They have no clue what they are doing. Owner is rude and hostile. They should be shut down! Complete waste of money! Don’t use this service!
Check yelp for more accurate reviews. As already posted Hawaiian Pools dont build anything. They operate as General Contractor, while hiring subcontractor for any physical work. Such procedure is regulated by NEVADA REVISED STATUTE (NAC) 624.I was getting bids from 3 pool companies and it was a painful process. I knew precisely what I want, but nobody could record the 6 measurements correctly. It was David from Hawaiian Pools who in front of my eyes created 3D pictures of my future pool and gave me good quote to match. But the man never come up with construction drawings and he was sending subcontractors with wrong sketches. Finally to correct his 4ht or 5th error, he charged me $650 for order change. The man has a problem! The job was going nicely at the beginning as excavating co and plumbers did very nice job.Electricians made some mess, but prepared the conduits for gunite. It was the shoddy Gunite Co, who send unqualified people on the job.Mike show up at the beginning of the job and I pointed to his attention that even that was said before, the Gunite leadman was getting ready to pour concrete over the mess electrician left in the excavation. Mike assured me that will be take care about, but 15 minutes later he left the jobsite and let the concrete to be poured over loose dirt. The gunite shell was done on training crew level. Everything was crocked, out of level, out of plumb and to top it the shell was 5 shallower than the specifications. When I called Hawaiian Pools to resolve the issue, David with other expert (who never gave his name) was distracting me, when Mike was walking around jobstie and stealing parts. The man has a problem!Their solution to fix the butchered gunite was putting lean on my house. It took litigation to show Hawaiian Pool violated about 15 points of Statue 624. In court negotiation I paid them part what they wanted and finished pool myself (I retired from construction, but never build a pool). That turn good as I was able to cut & grind about 1000 lb excess concrete from the shell, did nice marble tiles and was able to find plaster contractor for about 1/3 price that Hawaiian Pool was planning to charge me.At the end I think The family are modern con men. They will lure you into contract they have no intention to observe and when trouble come, they will hide under a rock while slamming you with bills they did not earn.
Michael Stitzinger created a beautiful contemporary patio spa and waterfall that simply popped as the stand alone focal point for my home.He and his staff were professional, responsive and mindful of my two little schnauzers whose curiosity at times challenged their work.Quality materials were used and importantly the job was completed on time and within budget. You cant go wrong with choosing Hawaiian Pools
I cannot tell you how much we have appreciated the wonderful customer service and professionalism you showed during the construction of our pool. You have made us happy and not only did we make the right decision to have a pool, but that we chose the BEST pool company to build it. The best part is that it took less than a month and a half to complete! Thank you so much for everything. I hope that we have the opportunity to tell many people, who are considering getting a pool, that they should call you, WE LOVE YOUR WORK!
I would say this is the worst experience with any company I have ever had. They will sell you on a vision of a smooth quick build within your time frame to get the job. However once the process starts there was delay after delay. Once you complain about the process taking too long or broken promises they will ignore you and the work will cease. There were weeks that they would not speak to me or my wife. The building of a pool is a significant expense and one that we did not take likely. We work hard for our money and want to be treated with respect and a little appreciation since we hired them for the job. This company will treat you like you are the problem. We still have issues outstanding that were promised to be fixed. They damaged our walls with the heavy equipment, stains by nails left in the pool from construction and an electrical issue with the wiring of specific equipment that is recommended to be on a dedicated circuit. When installing our fiberglass pool they cracked the top right hand step. They worked with the pool manufacturer initially, in the end the manufacturer of the pool (Aloha Pools) paid someone to come and repair since even they could not get a return call from these guys. There is no way I could or would recommend this company to anyone.
I would like to give a quick shout out to Mike and Hawaiian Pools. I had my pool installed 10 years ago not only that it was done in a professional manner and it was done on time I have never had any issues with my pool after it was completed . Just recently I had a maintenance issue with the pressure gauge there was a little part that broke that was plastic not only he took care of it for me for free he even gave me a whole new pressure gauge system for that at no cost and was very kind to me and I just like to thank Mike and Hawaiian Pools very much for what they did . I would recommend them to anybody at any time .
Rude owners I would not choose this company. There are plenty of other reputable pool companies out there. This company does not care about customer service.
Awesome experience with Hawaiian Pools, they did a beautiful job on our Pool and Spa. Could not be more pleased. Thank you Hawaiian Pools!
Slow with their work and there messy
We had to compare many pool builders but Dave, the owner, appeared to be more than just a contractor : he advised us on what type of pool would be the best for us, mostly because of our maintenance concerns. His team are clearly good pros, and the follow up has been serious.
This is the most negative heart wrenching unprofessional experience we have ever encountered. Mean spirited; uncaring; unsupervised subs at every juncture. The more we followed up the less we were acknowledged. Mike acted like we were doing him a favor. Never ever consider this company if you are expecting a wonderful professional experience.
After the job is done and there is an issue they dont return phone calls, texts or emails. When they finally do they say the only appointment they have open is 7:00 a.m. and someone must be there. You make arrangements to have someone there at 7:00 a.m. and then their people dont show, dont return a phone call or text. Then call you 3 hours and 15 minutes later to say they will be there. Then you try and get the paperwork for what they repaired and they still dont return a phone, text or email. Its amazing they can stay in business with service like this. They make sure to tell you if no one is there they will charge the owner $270.00 for a visit, yet they dont care about the others persons time who sits there for 45 minutes waiting for them to show up.
The owners David and Michael are very prompt at collecting your money but when you want to find out what and when the next steps are coming, they do not return calls. David hung up on me and Mike is just rude. They call themselves a family owned business and thats true (father and son) but they have NO employees. They falsify contracts and refuse to honor their mistakes. They subcontract everything out. Delay after delay with no communication. Find another pool builder.
Had a good experience with Hawaiian pools. they did a great job and the pool turned out very nice. the water fall they built was custom and would recommend them .
I am sure that the award of contracts to your company in the future is, without a doubt, guaranteed to continue due to your performance and diligent nature.
I hired this company because at the time (Sept 2014), they had no negative reviews or comments. They offered the lowest Estimate and offered more equipment. I live in a gated community/association. Rules are enforced.Bad experience, dont recommend. Promised 90 day completion in contract writing, took them 7.5 month to complete. Very hard to contact them. Bad customer service, not reliable, no supervision, no control. The worst warranty, (Not what I was told during estimate/console). only 3-5 year included for my Drains/plumbing under gunite. No Follow-up to see how everything is going after final walk thru/turn-over. Any equipment warranty must be submitted by the property owner. That was not explained in the beginning. But as experience has shown, it is better that you do the warranty yourself, that way you know it gets done. The owner (Mike) managed Hawaiian Pools and runs the construction end. of the company. At final walk thru, he didnt provide all required paper work (missing permit for wall extension). Had problems with county permits not being completed and place house in legal situation for improper work/permit procedures. Had to file a formal complaint with Nevada Contractors Board to ensure it would be completed.Owner/Construction department (Mike) kept loosing/ misplacing paperwork, equipment misplaced. Ordered wrong equipment. Failed to order all required equipment, adding to delay. Did not supervise subcontractor. Yard was mess. Work area was a mess. The owner had an excuse for everything, the pool construction delay held up other contractor jobs I had lined up. You have to stay on top of them. You never know when they would be back to do more work. I had the hardest time contacting them to find out the status and when they would be back to work. And when a problem was found with the quality of work, the owner would say, I dont see the problem, show me exactly what your talking about. When I pointed out one of the problems- the pavers on the steps falling apart(safety issue), his reply was, I think your making a big thing out of nothing. As a paying customer for a big ticket item. I expect better service and a professional attitude. The contract is confusing. In item included, it states cleaning equipment. I thought I was getting a pool vacuum, because I has handed brochures and told these are the items that came with the pool and the pool vacuum was part of the brochures provided. But in fact it was a pile of brochures on equipment and upgrade items that could be purchased. My misunderstanding. But nowhere in those brochures was I handed or recommended a blower. They didnt even mention a blower for the Spa. You would think that if you are getting a spa, a blower would be included. In the final walk through, it was mentioned that the blower was not included. But they had installed it already. They wanted to charge me another $600.00. That was a shock to me. But Dave worked out a solution to keep it installed.
Great price and a friendly staff
Dealing with Micheal has been a nightmare .. not a people person in any way .
Nice place
Total disaster
