Googled for a piano tuner and was impressed with Johns years of experience. I called him and he was able to come out and tune and repair my very old piano. His conversation was lively and enjoyable and although his political opinions differed from mine here and there, I found him respectful and professional throughout the visit. The repair services were affordable as expected, and I look forward to having him back next year for the suggested yearly service! At the end of the tuning, he tested out all the keys by singing an original song he wrote.. it was a great experience!

We hired John, and the first day, all was well. One of the keys he said he fixed broke again the very next day. We called him multiple times over the couse of several days and left a text message and after several more days, he has still never responded. Apparently we will not be getting what we paid for. Now we need to find someone else to come and fix the piano. You will be better off hiring someone else.

John did a terrific job.We spoke and he was able to come to do the tuning within three days of my call.His charge was very reasonable.My piano is a 136 year old Steinway grand. He was careful and thorough.When, a couple of weeks later, the piano seemed to fall a bit out of tune, I called him.He was here (once again) three days later, tuned it to A-440, lubricated everything, made sure the hammers all moved smoothly (no easy task where some of the keys are rarely played!) and spent real time inside ... and then said there was no charge for this second visit to make things right.A real stand up guy who does a great job! Highly recommend!!

I found John on Google in serious need of a tuning for my piano. First off, the person who gave him a one star rating must be reviewing someone else because John Niems is a master at tuning a piano! The bonus with John if you have the pleasure of engaging in conversation with him, hes one of the nicest and funniest people you will meet. I have had John Neims tune our pianos before but I just saw the other negative review saying he is anti-semitic and was concerned. I called him to verify and he does believe that book. He also told me Covid-19 is a hoax.

I was glad I called John over to tune up my 1911 grand piano. It sound fantastic now and we love it. My 7 year old son has been learning on it. Until we know for sure he likes piano, we don’t want to spend $$$$ on a new one yet for him. Before John, two other piano tuners had told me to just donate that piano because they thought the piano was too old and didn’t even want to try tuning it. Omg! John was highly recommended later and thus i called him and the third time was the charm. John came in and sat in front of our old piano and just worked on it till it was perfect. He pulled out all the keys mechanism and made sure they hit the strings correctly. He also fixed the foot pedal and dusted the inside. I guess, he got the job done. Would definitely use him again next year. Thank you John.

I found John on Google and called him because of all the great reviews he had. He certainly lives up to his good name! My piano is incredibly special to me, and I put a lot of hard work into refinishing it. John was very careful, and took his time to tune it correctly; checking everything I asked him to. He was also fun to talk to and didn’t mind that my dog was trying to be a personal assistant. His prices are also incredibly reasonable, and very well worth the money. ***Thank you John, it was a pleasure meeting you. You have a customer until you ever do decide to retire. :)

Glad I didnt let the 1 star Reviewer influence my decision on calling John! (Who leaves a 1 star and no reason why?! - Competitor maybe?)I called John after looking for a reasonably priced piano tuner all over Yelp and Google Reviews. I needed John to help me tune to the standard 440, after my last tuner set it to 441 without letting me know until the end. (If its standard tuning, why 441?! And why not ask first) Using an app, I saw it wasnt even a perfect 441, it was 441.5.John was extremely patient with me as I checked to make sure all the mid section notes were perfect. And since I have an old piano, the ends didnt sound tuned when set to perfect pitch. So Johns expertise was instrumental (no pun intended) to tuning the ends to sound glorious.Very happy, and highly recommend!

John is really awesome!He always sets and negotiates appointments as soon as possible, hes very reliable and answers any questions I have.He came in today on a Sunday and did an early morning tuning a half hour before the appointment time and went straight to work. When he was finished, the piano played better than when I first received it years ago. In fact, as he was playing and tuning it, I literally could feel the vibrations under my seat a foot away from the piano which was a new experience to me.Some of the strings on my piano broke and John is mailing them out and helping me get that fixed as well.If you need a piano fixed for anything, go ask John, hell definitely fix it up and itll feel new!

If there was an option to give 10 stars, John deserves it. Pleasant experience from start to finish. He had my classic Wurlitzer that has never been tuned since being in my possession over the last 6-7 years sounding brand new in a matter of time not much longer than an hour for a reasonable rate. Well worth the job!

I am a pianist and composer from UNLV. Recently, I was looking for a piano tuner after losing contact with my previous piano tuner. I am glad that i found john because hes done a great job tuning the piano today. I have seen many piano tuners carrying a electronic tuner device to tune pianos but they dont have the ability to listen to the real sound when a pitch is right on. I have never heard my piano been tuned this close to perfect.

John Niems has impressed me over the past 5 years with his expertise as a piano technician and tuner. He has repaired and tuned my 1977 Steinway grand, and my 1921 Davenport-Treacy upright; both of which arrived somewhat worse for wear after a midsummer move, through the desert heat, from New England to Nevada. (Incidentally, it was John who researched the manufacturing dates, via the serial numbers, of both pianos.)He recently replaced a string on the Steinway, and conscientiously returned a week later, free of charge, to pull it back up to pitch after it had, as expected, stretched a bit. He has also managed to tame a loose pin block on the grand, and glue together the action on the older upright, leaving both sounding better than ever.He has always been punctual, reliable, efficient and courteous. I recommend him highly.

Honest Wonderful Being!A very hilarious and positve human being. A great soul and honest guy that I will most certainly continue to hire him for all my piano tunings. Dont go with Bob, or Dugger or any other piano tuners. They either charge too much or just look at your piano as just another job. John is the one you want. He made my 1951 Story & Clark sound beautiful again. When I asked other tuners about the buzzing sound the A key made, they politely disregarded my question and ignored it. As soon as John heard the buzzing, he says, Im gonna find that and fix it. He took the underneath front panel off and investigated until he discovered what it was, and he fixed it!!! John is a throwback stand up guy that knows how to treat your piano and his customers.
