Mark and his staff were very professional and compassionate. We really appreciated their attention to detail. My family and I are very grateful to the Douglass Funeral Home. They made a difficult time in our lives easier to bear. Highly recommended!

Culturally insensitive. At a family member’s wake one of the employees came into the room where our friends and family were gathered and accused the entire room of being “extremely disrespectful” because we had moved temporarily from the room of the family member’s coffin, exclaiming “this is not how it’s done” and “my job is to tell you how things are supposed to be done.”My grandmother does not understand English but my father and I were extremely upset. When I confronted the gentleman, instead of apologizing, he told me that he “knows Chinese people” because he had done “tons of Chinese funerals” and that “half of Lexington was Chinese.” Eventually he apologized when my father spoke to him, but it was an extremely upsetting experience on top of an already upsetting day.

I just received an email about a relative passing away. Google your name and found that it is a scam. Thanks for posting that and I am glad I did not open it.

To Whom It May concern:I received an email that listed your Douglass Funeral Home, that a friend of mine had passed away, but I checked your Obituaries and didnt know anyones name, that Ii recognized and reported the email to SCAM!I only reason I didnt open the email, because the relative who did pass away, the email listed incorrect dates, viewing and no name!! I checked with the family, about which Funeral Home the deceased was at and they confirmed it wasnt the Douglass Funeral Home!!Thank you, for posting that notice.
