Denicia Rush and Celeste WIlliams! rememebr those names. If you are in their program, Write down everything and e-mail all interactions. they will throw anyone under the bus to keep their jobs. God dont like ugly remember that. I looked for numbers of the people above them and supervisors and they never responded. the entire agency needs to be audited and these women should not be in this line of work. my mother was in the program and the things they said to her are inexcusable. I asked Ellen for a number to a Kelley which was supposed to be her manager and nothing!

I recently suffered from a severe heart condition. One of my case managers referred me to these people. My case manager here is Shirley. Both her and her supervisor are excellent people and consistently stay in touch with me in managing my housing needs. Truthfully they make me feel like a person, not a number. Thank you God for these amazing people.

I wrote this review but they hacked my email and deleted.. First, I stayed at Shannon west & my eyebrows were getting cut there ( somebody is following me ) and now they won’t take me off as a client because I was treated WRONG on my job . Somebody went in and changed my address to my EBT & adding FALSE INFORMATION . Also, they went in my unemployment and change some information that it says, I am not allowed to work in the state of Nevada.. Beware before applying or getting assistance .

This program saved my life! They helped me without judgement and all they asked in return was that I deal with the issues that led me to need there help. I cannot believe anyone could have anything negative about this program but if they do they obviously werent in the program because I can honestly say that with out them I would have been dead. It was them that made me realize bad choice doesnt make anyone a bad person. They rely heavily on donations so if you want better services help them get donations bottom line! And if your looking for a place to donate too you wont find another charity more deserving. They change lives!!

Went there for an interview for a second time. No one told me how to even get in for the interview as the doors ate locked to the main entrance. My whole interview was fast due to the supervisor continuing to take calls. However, the star goes to the lady that was in the interview holly. She was very nice.

I currently awaiting a pending status from the chap assistance for rental assistance. I would like to give a big shout out to Maria Hernandez. She has been such a big blessing to have her assist me andy family. She has been in contact with me on a professional timely manner. She gave all information and what steps were needed in order for my family and the crisis that we are going through right now. Thank you once again for your help, time and consideration. The folks at HSN go above and beyond what you would expect. It takes a little patience and you have to be willing to work with them. So many people show up but are not willing to do anything to help themselves and just expect everything for nothing and they expect it right now. But these wonderful people weather all the BS. and just keep on pushing. My girlfriend and I want to especially give thanks to Chris Engel for all of his hard work and all of the hoops he helped us jump through to get the help we were hoping for and so much more. And thank you to all of the staff at help for being patient with us and not giving up on us.

Was told by the outreach people that if i get rid of my cat they can get me housed immediately. Well my cat is my child and thats not fair. So i continue to call and check in and receive the same answer still have the cat ? Well sorry tp hear that call and let me know if you can find soneone to take the cat. That is why i call this place NO HELP FOR SOUTHERN NEVADA

This place was slightly helpful with job leads, but not as helpful as I thought. They didn’t really “help” me, because I needed to go to a shelter/emergency housing right away. I was given job leads, and other community referrals.I had a job at that time, but was only able to work part time due to my child’s weekly school schedule.One lady helped me out, and was able to talk to me when I got emotional explaining my situation to her. She’s Caucasian, has glasses and rosy cheeks from what I remember.Overall, if you’re experiencing homelessness in Vegas, your best bet is to save your money/paychecks and leave the state all together like I did. Best decision ever!!Homelessness in Vegas is out of control!!!

Its been many years since Ive gone to H.E.L.P. OF SOUTHERN NEVADA Ive even referred others to get help...So been close to 10 yrs since Ive been there.Just have a simple question for whosoever that may have THE answer to my question!My friend & I share a car together, were extremely short on cash, & a 1/4 tank of gas to last for remainder of month, & we both have doctors appointment(s). Were both rely on our social security checks & need some help, with a gift card to get some gas to get us to our appointment(s) then I also know this place offered ONCE UPON a TIME voucher(s) for grocery store(s)neither one of us have much food EITHER!Does anyone know if this place able to help EITHER me, my friend, or both of us?PLEASE let me know ASAP!?!Went back NOT TOO LONG AGO!They were GREAT! Other UNABLE to reach anyone on phone! Tried multiple times couldnt talk to ANYONE!Finally went BACK 4-5 times she never done before BUT ONCE she told me everything I needed other than my 10 day disconnect bill she was great! Once she finally said everything I needed & BROUGHT to her she got everything done& SENT to right place

I’m not sure what to think about this place it seems like they rush you to get all of your personal information don’t give you no time whatsoever and once they receive your information you do not hear from them whatsoever you cannot get through their phone line you cannot email them aside they just disappear and it makes me a little nervous because this is personal information I’ve sent and when I finally get in touch with the operator she’s rushing me off of the phone and not trying to help me get in touch with my case manager Veronica whatsoever I was able to get in touch with my case manager with no problem through email and her phone line when she needed me to send stuff to her but once she received everything I don’t even get a ring I cannot get in touch with her whatsoever I need someone to get in contact with me ASAP

Very helpful. Very knowledgeable. Had a refrigerator full of water we were advised to help ourselves to. And they even made a full pot of fresh coffee. Children were offered small containers of milk. It helped take away the urgency of our need for being there. I for one am most grateful for this.

I was at this location for the Christmas toy drive. I really love the way they have it set up now as opposed to 11 months ago when I first went. No one is there all day anymore. Youre pretty much in and out. But they also help with other needs and resources and that one may need.

Been here before(2014-2015) and the service was great me and the wife and kids were seen and had help within the week. Now this time i go in by myself and for some reason social services sent me here i get there the worker at the front desk informs me they cut the program due to insufficient funding...now mind you its 104 outside time wasted while catching the bus..with facing a 5 day eviction notice...if anyone knows of revenue thats available for rental assistance please let me know....

They refuse to get me a place to stay under the hopwa program which means housing for people with HIV and AIDS and come to find out they were still in from my grant for 5 years

My middle and high school students were at the facility that houses young adults. We were there to be a blessing to those who were less fortunate by giving them stockings filled with toiletry items, hats, gloves, sweaters, etc. We gave them some snacks and fruit to eat. We also sang some Christmas carols and our principal gave a short motivational talk to the residents. The programs that were set for the residents were very impressive and it gave the impression that the residents were set up for success. Enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning next year.

They are a complete joke. They said they were gonna help me find housing and when they found out I was a veteran, they said they couldnt help me and pushed me off to the v.a. they are such a joke!

This place its amazing. It has four buildings to accommodate office services. Customer service is extremely professional. If you need help and youre down and out this is definitely a place that will uplift you.

I had to wait a little while because I just showed up with no appointment. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The case manager was also helpful with information and answered most questions I had before I asked them.

They ask questions and documentation that WELFARE doesnt even ask! I tried applying for Thanksgiving day help and the stuck up worker was SO upset because I am a household of 1. So I guess I should not celebrate holidays because I am one person. This place is a JOKE!! They dont help, they are entitled, and extremely into peoples business. Why help then. People just go to Catholic Charities- at least they have feelings.

Too long of a wait they told me they just wanted to tell me I got my housing,but the thing about it is I have to wait for 6months to a year I can be dead by then.they sleep in a bed I sleep on concrete with a broken back it sucks makes you feel like nothing.

I hear this place is actually a pretty good place to go for the homeless people that need help housing but I seen they had a large building full of clothes food backpacks anything that people need for cold weather or warm weather I tried to get some action taken in one of the centers for helping a homeless woman and Ive discovered that the waiting list is quite long then it can also be very short if you have medical conditions or if you have a more severe needs in the next person thats before you I heard how they deal with their public cuz Ive seen how they do with their public they dont answer the phones very very hectic and fast-moving in a fast-paced because they have so much to do in there such a little agency that they probably need more help more donations being there a nonprofit organization so donations would be greatly appreciated and if they need bus passes to help people to go to other places then go ahead and donate bus passes to anybody that needs it thats a very good idea I feel that they should donate bus passes I dont know how is rated on the Stars I cant really tell you what I think about that cuz I know that theres a lot of hectic in and out a lot of homeless like any other City homeless is a bun and everywhere you go but theyre out there trying to help doing their best so I gave him a to thumbs up instead of a star but like I said donate them bus tickets because people need them lets talk about bus passes how about the homeless needed bus passes to travel along the city what about those people that need to leave the city to go back to where they need to go bus passes are greatly needed throughout the United States the United States is very large theres many states in those States what is a 5150 to return Alaska to Hawaii I want to go to Hawaii in Hawaii 5150 I want to go to Hawaii Hawaii Hawaii is Vinnies theres many many states in the United States oh yeah lets donate lets get today little bit of Charity helps everybody hey and you know what Christmas is two months away so you could say its a tax write-off is there a nonprofit organization so do your part donate today tell me

I ust to stay in the s.o.r room paying rent and living at shann west. Very unprofessional staff . Very terrible landlord. Landlords do not follow lease. Very racist and play favorites. During covid 19 they did not enforce proper protocols. Food will get you sick. Shann says there a non-profit. But yet they do the most extra when money is donated. 100% terrible placee

Jody really helped me with my application for weatherization of my home. This organization does so much for Southern Nevada. If you need help, they will help you or be able to point you to the right places.

Be careful of this place. When I first started with them years earlier. They were fantastic h. The caseworker genuinely put qualified effort into helping you. That was when Linda ran it, & she demanded people be treated decently. Since Linda died this place is nothing but corruption. Caseworker are especially not to be trusted. They assigned Genesis Lightbourne to my case. Obviously no backroud checks are being done. This woman attached herself on me like glue. At my house every day and night breaking every rule and law there is. Insisted on handling my SS disability case. After being denied in record time she let my 9 year old case close. Without telling me. Lied to me for months Even after quitting from HELP she would not leave me alone. I refiled my case and won a year later. Minus 9 years of back pay she cost me by intentionally closing my case. HELP employees never stopped providing this predator with personal information and gossip about my business. Im not the only one. Genesis Lightbourne has never left me alone. I hold Crystal Williams personally responsible for not putting a stop to it. Do not trust these people. They take your vulnerability and use it for their own purposes. Joy DAmour

Where do I begin... First off, any reviews about this place that are positive are just falsehoods. There is nothing about this place that help anyone but the staff who work there. I have been homeless in Las Vegas for 8 months now and nothing in the months leading to being homeless and actually being homeless, was ever offered or even suggested by the staff here even came close to being useful. Shame on all of you who claim to be advocates of the less fortunate. What they are doing is beyond criminal.

These people are awesome. When I was home they helped me and pute in an apartment and to help me get back on my feet. Now Im on my own and doing well. Thank you help of southern Nevada for all you help. I would recommend these guys to everyone

Good place for someone to go if they need assistance in southern Nevada. They offer referrals to other assistance programs, help with housing, run a food bank at another site, and offer help with baby supplies. They also provide community service for people who need that, for work, probation, or to volunteer.

Went here for rental assistance never needed it before but fell on hard times. Was informed that they havent had funds in a year. A year! That was mind blowing only to be referred to Social Services... And they only help you if you dont have any type of income. Just pending Ssi or TANF and have a place to stay. Didnt make any sense because you cant get an apartment with pending income and TANF isnt enough to pay for rent. I have seriously lost hope in Las Vegas. Been here 15 years and Its time to just go. If you cant help your residents then you shouldnt have any.

First I would like to say this place does offer help...their holiday help is awesome, but they reward people for being late when their papers say be there at 1:30 to pick up free gifts and the person before them was there on the time they are supposed to, they put the late person before them. Also i volunteered to drive a lady there to pick up for her 15 year old son....she was so disappointed that she only got a football and a $50 gift card😒 granted yes it was free...but seriously HELPSONV??!! You raised half a million on gift cards alone...you couldnt give her $200...so sad. Anyways happy holidays?!

You have to be homeless for a year and im stuck on streets qith my little dog . Trying to get to doctors appointments for my neck back and hand surgery . I was a trucker and had a wreck come home to not having a home . I dont know to do . I realized friends and family dont want to help me get thru this im doing it alone . But since they gave a bag pack i get them 3 stars wish they could help bit it aint been a year yet ....

HELP of Southern Nevada runs a predatory youth shelter called the Shannon West Youth Shelter. There has been blatant and rampant mistreatment of homeless youth, some of which reported sexual abuse by the African American supervisor. My underwear was tampered with by this predatory supervisor, who then economically coerced me into cancelling work at the threat of kicking me out of the shelter and therefore preventing me from qualifying for curfew extension past 6:00 P.M. Racism and transphobia permeates throughout their youth shelter program.Several advocacy nonprofits have cracked down on Help of Southern Nevada for the aforementioned abuse, especially after I, and all other brave youth, spoke up. If you are at risk of homelessness, you are better off seeking help from St. Judes, Salvation Army, or another shelter program.

So, my case worker kicked us out of the program A New Start dab smack in the middle if this pandemic and has told me that we are unable to get more rental assistance from HELP. Please be careful with their housing programs. They say long term but find any and every way they can to kick you out after 3 months.

They Help homeless but it seems unfair. They seem to discriminate in choosing who to help. The housing they may provide is extremely repulsive. From bedbug infestation to black mold exposure to illegal rude and invaissive authority drunkin staff and a complete deprivation of privacy upon leasing. Extremely dissapointing. They need HELP and property contracts with healthier living quarters, so they can better provide for their clients more efficiently and without their current limits/restrictions/and discrimination of histories handicaps races and eduacation levels.

Havent gotten any help really nice if I could, maybe start helping families with deposits to get a place .

Cant say enough about this place! Been a tremendous help to both my son and I. Helped my son get his high school equvilincy and is paying for him to further his education even more. The people here truly care about the people they are helping. Great asset to the community.

It took 2 weeks for me to lose patience and just go into the office rather than waiting for a phone call. They generally dont like dropins but it was worth it. I had an amazing conversation with a sweet lady who manages the clothes, and Mallory helped me out tremendously. It all takes time, knowing there are people who understand and care was really the boost i needed. Dont postpone, ask for HELP and you shall recieve..

Very good and helpful staff! This location is worth looking into for drastic needs; homeless, food vouchers etc. As of 1/22/19 no rental or utility assistance is not available I would call first for those two services.

They have food assistance, energy assistance, housing and employment services and that is just a few of the things they offer. The people who work there do care and want to help.

Help Of Las Vegas is AWESOME, We qualified for a Brand New Air-conditioning Unit, and They Blessed us with it, Thanks HELP.

They discriminated against me because I was disabled and did not have a Nevada Id. They wouldnt let me register for holiday help and made to get out of line after waiting two hours. If I knew how to file a federal complaint I would. The lady was extremely rude and didnt care. Poor customer service.

Helped me pay for tuition and textbook fees for a military medic to lpn program. I thought that was it but then I was pleasantly surprised when they kept in contact to help me with my nclex fees and job placement once I pass exam :) Programs like this one are definitely what I want my tax dollars going to.

Fantastic organization, if you are ever in need of supportive services they will point you in the right direction.
