went to get that squared away. Watched all the employees interact with customers on the phone and the ones in person and each were greeted personally and genuinely - not the “I’m being forced to greet you and ask you how you’re doing, but I don’t really care” attitude observed in most places these days. Looking forward to coming back!

Only had to wait 4 days to get an appointment, compared to 2 weeks at other places. They didn’t communicate with me as much as I thought they should. I had to call them and they called me back to get the diagnostic information. They were not able to solve the issue and recommended installing a new motor.

Will never take one of my cars to these guys again dropped my 2014 mazda off there to have a vacuum leak fixed which was cause a misfir and a bunch of other stuff all they did was do an induction clean and charged me 640.00 for it was gonna be 800.00 but I talked them down and it never got fixed I did some research talked to another shop replaced a 30.00 dollar part and it was fixed

Terrible experience.Paid $162 for Nothing.I wasnt going to say anything, out of respect for past excellence. But their FOURTH prompt to leave a review has convinced me.Their free inspection turned out to cost $140(before tax), front desk person couldnt tell me the difference between the engine inspection that was necessary and the free one i was offered. Fine.Inspection comes back: Summary- your truck is healthy: we want $7300 for maintenence.Then they tell me they need to change all the spark plugs, thatll solve the strange sound in my engine same spark plugs it was sold with, these kind have a defect you need a special tool hmmm thats funny cause i changed them out myself LAST MONTH.But i know they at least looked at my spark plugs.... because when i chose not to have them do the work, they let me drive off WITHOUT one of my spark plugs!Truck was Parked outside the fence for days, gas was siphoned, nothing they could do...I dont know that Ill ever go back.

Car had literally died in the street due to a ruptured fuel line. Got it towed to Art’s based on google reviews. Y’all didn’t lie, they are extremely professional. They did a great job with the repair and also recommended other repairs based on looking at it. They didn’t do a computer diagnostic because as they said only Volvo dealers have the right kit. But they did a great job recommending repairs. Their pricing reflects the level of expertise they bring to the table so if you unlike myself are a DIYer or maintain your vehicle meticulously and it’s still having problems I would recommend them. Great friendly service and they even post pictures online for you of their vehicle inspection so if you don’t take them at their word you can review the evidence of their work for yourself. Great stuff

I was broke down at the Toutle River rest stop and called them because they have listed they specialize in BMWs. Otherwise I would have had to call someone in Vancouver or Portland. They offered to call a tow truck for me and have it towed to their location. The next morning I got a call that they fixed my car.. it needed a new battery!! And that it was ready for pick up.

Did a great job fixing heater fan problem but did not put the carpet back all the way and found bits of wire in the passenger seat and floor board!!

I took my car in with 2 issues needing to be fixed. They had my car for 7 hours and fixed my AC system but only diagnosed the other issue. No one ever called me with any update or to ask if I wanted to fix what they found in the diagnostic test. Annoyed that they only fixed one problem when I was clear I wanted both fixed.

I grew up with a family that owned a machine shop and found Art’s Automotive to be a wonderful place! Clean, efficient, professional, knowledgeable and super friendly! The prices are competitive and when you call they double check that they have all the parts needed for your vehicle. No waiting to get your vehicle in with an appointment and everything they have done is fully explained. No trying to talk you into repairs that are not necessary. I will always use this shop as long as I have a vehicle!!!

Very thorough in diagnostics. Car had started to overheat, losing coolant from a hard to reach/view area. It was discovered that a hose clamp had been installed wrong somewhere else in past. Repair was made. It cost about 50.00 more than I thought it should for the actual repair that was done but Car is running fine now. I do like the full inspection report they do on entire car, helps plan for future maintenance so to avoid costlier emergency repairs.

Arts always takes good care of me. Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. Theyve given me rides home to make things more convenient, and I am not that close. The one time they were wrong about an issue--and this was something nobody else had been able to diagnose or solve--they took responsibility without me asking, credited me for the full balance of the work, then performed the correct fix. Honest people and good mechanics, from what I have seen.

Battery and cable replaced by a young man who quickly diagnosed the problem and proceeded to install the replacement in a professional manner. Vehicle started right up once the work was completed.

I have had a very few opportunities to visit Arts over the last 30 years or more, but each time I am treated like a valued customer. Arts was recommended to me years ago as the place to go for auto and marine electric services and it has never disappointed. This visit they tested parts quickly, offered several alternatives with timelines and costs, which turned out to be right on time and a lower cost...how much better can it get? Oh, and the part fit perfectly first time and benefited from their installation suggestions.

I bought a car sight unseen. I called Arts being new in the area I have no experience with shops here. They were friendly and professional. Gave me a more than fair quote, including the logistics of a tow to the garage. They diagnosed car with a blown engine within 24 hours and although I will not be doing the repairs there, I will be going back for any further issues I have on mine and my families vehicles! I believe Melissa is who coordinated everything for me as her name is on the card, but either way both women and the man I spoke to were more than helpful! Definitely recommend!

Arts did a really good diagnostic and now I know my new to me GMC Yukon. They did fluid changes and repaired a low beam light that had its wiring burned off.

The work was satisfactory but the communication was terrible. From a failure to record my reservation for service to a failure to make a promised phone call to let me know it was finished....when it was clearly stated that I had a deadline and was waiting for the vehicle/phone notification. Just simple calls to update and inform would have made my experience less anxious. Very disappointed in how you relate to customers. It will impact my future decisions to bring work to you.

For over thirty years the staff at Arts has treated me well personally and in a business relationship! Most recently I made a phone call and sent pictures of an alternator in a performance application from the Snake River and Kevin was able to get me up and running in two days of making the call. Went to Arts to have my battery checked. Was told it was bad. They wanted to charge me nearly $300 to replace it. I asked if they could pull it out out for me so I could exchange it myself using my warranty on the battery. Literally 4 bolts removed to take it out. Was told it would cost me $150 to have them remove my battery. I nearly fell out of my chair. I scoffed a little, and was told that if I didnt like their pricing I could go elsewhere. Melissa in the front office was extremely rude and I did not appreciate her attitude. I was able to get my battery out on my own, replace it, put back in for $112. A brand new Napa, high quality battery. Soooooooooo....do what you want with that info. I was in no way expecting a hand out. Or anything done for free. Im simply a single mom trying to get my car squared away. Car issues are a big stressor. I will not be going back. Which is unfortunate because the fella that helped me was very nice. Very professional. Businesses need to teach phone etiquette to their office help. Plain and simple.
