They try to advertise as having a workout room, but nearly all of the equipment is out of order/broken and hasnt been fixed in years. When they finally did get someone in make repairs, he didnt fix the equipment correctly, so.... still broken. That was like 6 months ago and you best believe other equipment has broken in the meantime with no hope of repair. Its pretty pathetic. When doing tours, management used to take people through the workout room, but now they dont for OBVIOUS reasons. And there is a complete turnover in management/staff on average about every 6 months/a year, which results in zero follow-through on problems. Get it together, Alvista Long Beach! This complex has seriously fallen into disrepair and disorganization over the years. I dont want to stick around to see how much further it can fall apart. Not to mention drunk and sloppy college students being loud at all hours. And more recently rowdy, drunk adult neighbors who are seriously unstable and volatile, loud, sometimes screaming late at night. The whole place is really going downhill. It shouldnt be so difficult to just get a decent nights sleep in your own apartment! Management takes no action. Matters have probably gotten worse because they got rid of the overnight security guard about a year ago. Really just unacceptable. And EXPENSIVE. Rent goes up every year even as the condition of the complex deteriorates. Too pricey to be this shady and broken down.

Stayed in Alvista for around an year . The apartment situated at the heart of long beach with easy access to airport, rental car showrooms, freeway and grocery shops(Vons) and restaurants..Chipotle is just in walk able distance..Leasing management and maintenance staff were good with prompt response for any issues. we found them always helpful especially Alexandra.Location is good.

My wife and I have been living here close to 1 year now and we have experience a great improvement of the total area here. They are continually remodeling units here. Also, anything that will save money for the residents the Corporation will make the necessary changes needed. When we have an issue with our unit, the office personnel will respond relatively fast. We have great lighting all around the complex parking area. I am grate to have a Security Officer on premises also. The Manager and the entire staff are always willing to assist you with any problem with great service. We have 3 swimming pools and 1 fitness center. We also love living in the entire location by the traffic circle area. This is a great place to live.

Never had issues with bugs or anything of the sort. I enjoy the area but you cant get through to the office when you call and when i spoke to the office about it they were aware of the problem but made no indication as to if it would be fixed. ALSO, the apartment services I pay for seem to fluctuate, which doesnt make sense as its the same service every month.

The newly renovated apartments are great. But for as expensive as the rent is, I expected the amenities to be better. Almost every laundry room has broken washers and dryers and Ive spent close to 20 dollars (because they are card operated) in just trying to redry clothes either because the dryers dont dry them on the first try or they are sopping wet from the washers not working properly. Ive lived her for only 4 months but its been an issue for as long as Ive been a resident. Maintenance is great with home issues though, always quick to fix issues and office staff is helpful.

I did this review on yelp as well... I hope this helps someone out there. There are so many complexes in Long Beach other than this place, please SAVE YOURSELF FROM MISERY as Im typing this we are about to be in the middle of a complaint against Alvista and its management company Conam with the city. If I can give them zero stars I would.Where do I start:-I moved in towards the end of March we never even saw our own unit the first night there I woke up with welts from BEDBUGS!!!!!! Please see pictures attached.-Cockroaches and Rats as you shower everyday of your life. As you wash dishes, cockroaches in both bathrooms and this without even our apartment being furnished.-Rude LEASING OFFICE unprofessional and indecent human beings they take advantage of international students whose afraid to speak up. So they feel like they can treat people whichever way-UNSAFE filed two police reports and toldThe leasing office without even a follow up.-Maintenance just knocks on your door and says hey in ten minutes we are shutting off the water without a 24 hour notice and lied to us saying it was an emergency. Theyve been working on our building two days prior with the same problem and now its an emergency. If I would have just paid attention to this review my life would have been so much easier we are moving out in 30 Days And we cannot wait I hope this review helps someone not to move in there please!

This apartment complex is ran more like a college dorm... Every time you go outside the gate you get locked out! The appliances in some of the units do not work! They need more professional services to fix and replace appliances and spray for bugs.

There are many on-site staff that are able to help you throughout most of the day. Pools and gym are clean. Janitor noticed I was having trouble lighting the Bbq and immediately stepped in to help. Had a kitchen light replaced within 2 hours by the complex. Neighbors are nice.

Just dont. It looks great and some people do love it, but I HATED it. Our bathtub would constantly get clogged and when we called maintainence, they took at least a week to get back to us. Our windows were broken from the start. Our carpets were clean but there were some dirty spots left from the old tenants. There were at least 5 cockroaches on the first day we moved in (2 being alive and 3 dead in the closet). How does that even happen. When we moved out, we only got a quarter of our deposit back and the charges are clearly explained. Overall, bad experience. The price is not worth it. Never coming back!

We have lived here for 6 years. I have saved our building from burning down by putting out a dryer fire while everyone else took videos(Got no thanks from management, only from fire department). We have saved a domestic abuse victim by calling police multiple times(Told the management which did nothing) Have had 4 different drug dealer/user incidents with neighbors which management has done nothing about. Revolving door management, and today our apartment flooded from rain and when I went to office and said our apartment is flooded the response was “get a boat” and “we will put in a maintenance request” Are you kidding me????!!!!!!I look forward to having my attorney contact the property owner and the response I will get when they have to put us up in a hotel while they do drywall mold inspections, repairs, etc. We like our apartment, just hate the way we are treated and lack of response to problems.

Looks can be deceiving....Nice and friendly for sure but once we took a tour ended up finding a lot of bugs and both of townhouse an the 2 bedroom apartment carpet was not clean all they do is paint over. Did ask if the arrangements ever get fumigated and she couldnt answer that question. Just nasty she told use we could move in tomorrow but after looking at how dirty they try to cover up the apartment there was no way in hell I would ever consider moving there...

CSULB STUDENTS BEWAREVERY POOR STAFFI decided to live here because of the close proximity to the Cal State campus but as soon as I moved in I realized I had made the worst mistake. It seems like the only good thing this hell of an apartment complex has going for them is the location. I have to say the worst part about living here is the lies that I am consistently hearing from the staff. On the day I signed the lease the woman in the front told me the entrance gate was open because of the rain and it would be closed again the next day. Five months later here we are and the gate has not been closed once since I moved in. Anyone could just walk onto or drive onto the property and do whatever they wanted, like sift through the trash in the middle of the night making an inconsiderate amount of noise. The complex in its entirety is noisy at all hours. The amount of BUGS in my apartment and every other apartment is ridiculous. I got BED BUGS as soon as I moved in, and let me reassure that I did not have bed bugs before moving in. The water bugs come up out of the drains overnight. Ten or fifteen a day I have to kill. There are ants everywhere, not just in the kitchen but everywhere. There are roaches everywhere too and it is downright disgusting. And god forbid the Alvista staff doing anything about it but tell me lies about how they are going to take care of it.Never had I had a maintenance request filled in a timely manner. I had to beg the man in the office to call the maintenance people to come fix my leaky faucet that had flooded my kitchen. He wanted me to wait until Monday to get it fixed even though I had requested to have it done during business hours on a Friday. The parking is 75$ A MONTH which is outrageous. The laundry rooms are gross. Only one out of the three dryers work and the washing machines leak everywhere. They turned off my water for an hour without notifying me in advance because they were renovating the apartment next to mine. When I moved in five months ago, we had made a list of everything that needed to be fixed. Five months later not a single thing on that list has been repaired. I have reminded the staff multiple times to fix these things but still no sign of repair. The head woman had promised me a new mirror months ago. My front door is too big for the doorway making it difficult to open and close. The shower has two knobs for cold. The bedroom door doesnt stay closed. The air conditioning is just a cheap portable air conditioner with a tube that goes outside. There is no light in the living room. There is wiring and a light switch but no light which seems like a waste.Overall the prices are high for such a poorly managed dump. DO NOT LIVE HERE if you: hate bugs because you will inevitably be infested with them; hate the smells of trash all the time; like things to be fixed at all; like your laundry to actually be dry when you take it out of the dryer; dont want weirdos and random people walking around whenever they please because they cant figure out how to close the gates; want to park for a reasonable price or even want to live in a simple apartment for a reasonable price. I cannot WAIT for my lease to be up so I can leave this junky overpriced nightmare.

Not poor to fair. Just poor.Dont move here, unless you want to be awakened 6 days a week at 8 a.m. by jackhammers and circular saws. Or if you dont mind having to pass through a slit of plastic to get into your apartment. Or you like mud and dust everywhere, inside and out. Or workers coming in and out. Or having a 2 ft by 2 ft hole in your living room, covered by a mere piece of plywood...FOR OVER A MONTH. Or if you dont mind receiving a random letter one day informing you that your balcony will be removed next week.Seriously, how long does it take to replace and plaster a window? Not a month. They really expected me to live there with the cold and the light? No blinds?I guess I should have known when I moved in, and they said they were renovating? No. They showed pictures of the facade of the front office. Not pictures like the ones Im going to post here. When I walked into my apartment with the rental agent and said, its so big and beautiful, and look, a balcony! She never mentioned that I would only be enjoying it for 5 months. Or that I would spend my entire winter break at my moms because of the mess and the noise. Also, when you call and complain, they dont call you back. Looks like Ill be researching renters rights. This place is terrible.Even before the renovations, which have been going on for 2 months, and are scheduled to last 3 more weeks on my building... yeah right...Even before all this, the laundry room was always flooded, the gym door wouldnt open, so you couldnt work out after hours. Theres trash everywhere. This place is over-priced and terrible. And the mailman or fedex or sparklets are always in your parking spot, which costs $75 a month. Or random people are parked there. And when you complain, they say deal with it. Not kidding. That was one response I got. Another response was, call a tow truck. What tow truck?! Why dont you call the tow truck!!! And now my spot has been moved all the way across the complex because of construction.Dont you love the HR response to your complaints? The office never returns my calls. They did not contact me after my review. It took them calls and calls and weeks and weeks to fix the laundry room and then they increased the cost to use the machines.Construction still going on. Rude construction boss.My car was towed out of my spot on the morning of a final. they paid and had it returned, but major inconvenience. Someone is in my spot nearly every night. The manager Kris never returns my calls or emails. He makes promises and doesnt deliver. Ive had to call the management company and the actual nationwide company that owns the property.I reported a major change in my water pressure, they told me it was just an old building. 6 months later, water pressure completely gone. They came in and replaced the shower head and now I have amazing (relative) water pressure. They just had to do that 6 months ago, but instead they are too lazy and incompetent. This place is terrible. The pool is a hole in the ground. The gym, which was always locked after 6 due to a broken door handle has been moved into an apartment, and no one said anything about it. I happened upon it a month ago. So much for amenities. Like I said before, gross laundry room. SO noisy with construction, now in its 7th month. Dangerous too.Good thing Ive taken plenty of photos and videos of the shenanigans.
