Course in great shape. Staff is a bit to be desired. Will spend my money somewhere else. Lightning in the area.ask for a 9 hole rain check. Was told I heard you were hitting multiple shots. Last I heard if you hit a ball that may be lost you hit a provisional and look for the orginal. Disappointing.
We hosted a bridal shower for my daughter on Saturday. Val had worked with me every step of the way. She made it so easy to plan everything. I would highly recommend Prairie Bluff for any occasion you are having. The room was beautiful, the service was fantastic and everyone had a great time. Thank you so much Val for making this possible! We will be back in the future.Karen Gibbons
This place is ridiculous. i have called at LEAST 9 TIMES!!! the girl valerie that is supposed to handle room bookings has gotten back to me ONCE. i have asked to speak to ANYONE that can help me book a room. i am always told the same thing...leave a message for valerie and she will help you. VALERIE DOE NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS! i dont understand how a place like this can continue to do business when they dont care to handle their customer service needs! what a joke. guess we are not booking our party here!
Early morning golf is bad time, very crowded even when practicing your putting or playing 9 or 18 holes. Afternoon is best less crowded means you do not have to rush your game.
Great time at a party in the banquet area. Food was great. Nice dance floor.
Great course. Conditioning out here always seems to be top notch. Can be challenging, but also a bit generous as well.
Nice driving range. Plenty of room for all golfers to practice.
Course is great, as well as the staff. Only downside is the price, but all courses are pricey anymore unfortunately!
Not a bad track. Not a lot of trouble as long as you keep it in the wide fairways. The native grass is pretty unforgiving. But, you are also not supposed to hit it in there. The course is an easy walk if need be. Fast paced round in just over 3 hours for a 4 some.
Nice course not super challenging but tough enough. Bit windy because it is wide open. Great staff good food and nice cold beer..!
Course was in great shape, staff was not welcoming!
It was my first time playing here today. It was a little confusing at first in regards of where to go when you first get there, but after you find the pro shop it gets much easier. The staff are super helpful and very nice, the course is absolutely beautiful, and it is relatively forgiving. Also, you can see Statesville Prison in the background, which is pretty cool. Overall, my first experience here was wonderful, and I look forward to playing here again soon!
The staff was fantastic! Had my dads celebration of life and everything was great!!
Wide open always windy. No really unique holes boring
Great course.
Greens in gr8 shape for all the traffic. Friendly help in clubhouse. Definitely be back...
Open fairways and well maintained! Great staff found a lob wedge I lost a couple holes back and found me on the course to return it!
Weather wasnt great but course was in good shape. Has a good time.
Course is always in fantastic shape and the staff and management are incredibly personable. Steve and Scott run a tight show on the golf side, and it shows every time I go there. Ryans team in the grill have the food and service on point every time as well! Can never go wrong with Prairie Bluff.
We had our wedding there on Saturday, 9/15/18. It was absolutely perfect. The ceremony outside was gorgeous. Inside the banquet room was like a dream. Ryan (food and beverage manager) went above and beyond to make sure our family and friends had everything they needed. He was respectful, attentive, and organized. It was a pleasure working with him and Prairie Bluff to ensure our wedding was everything we hoped for.
One of the more interesting and enjoyable course lay outs. Tee to green- excellent condition. Plenty of amenities around the course, spike brushes, cold water, Gatorade and restrooms. Top marks.
Great staff, superb golf conditions, and the food is always good.
You dont have to play golf to enjoy this club house restaurant. The specialty is Pot Roast but youll also find plenty of other great tasting dinners, burgers, wine and drinks. Enjoy your meal on the patio overlooking the golf course. The prices make it all the better. Service, food and ambiance add up to a great time. Recommended.
Why cant this course figure out how to get people through in less than 5 hours? Such a nice course and they talk big about pace of play but rangers do nothing. Enforce what tees to play from, enforce ready golf, enforce something. You shouldnt have open holes in front of you, that aint rocket science. Great bar, great food, great course, just too damn slow every damn time.
Prairie Bluff is a must if youre in the area. Not too challenging, yet offers enough to the most seasoned player. Pace is good and rangers on the course ensure of it. Luke and his crew are always ensuring the best conditions from tee to green. The value is outstanding if you want a true links-style experience. PB Mulligans (restaurant) is warm and accommodating with fantastic food and drink options at a good price. Course pros Steve and Scott Lunde run this course with love and deep knowledge of the game. They have the ability to teach from a scratch golfer to a 30 handicap and everyone in between. Prairie Bluff is truly one of Illinois best courses and has been my go-to for nearly 15 years.
Great staff, course is in good shape. Nice outdoor bar area with TVs.
Decent links style course. Didnt go inside so I cant speak to it.
One of the few places with pleasant staff around. Wish I could grab some cheaper late tee times but I understand. Always worth the price when I can get out
I wish I could give 10 stars! Had my daughters baby shower there yesterday and cannot say how perfect it was thanks to Ryan and all the great staff there. Food was EXCELLENT and the price for the event so very reasonable! My new GO-TO place for family events. No stress and everything I hoped for.
The course was in great shape! Was a bit crowded for a Thursday morning. I got stuck behind two super slow groups, but that’s not the courses fault. Tee boxes were in great shape, and greens were also given how busy this course is. Had some tough holes and some nice open ones. Would definitely play here again.
Very well maintained course! It’s challenging but not so much that the average golfer will get frustrated. You get fantastic service at the bar and pro shop. We were not bothered even once by a ranger which is a huge plus as that’s been more and more of a problem lately at various courses...Highly recommended.
The staff was and is great. The food??? Delicious!!! The manager, Ryan went above and beyond to make sure my wedding reception went smooth. Everyone is friendly and sociable. This is a must stop.
Atmosphere was nice on the patio The food was good as were the prices. We were there on a Thurs and the entertainment was very good but wr wished we were sitting further away. It was very busy so the service was slow
Wide open public course. Great for beginners.
We had a Celebration of Life get together at Prairie Bluff last weekend and with the help and guidance of the very capable Ryan Cronholm the day was all we could have hoped for.The buffet luncheon was plentiful and delicious, the staff attentive, the decor lovely and Ryan was never far away, ready to assist. And the price was quite reasonable.
It had been a couple of years since we had been there. It is a great track to walk. Not a lot of hill and short distances between the holes. Course was in great shape especially after all the rain we had been having. The rough was especially rough because of the rain. If you have the opportunity to play you should!
Great space for a wedding shower or banquet. The breakfast buffet was fresh & delicious.
Always in great shape, fun course. Highly recommended!
We had a good time, music was great, food was great.
It was a quality course. Great day until we reached the bar after hole 9. The seasoned bar staff was rude and refused to serve us beverages in glass because she had us on a five minute timer. The course was empty. She could have been much more pleasant regarding rule enforcement. Prairie Bluff Management should consider new staffing.
We had my sisters bridal shower in the banquet room. They were beyond accommodating, the food is amazing and service is outstanding. Ryan was so helpful. I 100 percent will continue to use these beautiful rooms they have available for events! HIGHLY RECCOMMEND . So perfect
Great Course open to the public. Some of the best kept fairways around. Thr rough is well trimmed, but cut high, and you could lose a ball if you miss seeing where you sent your errant shot. Water seldom comes into play, but the course does challenge you with some doglegs and hidden greens.
We had our Christmas party at the golf course everything was absolutely fabulous Ryan and the staff are amazing
Came into town after returning from a deployment. Wanted to take my nephew and brother golfing for their first time. The staff were all extremely helpful and gave us great pricing to thank me for my service as they said. The course was nice and a staff member even approached us on a cart and gave us balls he recovered as well as helping to guide us since we were all fairly new to golfing. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I will definitely be returning when Im in town again and I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone. As a beginner it can be hard to find a course where you feel comfortable. The staff made us feel very welcome and with their help we enjoyed our day out on the course!!
This course is always well maintained. Offers challenging holes but not too difficult for the average golfer. They also have two warmup holes you can play before starting your round which is awesome.
Decent food at the patio and the course is really nice and maintained!
Just played here for the first time with my father and father in-law. My father is disabled and it was my father in law first time golfing. The ranger on the first hole told my father in law 3 times to hurry up on the first hole and then moved us to the back 9 and at the 15th the ranger came back to us and said after 18 stop at the pro shop and they will give us half are money back. I have played every course in Joliet and have never been treated like this. My father and I golf all the time and like I said he is disabled and have never been rushed and treated this way at any golf course we have played. We will never come back. there are many courses in the area that are just as nice and will treat you with respect.
Great views of golf course. Large window tables are great to sit near in the fall and winter.
The best place for all my friends and family to golf and to eat. Also to have a banquet
Well maintained and wide open course.
Danielle our server was excellent. Atmosphere was perfect and music was great! Highly recommend for a night out!
Very fun course, decent prices. Played on 4/13 and the greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Looking forward to my next round
The food here was rather good with healthy portions. I ordered a double burger and it was monsters. the fries were also hand battered. The decor left a little to be desired it felt like a diner in the 90s And the tables and chairs felt a bit dated. The prices were fairly reasonable and I will most likely go back again, I was happy with the experience
I play here on a regular basis. Course always in great shape. Staff is sharp and available. Open course that gets a little more wind than most. Stay for a meal after the round. Great value all the way around.

If i could give negative stars I would. First time I went there I was told no need for a tee time as a single. As I walked into the pro shop I was told nobody goes out due to 9 holes and dinner (some kind of promotion) along with the high school kids having a tournament. Why couldnt I have been told this when I called earlier? From the phone call I made till the time I arrived was around 20 minutes. What a waste of time! I could have gone somewhere else and been able to play 9 holes. Instead I went back home vowing to never go back. But, i decided to give them another chance. The second time I played the starting ranger was busy eating dinner as i pulled up to the first tee. Not very welcoming. Out on the course, the rangers where way too busy checking cart numbers to make sure play was at a good pace. I got stuck behind a really slow foursome that would not let me play through. On top of that, another two some was waiting on me, followed by another twosome behind them. Where is the ranger when they are actually needed? When I complained to the person in the pro shop, he never even turned off the vacuum sweeper to hear what I had to say. This type of thing is infuriating. I will never go there again. And its a shame, the course is nice and it is close to my house.Cog Hill is still the best around. I never have any trouble. The rangers do there job and the flow is always on pace.
Place sucks no carts was playing under a hour and 45 and the ranger is pushing me no fun waste of my money
Deceptive pricing on website, went to book a t-time on course website, times listed specified all t times after 5 pm were listed for 29.00 ( in red print a savings of 55%) When I arrived at the course I was informed that no, thats the 9 hole rate, the 18 hole rate is 43.00 and that was even after I pulled up the website and showed the t time booking page the the staff person in the pro shop. Course was nice but the deceptive business practice is outrageous. I did pay and play 18 but will not return to this course as there are a lot of other courses which are just as nice and nicer who exhibit much better business practices.
Had lunch with an old friendVery good service with excellent beef stew soup.
Great course to play. Its a newer course so its not mature.. the restaurant on site is good.
Great food. Friendly staff.
Fairways, greens, general grounds are in excellent condition. Pace of play very good. Great staff.
Went there for Easter Brunch. Definitely a must do again. Grandchild was free. Would like to try the regular restaurant.
Course in outstanding condition...food is excellent
Nice course enjoyed playing it.
Was our first visit at the resturant and went for Friday fish fry. Plenty of food and very good.
Lovely building. A bar separate from dining hall, all clean. Food was great.
Great course for recreational golfers. Somewhat forgiving at times but provides some tough shots as well in the back 9.
Went fishing with grandson in summer at night. Food was good. We had a blast.
A great course. Always in top notch shape and a pleasure to play.
Its a great place to host yout party, event. We supplied a Photo Booth for Chucks 75th surprise birthday party at Prairie Bluff. They also have a good restaurant, well worth a visit.
This place needs a lot more traffic for the quality of food and service. Really good and cheap drink specials.
The food in the ambience is excellent also the servers are the best
Nice links style course. Enjoyed a golf outing, surroundings were nice and staff made us feel welcome!
Great food! Great service! Great drinks! Try the bloody mary!
Very nice course with good people. Little breeze but it will keep you busy with tall no get out grass on the sides.
Very nice place had a dinner meeting there food was very good also.
Played a handful of rounds here and it is a well maintained links style course. Very challenging for all golf levels. Only one issue I experienced was when they were aerating the 16th to 18th tee boxes, we were never told they were doing this and we had no place to tee off. What place doesnt mention about aerating....this just happened today. Disappointing...
Very poor service. Waitress slammed my husbands food on the table. Brought out wrong soup and completely forgot husbands soup
The course itself was fine; however, the rangers at the course hovered over us the entire time, telling us to pick up the pace when no one was waiting behind us. Those few extremely rude, crotchey employees made the entire experience poor for everyone on my party.
Golf course is in excellent condition. Staff is first rate.
Good food nice atmosphere. Fried cod every Friday.
Pretty good public course. Havent golfed weekends but weekdays usually have plenty of tee times available.
Links prairie style. Not a lot of shade. Fun course.
Another one of my favorites in the Chicago area
Hometown favorite. Wide open and challenging but forgiving too
Very pleasant round of golf. Great value.
Great course for any level of play. Good food in clubhouse.
Food was just okay. Some items on a limited menu for lunch were over priced.
Good and tough.Expensive for Seniors $38.00.Excellent conditions
I was recently married at Prairie Bluff, and could not be happier with how everything went. We worked with Ryan throughout our whole planning process, and he was incredibly accommodating and courteous. After having met with several other venues that seemed to only care about their profit, it was refreshing that Ryan was so customer service oriented (but not surprising, since this venue is owned by the Lockport Park District). The food at this venue is absolutely delicious, and our guests had nothing but good things to say about their meals. The value for Prairie Bluffs different packages really cant be beat compared to other venues in the Chicagoland area (especially for open bar). Anytime we ran into anything that seemed to be missing, Ryan would immediately get it for us. The day of our wedding went incredibly smooth, and Ryan was there the whole time keeping things moving along efficiently. While this venue has held weddings in the past, it seems that they are trying to become more of a presence as a wedding venue (as opposed to just banquets), and I think they are well on their way.Our experience with Prairie Bluff really was excellent, but I will say that I would have liked for them to reach out and check-in with us more often about scheduling meetings, finalizing numbers, etc. They were always responsive when I reached out, but with all the stress of wedding planning it could have been nice to have prescheduled check-ins (bride brain is a real thing). I consider that to be a very minor issue in the grand scheme of things, and still feel they earned 5 stars.
Driving range is outstanding, staff where very nice and informative. Needs a legend for distances on the driving range.
Great course in impeccable shape for the price u pay
Great place to spend the day golfing
Beautiful course.
To windy, but great staff
Way to make me cry on Mothers Day.... The manager Insisted we were wrong about reservation number multiple times followed by the waitress then sat us at a tiny table where my view wouldnt been a wall and us buried by the food line. This caused tension within the family, we moved to the bar area (yes bar area fir Mothers Day) crammed into a booth with the blender going off every few seconds. I cried in the bathroom, I felt so Un-special by this place on Mothers Day. Coming in, we everyone there were not allowed to go through the main entrance, we had to go into the side and wait outside with the cold wind blowing on us women as we waited to get inside. Women need elegance on Mothers Day let us go through the beautiful main entrance. And why belittle us mane time over who was right or who was wrong. Very disrespectful to women/moms and this place made me cry.... ON MOTHERS DAY.. . NEVER EVER AGAIN.And anyway, whol wants a prison view during brunch? Our bill for 4 adults & one child was $175... For Tia kind of treatment. We should have left immediately after being told we were wrong and stupid.
Great open golf course and very well maintained. Lewis University airport nearby is a little annoying as the course is in the flight path of pilots practicing touch and go maneuvers.
