These guys made this entire travel experience enjoyable. Not planning on half the moving but got so much more. They installed some brake thingy my other half wanted in a very reasonable time. We did make an appointment which helped everyone. If you need a U-Haul in or around Lawrence I would definitely recommend these guys.

Tried the online pick up to save time ended up going in twice to get a truck the first truck was behind two others which they switched to the one in front. Really should have had one ready but it worked out. I would say just going in from the first would had worked faster or at least the same amount of time.

People were friendly at this location and truck was ready quickly, however I placed my order online to pick up a truck at another location without contact. The website said pick up the truck 24/7 when I arrive and use the website to pick up my truck it says wait until 9am Aug 19th when the store is open and speak with them. Its 5pm Aug 19th. I attempt to call U-Haul and get put on hold for 1 hour. At this point I edit my reservation transfer it to this store which is open tell 7pm and run over to pick up the truck. Thankfully they were open and had a truck the size I needed. U-Haul if you read this dont offer no contact 24-7 pickup if thats not possible and you dont have people to answer the phone.

One of the worst experiences I had with U Haul. One of the ladies in the shop called me about one and half hours before the time I had to return the truck and asked if I can return it to them early. And even said they will give a $50 discount if I do it. When I told her that my plan is to get it there as soon as I’m done unloading and it will be more like the actual contract time on the contract when I get there, she talked like as if I am doing something wrong and kept saying that she wats the truck by the contract time when I was saying that’s what my plan is.I assume they were busy, and they wanted the truck earlier than the scheduled time, but I should be given the time I was promised to keep it.I even did return it 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. Utterly unprofessional.

Organized well, got me what I needed when I needed it. Manager guy was amazing with employees. Doesnt affect my renting a truck or supplies over the last month but was good to see.

They were right, I haul. Good news is they had a trailer big enough to haul all of my emotional baggage which let me tell you is a lot. I mean I thought I would have to hire a semi truck to do the job but no, these guys got what you need. Plus theyre really nice.

I rented a truck for 24hours, and returned it about 15 minutes before its due. The staff did not process the return until the return time has passed, and had me pay for the daily charge and insurance twice. Had I not checked the receipt by visiting the uhaul website, I wouldnt have noticed this happened. Sure, I am not the only customer and the process could have been delayed, but at least she knew I returned it on time and should have entered the return time so that I pay for only one day. She did not say what the total amount would be and just told me I was good to go, and I trusted her but I should have checked. I called uhaul and after waiting for 53 minutes (yes, I was intent on reporting this issue), I was finally able to talk to someone who would issue a refund. Very bad experience.

They undoubtedly think Im not really me after renting to me twice in the past. I have an out of state ID on file (Yes, Its the neighboring state that i moved from using one of your trucks that you have the records of on file). Out of state phone number (Same state, Same reason). You have multiple addresses (Yes, and again you have the records of my address that I moved to and from each time. I bet my moving from address this time definitely matches my moving to address one year ago...) The pictures on both my IDs are probably the same person (ME). I guess next I need to write Congress and Senate to strike down the law requiring residents to update their ID when relocating to another state. BTW Its a REAL ID!!!Sorry, I just had to rant because my whole life I have tricked friends, family, employers, Google and the Federal & State Governments... but not UHAUL...BTW I should have mentioned this before you read my review but anyone that is associated with me can no longer rent from Uhaul either! Sorry to get you involved but as I was told... there is ALWAYS Budget and Penkse! :-)

Terrible service. Had a bunch of issues with my order, and the manager didnt call back and completely ignored my issues. They charged me for way more than the agreed upon price and didnt do anything to fix the problem. Will likely not use Uhaul again in the future.

A very easy process. Staff were friendly and accomadating. As others have pointed their parking lot could use some more space. Otherwise we came under budget for what we were planning for our move, so five stars.

Amazing staff....I had some serious problems with my trailer wiring and I was already running late. Chris wired it up very quickly for me and explained it while he did it. I know Ill be using them again. Great staff 10/10

No on site parking. Had to take my car home and walk back for my rental. Wouldn’t let me check out my truck so all I had to do was pick it up. And to top it off the guy at the desk had the nerve to say it would make it easier for me. All it did was waste a colossal amount of my time. U haul is a joke in general. Won’t be renting a truck from them again any tome soon.

Got a hitch put on the car with no issues but on moving day unfortunately the trailer lights were not working. We troubleshoot everything we know how then call my dad (the electrician) who recommended we have uhaul check their work. We called uhaul, got hung up on while on hold, called back waiting another 20 min on hold to make an appointment (covid) & were told simply to take it back over to the local location and we didnt need an appointment. Husband gets there & hes told he has to make an appointment & next available date it the day after were supposed to be moved out... what a very bad impression and poor customer service, I should NOT be made to feel like IM the inconvenience.

MAKE SURE you take a photo of the dashboard showing mileage and fuel level before you start. IT CAN SAVE YOUR DAY!!!Truck pick up was fine and without any incident. However, when i returned the truck the UHAUL guy behind the desk claimed the fuel level was lower that at the pick up time and i have to pay the hefty fuel charge plus the service fee. I showed him the contract and the photo of gauge display at the time i picked it up. I brought the truck with even more fuel back. The guy wasnt impressed and told it is no proof and i had to pay. I FELT LIKE BEING SCAMMED. I left and grabbed another representative on the scene. It took me like 30 minutes to get out of there without additional charges.

My reservation was incorrect, the truck rental did not have the correct size hitch installed, the tried to charge me for extra time, and after waiting for over 12 minutes to wait to speak to someone, the customer service rep told me Id have to speak to an in store manager and hung up on me when I suggested that they should have a means to transfer my call to a manager. The local staff were friendly and helpful, but my overall experience was overwhelmingly frustrating and a complete waste of my time and money. It ended up costing me $160 in related expenses. I will go anywhere else before I go back here again.

Rented a tow dolly from here and had the unfortunate experience of having my tow vehicle break down en route to my destination (with another broken down car!!!) I wasnt able to get where I was going and I had to return the dolly a day late. Explained the circumstances to the manager and he helped me tremendously by not charging me extra for having the dolly back late due to my truck needing repair. Seemed to understand and care about my situation which isnt always the case nowadays. Much appreciated and I will definitely continue doing business here!!!

Despite a statewide mandate to wear masks, all employees at this location continue not to wear them. If you care about your own safety, avoid this uhaul location. Also, call the police and let them know.

Pick up and drop off went well. Problem is I dropped off trailer 6 hours early, They said the systems were down and would receive a receipt later in the day. When I got the contract/receipt it said I returned trailer after 6:30 and was charged for another rental period. Have made phone calls to Uhaul and emails and nothing yet has happened. Was told I would hear back from General Manager of location and have not heard anything. Will not ever go to this location again. Theres other places to rent from.

I had a hitch installed today at this location. I booked it online and prepaid with a set appointment. The store was understaffed and there was only one tech in the garage installing hitches. My appointment was at 3pm and my car didnt go in until 4:30pm. The tech was super friendly and did quality work. The rest of the staff were friendly as well. Because I waited over 3 hours for the installation to be completed, the tech discounted the job equal to the already charged labor. Overall a good experience with a long wait time on a Friday at the beginning of a holiday and college move out weekend in Lawrence. I am still satisfied and Id go back there.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIMEservice was a disaster. We had a reservation at 10am Saturday for a trailer. Walked in to one service rep at the desk. Another service rep was working on a truck and didn’t have time to assist the 15 people within the store Saturday morning. We walked in at 10 and left at 10:45 after not being helped and told to wait, although we had the reservation. Go rent local (sunflower or Anderson Rentals) we were on and off the site within 10 minutes at Anderson.

Service was great, staff super friendly! its extremely disappointing that customers are unable to park on property when renting local!!!!! This is a major inconvenience ☹️ so much so that I would think twice before renting here again unfortunately.

Went on arguably one of the busiest days possible to pick up a truck. That said, after using the app to do a self pickup for my truck, nothing was ready and the employees seemed really confused about everything. Overall, not the worst visit to a rental place, but it was far from the easiest process. Bright side, since I dropped the truck off at 3am at least that wasnt complicated.

Very nice people to work with for a move

I was told 1.5 hrs for my hitch installation. 4 hours later I hadn’t even received a call to update me on my vehicle. Management was rude and unapologetic for the delay. Travel any distance you have to for more professional service.I was later told by management that they told me it could take up to 4 hours. This was a lie and had I known that I would have scheduled my vehicle in earlier in the day. Disappointing service over all.

Very bad place to rent anything! Bad customer service and they dont really try to help you. They charge you late fees for everything even when they gave me the wrong date to return the vehicle. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

The staff at this location went above and beyond again and again to help me when I was in a tight spot - I absolutely recommend renting from this location.Dave and Tyler stayed for three hours after closing time to help me fix a wiring problem with my truck, and Malcom made sure that I was only billed for the one day I actually used the trailer (even though the wiring issue on my end extended my rental to two days).Every staff member I worked with was courteous, helpful, and dedicated to providing great customer service.

I tried to call them 15 min. Before they closed to ask if I can return a trailer and no answer. We arrived at 7 when they closed but there were still people in the lot. I asked if I can return the trailer. The young guy said no. They are closed. I said we had driven 1500 miles and worked hard to unloaded and tried to call to ask them to stay for 5 min. To return the trailer. He said they were too busy to answer the phoneSo sorry. Come back tomorrow. REALLY? I had to come back in the morning and the person in the morning returned the trailer and it took him exactly 5min. To unhook and got me my receipt. 5 stars for him. Zero star for the kid on night shift. His customer service attitude sucks.

I booked with them for a pretty epic move to Canada. The service was outstanding. The manager was very courteous, he basically helped load my truck.

Had a trailer hitch for a uncommon car in stock. Well worth the hour drive. Other places were 50-100 higher and didnt have them in stock.

They were really friendly people and worked with me on circumstances which was highly appreciated. Really saved me some money got me the best deal.

It is a bit of an oversight when the line is to the door and only one employee is allowed/able to/trained to check out equipment.

Do not give out your phone number unless you want multiple calls even after telling them youre not interested. They “do not keep customer files” so you cannot opt out of being called for current and future rentals. The reps on the phone will get snarky with you if you ask them to remove you from all communications.Also do not try to rent for longer than 24 hours through the reps, their system only allows for up to 24h unless you book it online. Which is unfortunate if youre moving and have no PC internet access.Note: Normally the call issue would be on corporate, as they are the ones calling. However the information I provided was over the phone to a rep at this location and at the end of the call, I told them I was no longer interested and that I would be using another company for the rental.

I would travel to kingdom come before I use them again. I traveled under or around 20 miles more then I guess they allowed with the Uhaul truck, filled it backup with gas n delivered it back to them n got charged $60 more. But they didnt charge me then, they hit my debt card up for it 2 weeks later.. Shame on Uhaul Shame on u....

Checking out a vehicle was pretty easy, however there were a couple of problems.The fuel gauge on the paperwork was at 15/16ths but the vehicles fuel gauge was under 7/8ths so before I even started the truck we owed the business money. We drove the truck 9 miles and had to spend $17 in gas.About 20 minutes after renting the truck we returned it and handed the keys to a worker. The same worker called the next day and accused me of not turning it in.Probably wouldnt recommend to a friend.

I visited this U-Haul numerous times in preparation for my across country move. Each time I went in, it didnt matter who was at the counter, they acted like they had something better to do than address me and my needs. Customer service is severely lacking.
