We just bought this home and arrived to find no A/C. We made many calls trying to find someone to come that day with no luck. Able Air Conditioning and Heating was able to fit us in and came over very quickly and got us fixed up. Sam was just excellent. This is definitely my new go-to air conditioning and heating company!
Not being from the area I was skeptical of just picking any company. I researched and selected Able based on reviews. With that, I am VERY pleased with their professionalism and truly impressed by their sincere interest in solving my issue. Able will be my go to source for future AC repairs.
I absolutely love this company, our AC stopped cooling properly on 5 Sept 2020. I am new to the area, so I wasnt real sure who to call, Able was the first company that answered my call. I spoke to the owner Sam he got someone out that day, the techs name is Michael, great technician, called was on time and explained my options, we went with adding Freon. One week later the unit was not cooling again Sam had already told me lets see if this does the trick for awhile, since we are the new homeowner and Able had he not worked on the unit in the past, he wanted to see how it would do before we incurred any more costs. The cost to fix would have been a band aid so we decided to go with a new unit, again options were addressed immediately for new unit costs. Sam and I talked on Thursday he ordered everything the same day and him and the Able team installed Friday, he even called Trane and got them moving on a order miscue concerning delivery so that did have to be wait all weekend for a Monday delivery. This morning (Saturday) the main breaker was malfunctioning, I called same at 0600, he was out here putting a new breaker in for no additional cost by 0800. I want to add that he deducted some of the initial Freon cost and gave us a 10 % military discount on the new equipment. I sincerely want to thank Sam, Michael, and Danny for being awesome. This is my 3rd time using Able over the last 6 years and it is clear that HONESTY and INTEGRITY are what this company is all about!!! Unlike a number of there competitors who were shown the door after trying to sell me a new system, Able has successfully kept my 17 yr old system humming for years. I spoke with the owner, Sam, and his experience working for a big corp clearly left him with no other choice but to start his own business as he just could not subscribe to the big corp practices of selling folks a bunch of stuff they dont need. Folks, this guy is the real deal! His technicians are great friendly guys who do great work. When my curret system does eventually fail i will again hire Able to install the new system as they have earned and deserve my business! I had 2 a/c units quite working in Sunday morning and called Able A/C and he was here by noon. Diagnosed both units and had them repaired and out of here before 2. It took that long because of a part he needed and picked up.
I have used them twice after having horrible experiences with a different company. Able has been quick to come repair, are professional, and prices have been fair! Thank you for saving us from melting!

Our a/c stopped working at 2am, in July, on a Saturday, during a heat advisory. My husband spent 6 hours trying to fix it himself. He had been talking off and on with owner and finally decided to give up and turn it over to an expert. 30 minutes later, we once again have air conditioning.

UPDATE August 6, 2020: Still my goto AC company. My home AC stopped working last night. I called and left a message after hours. My call was returned by Sam this morning and they arrived within a half hour. Sam fixed a problem with the drain and all is good again. Fast, efficient, reasonable cost. I own 2 rental properties and depend on fast service.I get it with Sam at Able AC.Why use use Able A/C? Sam at Able A/C saved me from getting scammed out of $3,600+.A/C was shutting off and coming back on during they heat of the day. I called an A/C company to check it out. With minimal diagnostics the tech said my compressor was bad. He said he could install another one with a one year warranty (over $1500 total cost) or I could buy a new outside unit 10 year warranty for $3800.Something was fishy. I called Able A/C for a second opinion. After a detailed analysis Sam found that my coolant was 5 pounds overcharged. After he reclaimed it everything works normally.From the invoice: [[[Answered concerns about the compressor going bad found system overcharged by 5 pounds causing internal pressure release valve to open. Subcooling was 52 target 8-15. Condensing temp target was 115-120 and it was 155. Removed refrigerant to get system working at manufacturers operating specs. Subcool is now 10 condensing temp 118. All work is professionally done.]]]My coolant was overcharged when another company did a system check a few months ago. That tech said my cold temp was a bit too high so he bumped up the coolant (and the bill to pad his commission apparently), plus caused the problem Able A/C fixed.Moral to the story: Sam at Able A/C in Long Beach is an honest man and you can count on getting great service at a great price. I am very glad I called them for a second opinion. Before you spend big bucks call them for the second opinion. You will thank me later.
