I read some of the other reviews before going and I was a little anxious, but my fears were absolutely unfounded. Carolyn was extremely pleasant and she did a great job on my little boys hair, no questions asked. I dont know if someone has a beef with her and is trying to bring her business down or what, but I will never take my guy any place else. She was great! Thanks Carolyn!

Fast, courteous, thorough & cheap! Very nice ladies.

Nice enough lady but she did not do a very good job.Haircut took less than 5 minutes. She buzzed the sides and back. Those areas look fine. However, she used scissors on the top and cut it all different lengths. Its like she pulled up the hair with the comb, made a cut and moved to another random area on my head and repeated at different lengths. Literally the most random cut I ever received in my 46 years. I will not be a repeat customer.

Caroline,You have been cutting my hair for over 5 years.It only takes you about 3 minutes because I dont have much but like to stay somewhat professional looking.I was worried about you when I pulled up and you were sitting on the porch and hollered at me that you werent doing cuts today, even though your sign was on and your door was open.Last cut when you opened after restrictions were lifted, I gave you $20 for 2 minutes work.I walked in after petting the dog on the porch because i wanted to make sure you were OK and I didnt think you were serious and instead you yelled at me that you werent going to cut my hair because you had a lot going on and werent in the mood (whatever that means)I always gave you the benefit of the doubt when you would complain about customers but you really showed me your real personality that I hadnt believed when I heard it from others, today.Not the Good Christian you had me believing you to be.Rudest I have been treated as a customer in forever and youve lost a customer. Actually 4 because I wont be bringing my Son, my Wife wont be bringing her son and my wifes Dad wont be coming in anymore either.I hope you find whatever it is you are looking for and can be nicer to those that have been loyal customers from here on out.I used to look forward to stopping in. The first time I ever came to get my sons hair cut I loved it. His experience was comforting and fun. Alex gave me exactly what I had asked for. The other girl did great also so it didnt matter who took him. So I keep coming and enjoyed every haircut aince. Then the hours changed to where I couldnt get my sons haircut after school when he needed it. That was a bit of a bummer and hoped they would change soon. Now when u went back I seen and was told they no longer do boys haircuts I need some confirmation on that. Also why??

My dad and I always stop in when we’re in Lapeer, use to love this place. Never again. My dad was first, he wasn’t asked what he wanted. She shave his side to his scalp. I told her to scissor mine, yet she didNot blend it in. What a sorry hair cut. Your in and out in 5 minutes and 1 women working. I guess it’s great as long you don’t care.

I took my grandson here 2 years ago and couldnt believe the quality of the haircut. The lady made him look like Frankenstein with the completely flat haircut. The sides and bangs were completely uneven and there were random chunks of hair not cut off. I came back a few months ago after Id heard they got new stylists. The haircut was very good and I wanted to come back, but when I walked in with my grandson I was told that children are not welcome in the establishment. They gave no reason as to why they suddenly stopped cutting kids hair and they had no signs hanging up telling me so. On the contrary, they had a sign hanging up saying that they cut boys hair. Ive seen some reviews on her and responses from the owner. She seems very unprofessional and rude calling people crazy and freaks. She also acts like she is going through a midlife crisis as she uses phrases like bye Felicia and lol. Ill bet shes the coolest person at smokers palace. She also says she doesnt need the business, yet she raised the price by 2 dollars. She calls people cheapskates and says its not a lot of money, yet she had to change the sign for two extra dollars. Yeah sure, were the cheapskates. We might be making you famous with our reviews, but not the good kind.

As we walked up the rude owner ran outside like a phyco and screamed were booked. When she didnt have one coustomer in her parking lot. I told her she should have a sign up and all she could do was look dumb and walk back in. I just needed my sons haircut. Unprofessional i wont be back. Shes rude

The owner took a vacation Christmas week. Thats fine but needed to have someone fill in instead of having only one person working. An hour wait is a little extreme.

I stopped by 7 dollar haircuts cause my usual barber was closed. One of my co-workers was getting a haircut and his always looked good so I knew I was at a good place. I got a great haircut that didnt need fixing and the ladies there were very friendly. What more do you need? Great place!

7 dollars...! In 5 minutes! Most of the time I get a pretty good haircut, depending on who cuts it that day. Cant complain, like they say, the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about 5 days.

A decent place for a very fast, no frills haircut. Tell them what you want and they do a good job delivering it.

Unfortunately I took my son here for his first hair cut after they had told me they do children haircuts and wouldn’t make it a bad experience... that was a lie. The lady was rude then instead of showing my son what she was doing or trying at all to make him comfortable before starting, she rushed through the hair cut missing chucks of hair. (I understand not taking her time with an upset child but that could’ve been avoided). The next day we got his hair fixed, showed him the clippers. Let him feel them vibrate and he was perfecting fine.... I’m sure they do fine adult cuts but I wouldn’t take a child there.

After waiting about ten minutes, I was rudely informed by the dark hair lady that she will not cut womens hair unless it was just with the clippers. Then she pointed to the other lady there and said, She wont either. So, why was I not told this before wasting ten minutes? And why is this place named 5.00 hair cuts but it is not mentioned anywhere that it is men cuts or clippers cuts only. I would not give a single star. There was no need to be rude and if that is what you are now doing, post it and change the name of the place! Men only. Clippers only. Just dont bother, go somewhere else. After reading your response,I should have known you would lie to cover your self. I am not now nor ever have been a problem customer. I have not been coming in for a couple of years. I have been in a few times at most and have always said It will grow back, dont worry about getting too short or whatever, I am not fussy. Resorting to calling names is rather childish. Or post it on your door if you are too cheap to correct your sign. Or perhaps, you can discuss it with anyone who comes in NICELY. You do not offer hair cuts for 5.00. You want the money but dont want to work for it. I had no clue you were no longer cutting hair. Clearly, you are the problem and falsely advertising something you dont do. If you change your sign, then you dont need to worry about relying your faulty memory and try to remember who you told or did not tell. Own it. You were and are the problem. You dont have to talk like that to people.And it was a hair cut, not a make over. Jeez. I have short hair and only wanted it shorter.

Walked in last night with 2 boys 1 car in the parking lot to be told they were to busy and could not do there cuts, i kinda laughed and said are you kidding me, and was told by the rude owner NOPE. i said oookkk and walked out . My husband and son came home telling me about the rudeness of the owner towards them for no reason. I was next to him while he wrote her a bad review, and read her reply calling him a child abuser and a freak. I dont know where this lady comes off thinking she knows him, but just for her information my husband isnt even able to be with his children. Hes too busy defending our freedom down in KY. In all the time weve been married weve only been able to spend 10 months worth of time together because of his deployments. His 3 year old daughter hasnt even been around him for a half a years worth of time because hes been stationed out of state, stationed in Korea, and deployed to Iraq. How a person can be a freak and a child abuser when they spend no time around children I dont know. But lovely that you can discriminate based on a shirt hes wearing. Guess if you want to have your haircut done here then you better not be wearing a pizza shirt or youll get verbally attacked in front of your toddler and slander written about on you based on your clothing options.

Usually a very short wait if any and Ive been extremely satisfied with the results nearly every visit as well. My family and I have been continuous patrons for years here.

If i could i would rate this negative 5 stars. The owner is crazy and looks like a sis from wrong turn 3 and my hair cut looks like a toddler had the buzzers. Wont go here again ill go to benny and the jets in imlay for now on. They are friendly and do a great job with cutting. They fixed what this place did to my hair.

Giving a three star because Ive had good experiences in the past with each stylist. this time was bad tho the stylist seemed like she was in a rush and cut way too short i said 1 inch they cut about 1/4 inch . cut so quickly it pulled bad. but other times I went i had a awesome hair cut! I will probably be back i just hope they arent trying to be that quick again.

It’s where he prefers to go, I don’t care what I pay for his haircut as long as he’s happy, He looks forward to his haircut and your employees do an amazing job and are very friendly.

0 stars isn’t an option, so I give it a solid 1 and that’s still to high. I have NEVER stepped foot in this business just to be clear, although I pass it daily to and from work. I have seen several “shares” on social media about this place and felt the need to comment. First and foremost, the manager/owner is a degrading, rude, unintelligent, unmotivated, unprofessional, piece of trash at best who has NO business running a functional business. In fact, I am unsure of how this place is even open...false advertising, promoting competitor businesses, derogatory responses to legitimate customer complaints, etc. I am certain that this place won’t be open long and if the service is any representation of who runs it, I’d stay far far away. An absolute shame for any reputable employee who may actually provide a decent service there. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I always go to them first. They have great service and incredible cost. They are fast but do a great job. But Im a guy so what can you expect when you just get a high and tight.

Shows online that they are open until 8, so we got there about 5 minutes til 7. We were told they had just closed. I asked if they could just do a quick cut on my Godson (his cut takes maybe 5 minutes) as he has school pictures tomorrow and they are advertised as staying open until 8 and was told no, it would be just one quick one after another.

Better off going 20 minutes away to Imlay, Benny and the Jets has much better service and the owner isnt crazy.

Owner is down right rude to customers. If you only do buzz cuts maybe you should specifiy that when people have been waiting a half an hour. All iIwanted was for him to have a 0 on the sides and a hard part, didnt even want the top cut, just blended in. The owner is very very rude and disrespectful! We went to the other 7 dollar place 15 mins down the road and they were amazing with my son. They took their time, explained things to him, kept engaging him the whole haircut, its the girl right when you walk in, with the red red hair. Its called Benny and the Jets, they are also 7 dollars for EVERYONE, men, women and children no matter what style of cut you are getting. Take the extra 15 minutes and do yourself a favor and go to Bennys. They are not affiliated with that 7 dollar salon in Lapeer.

Every time my boyfriend has went to this not so fine establishment it looks like a 3 year old took school scissors to his hair ( like I did on my barbies at a young age ) he says “ oh well guess it will grow back “ the haircut place in Imlay gives better service and better hair cuts.

I have been going here for years and I like the place alot. The younger girl with red hair is great. Today she cut my hair and I love the way it turned out as usual. But my son is 10 and another lady there messed his hair up pretty bad today. I am pretty upset about it . Its 2 days before Christmas and I said a 3 on top 2 on sides and bangs .She gave him a 2 on his whole head no bangs and a buzz cut... Be careful and ask for the owner or the red head thats in her 20s. I believe her name is Brittany.

Been coming here for years with all my boys. The last few times havent been good experiences and have made it so I wont be going back. Only reason I gave the 3 stars is for what it used to be.

The woman that owns this is rude as hell. We sat inside with 3 other people and had to wait while the one stylist did hair and she sat out on the porch and played with her phone. Then when someone she knew came in she took them right away cut their hair and when they were done and left she went back to her phone. She fired all the stylists and expects one person to do all the work in there. Place looks horrible like they started remodeling and got half way thru and stopped. Will never go back there.

It was a great place until I was just informed that they fired one of their best hairdressers over text while said person was on vacation. Unprofessional and I will not be going back.

My uncle stopped in to get a haircut yesterday who is Hispanic and hairstylist Caroline told him she does not cut “ his hair” so he waited over 35 minutes for someone else to cut his hair after Caroline took other people who came in after him. Very rude and unprofessional. I didn’t know you had to have a certain type of hair to get a haircut. Bad for business!
