I was stuck on the LIE since 8 am this morning and wanted to use a tow truck company through geico. They set me up with Lightning Towing. I have never had a worse experience. I waited five hours and two cancellations later to never be helped by these people and when they finally called to help me I already called another towing company and no one seemed to care that I had waiting five on the busy side of the LIE all alone ! Never use this company ! ken the dispatcher is the worst not helpful at all

Tbh you guys dont even deserve any stars . Did not even show up at all to assist me with my tire and never even told me in the first place that you dont provide spares to change it . Had me waiting for over 2 hours and never told the tow truck driver about me from what he said, then lied to progressive and said he did not see me . Dont even call to tell me how long for someone to get to me. I did that . You guys are a total disappointment. You guys dont deserve any business AT ALL .

After reading multiple horrible reviews we almost cancelled our GEICO roadside request for a jump start. Initially, they said to expect one hour. They came in 55 minutes giving us a heads-up call 5 minutes before arrival. A pleasant young man arrived and jump started the car. It happened so quickly I forgot to remove my house keys from the key chain. I had to turn the car off to remove the house keys. Fortunately, he was still there. So he had to give me a second jump start as the battery did not have enough time to recharge. The gentleman patiently gave me a second jump start. Surprisingly, he said there was no need to tip, but I insisted due to his excellent service. The gentleman came in an unmarked white car. I do not recall his name. The callers name on my phone was not Lighting but Anselme Family. Im glad I did not cancel the roadside request with Lighting. He told me to allow the car to run for 45-60 minutes. The car easily started after the 60 minute charge.

Used roadside assistance through my esurance app at around 6:40am because my battery was dead. The ETA was 7:46. I called at 8 they said I was next he would be there in a few. I called at 8:45 they said give him about 30 minutes. I called at 9:30. They said he was finishing a job he would be there in 30 minutes. I called at 10:10 they said they were sorry for the wait and for giving me the 30 minute window over and over again but he would be there in 30 minutes. He arrived at 10:41 and gave me a jump and was nice and pleasant. Thank God I was able to walk my kids to daycare because a three hour wait is ridiculous !!! I signed up for AAA while waiting!

This company uses shady technicians. After working a 12 hour shift I went to my car to learn that the battery was dead. My car insurance dispatched this company to restart the dead battery. They arrived very promptly, within 20-25 minutes. Two men arrived on the scene. After inspection of the battery, one of the techs noted that the battery was in very bad condition, to which I agreed. They offered to install a new battery right on the spot. I now realize, that the person who did most of the talking was an associate of the tech, and not the actual tech. He kept telling me I could just tip them for the work and thats it. This was contrary to the person I spoke with over the phone from the company, who quoted me $190 for the battery, installation and taxes. Now, I realize they were trying to confused me all along. I had asked the person on the phone if I should pay over the phone now, he said no, at completion of the job. When the guys finished installing the new battery, again one of them said that I could just give them a little something for installing the battery. Wanting clarification, I asked So I dont have to pay the $190 for the battery? Because the way he spoke, implied otherwise. He said no. Confused, I asked what do I do when the company calls, he said, tell them we did a good job. Then they left. I assumed, they must have gotten the battery change covered by my insurance. Why else would I not have to pay them directly for the battery? Shortly after, while I was on the road driving, I was called by the company who was attempting to obtain payment. But, because I was driving I had been unable to get to the phone. By this time, one of the guys called me directly telling me the company was trying to reach me to obtain payment. I said, but I was told by you guys, I wouldnt have to pay for the battery. The guy became belligerent on the phone. I had to tell him not address me that way. When I tried to ascertain which one of the guys I was speaking to. He simply shouted,Im the tech who installed the battery in your car! As if he had been alone all along. I told him and the company guy, I wanted the money I gave them at the recommendation of the guy saying, I didnt have to pay the $190 and could just give them a little something for the work. I then paid over the phone the $190 that was originally quoted to me. I then had to turn around, meet them in front of my job. And I got my cash back that I had given the two techs. Or rather, the one tech and his friend. My next move is to report this company to State Farm. Who needs someone trying to take advantage of them in that type of situation? Despicable. Why play games?

By far the worst experience on my life if I could give this company 0 stars I would but I can’t. my mother sat on the side of the highway for 4 hour with my 3 year old child in the dark and this company showed 0 urgency dispatcher and driver were not on the same page at all had different stories as to what was going on instead of dealing me dispatcher leaves me on hold until I hang up .Dispatcher is extremely unprofessional and RUDE has no sense of what it takes to work in customer service by far the worse customer service experience of my life communication skills are horrible this is the second time my roadside assistance service company used this company and nither experience was enjoyable not sure how many people work at night but if the dispatcher can not handle dealing with people or becomes frustrated after a certain time at night he should NOT work here I did not pick nor fill out an application for this man to be at this job so I should not have to deal with his disgusting attitude. This company either need to 1. hire more people 2. Fire the current employee or 3. Get it together they do not have 1.8 stars by accident this is truly a bad company they actually deserve less.

Don’t use them! They are the worst roadside assistance company around. Audi roadside assistance dispatched them between 11 and 11:30 PM yesterday. It’s been three hours and they never showed up. I don’t know how they get the contracts with the luxury car dealer roadside assistance programs but please be aware and if you see that they are being dispatched to help you, cancel it and demand they use another dispatcher! They’re terrible reviews speak for themselves. This company needs to be put out of business

It is sad that these guys scam insurance companies into thinking they went out to the customer and pretend that the customer wasnt there when in reality their techs didnt even get close to the customers location. I worked for these guys for a bit and I am completely embarrassed to say I did. They are the absolute worst, I was told to tell people we were only 45 minutes away knowing that it would be hours before a tech got to that location. Half the techs are hoodlums who drink and drive all day on the job. Unprofessional is an understatement when it comes to this place, they are constantly lying to customers and clients such as gieco just to get paid on calls they never attempted. Just embarrassing anybody would contract these pigs.

If you see this company as your company when requesting roadside assistance from Liberty Mutual, or any other insurance/AAA provider, insist on them getting someone else, anyone else. Anyone else would better than this sad excuse for a company. The owner should be ashamed but he is probably just as bad. Had a flat, 3+ hrs, no call to say hey running late, no call bf arriving to make sure Im even still w the car after 3 hrs, and when they get there, I thought I was going to get robbed. No uniform, no ID, didnt even say hi or say he was from roadside assistance, it could have been anybody. After scratching my fender w his Jack he changed the tire, held out a phone to sign and left. Might as well have been a mute, deaf person bc no more than 4 words were said.....where is the spare? How companies like this exist in this day and age, I dont know. And I can see from other reviews on here I am not alone. If there is even 1 positive review on here, guaranteed its from the company themselves.

Called AARP today for a tire change during rush hour. I needed someone quickly so I could drop my son off to school. I received a text message saying they would arrive within 45 minutes. I called the dispatch office, and the dispatcher seemed to understand the situation I was in. The driver Rob arrived within the next fifteen minutes and was very quick, efficient, and knowledgeable about my vehicle. Couldnt be happier about my service.

Lightning roadside assistance? Sloth pace is more accurate. I would never ever use this service if my life depended on it, because I would probably be dead by the time they got to me. Unfortunately Geico roadside assistance contracts with this company. My mother got a flat while she was at her friends house and it took them over 3 hours to reach her. Imagine if she was stuck on the side of the road! If you have the choice, avoid at all costs.

If I was able to give them zero stars I would. This company scams insurance companies like Geico. We had a flat tire that needed to get fixed and the “tech” calls my husband to say he’s outside. My husband goes outside and no one is there. He tried calling the “tech” back and he told us to call Geico because no one was outside. We called Geico a second time and he did the same exact thing. He called and said he was outside, my husband watches him pull off as he’s on the phone with the dispatcher. They then proceed to tell my husband to call Geico again because he was turning back around. That’s when we realized that they were scamming the insurance company. Do not use them. They will leave you stranded.

Wonder about other reviews but I got serviced fast. I was given a time estimate by my Insurance company but they came before that. Maybe the guy was around that location not sure but still, he arrived quick and took care of my lockout problem real quick. My car key battery was down and I got used to manual locking on the door. I replaced battery on key but my habit stayed. After service, I was able to go to office in time and that was big deal for me.

I called for service at 4:10pm and a representative from Lightning stated a technician would be there in 60 minutes. After waiting an hour I called again. The representative now stated the tech would be there in 30 more minutes. I waited almost 2 hours and called again now the representative states the technician will be there in 30 more minutes. I waited 3 hours and called again at 7:00pm and spoke with Jada she stated that I had to wait another 30 minutes. I asked to speak with a manager and she stated she was the manager and she was laughing. Jada told me I had to wait another 30 minutes. I waited until 9:00pm a total of 5 hours and had to call an uber to get home. I was not calling this place again to hear another 30 minutes and laughing.

Recently I was locked out of my car and I called Road Side assistant to send me a tow company to assist me with getting into my car. The company that they used was lighting house roadside assistance. Needless to say, this was a disaster I never would have expected to go through what I went through, it was a Nightmare beyond !! I waited for a experienced person to come rescue me; lets just say he cause more of a problem then the one I put myself in originally.(locking my keys in my car by accident).The roadside tech support driver who arrived actually ended up breaking out my window attempting to get into the car.I called and the company is blaming me saying I broke my own window out furthermore I had a spare key at home and this would have been easier for me to go pick it up. He caused $1000 in damages to my vehicle and property .Its been over 30 days and Im still waiting for them to pay for liability.Dont ever use this company. The reviews are 100% true . I reported them to the Attorney General. Stay away from this company!

I never have written a review before to complain about a company but I felt it was necessary to hopefully save someone the aggravation and possible medical implications of having to deal with this company. I was lied to several times about ETA for roadside assistance was told 6-7 different ETAs, it took 8 1/2 hours to get flat tire changed. GM roadside assistance contacted this company several times during this ordeal and was also told different times. The company claimed that GM called and cancelled the call so they could restart the clock, just another trick to make them look good. The worst customer service and experience I have ever had with any company I have ever dealt with in my life.

If zero stars were an option this sorry excuse of a company would be getting such a rating. My insurance company placed a call out to Lighting roadside assist @0009 and at 0210 no tow truck. Contacted the company at the number which my insurance provided, only to be placed on hold for 30 minutes, and hung up on the next. The name of this company is a joke! My friend ended coming with a power jack after my factory issued jack failed, while the wheel was already removed! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Liberty mutual contact this company 6:13am and no one arrived till 8:24 am. What bothers me the most is the lies that they gave me when I contacted them, and the attitude that they give knowing that they are wrong. Lightening road side assistance please work on your customer service skills and stop with the lame excuses. Spending two hours in a wooded dark town waiting for you all couldve turned out to be a negative situation.

Horrible service. Technician torqued my wheel without using a wheel lock which stripped the bolts so not only do I have a flat but also have to pay for stripped bolts. When I called about what happened they said the only recourse was to file a claim with Geico. Very unprofessional. Shouldn’t your technicians know how to change a tire?

Requested a flat tire change via American Express. Was quoted 70 minutes from Amex. Once I reached the ETA provided, I called Lightning and was told I have another 50 minutes to wait on my case. I called American Express back, and the CSR attempted to contact Lightning. Apparently the representative at Lightning provided American Express with innacurate info as well. If you read the other reviews, it appears this is a common trend with this company. Use another service if you have the ability!

My insurance directed me to this roadside company. Had a driver by the name steve come out to me for a flat tire. Took care of me like I was his family. Spoke to me in a polite attitude although minutes befor he had just got into a car accident and let the elder lady go so he can attend to my flat tire service. I waited over 3 hours yesterday for help from these people. They kept telling me another 45 minutes and that the guy they had coming out to me got into an accident and thats what delayed my service. When he arrived i had asked him if he was okay from the accident. He said he didnt get in a accident he was just really busy. Just because they lied to me i have told state farm about the blatent disrespect. If i knew they were busy i would have had somone else come out to me but Statefarm kept saying they were the only business around. Im not sure what was worse, the unprofessional attitude, the dishonesty or the rudeness. I actually felt attacked when I called to ask them to make good on a warranty for a battery theyd installed - that failed. A little over a year ago, Lightning Roadside Assistance (LRA) was dispatched my my insurance company - to my home - because my car wouldnt start. The technician arrived and determined that my battery needed to be replaced, so he left to get one and put a new one in my car. When I asked for a receipt and any warranty paperwork, he replied that hed run out, but suggested I call my insurance company the next day for assurances. I called, as directed, the next day - and was told that my insurance rep had spoken to Matt at LRA, who assured her that Id be covered if there were any issues with the battery within a two year period. They sent an email receipt to me, but no paperwork - no warranty. A year and a half later and just a few weeks ago, I was living 40 minutes north of my original location when the battery had been installed. My car kept dying and restarting on the way home from work. My garage was closed, but I was able to get the car there after hours and took a cab home. The next day, my mechanic informed me that the battery was the problem. They said they replaced it and I immediately contacted my insurance company, who contacted LRA, because I was well within the warranty period. After over a week, they finally responded. I was instructed to contact them directly. The OWNER of the company was rude, sarcastic and showed absolutely no compassion for my being stranded when my car died, whatsoever. He suggested that what I should have done, was contact him before going to my garage. (How could I have done this, when the paperwork was at home?, I asked. He replied, Well you certainly got in touch with me when you DID get home, was his answer.) I am a single mom with one car. I explained this. Not only did he say that he wouldnt reimburse me for the amount of the new battery or labor to install it - he said hed only consider putting in a new battery IF I got the old battery back from my mechanic, put that battery in the car - and drove south to an area where he had drivers (He had NONE up by me) so that they could replace the battery themselves. (So this, of course, made me wonder: If I had even been able to remember the name of the service and HAD called him when my car broke down - what would they have suggested then, when they didnt even have drivers in my area to begin with! Why was I being penalized for them not even being able to provide service - and not being willing to make good on a battery that they had installed and never gave me paperwork on, even though I asked multiple times?!) I certainly couldnt put a dead battery in my car and drive down to his area, and the fact that he asked me to do this seemed totally unreasonable. Additionally, my mechanic told me that the battery looked much older/did not appear to be 1 1/2 years old. It appeared to be much older than that. I tried to negotiate with Lightening Roadside - the owner was nasty and rude. He finally asked, Well how much would you like to be reimbursed? Cause Im not going to give you the full cost of the battery and the labor from the original installation. I said, OK, how about the cost of the battery? He laughed and said Yeah, thats not happening. I asked, Well what was the breakdown of your charges last year? What was the cost of the battery vs the labor? He said he refused to give that info out because he doesnt give out the cost of his materials. WHAT?! Every mechanic I KNOW provides a breakdown of parts and labor when you have work done. I never received any portion of a refund, and this man is still out there, potentially putting old parts in cars and then being rude to people when they have a problem. I dont recommend EVER using them if you have a choice. Not only are they unprofessional, the owner is a horrible human being.

Im the new technician here at lightning roadside and id be happy for u to give us another try and i would enjoy working with u by changing ur tire or jump starting ur car or unlock ur car because u locked ur keys in ur car. THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I had my 1 yr old grandchild with me and my 3 yr old at nursery school, needing to be picked up at 12. called roadside assistance and they gave me these liars. they text they will be there to unlock my car at 11:06. I go out to parking lot with baby and stand in cold for 40 mins. Use persons phone to call them. they say they never got tkt to do work. (They tell roadside they were there at 11:30!!) they will be there at 12:15 (ok, husband has called school to stay with grandchild and Ill only be a little late) This company is well aware of the situation with babies. They never show up so at 12:30 calling them again. Theyll be there in 15 mins (this seems to be their m/o - look on yelp) I have made 12 hysterical phones calls to them, my husband about 18. By 1pm - 3 hrs after initial phone call - call the police. My little one is waiting for 1 1/2 hrs at school. They are liars, and scammers. Called owner and he hung up on me before I could say anything. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

All the other reviews you read here are true! This company is absolutely awful. I waited in my car in freezing cold temperatures for over two hours for a jump. They told me they would be 20 minutes after they exceeded their original ETA which was one hour from the time my insurance company made the call. No one showed up so I called again and they put me on hold for 10 mins at which time I called back. Another individual told me he doesnt know who told me 20 mins but my technician was actually 30 minutes away. They also lied to the insurance company when they called and said driver was in route. In the end I finally found someone with cables and jumped my car.

Wish I could leave one star. An hour and half for a flat tire only to have them cancel right at the arrival time and then have them lie to geico that they couldn’t find me. They couldn’t find me, stopped on the off ramp of the highway, with a flat tire, my trunk open and hazard lights on.

Gave me a 90min ETA then said they were swamped and hung up on me, called back and they needed another 60mins ....after 3 hours I called back and seems like they forgot to put me on mute and they said tell him we got into an accident so they then told me they were not gonna make it and hung up again....never dealt with such unprofessional people...AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This is a company of liars make people wait for 3 hours lying to not allow others to do business, do not hire this company will have to waste their time and expose them to be long hours on the roads the worst and responsible. They are irresponsible. They lie to people offering services that they cannot fulfill. They made me wait for 3 hours and they never arrived. They simply do not want others to do business. They lie to make clients wait and not look for another service provider. to customers in dangerous situations for hours.
