I have been a customer of Renegade Hybrids for about 12 years, although I have been aware of them for over 30. My car is a ’72 914 with the SBC conversion. The car was built by Renegade, and since I live in Las Vegas, I have always had them do the service. To this day, I am still amazed at the quality of the conversion. To the untrained eye, it would appear that the car is stock and came straight from the factory this way.I owned a stock 914 back when I was in high school and I loved it. But, it’s a completely different world driving a Renegade Hybrid. This car is so much fun to drive, and is incredibly Fast!Scott, the owner of Renegade, and his team are absolute professionals to deal with. Their shop is fantastic, and there are always several amazing builds in progress. I would suggest to anyone visiting Las Vegas to stop by and take a look. They add to the pleasure of owning and driving such an incredible machine.

Been a long time Renegade customer having converted 2 cars at home with their quality and complete DIY conversion kits. Although the kits arrive in a box with little direction, the average shade tree mechanic can piece these together without trouble. Whenever crossing a road block in the build, Renegade has amazing technical support over the phone and customers are treated as if they have a dedicated line to the Renegade staff to assist you in problem solving. This is not an easy task as many P cars have been modified, for better and worse, over the decades.Renegade components have proven for years of use to be reliable. The performance is incredible! The horsepower gains go without saying, and handling is NOT compromised! Never have I ever wished of having the old factory power plants back in the cars. My favorite thing to do is take an old Porsche to a track day where everyone looks at the car and wonders why I have even bothered coming out, and then turn around and embarrassed their late model cars.I can’t wait to start my next V8 conversion!

As a naive first-timer who wanted to swap my Porsche, I bought the complete Renegade kit. I was shocked when I received the parts that I paid BIG MONEY for........none of it was their own stuff! It was a kit that was pieced together from different manufacturers and marked up immensely. For example: The water pump kit was nothing more than a Napa brand water pump (retail less than $200) and some aluminum spacers, and they charged nearly $1600 for that! Left a sour taste in my mouth.Before anyone makes the move on doing this swap, I encourage you to visit the Facebook page Swapped Porsche and get prices and info from others doing good work on these cars.

I was looking for a 914 to convert, Renegade located a car for me and did the conversion to an LS 410hp V8. They added ac, heater flared fenders, paint etc. The build was beautful and they stood behind everything they did. The owner and the guys in the shop ended up great friends. By the way the car Wolf goes like a bat out of hell.8

Been a returnig customer for 4 years now. Have done a 986 boxster, 996 carrera street car and 996 carrera 4S race car conversions. Most of the transactions and customer service was made over the phone and all I can say is WOW! The guys at the shop are always ready to help for the installation. Each time I had a question, quick or complicated, they always took the time to help me. Went a couple of times at the shop and saw some awesome clean work and installations. Couldnt be more happy with the cars, each of them put a smile on my face each time I touch the gas pedal, the conversion kits were user-friendly, good quality, and the after sale service is wonderful. I was ready to drop $$ on a swap. However, after calling to get information on the kit. I was disgusted in how I was treated. It left such a bad taste in my mouth, I built my car from scratch. Sure I over paid on all the custom one off machined parts merely a piece of Al drilled for the correct bolt patterns, and machined relief for the corvette slave cly., but that fact that I was blown off, and told Youre not worth my time is why I am writing this review....I may not worth your time, but certainly you are not deserving of my cash!As for the comment below on the 928 parts. They are all off the shelf parts that you pick up at your local auto parts house. You can even find CAD drawings of everything online that ANY machine shop can run through a CNC.
