I really like Dr Bloom he really understands me. He’s very knowledgeable. They make me feel comfortable. 5 star kind of doctor.

Went in for my annual physical. Contactless online check in is a timesaver!! Less than 10 minute wait, then in the exam room. Never felt rushed at anytime, with good suggestions, thoughtful answers, and a thorough exam. Being able to get lab work done onsite is an added bonus.

Dr. Dan Severa is the doctor I trust. Because of my health situation, I’m required to see many doctors. I’m fortunate to have a very knowledgeable team. However, Dan has a real interest in providing the very best care for the most positive outcome for all of his patients. For that I’m very grateful to be seen by this group and Dan.

Ladies, do not get your IUD done here. Dr. Bloom is the only physician in the office who is authorized, and he gave me the most horrific experience of my life during my insertion. After literally getting sick and unable to drive home from the pain, he and his nurse refused to help. They essentially accused me of drug-seeking behavior and told me to go to the ER if it hurt so bad. They did not offer to check the placement or do anything to help. This was my third IUD insertion, and 1000x worse than anything I had ever experienced. I ended up reporting him to my insurance and hope no one else has to go through this. He has a lot of good reviews here, so hopefully hes educated himself on womens health in the past few years.Ive also had issues with the billing department multiple times due to incorrect billing codes (it did always get resolved at least, after the back and forth with insurance). Lastly, after the switch to AdventHealth, they did not return my voicemails requesting an appointment for 2+ weeks. Just bad experiences all around, I finally had to write a review. There are a few physicians at this location that are very caring and helpful, but they do not overshadow everything else I have experienced.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I’ve been with this practice for over 10years now, and never had any issues! Dr. bloom has been exceptional, and every receptionist I’ve come in contact with over the years has been informative and eager to help. I live in Colorado and still come to this practice! Thanks guys… you truly are the real deal

As a new patient, I expected to wait weeks or even months to get into a service provider. However, this was not the case. I actually named 2 dates that worked for me & either of these dates were available. When I came to my appointment, I hardly even waited in the waiting room. I was called back quickly. The PA did not seem rushed when I was in the & did a thorough check. She ordered some tests & also had a plan if the tests do not show anything. My only complaint is that I was told I would get results the next day & 2 business days later, I still havent. I was able to check results online.

Check in was quick & easy. I didnt have to wait long. I like Stacy. She always makes me feel like she truly cares. I live in Topeka & I drive to Lawrence cause I like the care I receive from Family Medicine Assoc.

Nurses are considerateDr Schrader is thorough and listens. She is caring and refers when needed. The doctor follows through after visits or when I’ll or taking new drug. Excellent family doctors and staff. Would highly recommend.

Physical started on time. Covid protocols were observed. The exam was thorough and confidence inspiring. Dr. Schrader was focused, professional and attentive as usual. Professional staff was great.

I actually enjoy going to the doctor when I go to Family Medicines Associates. Everyone at this office is kind, courteous, and caring. Every visit is like going to see a group of friends, really smart friends that can help you keep your health on track! This office also has an impressive walk-in clinic, if you have an urgent need you don’t have to schedule an appointment, you just show up!

Professional and courteous I was able to connect with a Doctor (and his health care team) that was able to speak to my needs and also support any ongoing care concerns. This place is a good, consistent family practice. I recommend for folks that may not have a PCP in the area because they are new or are trying to find a different practice.

My family had been using doctors at this practice for over a decade, and had, mostly, been satisfied with the level of care. Nobody was ever really ill past an occasional sinus infection, but we felt like we were getting adequate care. This year, I became extremely ill to the point I could not work for many months. They could not figure out what was wrong with me. It took a hospitalization seven months after first going in to say something was wrong to get an accurate diagnosis. Maybe they are fine for the routine medical care stuff, and mine is a strange case. However, that is not why I am writing this review. During one of my normal office visits I was charged an extra about $60 for care above and beyond my copay. I do have insurance and I am supposed to pay a flat fee for the doctor’s visit, which I did. They charged me this extra amount anyway. Due to being too sick to work, I couldn’t pay it. About 3 months after the first bill, they left me a nasty voicemail demanding money immediately or they would send me to collections. I called them back and told them I was temporarily unemployed due to a combination of COVID and my health, and I could not pay right now. They immediately sent me to collections and sent me a letter telling me they were dropping me as patient and I would need to find another doctor. They were completely unwilling to work with me after my whole family had been seeing them for over a decade, and did not care about my extenuating circumstances. All over one less than $60 bill that was only a few months old. I am not even sure they could really charge me that because Im supposed to have a flat copay for an office visit. I sent a message to my primary care doctor telling them of the response from the billing office, but they never messaged me back. I cannot recommend avoiding this practice enough. If you’re really sick, like me, they won’t be able to figure out what’s wrong. If you fall onto hard times, they don’t care at all. They will just send you to collections and drop like you’re nothing.

We just moved here from Wichita. My husband called and asked who we could see, and for what we needed. I saw their PA Sara Holmes and could not have been happier with my experience. She was attentive and seemed truly interested in coming up with the best resolution. Highly recommend giving them a call for your care.

Dr. Shrader is the best doctor I’ve ever had. She took her time to really understand any issues you have and made you feel like you had somebody on your team. She gave me a detailed plan and within half a year I have never felt more healthy. I cannot emphasize how much this has meant to me and my wife both. I would highly recommend this facility and Dr. Shrader.

Family Medicine Associates has been my go to general practitioner and walk in clinic option for years. The staff are all friendly, professional, and patient (they are great with my 3 year old when I have to bring him with me). My only complaint would be that sometimes appointments feel rushed, but I imagine thats true of most medical offices. I have never had to wait very long even for a walk in visit and the nurses do a great job following up with patients and making sure their patients are taken care of. I usually just see one of the PAs, but they have always been as good or better than doctors Ive seen elsewhere. My husband has been going to this office since he was a kid and doesnt consider going anywhere else unless absolutely necessary. This is a great office that provides a variety of services.

Our whole family is treated at Family Medicine Associates and we have seen most of the providers over the years for wellness visits and sick care. They have accessible walk in hours and staff that have been there a long time and know our family. The nurses answer line always provides helpful information. We have had various referrals to other providers from our doctors at Family Medicine Associates that they were helpful in organizing.

I can’t say enough good things about my primary care provider, Dr. Loree Cordova and her staff. From the moment I walk into the clinic, I’m always greeted with a cheerful face at registration, am promptly called back by the nurse who is patient and attentive. When Dr. Cordova walks into the room, she acts like you’re the only patient at the clinic, even though you know every room is full of other patients. She listens well, uses visuals to help explain anatomy, comes up with a clear plan of action, and sends me home with notes to help remind me of our plan. She is incredibly organized in her thoughts and how she approaches medical care. She’s all that AND so personable and fun!

I have been a patient of Dr Severa for many years. It still amazes me that they strive so hard to be professional and run on time. I can only think of one instance when they were running just a bit late. I was notified by text message. My doctors assistant is always there to return my calls if I have any questions. When I visit any other office I notice a big difference. There is also a walk in clinic. Its nice to know if you need to see someone your records are right there for them. Great place!

Dr. Jean Schrader and her nurse Marcie are the BEST! We have been in Lawrence for over 40 years and have used many doctors but Family Medicine practices exceed patient’s expectations. They’re so accommodating with my schedule as sometimes I have limited time away from work and they’re always accommodating me. Very polite, respectful and thorough check ups. I have recommended families and friends to them and will highly recommend this clinic.

I absolutely love Family Medicine Associates! Ive been to many doctors offices and this is the best! My PA Sara Holmes is amazing. She is always kind, takes her time, and is very knowledgable. Her nurse Eduardo is also amazing! He is understanding, kind and never judges you! I get nervous around guys but he always makes m feel at ease! Even the receptionists and phlebotomists are amazing! Family Medicine Associates is an excellent practice. I joined wanting to see a Dr. with a full patient load, Dr. Cordova, so they first booked me with her PA, B. Cook. Cook and her nurse are excellent. I never wait too long before I am seen (amazing) and I always feel well listened to. They have the right balance of listening to what I think I may need/want done and a good push to just do what needs to get done, even if I am not excited about it. (Hello mammograms). When, due to my schedule Ive had to see other PAs or Dr.s, its the same good care. But here is what I LOVE about them - they have an excellent and affordable set up for rapid Covid testing even if you are not a patient of the practice. It is such a desperately needed service and I feel that opening the tests to the public shows a commitment to the health of the larger Lawrence community.

My primary physician Dr. Jean Schrader I picked at random from a google search seven years ago as I didn’t have a doctor. She has been the best thing to ever happen to me and I have been listened too and my medical records reviewed and I received top notch professional care by a doctor who truly cares about the wellbeing of her patients. Loree Cordova is my primary care Dr. and has a bedside manner very few doctors have. She is very thorough and you have her complete attention to ask any/all questions. She really cares about how you are doing and goes above/beyond when follow up is needed. I have had Drs who treat you like a number and barely give 5 minutes of their time. I highly recommend Dr. Cordova.

DONT GO HERE. The doctors order unnecessary procedures to pad their income.... and they withhold medication (even long term vital medication). They also use punitive withholding of medication if you try and discuss the issue.They are criminal.

Family Medicine Associates has been my our families primary medical doctors office since 2004. We were referred by a sports friend (wrestling) and for now over 16 years we continue to go there and wouldn’t even consider changing offices! Every physician whether it’s our Primary or a PA is “AMAZING”! The staff (which includes front desk, billing, all nurses and lab are nothing less than top notch and professional). When COVID-19 hit our town you wouldn’t know the difference because FMA looks the exact same. It’s always been clean, neat and orderly. (always) NEVER would I expect anything less ... They’re always friendly and I never feel guilty calling after hours. EVER!! 😊

Dr Bloom is the best! I went with 12 years of back pain because all doctors said I was fine. First appointment with Dr Bloom and he ordered an X-ray and found out my back is messed up!! I am very impressed with this practice. They handle both scheduled visits and walk in visits even if you havent established care yet. The office is very clean, there is almost no wait time for scheduled visits (Ive yet to use the walk in clinic), Dr. Bloom took his time and made sure all of our questions and concerns were voiced and answered without ever once making us feel rushed, and the front desk staff are always polite and answer the phones. Im so happy our family found this place!

Front office are rude and liars. they bill out more if you have insurance than cash pay, but dont tell you that, until you get hundreds of dollars worth of bills that they send you to collection, then tell you if you pay the bill, they will see you for your needed meds. then as soon as payment recd, they say nope, cant see you, liars and thieves!
