My son and new daughter had their wedding and reception at Oakhills a month ago. The grounds are beautiful but the staff were not helpful at all. So disappointed even before the actual wedding, suggested the kids cancel and go somewhere else. Everything we asked for was met with resistance. We can’t do this, can’t do that, had crazy charges, like no charge to use their flowers but will charge to clean up flowers the kids brought. Paid $175 for sparklers at the end of the wedding. There were plenty of sparklers but when asked if some guests could have 2 they were answered with a stern “No!”But the left over sparklers were sent home with them. If a reason was given it would have been acceptable, but none was given, Food was not that good. They requested vegetarian sandwiches in addition to regular sandwiches. Sadly vegetarian was forgotten and took 2 hours to get them to the reception. 2 hours!! Fruit platter looked like they used old fruit, which was very unappetizing. For the amount of money spent the food really should have been better. The whole ordeal was rough. Everyone made the best of it as it was to be the couples happy day, but the couple were very disappointed as well. Other than the beautiful grounds I would not recommend this place.

Pretty cool new digs with the barn added to the property, a better more open floor plan that provided a better flow than the original building. The main building does provide a good space for dinners and luncheons. There is also a good outside area for ceremony and fair weather receptions with a nice covered patio for seating or a band to play as well. Only knock on the place might be the parking, not the most orderly or convenient, but not a huge deal.

The staff and especially Janelle were so wonderful in making our daughters wedding all that she wanted! I would recommend the Florentine to anyone. They took care that everything looked just how my daughter wanted it. They made sure everything ran smoothly at the reception. And a huge THANK YOU to the chief on the food served at the reception!! We found out, to our delight that he home-makes everything!! The food was delicious!! Thank you!!

Florentine Gardens has potential to be a nice wedding reception venue, but a number of details were missed in the execution of a recently-attended wedding luncheon.- There is no coatroom or coat rack on the main floor for guest use. Instead there was a room offered in the basement, or people could use the backs of their chairs.- The linen napkins were visibly dirty and wrinkled.- Salad dressing was served in plastic portion cups with lids, instead of a gravy boat or individual ceramic containers.- The rolls were served on the entree plate instead of in a basket on the table. They also did not have any extra rolls, so when I initially asked for a roll to feed my hungry one year-old during the salad course, they would not accommodate me. Finally I insisted that they take a roll off one of the extra entree plates (fewer guests attended than we anticipated), and bring it for my son.- The pace of the meal was so slow that by the time my table received its entree plates, the head table had finished theirs.- As the servers cleared the entree plates, they asked us to retain our forks for dessert, instead of a) placing dessert cutlery in the initial place setting, or b) serving the dessert with a spoon or fork on the dessert plate. As I mentioned, there is potential for this to be a fine wedding reception venue. Id like to see the management implement these changes.

I wanted to take the time to leave a review and just say how prefect my wedding was thanks to all the hard work of Florentine Gardens, the owner Dan, his son, the wedding coordinator Pat, and the staff.. They were all amazing and accommodating and helpful to me and my whole family! This place is gorgeous and even more gorgeous with all the sparkling lights they added.. There were a couple hiccups (like every wedding) and I was a stressful ball of mess at times and Dan and pat and Dans son made sure i was happy and taken care of.. And the staff! They were seriously amazing and sweet! The food was great and all my family and friends cant stop talking about how beautiful and perfect this place was! (The only complaint is that the music for some reason was not very loud when walking down the isle outside) Im not sure if it has turned out this way for every wedding but this bride is happy! Thank you Florentine Gardens for helping make my day a fairytale! Yours truly, happy bride on her wedding day 10/6/2017

I was honestly embarrassed for my friend who had his reception here.He was married in January and there was a snow storm that day. When we arrived at the venue, the parking lot was covered in a foot of snow. Everyone had to traipse through the snow in their nice close because the management didnt bother to clear a path for their guests. Because the parking lot had no attempt made of being cleared, it filled up quickly as no one could tell one stall from another. Many guests were directed to park in their additional parking which was nothing but an open field. Mud was everywhere, this included now on the guests. When we finally made it to the building, the reception line stretched out the door. We stood their freezing wondering why they couldnt redirect the line, or bring out any space heaters. Once we reached the door, we discovered, at least a partial answer to our quandary. The place is packed, even without guests, but with tables spaced so closely together you can hardly walk between them inside the small floor plan (dont let their online tour pictures fool you, they cram that place). Why the management never bothered to alleviate waiting in the cold by bringing out any sort of space heater was never answered. They knew they had guests lined up outside the door in the cold, I watched a few employees walk right passed that door once we made it inside. The food and the buffet were dismal. Most of the trays were empty - and stayed empty. It seemed as if employees didnt like to hang around this area so they wouldnt have to do anything, because they would completely disappear for 10 minutes at a time - leaving everything empty. When they did finally bring something out, the full tray consisted of only 9-12 items. No wonder why nothing was filled. The hot chocolate was nothing more than brown water. It had no chocolate taste to it. I have no idea how someone could mess that up. We were also given paper waxy cups to drink it out of. I guess it is a good thing that it was only lukewarm, because then the wax lining didnt melt into my beverage, and I didnt burn my hand. Everything we had to eat off of, from plates to cutlery, was cheap plastic which gave the feel of a school field trip to a picnic. The most extravagant portion of the food service was the added-on candy buffet, which I am certain, was provided by my friend and his new bride - not by Florentine Gardens. Its clear that the management here tries to cut corners on everything they can. Im grateful I havent had anyone else I know have an event here, because I wouldnt want to attend.

This was a very beautiful place and the bride did not have to lift a finger all night. Workers did the luncheon and reception and kept it flowing. New ownership made it a good experience on the day if the wedding but the original planner was a nightmare. Ownership changed just prior to wedding and they were great. Recommend it for inside or outside wedding.

Weve had the privilege of holding events at Florentine Gardens twice over the past several months. Once for a wedding reception for our son and daughter-in-law and once for a welcome home reception attended by a number of family and friends. Florentine Gardens was amazing. The location is perfect - being conveniently accessible while also providing a sense of privacy in the impressive buildings and grounds. The outside area worked perfectly for our large gatherings and provided ample space to mingle, stage displays, and participate in activities. The view is awesome from this location and really added to our events. The facilities and grounds are well maintained and the staff were great. Were so glad that we have Florentine Gardens services and facilities available in our community.

Just had my reception here about a month ago. The original planner (Trish I think) was awesome, but the staff that were present the day of just sat around and talked the whole time. I let them know 4 times in advance that I needed an extra microphone to perform and they didnt deliver. They in fact didnt even have a stand for the one they had. One of the staff crouched on the ground to hold it. More often than not, the buffet seemed empty so the guests slowed down on eating. Then, lo and behold, the staff start loading the extra food into the van. The decorations were sub par. The owner said he was going to plant $7000 worth of flowers, and that definitely didnt happen. Its a shame because its a beautiful place. Not only that, but it cost $400 more than we agreed on. Honestly, thoroughly unimpressed.

What a beautiful reception center. I have delivered a wedding cake for 2 different weddings in the past 2 weeks. From the time that I walked into the center with the cake the staff have bent over backwards to help get the table ready & help me with anything that I have asked for; including to borrow some scissors because I had forgotten mine. They asked a couple of times if there was anything that they could do to help. Thank you for your help.I am totally impressed with the way that they are adding a lot of new things to their facility to make it a more beautiful place than it already is. I know it is a place where you will bring in many events because of the nice place & the staff. Word will get out there & bring in a lot of events because of the great job that you do!Thank You again!

I was a guest(luckily not a customer) but I have to say I was not impressed at all.I knew the customer had ordered food for 140 people(expecting 120). Only a 100 people showed. They last ten people in line didnt get much of anything(a little bit of salad). So in reality they paid for 140 and fed 90(barely).If your portions dont feed what they say they do, then change the portions.Unfortunately, there were a few other problems. The bathroom had a toilet covered in feces. Being one of the first people there, I find it highly unlikely someone in our party had done this, I imagine it just wasnt cleaned. The kids playroom is a bit interesting. A door of its hinges(which a kid could just pull over) and a lot of what I would call DI toys and movies.I am not saying the place is terrible, its just really disappointing for what I heard the customers paid.If you go here, just make sure you over do it on the food.

Grand daughters wedding reception. Had been planned for the entire facility specifically the main building and the Pagoda in the shade. Upon arrival, we found the nice a/c building with the shady area outside was not prepared. Nothing was set up. The family of the groom!!!! did the set up for 300 people!! We ended up I the barn for Petes sake and the staff that was there...all 4 of them...told us that we couldnt have the main sliding door open and guests were to walk through the dirt and weeds to the side doors one of which they couldnt get to stay unlocked! ALL of the guest tables were in the hot August sun with no shade trees in sight. Some of the table linens were threadbare. Restrooms were located in the big building with only one toilet functional. The promised stream was dry.Even though the grooms family did all of the food prep and serving, the serving area was not set up for them. They had to do that themselves. Then ---- in the middle of the reception, we are told that we have to move into The Barn. So we crammed 300 people inside for the dancing etc. AND ...the doors had to be closed for the a/cSo again we dealt with the dirt, weeds and self-locking door. The staff were no help at all. Family did all the set up and tear down while staff stood around and watchedNeedless to say, we, the grandparents, were not impressed and will not recommend this venue to anyone.

The venue is gorgeous, beautiful grounds. The bridal room could use more lighting over the mirrors for makeup and the counters still had makeup on them from another wedding. They really need to invest in a good and experienced wedding coordinator. The coordinator had no idea for how to keep the flow of the wedding going. After pictures the bride and groom had no idea where they were supposed to sit. There was no designated bride and groom table or attendants tables. I had to seat and find someone to put the bride and groom signs on the chairs, during the reception. It was clear that guests were lost and had no idea what was going on, I found the coordinator and all she could say is its not scheduled yet! We were all left wondering what was going on. The coordinator announced that they would now cut the cake and went off into the bar area talking to the workers. The bride and groom were left hanging, When the scheduled time finally arrived for the Father/daughter dance, people had left and now we ran out of time so half way thru the dance I was told to dance with my son to the father/daughter dance. It is sad that the coordination was so awful. Memories are now lost. The parents of the bride and groom didnt even get a chance to dance together. I hope that someone gets their head together and hires a really good coordinator before more bad reviews come in. I did weddings for years and have never seen one like this where the coordinator was not even concerned with helping the bride and groom have lasting good memories. It is really sad.

It tasted cheap and the servers brought out maybe nine treats per tray. It took at least ten minutes, after it was empty, to get it refilled. My shoes were also soaked from the snow and mud we had to walk through because we had to park in a field due to the fact that the small parking lot was full.

I was a bride at this venue and my husband and I were really looking forward to a big party and celebration with our families.Needless to say, the venue did not provide, follow through, or work for even 1/4 of what we payed for them.I was extremely disappointed and upset when I show up 45 minutes before my reception is supposed to start and I see my family sweating and working over food and table setup! We warned the venue long beforehand that there would be a huge party coming and we needed as many tables set up as possible. That did not happen and my family ended up setting up EVERYTHING. The last thing I wanted was to see my family working and trying to serve guests on our wedding day.The venue promised an outdoor celebration, that didnt happen. Strict noise ordinance that we were aware of, but were not told about until 3 weeks prior made us move EVERYTHING inside...so we payed for the whole venue and were only allowed to use the back part of it. The venue promised plenty of staff to help with serving and setup/takedown, didnt happen. I saw a total of 4 girls who didnt look like theyd worked a day in their life. Not to mention the fact that I had not spoken to them once about my plans so how would they know what I want and what theyre supposed to do. Obviously there is a lack of communication and integrity at this venue.I could go on and on about everything that the venue failed to do and ruined for us, but Ill spare the rest of the sop story. This venue looks nice, but fails in all aspects of a wedding venue. Dont go with them unless youre ready for a huge disappointment. Which, in fact, is an understatement.Take it from a bride, you dont want this venue.

So i just had my wedding here. When i got there the day of my wedding there was trash still there from the wedding the day before. It was 12pm when i told them i would start coming to get ready. They where still cleaning while i was getting ready in the bridal room. They also where more worried about a lunchon that was happening at the same time as my wedding. My guest where upset no where to park and was confused where to go. Also my brides maids had to focus on all there mess up instead of my wedding. My maid of honor was all over the place trying to make everything right so i was not stressed but i was very upset cause she could be there for me my whole wedding. The table clothes were stained and nasty the food was stale they didnt take my cake out when we asked they where supposed to serve and cut cake that didnt happen either. So my cake was frozen. My ladies spent 30min looking for my bouquets and the flowers for the groomsmen that were delivered and they decided to use them as decorations for the luncheon. Also due to the luncheon I had to walk around in the gravel and ripped my dress before even walking down the aisle because we could not go the way that was planned because of the luncheon. My maid of honor was trying to talk to them about a refund and they decided to give me a candle and tell me they were very sorry then she fought with them some more because this whole day was all messed up and he didnt do anything that I paid for it I paid over $4,000 for a place that was nothing but a mess and all they could do was give me a candle tell me sorry and then give me a $400 refund at the end when the whole entire day was messed up and I didnt even have the time that I should have spent with my family friends bridesmaids groomsmen and everybody else because they were stressed and very unhappy with the place as well. I highly do not recommend this place at all worst place to ever get married

I have never been more impressed by a venue than I was with Florentine Gardens. We came to them with 6 months before our wedding date due to our original venue being shut down after we had already paid for it. They not only accommodated our needs on our new limited budget, but went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. The amount of time and energy that was put into making our day what we had always imagined was unbelievable. Trish, our Event Planning Coordinator and Laurel, our Day-Of Coordinator, are the most dedicated and amazing people at the facility. They made sure everything went according to plan and gave us the wedding of our dreams. From the bottom of our hearts, we cant say thank you enough.

My brother in law had his wedding here last week and both my in laws and I were very disappointed in the service venue overall. I made a list of all the services that we had a problem with.First of all, my in laws catered the wedding and when they arrived an hour or hour n half before the wedding only about 20 tables and chairs were set up and there were supposed to be 40 tables set up. No one bothered to set them up until my uncle decided all of our boys should do it yet there were three workers just walking around the premises?? So when people started arriving all the guests were still setting up chairs and tables!!The lawn wasnt mowed, and the weeds around the barn were at least a foot long! Trying to get our catering supplies from the truck to the barn was annoying to walk through weeds! We were making jokes about how the next vehicle coming to the venue needs to bring a machete! But in all seriousness, it was a problem. I thought the venue would be manicured and ready to go especially for a wedding! The reception was from 5pm-10pm, but as we later found out minutes before the reception started we couldnt play music after 8pm due to noise complaints around the neighborhood?!? What kind of venue would take peoples money and then we cant play music and have a dance?!? The only way to save that night was to move all our guests from the outside and cram them in the barn. We had to clean up the barn after the food was served rather quickly so they can dance in the barn and shut all the doors?!? Mind you once again we were the ones doing all the cleaning. Such an inconvenience!!!Then as we were leaving, its time to break down the tables and chairs and no service from the venue was around?! So what happened?? Our guests were putting away chairs and tables!!!?? Thats so embarrassing!!And the bathrooms were a mile away from where the actual venue was so taking children to the bathroom was a sprint for them!If I could I would give ZERO stars!!! The venue wasnt in order and we literally had no service from anyone that worked there. Just three girls walking around and who at some point asked if they could get food??? DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDING THIS VENUE FOR ANYONE!!! Or at least review your contract very well!!!

I had my wedding reception here and although the grounds are beautiful and you think it has potential I was pretty devastated and disappointed when I arrived the day of my wedding. I chose not to throw a fit or actually complain the day of because it was too late to change anything. So rewind to my wedding planning days. I had already put my deposit on the Eldredge Manor when we set up our luncheon for the Wight House, who owns Florentine as well, and their wedding coordinator convinced me to come tour Florentine because she felt I would love it more than Eldredge Manor. I did fall in love with the landscaping outside when we went, and Tricia promised me she could do all the things I wanted to with decorations with no additional charge. I had already met with a wedding decoration company to have a beautiful canopy light backdrop with a chandelier hanging in the middle and sparkly twigs going along the frame of it. Tricia told me she was good friends with this woman and could get me all of that for free from her since the woman decorates Florentine/Wight House wedding venues anyway. So of course I agreed to switch to Florentine because I did love it and I was getting my décor for free now (or so I thought). Fast forward to the day of the wedding, Tricia—their main wedding planner broke her foot, then her back up woman got sick so then their third woman who has NEVER put on a wedding by herself was in charge. My backdrop was not AT ALL what I had wanted it to be, instead it was this iron frame thing with retarded looking sheer fabric draped unevenly over it with some fake flowers at the top. My centerpieces on the tables were supposed to be floating vases, when we arrived there was just flowers with the stems resting on the pebbles and then little flower petals resting on the pebbles. I told the lady they were supposed to be FLOATING vases (the only time I said anything about all that was wrong) and she was like “It doesn’t say anything about floating” I’m like oh really? Pretty sure I remember seeing Tricia write down and even draw a diagram on my wedding plan sheet of the FLOATING vases. So they filled them with water eventually…. The music was not properly played during the ring ceremony and it STOPPED in the middle of me walking down the aisle and took them forever to restart it. It was a LONG SONG, but they started playing it so long before the processional began so it ran out before I could get there and then they took 30 years to press the “replay” button. They put my cake out before my ring ceremony-- it was 90 degrees that day, so my cake sat on the deck from approx.. 4:30pm until 8:45 pm when we cut it, by that time it had begun going lopsided due to the heat. Thankfully it still tasted good (and no it was not their cake, I had an outside caterer). Also, the lady who was supposed to be in charge DISAPPEARED for most of the night. My photographer and videographers had to instead direct the wedding. I literally fumed about all these things for weeks and weeks and here I am months later still upset about it…The positives? Cute landscaping, yummy desserts.

So I just had my wedding here. First off it is beautiful! I loved all the space and the brides room was amazing! It was big enough to get ready with all your bridesmaids and then some! However, I am only giving it only two stars because I feel like you pay a lot of money but then you don’t get a lot for what you pay for. I had a completely different expectation when I put down the deposot and was told I would be getting a lot more for the price I paid. I understand that things happen and weddings can’t be as perfect as you want them to but I feel jipped. Also everywhere you went was SO HOT! They either need to let you turn down the AC more or change the noise ordinance rules so you can open the doors. It was cooler outside than in. As the bride I was absolutely soaked in sweat and my perfessional makeup melted off. I’m sure when I get my pictures back they are going to be awful for that reason. The entire time guests were fanning themselves with plates and it was just completely unacceptable. A lot of people left what was a celebration because they couldn’t handle the heat. Also I paid for clean up and that was not the greatest. I felt like there was garbage everywhere and it sat there for a long time. Other than that it was good.

We got married at florentine gardens 6/30/2018(new management came on about 3-4 months prior). The venue itself was very beautiful and my wife wanted an outdoor venue with the mountains as a backdrop-- so this is one of the main reasons why we picked this venue and it is the only reason why they get the two stars Im giving. They lose the other 3 stars because of the following reasons:1)The venue host told us that they would be able to host our reception and MC the event. FALSE. They were a mess from the beginning of the actual wedding ceremony to the moment we left. I (the groom) had to do all the signally to the bridal party to get everyone in the places and I, the groom, had to signal the musicians to start playing. It was terrible. We also had to wait a long time because we assumed the host was on top of it but we eventually couldnt find her and started on our own.2) The venue host told us the venue used a catering service and they said that we needed to give them a specific list of food items to get for the wedding food, tell them where to get it, and tell them how many guests we should expect-- this is all great and was totally fine with us. Anyways, we told them to get organic lemonade from costco(we brought rosemary, and mint from our garden for the drinks as well as a few dispensers) and some nice fine cheeses, meats, and other things for cheese boards. They agreed and told us the price (based on the food and the amount of people coming; they were supposed to do the math and factoring of how much to get) and I honestly cant remember exactly how much it was but I know it was like $1200 at least--- again this was totally fine with us! So, wedding day comes and were doing the whole wedding thing and get married or whatever. Ok and then the reception happens....within 30 minutes or a little less, we completely run out of food. Several people come up to my wife and tell her and they are freaking out. Also, the drinks? yeah, they didnt get the organic lemonade. One main dispenser was water and the other was this colourless sweet carbonated drink that basically tasted like the flavored sparking water that is kroger brand. I dont even know how they messed that up. So basically we were out of food and had terrible drinks.3) When it came to directing the crow to the couples first dance or the couples going to cut the cake or the couple are getting ready to leave or ANYTHING, they said that they would be totally incharge of HOSTING AND MCING the event. NO. There were like 4 hosts working that day and none of them did anything apparently. I, the groom had to direct people to all those things while discreetly trying to look like I wasnt doing all the work.honestly I feel like 2 stars is too many, but it is a beautiful venue, so that is why they get any stars at all. We obviously would have wanted some sort of refund because it was terrible, and we have honestly harvested negative feelings toward aspects of that day because of the venue but unfortunately I doubt they would give a refund so cest la vie. They just get a bad review and hopefully will learn from their mistakes.Victor Sine

Was at a wedding today at Florentine Gardens, not much of a garden. I have to say this place was not up to par! Many things not right. For example, I don’t thing they own a weed eater, the grass was mowed but none of the edges were done, many weeds around etc. To top it off they didn’t bother to pick up any trash that was laying around! Now to some of the good stuff! The Barn, looks good from the outside, but they didn’t sweep the floor or pick up any garbage in there either! The tables had a black cloth on bottom with a turquoise one on top, the turquoise table cloths had stains all over them! They were finally removed so the reception was done with just black table cloths! Was this a wedding or a funeral?!? Then we come to the snacks that were provided, chips and salsa, fresh fruit, cinnamon bears and a chocolate fountain. Ok, the chips weee beyond stale, the Maid of Honor made them go buy new ones, the chocolate fountain must of had something wrong because it was thick and nasty and tasted strange. The only good thing I can say is that the cinnamon bears weee good but all stuck together in one big glob. Seriously, not the place you want to have your wedding, or any other event for that matter! Oh, they couldn’t even have the music very loud because the DJ was told to keep it down because they didn’t want to bother the neighbors! Rocky Mountain Roll DJ was the DJ hired by the Maid of Honor and they did a good job. Hopefully their name doesn’t get tarnished by this abismal venue! This could be a cool place for weddings, they just don’t seem to care enough to make it great.

The Property is Stunning, with a Beautiful Garden Area, Lovely main Building and a newer Barn in the back of Property. Everything was Lovely besides a few hiccups. Wedding Cordenator did not advise us till 5 days before Wedding that they moved our Dancing Area from outdoor patio to inside back barn due to Noise Ordinance. We realize that its beyond their control, however we would have liked to know a lot sooner than 5 days prior. Also our Photo Booth was moved from Dining Area to Barn along with the Wedding cake. A little confusing for Guests. Food was delicious, Staffing was good, and Guests had a Blast. So in the end it all worked out. Cordenator at Venue misplaced Marriage Certificate but it was found the following day. Thank You Dan.,

Excellent place to have our annual holiday party. I was skeptical at first when I was told it was going to be in a fixed up barn, but was amazed when I walked inside.

We had a birthday dinner at Florentine Gardens for my mothers 80th and had an exceptional experience. The staff was professional, courteous and helpful as we planned everything from table settings to menu. They have a large assortment of tablecloths and centerpieces to choose from at no extra cost. They did a cream and gold color scheme for us that was simple but elegant. We chose the Baron of Beef for our entree and the entire meal was delicious. We felt the cost was very reasonable as it included salad, punch, rolls and dessert along with the entree. The venue is beautiful with subtle faux finish on the walls, creating a neutral but classic background that would work well with most any color scheme. The room accommodates a large crowd and is well-configured. We didnt need the whole space with 80 guests but everyone could easily see the program from anywhere in the room. We had several musical numbers and had pre-recorded our accompaniments which they ran through their sound system for us. We used their microphones as well. One thing to take note of….they have an antique piano there but it is just a decoration. If you need accompaniment for a program, dont plan to use a live pianist. The grounds are now being developed to include a gazebo as well as a covered deck which will make outdoor occasions extra nice. We will enjoy this later in the summer when we have our high school class reunion there.Again, we had a great experience at Florentine Gardens and it keeps getting better as they continue to add amenities to their outdoor space.

The facility was OK and there was construction equipment out during a wedding. Staff was rude and treated us family of the groom like we were an inconvenience to them. As a local wedding vendor, I dont know that I can endorse such a place.
