I bring my car here for regular check ups. They are very reliable and do great work. Recently there was a problem with the transmission. I brought it to a dealership to get it fixed and they told me it was going to cost me 6K. Rather than make a mistake of automatically replacing a transmission, I took it to Rockys and they diagnosed it down to needing a new speed sensor and solenoid. Not only did they save me a lot of time and money but it reaffirms my trust in this mechanic shop.

Quality local work and fair pricing. 3 stars because a 2 PM appointment doesnt mean anything, and 5 hours is way too long to be waiting. My car wasnt even taken into the garage until 3 PM. The time quote was for about 1.5 hours to replace the rear brake pads and resurface the rotors with front wheel rebalancing, pretty standard time just about anywhere. Around $200-$220 is normal as well for the entire services including $10 per tire for balancing x2. Finally checked out at 7 PM, waited the entire five hours on site. The other reason for 3 stars is they changed my oil and never asked me if that was okay or confirmed the service in any way! Who does that?!PROS:- Quality work.- Fair pricing and some room to negotiate. Take cash and cards.- Easy parking in off street lot.- Rocky is a nice guy, but may upsell you.- Waiting room with two couches, tons of magazines, basic cable TV, and a bathroom attached which is big enough for a wheelchair with railing and was cleaner than expected for an auto shop. They keep a scented candle burning too.- Have a good relationship with the neighborhood.CONS:- Watch the upsells. Especially without asking for your permission!- Make sure all services are approved.- Appointments are pointless.- Time scheduling could be better.

Great service, fast and efficient. Dropping off my car was super easy and even though they were very busy they were nice and helpful. My car was done within a day. Manny was super kind and explained everything that was wrong with my car thoroughly and upon pick up he showed me all the parts he had replaced and even showed me pictures of the before and after. This was the worst place to take your car. I took my Honda and they returned it to me worst than i gave it to them. They lost bolts to places they should even of touched. Low prices for the cheap work they do. Went in there with 1 problem, came out with 3 new problems. on top of that, he didn’t know what he was talking about, they act like they know about cars when they are going based of what THEY THINK, I DONT NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

This is a wonderful establishment, built on classic family values and good old fashioned business ethics! I called ahead of time and was helped by a polite gentleman on the phone. When I arrived the business owner Rocky helped me immediately and made me feel very comfortable..he even showed me his selection of products in the back to assure me that he only uses the best quality products. Halfway thru the process of getting my oil changed, he let me know that I was getting a sweet deal as his first time customer! When the process was finished I felt very happy with the work, the business owner and the price. PLUS, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the owner reassured me that he would never take advantage of me and sell me services and products I dont need (as a woman with very little car repair experience, I felt very comfortable bringing my business and auto needs to Rockys Auto Service). I will definitely be coming back here for my future auto repair and maintenance needs!!!

Car emergencies are not so bad when you have an incredible professional mechanic to help. I brought in my Jeep Liberty after seeing my engine light was on and it was starting to shake while accelerating. I recently just drove my Jeep from Colorado and seeing as I just moved here I didn’t know what mechanic to take my car to get it looked at. I was in the Long Beach area and was doing my research and Rocky’s Auto service came up. Seeing how promising the reviews were I decided to take my car in. My interaction with Rocky throughout the whole process was great. He would call me to tell me what we’re the issues of my Jeep. I believe that with everything he and his team did the the price was fair, I’m sure if I took it to another mechanic or dealership it would have been more. He fixed a lot and I’m glad he reassured me that he wanted to make sure that everything would be fixed so I wouldn’t have any other problems in the near future. If you need a good mechanic and live in the Long Beach area I highly suggest that you go to this place. Especially being a woman it’s hard not to feel like mechanics are scamming you with prices and unnecessary fixes, but here at Rocky’s Auto I didn’t feel like that at all. He explained everything to me that had to be fixed, he even showed me all the changes he did. Overall I’m happy that I went to this shop and got my Jeep fixed by them.

I dont know how they do it, I drive out of this place feeling like I stole something. Rocky seems to know mechanics are generally not trusted, but I always leave feeling like I got the better end of the deal. This is my shop, if I needed service out of town Id be sad to have to go somewhere else.

Everyone has their days... Today we needed people like joe (the shop owner) & his team. We called after 4pm, arrived a little after 5, shop closes at 6pm. We were outta there by 5:38pm. My husband watched as they worked on our car, right next to the technician working on our car, not that we didnt trust him, but more of a learning experience for future reference. They made us feel comfortable, we did not once did we feel as if we were intruding. Very professional, helpful, reasonable pricing. We will definitely be returning.

These guys were awesome.I (very unfortunately) had a rat that got inside and stuck in the fan and they cleaned it all out for me!Definitely worth the money...No way would I get in there to clean it out myself...nooo thanks.I dropped off my car in the morning and picked it up a few hours later. They were so friendly and I’ll definitely go back when I need more service. I think they’ll remember me and my smelly car for a while. :)

Rocky was great! I took my car to a dealership to get my brakes changed, and they tried to scare me into buying more services than I needed. I decided it was time to find a local mechanic, and went to Rockys. He took me to my car on the shop floor, measured the rotor width, and showed me the manufacturers guidelines for when to replace rotors. It all made sense to me and gave me piece of mind. And he didnt try to sell me stuff I didnt want! Thousands of miles later, the brakes are still on point. Ill definitely be going back to Rockys for my 100,000 mile service.

Best mechanic Ive ever met in my life! My wife had an electrical problem tied to the integrated power circuit in her 2008 Dodge Avenger. I took the car to another mechanic who failed miserably and left the car in shambles with wires everywhere. The dodge dealer estimated the repairs at $4,000 which was the value of the car. I took the car to Rocky as a last resort and not only did he fix it for only $1300, he did the alignment and car runs better than ever before. My wife is all smiles now and I will bring every car I own to Rocky first thing in the future. Thank you Rocky for saving our family car!

I was over by 50K miles on changing these out.New break calipersAll the work was done and I could notice the difference as I rolled off the lot. Thank you Rocky for great customer service as well.

I only needed transmission fluid added and Rocky quoted me 85$ labor plus the cost of material and needed an hour minimum to do it. Jiffy Lube charged me 16$ and only took 5 minutes. Glad i read the reviews and didnt get overcharged.

Listen, if youve ever needed a mechanic, chances are youve run into your share of bad ones. Youve probably seen dateline episodes regarding being scammed by mechanics too. Rockys is not one of those places!Joe, the manager, is probably the best shop manager Ive ever met. His mechanics, they are out of this world.Gave these guys the BIGGEST challenge, and they did not disappoint! Trust the reviews on this shop, they definitely deserve them!Brought them an 02 BMW Convertible that had been sitting in my garage for more than 3 years. It needed EVERYTHING! On top of that, had a an issue with the convertible top. I was advised that they dont specialize in convertibles, but they werent afraid to look into it. They go out of their way to get the parts you need at the cheapest price (oem obviously)! They arent the typical mechanics shop that charges per item by all-data hours, instead, they charge you by hours worked. If they can find a way to shorten the time they have to spend, they will, this saving you even more money!But its the mechanic named Homar that is the true STAR of this shop! Homar is a young, go getter that isnt afraid of ANYTHING mechanical! This type of mechanic is the RAREST to find, trust me, Im a freak when it comes to choosing a mechanic! Homar is the kind of guy who will not let a gremlin issue get away from him! Hes also the guy that wont let a simple issue cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars unless its absolutely necessary, and those situations are the ones he doesnt take lightly! He treats your car as if its his mothers, if he doesnt feel its completely fixed, he wont you let you drive it away! This guy not only had my car for three weeks+ for which I paid for a rental out of my pocket but apparently jerry rigged it to only last a week and then it had the EXACT same problem and worse. I had to buy a new car it was that bad. DO NOT TRUST HIM OR THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. Smooth talking rip off.

My wife and I took our car to Rockys Auto. We spoke with main guy,Rocky, and he said that our vehicle need this and that....Ok. We paid almost $1000.00 for repairs. We took the car the next day it sounded ok, but then the car started to make noise and shake, and it never did that before. My wife addressed the issue to Rocky and he said well when you fix a car, then another problem will occur/happens.... Rocky then said the it does not have motor mounts or that they need new ones! What a total rip-off! He just wanted to make more money instead of taking responsibility for his boot-leg job! I would not recommend this Wiesel and Charlatan too anyone! He comes out at you that he is honest and a Christian! What a hypocrite!

Bad customer service when i first got there they was yelling at a customer. I came in because my car wouldnt start. So they told me they will look at it and call me when they are done they never called me i called 3 days later and all he said is that he dont know i call 3 days later and he said the same thing i dont know dude. I called a week later and i talked to some other guy he said he would give me a call in 5 to 10 minutes about my car never called me back so i went up there and my car has been sitting in the parking lot for 4 days they should of call me and told me its nothing they can do or something.

Rockys a thieve. my neighbor went there for a tune up got a quote for 1000$, my dad told him to get a second quote at long beach auto repair 2 blocks from there. was quoted 250$. no kidding. dont go here. save money . the guys out to rip people off.

I just picked up my truck from Rockys shop and am extremely happy with the outcome. This plave cant be beat on service, price and timeliness. Thats all you really need to know. But the story is below.My truck brokedown late at night so i had it towed using my AAA membership to their overnight storage at a dealership. The draler called in the morning and proceeded to run their overpriced diagnostic. They called a gew hours later with an expensive quote for the repairs. I called around a few places and they wanted close to what the dealer did, were to busy to talk, would take days to finish, wouldnt provide a quote, wanted me to call back a number of times. But when i called Rocky he greeted me on the phone energetically and wanted to see what he could do to get my business. He is a business man. Working hard to provide great customer service and live up to the many reviews on Google and yelp.After he quoted the price it was still more affordable then the dealer and thats after paying for another tow and losing the diagnostic fee. I decided to take my truck yo his shop. Rocky was there to greet me, sold his services and promised to provide the mosy affordable solution he could. By the next day ghe repairs were done and came in less than what was expected.All in all great experience.
