My kid enrolled in LB YMCA, so their strategy really encourages you to enroll the membership. Based on my experience at Fairview, the instructor was late for the class, the worse experience I had was the class was 30 mins late. Not worth the money.

Took visiting relatives for a pool day, went really well. Great time, friendly staff. Now I am taking my baby for swim lessons.

If I could give them a no star I would, the reason is that the one in charge only cares about is the money. All she mentions is the money, money, money that they need. Well, the way she says it is money for her and not really for the YMCA. She gets upset every time I would remind her that the prices that are for members are not no prices for low income people. That is ridiculous that they put them prices so dame high so once they apply the discount that they apply it still comes up being high, I mean really high. Then, she states that they need to pay this, they need to pay that, and not just that, her source(income). To me that sounded like all she wanted was peoples money to get paid well.As for this branch this is terrible that they are charging so much for a tiny gym and not much of machines to choose from. Also, there open schedule is terrible so much charge for so little time of having the business open. Not good! I think that the this low income price is not really a low income like they state up front.

Marina (who sometimes works the front desk) is very professional, very kind & always has the accurate information/ answers to my questions. However, everyone else at the front desk will tell you false information. One girl is always on her cell phone when shes working the front. The lifeguards (women and men) are NOT FRIENDLY & VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Just yesterday around 5pm, I seen a woman asking them questions (about the rules) it was obviously her & her kids first time at the pool & the guards were mimicking her & laughing together about it.Also, when I signed up they told me that I could put my almost 2 year old baby in their playroom for 2 hours while I work out. I found out on my 1st day of checking him in that its only 1 hour!!!!! Not 2. Again, with the wrong info.

Horrible y. Right when I walked in through the door last week to sign my child up for summer day camp was kids running around crazy outside while a staff member just stood there with her arms crossed checking her phone! Ended up not signing her up along with the rude attitude I received from front desk just for asking a question. Please save your money and take your kids to Lakewood

I felt the need to comment after reading the one star review of this YMCA. I have been coming to this YMCA for years and I feel that it performs admirably if you want a low-key place to get your exercise in. Yes, the pool is busy in the summertime when the kids are not in school but I have never had a problem getting a lane to swim in (early mornings and lunches are less busy). And the staff has always been accommodating to my needs.

The locker rooms are always out of soap. Wear flipflops. Gym is clean, however I am a swimmer and the hours for lap swimming dont work for me because I work and by the time I get home from my commute swim lessons or swim team etc need the whole pool. I paid extra to use the different locations, however I have the same problem with the Lakewood pool. I am still a member so my family can go. I would totally pay a little extra if they could add the Torrance location more than a couple of times a month. That pool is awesome and on my way home and always has a lane at times that works for me.

If i can give this place a zero i would. where do i begin, first of all I cannot stand the directors Angelica Cortes or Leticia Leo. its all about the money for these women just like the above reviews mention they are not here for the community only the money. They are the most disrespectful women i ever encounter they overprice gym membership $100 month childcare $1,000 exactly what were paying for sure not quality this place is dump and rip-off. Not to mention there roach problem, while i was using the restroom a roach went pass my foot and my daughter mention to me that she saw a family of water bugs in the children restroom. Additionally, she was given spoiled milk from childcare and had to spend the night in the hospital. I tried mentioning both incidents to both directors. they never returned my call, then i went up there Angelica rudely ignored me and slammed her office door, every time i try to speak to this she role her eyes twitching like she has trec syndrome so unprofessional. Leticia is more interest in finding hiding locations and spying on the girls in childcare with her paper and pen. one time i went up there this women was in the kitchen pretending to be doing something while watching them girls like a hawk. feel so sorry for the ladies the girls two Hispanic and one black girl they are the sweetest. unlike theyre boss, i can only imagine how they feel walking on egg shell constantly being watched creates a hostile work environment. they dont deserve that and can do better. she should know just like you are watching them someone is watching you. Lastly, i wanted to know if i can get the licence number to this faculty because this place is dirty, fitly, cramped, and roach infested. Please avoid this place if possible dont send your child there all inner city kids your child come home never the same and mangers are awful and its a rip-off.

Terrible Y. The pool is filthy, the bathrooms are filthy. The whole Y is centered around kids--and thats great. Just dont pretend that adults can swim or take any good classes. Really pathetic.
