They work very hard with very few resources and fewer staff. Ive never met more caring people in my life. the ghetto staff have moved on and been replaced by wonderful caring people

This place is basically the poor mans Rehab. I was sent here by Spring Valley Medical Center. Westcare is for people who cant afford good insurance or have no insurance at all, nor the thousands of dollars it takes to be accepted in a legitimate fancy rehabilitation center, they must come here instead. I tried to admit myself for alcohol withdrawal, I also suffer from seizures and wasnt even there 24 hours before I was literally forcefully discharged. I tried to tell them I did not feel medically safe to leave. I told them I was in pain and feeling awful. All they gave me was Tylenol and pepto bismol. Are kidding me? They even sent me to the Emergency room which was a waste of time because the doctors and nurses made it very clear they do not admit people suffering from detox symptoms because they are not a detox facility., they are a hospital. There is a difference. Unless you are literally knocking on deaths door they dont like dealing with people with addiction issues. So basically. Westcare straight up gave me the run around. A few of the staff were actually nice but they refused to let me stay and properly detox. Not to mention, the thing that surprised me the most was there are no single rooms. Its just a bunch of beds in one huge room so you share that one room with 20 other strangers, (men separated from women). You get absolutely no privacy so its difficult to comfortably detox in my opinion. Anyways, Alcohol withdrawal can be fatal so I shouldve been allowed to stay for at least 72 hours and not being told I had to leave. I was still feeling terrible withdrawal symptoms when I left and was stuck in bed sick for days after. This place was of little help.

Worst place of choice everVery unprofessional, the front desk receptionist (overweight Caucasian lady) has the absolute worst customer service, lacks empathy, which is a necessity in healthcare period!! I am a medical student who was turned away before I could even make up my mind on weather I wanted to keep my schoolwork tablet locked up or give it to my wife, and in the midst of this, with the most obnoxious attitude, says you can just go and tells me don’t come back, If someone is going to a facility for help, you NEVER EVER treat them in such a manner. We as healthcare workers are trained in empathy and situations such asFor this complete disrespectful women to tell someone who is reaching out for helpYou can leave and don’t come back!? What kind of professionality is this? COMPLETELY ABSURD!! She deserves to be fired for the way she treated a patient looking for help

The staff at this place is HORRIBLE!!!!. I JUST LEFT HERE BECAUSE I WAS IN EXTREMEM PAIN AND NEEDED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL THEY DISCHARGED ME AND TOLD ME I WAS ON MY OWN. WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO THE HOSPITAL I HAD TO HAVE EMERGENCY SURGERY. IF ANYONE IS THINKING ABOUT DONATING TO THIS PLACE OR SEEKIN G TREATMENT HERE PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. THEY ARE PLAYING WITH PEOPLES LIVES AND ITS NOT RIGHT!

Thie detox COMMUNITY TRIAGE CENTER is very good! Call before to see if they have any beds open, if they do your good. If not keep calling sooner or later they will. Everything you need is here! Medication for detox, water left out in cafeteria 24/7 to keep hydrated and 3 meals a day. A daily group counseling session. Games, a tv in cafeteria if want, books and they supply personal stuff for grooming. Nurse station they provide what you need(each to there case) there is a outside area in the back if want fresh air, this is a good place! Dont abuse it being repeat 50x. Serious people getting off things come here to do just that! You must 100% with everything want to do this to succeed! You are not held hostage and can walk out, you WALK OUT YOU CANT COME BACK!.

I have found the WestCare out-patient clinic to be literally the most stable influence in my life. The staff is always the same. These people are dedicated to their jobs in overdrive, I believe and they genuinely care about each individual who comes through their doors. If you are referred here you have nothing to be scared of these people really will help you.

FOR DETOX SEE COMMUNITY TRIAGE CENTER. Good outpatient treatment options. Frequent administation and policy changes are my only issue.

I did not stay, but the counseling I got while I was there was very good. I have seen a lot of counselors in my life and this was one that actually helped me. I am grateful for the help they gave me. You could tell they cared. I felt I couldnt rate as excellent because I didnt stay in there for days.

They helped me stay clean and feel comfortable.

Staff dont care. westcare helped me but dilling with the staff was hell. besides the cook.

Ive been in this facility twice, it is a huge dump and some of the staff is completely clueless most of the time. Most of the staff are very nice people (even though theyre kind of clueless) but there are a few really rude people who cant be bothered with your questions . Food there is very good and they work with you if you have any kind of special diets (im a vegetarian and they were very cooperative in working with me and finding me something to eat). Meds are effective most of the time and helped me through my withdrawals nicely . They do not have very much medical equipment or nurses that know very much and if you get seriously sick theyll send you to the hospital which is alot better than doing things being clueless as ive had other detox facilities do . They did help me get my life straight as i attended meetings there and it helped but they also give you the choice to sleep all day which may not be helpful and as soon as they release you, you may relapse as i did first time . I would suggest a place that has more counselors or something because everything i asked there i was directed to ask my case worker who might i add is usually very busy and you only get to see one time . The case workers are very nice and understanding as long as you give them no trouble as most of the rest of the staff . While i was there i was very scared of other people spending time in the facility because i was threatened by the girl in the bed next to me and when mentioned to staff they did nothing . I was very confused because when i was discharged i was also dropped off in front of a mental facility ( i needed to get an ultrasound to check on my pregnancy which i had found out about through the facility ) i didnt know why they brought me there and the hospital wasnt able to help me and when i called westcare to ask questions as to why they brought me there they said they couldnt help because i was discharged and asking questions to the driver he told me we were going to get my ultrasound done and he didnt know anything else . Basically he left me with a trash bag of my things at the mental hospital and let me know not to contact them again because they wouldnt help .. he was right .. so i made my way back home . Overall even though there were a couple of issues here and there i still appreciate the place for making me aware of my pregnancy and also doing whatever they could to help even if it wasnt much . Most of them really do want the best for you and some were even addicts themselves and were in westcare at one point as i was told so they do their best to understand . I wish i had another chance to thank the few staff members who did help me clean up my act.!

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! They do NOT medically manage Detox. My family member was there for 24 hours when he called 911 which had him in the hospital for 6 days due to SEVERE Rhabdomylosis. They are NOT medical professionals. The facility itself is in one of the worst most gang ridden areas of town. It is also infested w/ roaches even in the winter! Filthy! Horrible! Do not go here!!!

This place three me out oh the duel diagnosis program because I was to unmanageable. No warning written or verbal, no behavioral contract no nothing, I was there for over 5 months, ran an honest program, followed all their rules and was tossed into the streets without so much as an explanation.

I went there for help and they turned me away the staff there are mean and dont care to make you feel welcome thw the cook is the only one that cares.
