I have been going to Sun Auto Service (W. Tropicana) for years. I am always extremely satisfied with the work done on my vehicles. I have recommended this Auto Service to my friends and family and they are always very happy with the work done on their vehicles. The employees at this Sun Auto are honest, respectful and I most appreciate their integrity. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate having a reliable mechanic in Las Vegas. Outstanding service. My Toyota Highlander broke the alternator while me and my wife were in Vegas. They took the car at 7 in the morning and by 11 am the car was done. These guys are amazing. Very good job. They got me my wife and kids back on the road. To head to California.

I’ve left 1 star review before and then deleted it because I thought we found a way to resolve an issue we had. Now I have to leave a new one again. By this shop mistake I had to tow my car twice and sun auto offered me a reimbursement for 1st towing which was an amazing deal. They told me to come to the store to pick up the money but when I came guy had 0 clue and asking for towing invoice when rep over the phone knew I don’t have any and he called towing company himself to verify the amount but now they need invoice otherwise it couldn’t be helped. why tell me to come then?. I’m leaving Las Vegas today forever and I have no way to come back again to try to figure out how to pick up my money. Such a waste of time and nerves

The folks there (especially Richard and Troy) are professional and helpful. They installed my brakes and completed an oil change per my very specific instructions. They did have trouble with the brake fluid flush (air in the lines then in the ABS unit), but they worked very hard to resolve the problem. When I came back to get the flush done again correctly, they went out of their way and put a lot of time into doing so. The only 4-star aspect of their service to me, as an enthusiast, was that they use generic brake fluid which is below high-performance specs for my car. However, this is *not* a problem for the average car owner looking for a good auto shop, so I have rated them 5 stars.For reference: I am a Local Guide with reviews totaling over 20,000 views. I am an auto enthusiast who knows his car well and has made modifications to it, but I dont have the time to perform my own maintenance anymore. I have struggled in the past to find a solid auto shop which offers quality work at a good price and does not try to take advantage of the customer by upselling unnecessarily. I recommend Sun Auto, and I will return to them with future maintenance needs.This is a busy shop (a good sign), so it is a good idea to come in early or call them in advance. This is a quality, trustworthy, and cost-effective place to do regular maintenance on your car!

A big thank you to Shane and the guys at Sun Auto. I took my expedition in for a alternator replacement. I supplied my own part. Quickly after droping off the truck and part. Shane the Manager called me to let me know I was given a part that was not for my intended repair. He went out his way to contact the vendor and had them deliver the correct part. In doing that not only did they confirm the part was totally wrong and not the right part to be supplied. I received money back due to the part I needed not being the same price. My truck was in and out and when I arrived to pick up the vehicle The manager Shane handed me my change from the price difference from the vendor. The manager also made my first initial contact over the phone in regards to the repair very pleasant, his knowledge plus his customer service was top notch, not even knowing if I would come in or not. I have one other issue to repair and Shane gave me the best advice to get the truck diagnosed first before I throw parts at it or money not needed. Dont hesitate just go!!!!!!! They will take great care of you, a service you can trust!! By the way Im currently on a 600 mile road trip and the truck is running great! Yeah 5 stars is a no brainer! I walked in & was there for 40 minutes for an oil change & tire rotation. They were professional & friendly. The price was what I was told & nothing added on or tried to upset me anything.

Overall good experience with the folks at Sun Auto, Tropicana/Ft. Apache location, and would recommend. Had 4 new wheels installed on a 97 Ford Expedition and needed a wheel alignment. Made the appointment for 12pm and intended to wait there until the job was complete, but it looked like they were running a bit behind so thankfully I was walking distance to my house. The alignment was completed at 1:30 and I had no complaints with the test drive. The truck drove nice and straight.As you can tell, overall positive experience. I will just mention 1 thing I would have liked to receive with my Receipt/Final paperwork, and that is a Hunter Printout that gives you every wheels measurements. For me, it gives an extra level of reassurance that an alignment was actually performed and Im not just throwing away my money, which unfortunately happens with a lot of mechanic shops. Not receiving the Hunter Printout was not a big deal at all since the test drive confirmed they adjusted the measurements.

Ryan is incredible. The entire staff was a joy to have around. I did not doubt their ability for one minute. These guys were honest and upfront the entire time. There have been times when I did not have the full payment available so they let me post date a check and still let me have my vehicle. They give me options speaking to me as if they were in my shoes. I have never had a bad experience with these guys. I trust them with all my familys vehicles.

The whole process from setting an appointment to the work done on my vehicle couldnt have gone any better. Keith went above and beyond for my vehicle and it now runs great with no problems. 100% recommend.

Had a problem with my dealers service shop replacing a part. Called Sun Auto on a recommendation and they had the part going in my car the next morning, took 2 hours for a new part and oil change, out quick and the price was great! Super professional front office Shane the store manager took care of everything for me and was super friendly. Definitely going to be taking my car in here from now on!

If I can give a lower score I would. Chris the unprofessional upfront kept trying to beat around the bush when I asked why a simple serp belt change cost 230 dollars when originally I came in for a 33 dollar oil change. This place will rip you off if you let them . Google serp belt for Nissan versa its 44 dollars so for 5 min of labor they ate charging over 100 l. Do yourself a favor an take your car to a shop that actually cares about its clients

Ive been back in town for a while and was looking for a good mechanic! I actually came to this shop about a month ago but I wanted to leave a review because they were so very helpful.. I went here to find out about getting my door handles put back on my sonata but I ran out of time. They came up with a reasonable solution and were very friendly and understanding and honest! I have a new car now and will definitely be going to them for this new car I have! I highly recommend them!

Apprehension settles in your gut whenever you have to take your car to the shop. Especially when they start speaking in terms that you dont understand. The guys at Sun Auto are the exception. Either they wanted to charge me over $60 for a full synthetic oil change (looking at you jiffy), were completely full (early on a Monday....), or were a mix of both.Needless to say, I was tired, I was cranky, and I was hungry. Now once I found this shop, with its snazzy red letters over the distance, I figured What the Hell, why not?. I had originally brought my own oil and filter from home, so I just needed the service done. After explaining what I needed, it was only $20 (technically $23 after tax and oil waste fees).Overall I was completely satisfied, and was out in 30 minutes (when was the last time YOU left a shop in 30 mins after an oil change? Thought so.....). I will be returning here if I ever need another change in oil, and will even recommend them to my gram gram :3

Previous shops Ive been to would recommend ridiculously expensive services and maintenance, or they would try to bait and switch me. But alas, after researching on both google and yelp I decided to try Sun Auto Service, and Im glad I did.My oil change appointment was at 11AM. I got in early at 10:40AM, they took my car in right away. I sat in the waiting room thinking I would have ample time to go through my emails. Boy was I wrong, by 11:01AM my car was ready for me to take home.Recap:-On-time oil change appointments.-21 minutes to get the oil change done.-Affordable price, $24.68 out the door using the online coupon.-Super friendly customer service.-Did NOT try and up sale for more expensive unneeded services.

Moved in town a few months ago Got my first Oil change here and now I need a new engine.P.S. I am a very kind person to my car so it’s always updated on maintenance. Engine damage from lack of oil shouldn’t have been an issue considering I got my oil changed at 104,000 miles and came back at 106,000 for an oil change to be told my engine is tarnished

Sun Auto went above and beyond to keep my automobile going strong. I went in for a routine oil change, and mentioned that my check engine light had been periodically showing up over the past few days. They did the oil change in no time flat, and Vinnie called me to report the cause of the check engine light. I never felt strong-armed into making the recommended repair, and I appreciate Vinnie for giving me a call before doing any work. Long story short, my car is good to go, and I have the awesome folks at Sun Auto to thank. Yall are the best!

Went in for a brake pad/rotor replacement on all (4) corners for my 2016 Camaro SS. They were able to get me in right away and the job was finished extremely quick. They charged me $700 less than what I was quoted for at the Chevy dealership. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for Brake service. They were extremely professional also! I will definitely come back again.

Total scam... The quote..$1600 to replace the starter on a Sequoia 6hr job. Another couple $$$ thousand to replace a good condition serpentine belt, leaking water pump, to flush burnt brake fluid and steering fluid . Called Toyota, quoted me $1300 on the starter and could do it quicker with dealership parts. Cost of multiple tow trucks and starter repair was still $700 cheaper.

These guys are trustworthy and where really friendly and informative. We used them almost the entire time we lived in LV, and they took great care of our vehicle. At one point Id gone for an oil change closer to our place in Summerlin and was told by a mechanic that our brake pads where done for. I had a weird feeling he was lying! When I brought the car into Sun the mechanic there informed and showed me the pads still had about 40% life to them. From then on we never went anyplace else.

This is my second time coming here and the staff is always so nice and welcoming. They went out of their way to look at problems that I did not initially come in for. The prices are also very reasonable for the budget of a college student like myself! I will always recommend Sun Auto Service to anyone looking for good car repairs! :)

When I came in Devin was helping the customer in front of me. He was clearly explaining the product, procedures and warranties. I could tell it was a well run, professional shop. Ive always gone to big business names for my car maintenance and always spent more than I should. Sun auto is truly a fair price and completely honest car shop. The guys there are extremely helpful and go above and beyond. Myself being a woman they take theyre time to make sure I understand what is going on and give me the best advice. Most car shops always find a problem and make you feel pressured to spend more than you should. I always leave a happy customer. They most certainly have my business.

I always heard they were great with customer service but wow! Quoted at least 100+ for my c300 Mercedes to change low beam headlight, they found a quick way without removing the bumper and replaced the bulb for FREE!!!! All they asked us to do is spread the word. Devin is a rockstar and the Heroes in the back worked quick.. Go see these people! Hard to find a garage with this much integrity!

I started coming to this location as they work with my auto warranty. I have since moved across town and can go to any Sun Auto location but I choose to keep coming here. The staff here is always polite, honest, and eager to help. I have never felt raked over the coals as I have with other auto repair facilities. I would highly recommend Sun Auto Service on west Tropicana and Fort Apache to any one.

These people are dishonest. I just had a change oil and they insisted to flush my brakes as there was a leak. I lamented that there wasnt spill on my parking spot. But because I usually trust people. I over payed $120.00 for the change brake fluid on top of the change oil of $19.99. Then I complained today that theres a back job on the oil drain plug as its dripping on my garage floor. And they evaluated that my power steering needs to be replaced for a 1000. It did gives me a red light that this guys are liars as the color of the oil was brown not pink which then I went to Honda where they said the color doesnt correlate to the Sun employees false diagnosis. They will intentionally loosen your oil drain plug on purpose. Thus beware on this shop. Theyre crooks.

I discover this place when I moved to this part of a town and its been more then 7 years I didnt use any other car mechanics. Devin, Shawn and Rick are very helpful, honest, fast, friendly and proffesional. They will save you the most money they can, not overcharged like many other places. I am always very happy and pleased with their service.

Great service & integrity! After going through hell with my Buick Enclaves electrical system shutting down multiple times while I was driving, the dealer insisted there was nothing wrong with my car and said it wasnt a safety concern. Not true. I was referred to Sun Auto and I cannot express my gratitude enough. They discovered the problem, and did a wonderful job fixing it. I would never go anywhere else. Theyre honest, good people dedicated to providing the best customer service. Their dedication to resolving this major safety problem was incredible.

Came in for a simple thermostat replacement I could easily do myself. Quoted double the labor time because I was told they had to take the front fender off, which is total BS. 2 possibilities here, either they figured I had no idea what was involved and trying to screw me or they actually had no idea how to replace the thermostat. Either way, I left and took it to another shop and paid half.If it sounds fishy, get a second opinion.

Listen, heres what I know: work with Shawn at Sun Auto on Tropicana and you cannot go wrong. He is the most honest mechanic Ive met in Vegas. In fact, if Shawn were to move to another auto company, I would follow. Hes that terrific. Hes worked on three of our cars for years now and, even when the mechanics at Sun Auto have screwed something up (its happened twice in the eight years weve gone there), he ensures its taken care of right away - at no cost and with a car rental, if necessary. Mistakes happen...whats most essential is how the company handles them. I can say that with Shawn, I know I am going to get the most honest answer, and the best customer service. Worth its weight in gold, especially in this city!

I agree with the complaints people had. I wish I had a better experience as did the other people. It’s a shame that I had to experience derogatory conversations front office people had in regards to their customers. It seems they emphasize on leaks which is a trigger word. Giving emphasis on how customers decline a certain service and making them feel stupid for not accepting. It’s the right of the customer to refuse certain services . That they doubt the words the customers says making fun of their ignorance I just feel bad to those that enter their shop not knowing this how they behave.

Summary: They cost me $20 and an hour of my life.Called in to see if they could do a fast job on a sedan. Morning timeframe, early (9 ish).Was told they could order the part same day. Drove over later that afternoon (1) dropped the car. They had me scheduled for an oil change for some reason. Caught that, explained why I was there. Dropped the car. Called rideshare to head home.They call me back in 15 minutes. They dont have the part and cant get it until tomorrow. They offer to do it tomorrow and quote the price at around $250. Its a $30 part and a one hour job.They have good feedback so I guess I caught them on a bad day, but Im not sure how they came up with that price. Shop around before you come here, you can probably find better labor prices elsewhere.

Sun auto is awesome the workers are very helpfull and very knowledgeable. When my daughter needed her oil changed they squeezed her in and got her oil done within an hour! I give them 5 stars!

It takes a lot for me to go to the effort to post a detailed review, but Sun Auto Service has so consistently exceeded my expectations that I would feel guilty not doing so. I have taken all my family vehicles there over the past few years for issues from minor to more involved and they have quickly fixed and fairly charged (usually well below what I expect). Absolutely no shady upselling or pressuring like Ive experienced at car places in years past. On some occasions, like my daughters hood not closing right or a bulb issue, theyve simply fixed it right there as a courtesy. They have excellent communication and have given me courtesy rides back home when needed. A completely honest and fairly priced car place is something I wasnt sure existed, but they have delivered the best guest service I have ever experienced for anything, whether auto related or not. I trust them 100% and will always take my vehicles there.

Shawn at Sun Auto Service was most helpful on Saturday when I took my car in for radiator repair work. He also helped my friend Lisa who needed help with car and the check engine light. Thank you for your help and honesty. I would recommend highly recommend this shop.

My son (18) - took his BMW in for a oil change, took his own filter and oil they changed it, that same day on his way to work the oil was dripping on ground. When he had time, he went back and they told him its the upper oil pan and quoted a high price of$300. Now I think its odd that his pan is broke after he gets oil changed...

I have had three different vehicles service by Sun Auto over the last 4 years and cannot begin to say enough good things about my experience with the gentlemen at the W. Tropicana location. Always received great service at what I feel is a fair price.

Essentially tried to scam my girlfriend and I. We were visiting from out of state and our car broke down on the side of the road leaking coolant everywhere. First off, we were quoted numerous different prices for the tow, ranging from $40 to nearly $100. This is all from the same company, mind you. When we got dropped off at the shop, the tow truck driver said it would be $75, even though he quoted $60 earlier. I initially thought that the water pump was at fault, but apparently the thermostat housing was. The owner called me and quoted nearly $700 to replace a $60 part that is held in with 4 bolts. To replace this takes less than an hour for sure... Even with leak down testing, etc. there is no reason this should be $700. I was half-asleep at the time and just said “ok, that’ll be fine”. I initially came to my senses and called him back, saying that the repair is too much and I’d rather have him put the car back together to allow me to do the repair instead. He seemed flustered, and asked if that’s what I really wanted. Then he pulled some random number out for the diagnosis... $200, excluding the tow. He wanted to charge me $200 for essentially touching the car. Then, magically, he said that there was a “footnote” that said I could save a few hundred dollars in labor. After complaining, he said he could do the repair for $430, tax included. Isn’t it crazy how much the price dropped after he discovered this “footnote”? Anyways, I opted for the reduced price, since I was tired of getting Ubers all around town. When I went to pick up the car, the $430 he quoted was finally accurate. Interestingly, for the tow, it said $60, instead of the “$75” the tow truck driver randomly threw out. When I went to see the car, there was dried coolant all over the side of the rear window that they couldn’t be bothered to clean up. Also, the owner said that I “shouldn’t drive it too far because it’s still leaking”. I ended up driving it 1,000 miles back home with no leaks whatsoever... interesting, huh? As far as the quality of the work, it seems to be fine. It’s just that their business practices are really shady. I’d stay away!

I have been taking my cars to Sun for about 8 years. They are so friendly and the service is great and fast. It is refreshing to find a company that really cares about its customers. I will always go to them as long as I am in Vegas.Thank you Sun.

Been to two Sun Autos great customer service.

Very very bad experience this place.my husband bring our car to just fix the window just one window they charge him almost $200 what the heck 😠 not only that their not honest you ask them how much for labor they say it depend until you up on the front to pay they say $300 for the labor. unbelievable just one Window glass to fix. I really really dont recommend this place to anyone.

Ive owned my car since 2007 and ALL of my automotive work has been done by Shawn at Sun Auto. I wont take it anywhere else. My vehicle now has 140k miles on it and its still running wonderfully. I highly recommend their service. I wont trust anyone else with my car.
