Hobbs installed a replacement heating and air system in my home. They completed the job on-time, and at a reasonable price. The customer service was excellent.
1st time user of Hobbs Home Comfort. Had a need for some extra coolant (R22) to be added to my AC since it was not blowing cold. Good service on the phone, scheduled well, and a nice tech showed up within the time window. However, the AC system was completely out of coolant (no pressure). With prices of R22 @ $90/lb, filling the system with 4 lbs would be expensive, but worth it to me if it would last this summer. The tech did not articulate the risks of adding to a system with NO pressure until after 4lbs was added, and only then said there would be no guarantees about how long it would last - if through the summer or just one month. After the re-fill, all of the gas was gone again within an hour. Talking with a couple other AC techs from other companies, they mentioned that filling a system with no pressure is a waste and theyd never do it. Since it was a lot of $$ wasted, I called Hobbs to see if theyd credit me 1/2 the cost and we could call it even. Management declined to credit me anything. Very disappointed - especially given mostly positive reviews from others.. :(
I couldn’t have found this company at a better time. My HVAC system decided to quit on me in the midst of an unseasonable hot, 90-degree stretch of several days. After calling 3 other larger companies, I was dismayed at the exorbitant pricing. Luckily, JR Hobbs was the last and final call. Pedro was a lifesaver - he made us a priority, gave us a VERY reasonable price for the whole system, and made sure we taken care of. The installers were very nice and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure the installation was top-quality. I’d recommend this company to anyone!!!
Such an amazing experience with my rental house. The appointment was scheduled quickly, the technicians were prompt, and the job was completed as described! I will definitely use again.
The folks at Hobbs were more than professional. Jennifer in the office was great to deal with and the field techs were great. They were able to respond within a day or two and replaced my system with little disruption to my day. Thanks!
Of course I called Hobbs during a GA heat wave. I explained that my AC was blowing air, but warm air - but I could manage as needed so it wasnt urgent. When Jennifer @ Hobbs learned that my senior mom was affected, she said she would do her best to send out a tech as soon as possible. I had a tech at my house within 48 hours. He was direct and helpful, he explained how he could get it working immediately for this year and probably one more year (my AC is nearly 30 years old), as well as sent an estimate if I were to want to replace all together. Everyone I dealt with at Hobbs was fast, efficient and helpful. Could not recommend more!
Service our multi family property with no issues. Always fast to come out. Service technicians are friendly and professional.
A huge shout to JR Hobbs and Dave Benes for connecting me with them! I was waiting on my warranty company who said no one could come out for a week. The JR Hobbs technicians were here next day, and they were knowledgeable and professional (thanks, Duver and Christian)! It appears that the breaker was tripped which shut off the unit, and the unit was overcharged. They fixed both in 15 minutes, and I have air again! I will definitely use them in the future!
Adam and his team were GREAAATT ! Highly recommend Hobbs Home Comfort. Got two new Trane a/c units (4 ton and 3 ton) at a fair price, works awesome and quietly, cant even hear them running. Thanks Adam.
Very great prices and very nice people honest workers would higley reccomend
(UPDATE: 5.10.19. A CS manager Jennifer called and left a message for me. These things can go a few directions but she was genuine and sincere in wanting to address my concerns but it is too late. I signed on with another provider. So, increasing from 2-3 stars just based on the fact that they cared enough to reach out to try to address the situation. If you can get them to kill the pre-pay deal should you decide to engage them, I can recommend; again, I was happy with the service events of last year/my contract but the pre-pay was a deal killer)ORIGINAL POST: (5.9.19) I used JR Hobbs last year on an annual heating and air contract. The cost was $190 (Spring and Fall 2018; a/c to heat). When the service was performed last year, I was charged an additional $45 for a non-standard filter. I can understand the charge but wish Id been told about the filter stipulation. I can even let that pass given that it was my first contract with them and they didnt know but that sort of thing should be covered when the technician arrives, right? Here are our terms, sir and this cost includes two standard filters type deal. So, I call them again because the price remains reasonable against what I can see out in the market. Well, it went up to $225. For those counting at home, thats a 16% increase. And the same $45 charge for the filter. Okay, Im still moving forward. Then came the dealbreaker: Their new process involves signing onto a website and paying in ADVANCE and then they will schedule the work. Huh? Ive never heard anyone in the service industry doing something like that. All I can hope is that this isnt a wave of the future thing because that sucks. Their work was fine and professional last contract so no dings there but this is an odd way of doing business and man, Id like to get 16% annual increases in my business.
The place the people the culture the business itself is so phenomenal I decided to join the company
Had one central AC go out after 18 years. Actually the air hasn’t worked in one unit for two years. Sent a detailed request to HomeAdvisor, outlining the basics of what I was seeking in replacing both central AC units. Just give me a ballpark so I know whether to have you come out. I received four calls as a result. One blew me off and gave an outlandish verbal indication. The other two gave me a verbal indication, but not even minimal detail. After speaking with Hobbs Home Comfort (JR Hobbs), they emailed me a detailed written indication with 4 options each for the Trane, Lennox, and Goodman systems. Perfect. Was in my price range and I arranged for them to come out for a firm estimate.During the inspection, I was advised the old blowers may not be strong enough to maximize the efficiency of new AC units. There was no hard sell or up-selling in his making the comment, just an observation. So, I asked they work up some options for both AC and furnace. Also asked they limit it to the Trane brand as I had already researched each of the three systems being discussed. The next day, I again received an email with a detailed proposal. After reviewing all, decided to select one of their options for both AC/furnace. The price was very reasonable. Their 4 person crew came out two days later. They spent 10 hours installing all four units (two AC units and two furnaces), which was great as I advised them before starting I didn’t want the job rushed, but wanted it done right as the install was everything. Icing on the cake was they installed two Ecobee4 thermostats which was part of the proposal. They cleaned up everything before leaving.Unfortunately, spring has just sprung and we’re at that time of year when one doesn’t really need much heat or cool air. So, have randomly tested the systems to make sure they work okay. We’ll have to wait until summer and late fall to endorse my decision of the system. All in all, I am very pleased with Hobbs Home Comfort (JR Hobbs). The communication was great, the installation was great and, so far, the equipment is great, as best I can tell at this early juncture.
Hobbs Home Comfort recently replaced my 20 year old HVAC system for a brand new Lennox system (4 units in total). Jeff came out to the house, was more knowledgeable than any of the other companies that had come to give me quote. He offered lots of information and advice and I felt comfortable that this company knew what they were doing. The price was great and the installation very neat. All furnaces are installed in drain pans on blocks (as it should be) to raise the furnaces in case some water gets in the drain pan. I can highly recommend these guys.
After FIVE attempts to fix my AC, I googled the problem and solved it under a minute. Dont bother with the worst. Find someone who knows something about heating & cooling.
Great service & prices. Highly recommend.
Service tech guys on time.and fixed a minor problem that I thought was going to cost me thousands.
They are very professional and highlyrecommending.
Customer service is very helpful
Company did very poorly when located in Central Florida.
