Great experience and really liked my counselor. Best thing I ever did for myself.
Not a good experience at all. Felt like I was put on the spot a lot and then was told I have to talk about the issues that they wanted to discuss and ignore what I was there to talk about. Not satisfied in any way.
So far so good! My family has had a positive experience visiting with Karson. We’re learning new things and finding ways to make positive changes. We’re learning how to face the many challenges presented to families in the 21st century.
I briefly worked with Lisa for a few months before moving last spring, and she was wonderful. She very quickly made me feel comfortable (which is hard to do as I am wary to share personal information) and gave me some good resources. I did not want to jump into medication as I feel like there are issues which need to be resolved before considering medication, and she was very respectful and supportive of that decision (though I will say that I respect her and her discretion enough that, had she suggested medication later in our sessions, I would have trusted her advice). Lisa, as a therapist, was great. My lower review comes from billing. There were a number of issues in only the few months that I was there. Some of the front staff were also a little dismissive at times (not all, but it was very hit-or-miss). I understand that therapy can be an uncomfortable and maybe even embarrassing experience, but the attitude of some of the front staff made it more uncomfortable to go there than my actual sessions.
Doug has helped me greatly be a unique balance of sincere care (in his listening and respect for you and your feelings), and his confidence that we can each conquer life and the inevitable challenges it brings. I am very thankful for his personal concern as he guides me through the root causes for my fears and weaknesses. I always feel better and more confident after speaking with Doug.
Being connected to amazing and experienced clinicians has helped motivate me and develop talents and skills I didn’t have before I worked with Aspire. Last summer I wanted to try to do something I never tried before and during that time Aspire sat down with me at no cost and helped me come up with ways to realize my dream. I feel that the Aspire Network sincerely wants me to succeed and is invested in helping my business grow and also me personally. I am proud to work with people who practice integrity and expect their clinicians to do the same.
Excellent, friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere. Variety of counselors to choose from so you can find one that fits your taste. I often see children coming and going for treatment. Accepts insurance, too.
I am so blessed to be a part of this talented team of clinicians who provide counseling, therapy, and other services supportive of positive mental health. I love being able to refer to a clinician who may provide better treatment options to address needs that I dont specialize in.
I have known Jeri Young, LCSW - one of the core counselors at Aspire - through the Tai Chi classes I teach. During our time together, Jeri has helped me change my perspective on some very deep-seated issues which I have struggled with my entire life. Because of this, I feel a desire to bring it to the publics attention that - if Aspire has people like Jeri Young on its staff - it is very much worth seeking out if you or a loved one could benefit from counseling. I believe very strongly that everyone - and I mean everyone - should seek the benefits of counseling for at least a few months, regardless of their background - because - we all have been hurt in some way by something or someone and all of us would be happier if we knew how to heal.
The best counselors I have had to take my son to so far
Id really like the business if they werent so quick to judge with a mental illness. This almost routine of mental diagnosing escalates the problems and gives all the validation to the other spouse or parent. Why? In effort to make it affordable. If someone has a mental illness and has treatment, the session can be run through insurance and cost only 25.00 rather than 150. No wonder Utah has been first in the nation for mental illness and double the nation as well. Over diagnosing? Honestly, 150.00 is worth saving the trouble of adding to more problems including drug side effects and saving a marriage or family well-being.A person who has bipolar has to have gone through depression or 2 weeks of solid sadness and can be suidical. Behind my back, my spouse was told by the counselor here after our 2nd session, I was bipolar and to get all the guns out of the house and consider forcing me to hospitalization. My spouse who was already upset with me treated me like a criminal and false pity. Fortunately, I have never had depression or suicidal thoughts and its unfortunate that nobody asked if I was. Once we put down the false idea of mental illness, we were able to get down to the real isses. Thanks to God, our marriage survived and we returned to see a different counselor at this location with the understanding to leave mental illness out of it and had a much better experience.(incidentally Im logged in as my spouse)
