I was blown away by the cleanliness of this facility. The staff was very helpful and informative and I love that they allow different cats to roam free in the cat room daily. All the cats appeared to be healthy. Ive been to other shelters recently and none of them compare to this facility.Happy to have adopted a kitten from them. She is healthy and happy.

Its always a pleasure going to any animal shelter, but this one is special. They take really good care of the animals and make sure they find good homes. I went a couple days ago and they even have kittens! You have to be 18 or older to adopt and play with the ones in cages. They have cats roaming around and they are the sweetest things ever! I got my cat there and will definitely go back anytime even if its just to see the animals!

You cant see any of the available animals unless you watch their videos. No pricing, no photos. They now act as though they only do rescues of high end dogs and then they require way more money than they should. When they had the rescued English Bulldogs, they were asking from $800 to $1600 for them. They didnt spend more on vetting them than they do for any other dog. They are in it for the money as opposed to helping animals. Just my opinion, you dont like it...dont read it

Please know that this operation is run as best as one can be on charitable service. The animals are there to find loving homes and the center has to commit to making them as healthy as possible. That requires money, so the fees attached to getting an adoption are right. Its not about the money, your there to adopt a pet that had probably been through more than your like to think.. And thats what counts.

There’s always unconditional love to be found, at the WCAS. This was my Bear, obtained through WCAS at the annual Vettes, Pets and Families, held at the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green, KY, taken from me by a coyote bite, two years ago. I’m finally to the point that I could love another small dog, like him. He helped with my anxiety and helped me after my stroke. He’s missed, everyday.

We adopted the sweetest boy ever! His name was Stevie but we are calling him Logan. We were so impressed with the staff. They were genuine and very into the animals they take care of on a daily basis. We ended up with a very sweet, well behaved big boy and he has made himself at home. He gets along with our other two. He is enjoying life now. My husband and I wanted to thank all the ladies at the shelter. No more worries of your sweet Stevie (Logan) he is extremely happy to be in his forever home. ❤

We were able to adopt him the day we met him but he couldnt come home immediately as he had not been fixed. The overall experience was good except I was told someone would call to let me know when he would be fixed. This unfortunately didnt happen and when I called to follow up twice they didnt know still. When he was fixed no one called to tell me he was ready to be picked up, I found out as I followed up.Still an over all good experience and we were allowed to visit him and take him on walks while he was awaiting surgery.

I was told to email them his picture and info that they would print a flier and put a courtesy post on their facebook (both of which they never did) then around a month later they called and left a voicemail asking if he was still missing so I tried calling and calling and calling to inform them that yes he still is missing so I ended up having to leave another voicemail and I still have not heard anything from them. My puppy that I have had and cared for since December 26, 2019 was neutered yesterday 6/25/2020 as we agreed on at the time of adoption. Instead of calling and asking to do additional procedures on my pup they just did it and when we came to pick him up told us at that time. As anyone would be furious I questioned their decisions, and they told me that the pup that i have been taking care of for over 6 months was their property and they didnt need any permission from the current owner. And I quote until you signed the adoption agreement after surgery he was ours and didnt need to ask you.Beware they do whatever they want without your knowledge until its too late. My puppy is miserable after the surgery and was sent home with NO pain meds... Nothing! Luckily our vet is fantastic and gave my poor babe some. Think twice before coming to this shelter!

This shelter is a Kill shelter. I was there to make a donation quite a while back. While there this woman in a white coat and rubber boots and a terrible disposition came out from the back and went into an office just there where the front desk is and proceeded to fill several syringes with the tell tell color of the euthanasia drug. She was unfriendly, coarse, no love for dogs. She was almost relishing the task ahead of her. I disliked her immediately. And I am wondering how they deliver this drug? I would like to know. A vet will give the dog a sedative to calm them down. I dont think they waste money on that here. Do they pet him and love on him/her before sending them to where ever it is that they send them? So sad...I was sick to my stomach...

Sadly, they arent allowing them to be seen. The case is still under investigation and the dogs need some extra T.L.C. before they can be seen or adopted. I still stopped in for a quick visit with the kitties before they closed for the day. Many sweet & adorable babies of various ages whod love a good home. The wife and 5 kids went there today and playing with the dog for over an hour decided to adopt it and was told we couldnt adopt it because we have a German Shepherd. Then was told maybe if we brought the German Shepherd down to see how they would act together. we told them our German Shepherd was fine with animals we lived on a farm and that the new dog we were getting from them would be an inside dog. Then they proceeded to ask why or German Shepherd was not an inside dog. Because its a farm dog and hed rather be outside and its really none of your business!! No wonder they put so many dogs down my kids come home upset and couldnt understand why they couldnt have a small dog. The same place also told a girl with autism named Lauren that used to stop by and see the animals once a week with her caretaker because it relaxed her could not come that frequent anymore. What kind of place is this?? They also could not understand the fact that are cat that is fixed wants to live outside! It comes in in the morning and within 5 minutes wants right back out the door it hates being inside! it started off as an inside cat the whole first year of its life but always ran outside and finally got to the point it wouldnt even Come Back in!! But I guess they know more than than our cat does about wanting to be out! I wish there was negative numbers we could give this place. When you upset my kids as bad you upset me this bad especially to treat an autistic kid like that you all should be ashamed of yourself!

If i had my choice I would have given the facility a zero rating. I have adopted two pets from the facility in previous years. Both pets were/are in great environments and are more than healthy. I drove a 60 mile round trip to the shelter on 1/3/19 & 1/4/19 to adopt a pet the shelter wanted to play politics. There are better & more caring actual volunteer organizations near you, take the time and look around, that is what this facility taught me today. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE to anyone. As a return customer I was treated like a door mat! I am truly disappointed in what this so-called humane society has turned into.

They do not offer a trial for the animals which makes it hard to find a forever pet that works with your family, animals, house, yard, etc. You basically have to guess that they will be happy in your home situation without ever being aloud to try it out first. Add a trial period. Youd probably have a lot more people willing to try to find an animal that would be happy in their home.

The shelter volunteers or employees are not educated in many areas. If the kittens dont have adequate training of litter boxes at a young age, they will never adapt. Such a shame to put the animals and families through emotional turmoil.I recently moved to my retirement home well-prepared to have new additions. I donated $400 for two 4-month old kittens. After 6 weeks of accidents, re-caging, 4 litter boxes, and all the new carpet damage, my daughter returned the kittens to the center. That didnt go well either, as she left crying. My first clue should have been how nasty and hateful the lady was when I filled out the original application.I would gladly have donated and more, to have avoided all the above. Rating - very poor. BE INFORMED! THIS SHELTER ONLY ADOPTS OUT THERE ANIMALS TO INSIDE HOMES! We visited the shelter last week with plans to adopt a cat. We had heard that they had an over abundance of kittens and cats and since we had already decided to add a cat to our family we made the 50 min drive to Lebanon. While observing the cats and kittens, we talked with one of the volunteers who informed us that, if we didnt find the cat we were looking for we should check back in a week because they had an additional 250 cats and kittens on the premises that were waiting for (a) cages to empty out or (b) there vaccinations so that they could be brought out for adoption. Our 14 year old daughter kept gravitating back to a specific cat so we decided to leave the shelter, do some things in the area to give us some time to think it over. We returned in a couple of hours to adopt our cat! We filled out the required paper work, which is where everything started to go down hill! When the woman processing our paperwork found out we were keeping our cat outside she informed us that she had talked to the manager and they could not adopt out a cat that would be kept outside! (Side note: We live out in the country surrounded by fields and barns and our cats love it!) They insisted that this was the policy and that ALL animals in their shelter had to be adopted into homes where they would be inside. The volunteer came into the observing room and took the cat away from our daughter, who was now fighting back tears. After we left, I made one last attempt to make this happen, and placed a call to see if I could speak directly to the manager. When he got on the phone, he insisted that the policy was what it was and that was that. I was in the middle of suggesting that they reconsider a policy that is not in the best interest of the animals when he literally hung up on me!The only conclusion I can come up with is that THIS shelter thinks its more humane to keep over 250 cats and kittens locked up in cages and glass rooms instead of allowing them to be a part of a family; out in the fresh country air where they are being played with, loved, and fed everyday. Very sad for all the animals trapped there.

HORRIBLE experience at this shelter. They treated us like retards. We have adopted our dog here in 2007 and he is still a happy dog. This time, they made us bring ALL kids and ALL pets for meet&greet. We understand pets need to get along, but its just getting absurd and ridiculous. They prefer to put dogs to sleep, rather than let a good family to adopt. They caused us a lot of stress. We all fell in love with a dog, and kids are still crying. They put us through hell and refused to adopt a dog. Manager told us ITS HIS DOG and he DOESNT have TIME to watch our dogs getting along. He said that HE DECIDES IF HE WANTS to give the dog for adoption and HUNG UP ON ME.Thats how weve been treated! After 3 trips and cancelling work days, these people told us they refuse to let us to adopt a dog.We are not the only ones who have been treated this way.We came and wanted to adopt a cat and a dog. We have a big house and a large backyard. But apparently this cruel place prefers to kill dogs and cats, rather than give them out for adoptions to good families.WE HONESTLY filled out application and said we have 2 dogs and 3 kids and they put us through hell. Thats what we get for good intentions and honesty. Our kids have been crying for 4 days now.We went to a cat cafe and adopted an adorable cat. She is so happy to be in our house and we all love her. My advice - go to a place, where you will be treated not like a door mat.At the cat cafe girls greeted us like royals outside, explained how everything works, we found an adorable cat and adopted her within one hour! On top, they gave us a bag with toys and food and everything needed for the first days. Too bad there are no such places for dogs. This shelter should be under a good management, and should be trained how to work with people. So many pets are suffering in there in tiny cages and people are being rejected for no reason. They demand you to bring the entire family and pets to meet a new pet and then they reject if your dog is scared or barking and they dont give your pets time to adjust. Basically if your pet wont start playing with the new pet right away, you will be rejected. So if you want to put your family through hell, go there, otherwise go to any other shelter where you will be treated nicely.
