I have used this shop twice now. The staff is very friendly. Their prices are fair, and their service is speedy and accurate. They have 2 separate waiting areas, toys for kids to play with and a tv to watch.
These guys rock! I had a flat in my tractor tire. I havent had to deal with this before, but knew the standard automotive tire chains werent really equipped to deal with such a large tire.D&D did a great job of getting it sorted out for me, quickly and for a reasonable price. Ill certainly consider taking my other vehicles to them in the future for tire service and replacement.
They were really good to us. My kids and I were, blessed! The guys up at D&D Tire has been taking care of my family for over 40 years. They really care about there customers and are friendly. Highly recommended and honest people! Thank you, so much!!
I’m bringing my truck in for new tires this week (usual great service, usual great price) and was just reminded I meant to say a huge thanks for the way D&D went above and beyond last summer. We were heading to Lake of the Ozarks, and on the spur of the moment, at the very last minute, bought a little fishing boat with an old trailer, then realized there was no way we could trust that trailer on the road. D&D squeezed us in the morning we were leaving, and the mechanic (wish I remember his name!) did some very impressive outside-the-box thinking, replacing the tires and one of the hubs and then turning the old shot hub into a serviceable spare. He also inspected the trailer and assured me it seemed structurally sound. Off we went that afternoon!
Although this shop is a little more expensive, they are way more convenient than some alternatives. They also are not pushy so you can trust them when they say they cant repair something. They were fairly accurate on their estimated completion time as they called before the stated time to give me a quote on the final price.
A truly local business that always the best service and fair prices. Ive been using them for over 30 years!
Good rates and the staff is fast and professional!
Always great and quick service with very reasonable pricing. Speak with Jom...
Always a pleasure doing business here! Best joint in town for tire service.
D and D is the only place to go for tires. They are honest, do great work, get you in and out fast. They only sell the best grade of tires. Don’t save $5 a tire and go to Walmart for the cheaper grade. I’ve been a customer for 15 years, own several cars and have been there more times than I can count. They make sure you get your moneys worth out of every set with free rotations and proper mounting and balance each time. Head and shoulders above their competitors.
Came from Topeka and arrived in Lawrence with a flat tire. They were all booked for the day, but since I had to leave and go back to Topeka they insisted on fixing my tire. Amazing staff! All so kind and thoughtful.
All ways a good experience
Great experience with these folks. Everyone is super friendly and professional. I had an emergency situation and they got me right in on two separate occasions. Jason is a treasure! He took excellent care of my car, and it was no easy job, and he took the time to explain everything to me - with visuals. Very reasonable prices. Comfortable waiting room, fast wifi, and clean bathroom. Its easy to see why D&D Tire has been around for so long.Update - May 2020: While I still think D&D is great, especially Jason, I was extremely disappointed to see that none of the office employees were wearing masks and they had no social distancing measures in place.
We came from Wichita KS when we got a flat tire leaving our hotel. We were on a time constraint and picked the closest repair shop/best reviewed. They got us in right away, tried to fix the hole but was unrepairable, puta new tire on, found the lug bolts were stripped from tow service putting the spare on too tight, went out of their way to pick up new parts and we were out of there in less than 2 hours. Very friendly and accommodating.
Fast and easy! Best place for all my tires and a nice crew.
Employee Jason has great customer service and made me feel like he really cared about my car and my oil leak worry. He helped diagnose, but also went out of his way to check my car’s oil level after my appointment was over and also to fill my car up with oil. He was great and the owner is lucky to have him on site.
Friendly people who know what theyre doing. They are honest community minded. I have used their service for years and have never been disappointed.
Real Nice Folks at D&D. Real convenient location for me. Real Good Work on my boyfriends tires. (Real Shame that I got mine done at D****unt T*r*.)
Ive been using these guys for years. They have great service and fair prices. An added bonus of being in downtown Lawrence you can drop your car off go for a nice walk down Mass then come back and pick it up when youre done.
Great experience with D&D! Honest, helpful AND QUICK. Had to deal with a ruined tire on just a bad day. D&D was helpful beyond expectation and even gave me a quick ride to pick up vehicle. Professional, helpful and friendly with every aspect. Definitely recommend and will personally use again. They obviously believe in customer service!
Great customer service, fast, and very reasonably priced. No price gouging or upsells.10/10 will visit again.
The guys here are always honest about what my cars need. I appreciate that they tell me that nothing needs done right now or help me prioritize work that does need done when I cant just shove money at all at once. Work is done when they say it will be.
Jim at D an D always goes above and beyond for my family or others I send to him for their tire needs
Best place in Northeast Kansas to buy quality tires and/or have a flat tire repaired! Awesome staff...busy because of great reputation. ..well worth the wait!
Great Service! I always feel that they give me an honest estimate of what is going on with my tires. Bought a new set from them this week, Im very satisfied!
Had to get a tire, reasonable prices and good service. Have gotten 4 from them now. They are great.
I came in about an hour from closing with a leak in my tire. They had time to take my car as a walk in and were able to get the issue taken care of in 10 minutes (turns out my valve stem was lose and leaking air). I had come in expecting and asking to buy new tires since I thought that my tread was worn too far and it would be easier to replace them than to fix the leak but the guy that helped me said they were fine and that I should just repair them. I really appreciated their honesty when they could have easily taken advantage of my naivete.I really appreciate their help and Im going to get the tires that are starting to bald on my other car replaced here since I was very impressed with how they treated me and my car.
I love bringing my car to D&D Tires. They are honest and do great work without trying to upsell you. Yes! They do more than just tires. Locally owned. Check them out!
I had a very bad experience at D&D tire. I have been a loyal customer for the 16 years weve lived in Lawrence. I recently purchased four Michelin tires which were expensive. On Wednesday October 17 I was driving to the airport and realized one of my tires was low on air. I immediately pulled off the road at the nearest exit and there happened to be a fire station nearby. I stopped at the fire station as I knew they would have an air station. They filled the tire and it exploded due to being over heated. I called D&D and was told that someone would look at the defective tire and determine whether it would qualify under the tire warranty or if they could give me a good will discount on a new tire. Jim at D&D told me to leave the tire and he would get back to me with his findings. After not hearing from anyone, I called and found out that the replacement tire was already mounted without any cost adjustment. I specifically asked to be called with their findings. Its disappointing when a small local business doesnt stand behind their products or take care of their most loyal customers. I will never again do business with D&D tire and will go out of my way to not recommend them to my friends, family members and colleagues. There are other better alternatives.
The people there was good service they knew my dad Pablo senior they said they knew me for when I was a little boy, theres guys been working there for 30 to 35 years they kind of remember me with my dad my dad did some side work part-time plumber I went in with them every time when you had to work on the job private homes to you have a good day people Pablo jr.
Honest, friendly, communicative, fair price.Thank you!!
Great service. Stand behind their work. Always work in my best interest. Wont sell you something you dont need. Honest and reliable.
Wonderful! They treat me as if Im a daughter of theirs. They always take care of me and my car and in a timely matter. And most importantly as a college student, very affordable!
I had a great experience at the DND tire place today! As a repeat customer I really appreciated that.
I dont know whats going on with this rating system but Ive rated D&D as Excellent - Quality, Very Good - Appeal and Excellent - Service. Didnt come out that when when I originally posted the review! The people, management and installers, were extremely helpful and friendly. The ONLY place Ive found selling 8.00x16.5 tires for my Motor Home.Mounted and balanced in quick time by helpful personnel.I downgraded the Appeal rating only due to the tires on display in the showroom area - they fill it up! Women may not appreciate the appearance.
I was on my way to Ft Reilly, I blew a trailer tire and didnt have a spare. I was able to get it to D&D tire, they backed me in,changed the tire and had me back on the road in less than 30 min. I would highly recommend D&D Tire!
The guys at d&d are amazing. Great group of people.
If I could leave one star I would...Looking for a mechanic in Lawrence? We had an alignment done here and my husband kept hearing a rattling noise noise under the right front and looked behind the tire and look what we found... Went by this morning hoping they would make it right and they were more concerned about their snap on vise-grips than about our safety concerns associated with their mistake. We will not go back...
Quick service to change a tire. Always the best!
Honest folk who are good at what they do and stand behind thier work. Would recommend to anyone .
Awesome! Super nice guys and did a wonderful job. I will be back. Thanks again!
They fix all kinds of tires from cars to semi trucks. Great prices and quick service. Less than $40 to fix a flat on my semi tractor.
I have been using D & D for 13 years. They are a very busy place and it is hectic in there at times, but my experience with customer service (Jim) has always been very good. They have worked to accommodate me in a time of family emergency and also work to meet deadlines when they tell you that your car will be ready. I have bought two sets of tires from them and their prices are competitive with the other local tire stores. They do not tack on hidden fees and charges as do the other local stores...they tell you exactly what the total is going to be. My suggestion is that when you need something worked on you get it there by 7:15am if at all possible. They will do their best to help you out and get you on your way.
D&D was able to put a new set of tires on my car the same day I called and they found me a rebate.
Picked up a screw along the Kansas Turnpike. Pulled into D &D and they had me in/out in less than an hour for $20! Thanks for the great service! Hope the patch holds all the back to Minnesota!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff...they are the best
Great service
If I ever have problems with my breaks or need tires they are the place to go. They are a little higher then Walmart but consider the source. D&D Tire is home town Lawrence thats why I like going there. They are honest and fair priced. They have enough business so they dont need to be high priced. I like D&D Tire.
Great Service. Very caring staff.
Service was courteous and the wait time was decent, only issue was the price it was a little higher than Im used to paying for a used tire but they got me go home to Texas safely.
I had a flat on a weekday morning. Bad start to a day for sure, I was able to get home, and I called around and landed on D&D. They opened at 730 and are an independent local shop, so I figured I would give them some business.I should have stopped after the phone call, they were short and unfriendly, but I didnt. I went there, they said it would be about an hour, but I was happy when I saw it getting worked in about 30 instead.40 minutes later, I was told it was a rebuild kit on my TPM that was leaking, $8 for that and labor, $25 total, I was happy. The next day, the tire was flat again!Took it to Discount Tire, they met me at the door with a smile, found the nail in the tire that D&D couldnt. Fixed it up right.I would like to have my $25 back. But mainly my time.Dont waste yours.
Never have failed me yet when it comes to needing a 911 emergency used tire for my unfortunate and unexpected frequent flats or blowouts. Always quick and affordable
My mother has been going to D & D for years. Recently she purchased new tires for her car. She noticed that D & D put a different lug nut on one of the tires of her car. It sticks out and doesnt look the same as the others. She went in to have them put the correct lug nut back on. Not only did they imply that it had always been that way (incorrect, this is a new car), but then someone said that he remembered the car and it had a missing lug nut also incorrect as D & D services her tires. Then they wanted to charge her for a new lug nut. Sorry D & D, youve lost multiple customers in our family now due to your treatment of our mother over a $5.50 lug nut. Very poor customer service.
After a 10 hour work shift I went to D and D tire. I had 2 tires that needed replaced. They replaced both tires put the new tires up front older ones to the rear. I came in a at 7:50 in the morning and by 8:25 I was on the road back home . I was well pleased by the quality and the speed at which they worked to get me done
Great people there. Extremely clean restrooms. Honest and friendly.
Great prices, local family owned business. Excellent knowledgeable staff.
Need to open early than 8:00 had to wait 45 min to get tire fix that coust the company money waiting for tire repair
Best price and service
Really great service and always have the best advice on tires.
Always friendly and down to business!
Huge shout out to Jim & the gang for calling us back, THANKS. After buying a set of tires and getting an all wheel alignment wks ago; they contacted us to state their work may have been questionable due to a calibration issue. Other shops probably would have carried on and let the tires wear improperly. Old time Lawrence business (second generaton) where the staff realizes their customers sign each individuals check. Highly recommended!!!
Great place to buy tires!! Re
Called D & D 13 minutes before they closed flat on the highway made it to within three miles. Pat answered and not only assisted with spare on his way home but went back and repaired our flat. Thank you!!!!
D & D is the best place for car maintenance and tires.
Oil change, repair. Great service and always helpful when a problem. Always buy my tires here and trust D& Ds service people.
Very helpful people.
Fast friendly service at a good price.WinWin!
Always get great service here.
Not fancy but good work and prices
Great job and great price
A had my car towed here a few months back and they changed my tire that same day. Cost about $100 but it was done quickly.
Pricing is great! Customer service is great!
Very fast and good service .
Like many other reviewers on here, we had a couple of terrible experiences with their customer service. They were extremely rude to both me and my husband on different occasions. My husband went to pick up our car after they had worked on it, and the first time he pushed the brake pedal it went all the way to the floor and the brakes barely engaged. He immediately went back in and told them, and they were very rude and condescending and acted like they didnt believe him. He made one of the guys come out and try the brakes, and he told him they were fine and that they would tighten up over time. We couldnt believe the way they treated us. They act like theyre entitled to make money without treating their customers right. There are other local businesses that will do a better job AND treat you with a bit of respect.
Fixed me up quickly. Thanks.
Got me in for a walk in tire patch and rotation in less than an hour. Friendly employees!
This place was awful. I had my car towed there after a car accident and needed two new tires. D&D told me my cars suspension and axil were also damaged so they needed to fix them. Thinking this would only take a couple of days max, I told them to go ahead and fix everything. Every day for over one week, D&D would call me and tell me they ordered the wrong part and would have to wait for a new part to come in. Being a girl who doesnt know much about cars, they treated me horribly, like I was an inconvenience to them and like I was stupid. I had my dad and boyfriend call to talk to them since they were so rude to me. Finally, after one week and two days in the shop, my dad called and D&D said it would be ready later that day. They did not even call to tell me it was ready. I picked it up at almost their closing time, and had to wait 10 mins to get it because they hadnt written up a ticket yet. When I got into my car, the tire pressure light was on. The next day, I called and the receptionist said I could bring it back in for them to turn it off. When I brought it back in a few days later, I told Jason, the mechanic who worked on my car the entire time it was in the shop, what was wrong. He acted like he had no idea who I was and that he had no recollection of working on my car. He refused to try resetting the tire pressure light and told me it had to be something wrong with my pressure sensor and he could write me up an estimate. I was upset at this and left. I took my car to Wal-mart for an oil change that same day and had Wal-mart look at the tires. They said they took my tire pressure and it was almost double what it should be on the two wheels D&D replaced. So basically, D&D over blew my tires and they could have blown out while on the road. Needless to say, I am never going to take my car there again.
Best shop in Lawrence
This month I had my first couple experiences with D&D Tire; they will also be my last.I brought in my relatively new car (only 11,000 miles on it) to have a leaky tire repaired, having found and removed a drywall screw. They were able to get me in that day, and patched my tire in about 45 minutes while I waited. Theyre also cheap—$16 plus tax. Yet as another reviewer mentioned, their shop is really dirty. The waiting room probably hasn’t been cleaned since it was built (1950s, give or take a decade). I made the mistake of slinging my coat over the back of one of their coffee-stained chairs, and it brushed against the dust-caked window sill. I had to run it through the laundry when I got home. Furthermore, the service technician failed to use one of those disposable paper floor mats, and tracked mud onto my carpet floor mat. I hosed it down in a manual car wash bay, so it’s not a big deal. The good news is that my tire held pressure; D&D clearly fixed the leak. The bad news became apparent when I washed my car later that week (as mentioned above). Washing D&D’s dirt off of my wheel revealed a two-inch gouge in my rim, adjacent to the tire. Trust me, it was new damage. I detail my car by hand monthly.I fueled my car and drove back to D&D Tire. The manager didn’t repudiate their obvious guilt. He asked that I leave my car with them through the next day because they outsource to a guy out of Kansas City who runs a route to several area shops.Turns out this guy does good work. Running your finger over it, you can still feel the roughness, but he touched up the paint in a way that can’t be seen. For the second time, however, there was mud on my floor mat. My driver’s seat had been moved all the way down, way far back, and reclined at a 40° angle—gangsta’ style (seriously, who drives like that?). The headrest was tilted all the way forward, and there were five forensically viable fingerprints on the back of it. I found five more fingerprints on my center console, and yet another five on the back of my passenger’s seat, right where you’d put your hand when looking over your shoulder to back into a garage. Nice way to treat my pristine leather.Sadly, all of this pales in comparison to what I discovered next. Logging my car’s maintenance in a spreadsheet, I realized that D&D put exactly 100 miles on my car. As confirmation, a quarter tank of gas was missing (recall I fueled my car just before dropping it off the second time). They must have driven it to Kansas City, instead of having their guy come to Lawrence as they’d said. Not only did they not ask my permission nor tell me that they were going to do it, they didn’t tell me that they had done it. Trying to hide it from me, I only found out by watching my odometer like a hawk. That implies that they probably show the same disrespect to others’ vehicles, who in turn don’t notice. If you care about your vehicle, spend a few extra bucks and go to a shop that will respect it.
Great guys to work with.
They are great
Great service 👍👍👍
Great service.
These people are liars.
Awesome service, walked in with a flat at 8am and got my tire patched and rolling by 10am! Love these guys, honest solid work at great pricing, definitely wont go anywhere else!
