Walking into such a beautiful office put me at ease, and you know you will be taken care of when the staff is so kind and friendly. Dr. Smith listened to my concerns and was super gentle & quick & thorough. The vanilla scented laughing gas was a great touch too. I’d recommend to anymore without a doubt you’re getting the best service with Dr. Smith & his staff!

By far the best practice around. Dr. Smith and his entire staff are absolutely amazing. This was my second root canal with him and both procedures have been such a great experience. (Can’t believe I’m saying this about a root canal). I’ve always struggled with the worst dental anxiety, but after seeing him, I’d rather visit his practice to get a root canal over a cavity at the dentist if that tells you anything. Dr. Smith explains everything along the way and makes the whole experience stress free, pain free and super fast. He’s knowledgeable, uses incredible technology and has the best demeanor. Prior to my visit, I had an emergency over the weekend and was in a tremendous amount of pain, and Melissa was so caring and helpful and had me on antibiotics in a matter of minutes. I cannot say enough positive things about this practice. Without a doubt, the very best around!

Had to get my first root canal. Got scheduled within a day of finding out from my primary dentist. I usually struggle with a lot of pain at the dentist. I can say honestly that I experienced no pain. I had the procedure done this morning and I feel totally fine- a little sore but nothing like after a traditional cavity. Staff was super nice, no wait time, clean upscale facility, great bedside manner. Dr Smith is great. I didn’t even feel the pain of the numbing needles because he prepped the areas with a pre-numbing swab…. He took the time to let that sit in…. All the while I was in another dimension on the laughing gas… (highly recommend 😎). If you want a pleasant root canal, this is the place!

Dr Smith and his staff was amazing! I have severe dental anxiety (havent been to the dentist in over 8 years) so when I found out I needed a root canal I was beside myself. But as soon as I got there I felt totally comfortable. He explained every single little thing he was doing and the process was absolutely painless. No more anxiety for me! Never thought Id have a more pleasant dental experience getting a root canal than just going in for a normal cleaning. They made it that easy.

Ive got rotten (literally) luck with my teeth and always seem to have at least one cavity with every dentist visit no matter how diligent I am. As you might imagine, Ive wound up having several root canals in my life. Its not an experience I look forward to, and Ive had some truly miserable root canals. To be honest Ive learned to just dissociate my way through the experience.Let me help you avoid the follies of my past: just go see Dr Smith at Eastpoint. Hes remarkably fast but also very thorough. He uses a dental dam to carefully isolate the tooth hes working on and keeping what is basically a surgical site sanitary as he works, which also prevents that feeling like youre choking (I want to demand one at all of my regular dental visits now). Ive had both a first root canal and a retreatment done by him and both were shockingly quick, shockingly comfortable, and surprisingly painless. (Well, the numbing shots arent painless, but the docs got a great bedside manner and you can at least tell that hes very sorry for subjecting you to the pain.)Dr Smiths also very honest with his opinion. One of the teeth I saw him for was to get an opinion whether one of my previous failed root canals could be saved with a retreatment, or needed to be pulled and replaced with an implant. He gave me straightforward info and didnt try to sway me to re-treat (which he wouldve gotten paid for), when an implant was the better option.I drive all the way to Lehi from West Valley to see him, would recommend him to anyone, and dont plan to ever see anybody else. All of his staff are super nice and helpful, and they take the worry out of whats usually a stressful procedure.

If no stars was available I would definitely give them 0 stars, just a quit explanation of why I am giving them a bad review. Last week on Thursday July 8th 2021 our family dentist called Eastpoint Endodontics to schedule an emergency appointment for my wife due to a failed root canal she was in a lot pain at the time they told our dentist that they couldn’t not see her until the following Thursday which is a whole week of pain and suffering for an emergency I ended up taking care of the issue by finding another place to take care of the issue. My recommendation is to avoid this place they don’t take emergencies for their patients very serious.

They are so nice here and the doctor is very good! Highly recommend.

Seriously such a great experience. Dr. Smith has a naturally calming demeanor. You can tell he knows what hes doing, but I never felt talked down to. He was always great about explaining the process of everything he would be doing and why, and during the procedure itself he would explain what he was doing. The staff was super great as well.The insurance made a mistake on billing, and the receptionist (Melissa i think :D) was great about correcting it.The atmosphere is also very clean and classy/elegant.

I was pretty nervous going in as it was my first root canal and I absolutely HATE the dentist! However, this was a great experience dr smith and assistant Kelsea (hope I spelled that right) were awesome and went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable the entire time. Dr.Smith was awesome! He was very gentle and great about explaining everything to me. When my tooth acted up afterward he was great to call me in prescriptions and check in on me. Getting a root canal wasn’t my favorite but I felt like Dr. Smith did a great job considering the circumstances. On the off chance that I have to get another root canal, I would go to him again.

Hands down the best Endodontist in Utah. After my husband experienced major tooth pain and going to the dentist they recommended Dr.Smith. We where able to get in right away! Dr. Smiths treatment was excellent. I had acute inflammation on my teeth and needed root canal retreatment. Dr. Smith was very patient and gentle in removing the extremely persistent old post and did root canal and filling nicely. The staff were all friendly too & I like their open space. One thing though, I have very sensitive ears so while using the ultrasonic machine in order to help removing the post, I wished I had an ear plug due to high noise.. anyway, I recommend this office.

I had two root canal treatments yesterday with Dr Gavyn Smith. I was in the office for nearly 150 mins, and most of that in the chair with Dr Smith working on my teeth. Ican honestly say, this was easily the most remarkable visit with any dental professional in all of my 50 plus years. He has the best chairside manner, was very informative and reassuring, and was so great at his job, I dont even need any pain medicine. I am not offering kind words in the hope of getting a free movie ticket or any other reward, I am really only commenting because I am seriously impressed with Eastpoint Endodontics and Dr Smith. Without hesitation, I would recommend Dr Smith to anyone who needs an endodontist ... every time!

I absolutely love this place! I came for a root canal and I have major dental anxiety and they handled everything so well. They open at 7 which is so great for early birds like myself. Obviously I don’t wish I needed more root canals but if I ever need to come to another Endodontist I will be here! The staff is wonderful and the office is beautiful.

Staff was engaging and precise. No one looks forward to a root canal, I had three (many years ago) previous to having number 4 with Dr. Smith. Amazing difference in technology and equipment! Dr Smith was very kind and informative. My procedure was painless, quick and very comfortable... (patient chair are equipped with heat and vibration controls...very nice!). My experience was so good, I made sure my primary Dentist added Dr. Smith to their suggested Endodontics Specialist list.

I was able to return to work and play two softball games same day. No medication needed. The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome and comfortable. Sure changed my opinion of a root canal. I had no idea that a root canal could be an experience that I wouldn’t hate!! Haha!! It was a beautiful office with massage chairs so you can be comfortable while getting your work done. Dr. Smith was calming and professional, communicable and accommodating. Auburn answered the phones after hours and answered all questions I had. The assistant, I think her name was Alex, was awesome as well!! They were able to get me in at 7 am before I went to work so that I could make it work with my schedule.

Over a year passed with my daughter having problems with one of her teeth. Our previous experience with another dental practice was horrible. Which placed us on the path to Dr Smith and Eastpoint Endodontics. First off, after we parked we walked in with a young man who was very friendly, holding the door open for us and sympathizing with my daughter for her need to be there in the first place. Then we were talking with the secretary, who was also friendly and welcoming. Our sign-in process was quick and painless since it was done electronically.Next was getting settled in the room and x-rays with the assistant. A very cute and knowledgeable young lady who really looked adorable in her peach colored scrubs. Once we got all the info ready, Dr. Smith came into the room. I was pleasantly surprised that this was the same man who walked us into the office in the first place.After telling my daughter everything she could expect with this procedure the dance began. I say dance because that was how well and smoothly the assistant worked with the dentist. It was fascinating to watch. The time went really quickly and before we knew it we were done.Thank you so much Dr. Smith and your team for knowing your business enough to get paid the big bucks (which still didnt break my bank) but also making the environment warm and inviting. I hope we dont have to come back anytime soon, but if the need arises youll be our first choice!

Gavyn was awesome. I appreciate the way he updates you as to what his next step is during the procedure. He is very down to earth and we visited as if we were old friends. This set me at ease and prepared me for my Root Canal Redo. The procedure went along without a hitch.I have to say the most impressive act on his part was getting me right in to fix whatever it was that was causing me excruciating pain. What an awesome experience! This was my first root canal and to say I was nervous is an understatement. Dr. Smith was awesome and put me at ease. Gavin is calm and the procedure went smooth. They numbed me extra cause I have a high tolerance to the shots. The first procedure wasn’t super painful, and I’m a wuss with my teeth. He explains what I needed to know for the root canal. Melissa helped me understand complicated insurance billing better than other receptionists. Clean office, I recommend!The second root canal was a redo from ten years ago that I had gotten done a general dentist. I wish I would’ve known to go to a endodontist at the time because that dentist missed an entire root in my root canal and it turns out ten years later bacteria was going into my jawbone. I hadn’t been to my general dentist check up for a few years and during that time the bacteria was deteriorating my jaw bone. I didn’t know until I saw a general dentist and then Gavin because of the x-rays. He numbed it up well but that one wasn’t a fun experience because of the condition my tooth was in. I had already gotten on antibiotics a couple months before and I didn’t want to get on it again but it ended up getting inflamed a couple days later so I had to again. It wasn’t Gavin’s fault, he explained how the bacteria was kinda being stirred up and irritated because if it’s condition. He put medicine into my tooth and sealed it and then I had to come back in a week for the rest of the procedure. My face turned into a golf ball. Some of the worst pain. Gavin gave me his cell phone number while his wife was close to being due with their baby. That was comforting he was willing to do that because I was really scared to have to go to the ER if I got a fever. He was texting me and I was sending picture of my swollen face. I ended up going to a general dentist that was closer to me get prescription pain pills because they can’t prescribe those over the phone. A week later he had to finish the root canal and I got a little swollen again but it went down a few days later. And 6 months later I’m doing a lot better. All and all, don’t neglect your teeth so you don’t have to pay expensive procedures like me!(Dental insurance usually only pays up to $1500 then you’re left to find the way on your own. Root canals and crowns are not cheap. Most dentists don’t have payment plans either so you have to pay upfront.)

I called on a Thursday for a root canal retreat and they got me in first thing the next morning. Dr. Smith went through everything with me and explained all my options. The massage chair helped me relax during the procedure. They even give you sunglasses so the bright lights aren’t shining in your eyes the whole time. I highly recommend and won’t hesitate to come back if/when I have to have another root canal.

Worst experience ever!!!!! I had an infection under my crown they drilled a hole in the crown to remove the infection. I was never given any pain medication. I was told Tylenol and ibuprofen are stronger than any pain medication out there! ( Ive never had any dental surgery without pain meds prior to this). I went camping in fish lake with my family and suffered for 3 days. Now almost a year later Im finding out that I have a hairline fracture on this tooth and another infection.

We had such a great experience at East Point Endodontics! The staff was incredible, welcoming, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The root canal itself was a breeze. No pain! I enjoyed the massage chair and pleasant conversation while Dr. Smith worked his magic.

Dr. Smith is fantastic! I get my fair share of dental issues and have been seen by a lot of dental professionals (including multiple endodontists). I really like that Dr Smith explains what and why he’s doing what he’s doing as he works. He seem to have genuine concern for his patients and provides honest and realistic feedback. Aside from Dr Smith, the office staff is also great, professional, and friendly. The office is clean and nice. He’s worked on two different cases for me and when I need an endodontist again this is where I’ll go. Thanks!

I worked with Dr. Smith and his assistant Ashley in another office; they were always very professional and fun to have in the office, and Aubryn in the front is super sweet and knowledgeable. Where does a dentist go when he needs a root canal? Dr. Smith! I had an old root canal that was failing and needed to be re-treated. I stopped by just for a second opinion and they were able to work me in and even get the tooth treated on the same day. Great work, I appreciate it!

Who ever thought I would rave about an Endodontist? I had to have an emergency root canal, called their office and they were able to get me right in because of a last minute cancelation. The staff was so personable. Dr. Smith was thorough in my diagnosis and communicated multiple times what was happening during my procedure. The whole process was a dream, which considering it was a root canal, should tell you about the level of professionalism and care that I received there. I literally will never go anywhere else.

My daughter needed a root canal and Dr. Smith was wonderful to work with. He explained every step of the procedure with her and helped her to make the experience as easy as possible. If you need a root canal this the guy and I would recommend him to everyone.
