I was traveling home to Lowell, Michigan from NYC when my 2015 Ford Explorer broke down on I-96 in Lansing, Michigan.I had 3 of 5 wheel studs shear off on my front passenger wheel on the highway.I had the truck towed to ODonnells for an estimate of repair for my wheel.I was happy with how quickly they were able to look over my truck to give me a price estimate.Robert was very knowledgeable & helpful by telling me everything I needed to know as to why my studs may have broken, how to fix the problem, and a lot of information about part quality. I appreciate him taking the time to speak with me on the phone and going over my options. I truly feel like Robert wants to help people and do quality work.Although, I didnt end up having ODonnells complete the work on my truck (because the warranty at the dealership I purchased the truck from covered the repairs), I would definitely recommend bringing a vehicle here for repair. With the thoroughness of the diagnostic quote and the recommendations, I believe this business wants to help people get their vehicle back on the road quickly and safely.

I have been taking my vehicles to ODonnells more many years. They have always been extremely professional, giving me options for repairs and being very up-front. I recently got a new vehicle that has a warranty, and when that vehicle needed repairs, Robert haggled back and forth with my warranty company on my behalf for weeks! Aside from having great business practices, they also have excellent people skills and put in extra time and effort for customer satisfaction.

They explained everything that needed to be done and why, got car fixed super quickly, and charged a reasonable price. They also answered some general questions that were completely unrelated to my car.

First time working with Robert and his team, and it was such a great experience. They were able to start work on my car right away, the day before a holiday. Robert was up-front and communicative about the repairs I needed, and answered all my questions to make sure I understood what was going on. I appreciate how he took the time to explain things to me without making me feel bad about needing more details. I only made an appointment with Jeff, who was working this Saturday 09-24-2016 for Monday 09-26-2016 to replace rear brake pads.I just wanted to know a price, he was working on a car but came out right away to greet me. So far so good I thought not waiting to long,he gave me several options, for the pads alone or with replacement with the rotors, Me asking him why, he really explained what the reason is and benefit of doing both. he gave me 4 options the lesser quality pads and rotors or the life time warranty ones, since the price difference for me did not matter so much I went with the better option, so I am really looking forward this Monday how the repair will go,and I also included a oil change since they are very reasonable with that price. including the Lucas oil stabilizer that Jeff explained as well,for the benefits. More review about this job to follow, but so far so good.Monday has come and 8:30 sharp I walked in at ODonnells, got greeted by Jeff again no waiting he came right away out of the workplace. He started to make a worksheet let me sign it and gave me a 2 hour window that the job would be done, I will tell you what the job is that had to be done, I needed my rear brake pads to be replaced and the rotors after Jeff told me that it would be wise to replace them also. I implemented right away an oil-change. Jeff did exactly what was agreed about and showed me the old pads and rotor, besides the maintenance repairs Jeff also checked out the whole car suspension, topped of all the fluids if needed and checked the air-filter and breather filter, tire pressure and made a short road test, to check out if he would find something while driving my 2006 Mercury Milan. He confirmed to me that I was right about my front rotors being warped just a little bit, but it was not a hazard concern and,I agreed on that, told the guys also that when my front pads are in need for replacement we would change the rotors, Jeff wasnt selling me to change the rotors now and did not gave me any pressure to get more money out of me by suddenly finding something on the car that isnt right. These guys at ODonnells are very laid-back while they know what they are talking about I got for only $ 371.35 out the door my repairs done (rotors and pads and an oil-change + 1 quart of Lucas oil stabilizer that I wanted since the car has 139.000 miles on it. They told me the amount upfront and nothing more needed to be paid Torrey made my invoice and told me if anything does not feel right just come back we will fix it. So conclusion,,, if you want a trustworthy mechanic and garage go to these guys here, they know what they are doing, and wont rip you off,,,

Weve been taking all our family vehicles to ODonnells for several years and have always been very happy with the service. The staff does an excellent job of explaining issues with the vehicle, laying out several repair options, and helping us make the best decision for our budget and the safety of the vehicle. Having a mechanic you trust is so important, and we cant recommend ODonnells enough.

I keep bringing my car to them when it decides to take a dump and they have it up and running asap, from brakes to various other things these guys are great. Especially since not being someone from around this area, its good to know we have reliable service when it gets done.

Very impressed with my 1st visit to ODonnells. No more check engine light on the dash. Robert went out of his way to explain the electrical sensor & related exhaust issues, that they corrected. He also pointed out other issues that may require attention in the future. Excellent customer service.

We are from Tennessee and were visiting our friends in Lansing when our GMC Denali started smoking really bad. We asked around and several people recommended ODonnells Repair West,Inc. To be honest, we were nervous because of our out of state tag and address. Robert could have easily ripped us off. He knew we had to have car fixed. My brother is a shade tree mechanic and I had told him our symptoms of vehicle and he had give us an idea of what and how much probably cost. Robert charged us less than my brother anticipated and was so nice and professional. I feel he is a man of great morals and I wish so bad I had him for our mechanic here in Tennessee. We HIGHLY recommend this place.

Fantastic customer service! While I was traveling, my vehicle broke down on the interstate and I had it towed to ODonnells Repair West Inc. The customer service has been top notch. While communicating through the online scheduling system, phone calls, and emails, I was extremely pleased with the timeliness and professionalism of the staff. I wish I lived closer so that I could have all of my repairs performed at ODonnells Repair West Inc. Great experience!

O Donnells will always have my business when in MI! My Fiance and I were preparing for a move to Florida, and had just worked at a summer camp (we were BROKE). We knew we needed a few repairs before the long drive, so we took our car to Muffler Man. Big mistake. They were dishonest and tried to overcharge us. We decided to take the car to O Donnells instead because it was close to our house, and we were so impressed with not only the quality mechanic services they provided, but that they genuinely cared that we made our move safely and got all of the necessary repairs done. I highly recommend O Donnells if you want a no B.S., honest mechanic.

The ODonnells Mechanics work on effective maintenance car needs.Recently I needed an inspection of my car in preparation for a drive out west.They not only did it they did not charge! They found nothing because they had been taking good care of my car.They also remind me when follow-up work is due.Give them a visit to do your safety work.

We were stranded in Lansing with the tire on car ready to fall off. We came across ODonnells, and even though it was near closing time, Robert, Brian and Dave stayed over to fix my car. They did a great job.. If I lived in Lansing they would be my go to repair shop. Keep up the good work..

Friendly, honest, and straightforward. I cant say enough good about this shop. I came in on Monday morning with a car Id gotten towed there over the weekend. They already had a full day of work scheduled, but they took time to look at my car and at least figure out what needed to be done to properly diagnose the problem, and got it set up so they could confirm their suspicions first thing the next morning and get the work done quickly. The next morning they very clearly laid out what had happened, what needed to be fixed (and what work would be good to do but wasnt absolutely essential) and gave me a price quote. I told them to go ahead but try to keep the price down if possible, and they did everything they could to get me a better deal without sacrificing too much in terms of quality of parts. When all was said and done they explained exactly what theyd replaced, and what warning signs I should look out for in the future to prevent this sort of thing from happening again, as well as what I could do to minimize damage to my engine if I did have another problem. The car runs better now than it ever has, and I will never go anywhere else for service.

Can’t recommend O’Donnell’s Repair West enough! These guys will give you just what you need when you need it. My subura outback is running better than it ever has and it’s thanks to O’Donnell’s. Ladies don’t hesitate to try out this place, they are kind and will explain everything and anything that you need them to. Went in for broken water pump, and check into shocks (slight vibration passenger side). They stated my shocks were fine and had me fix upper and lower ball joints on both sides that failed immediately!!! Ended up destroying both tires, brake line, and bent my tie rods when I went into the ditch. Had it towed to closest repair shop on side of highway only to find out, both shocks were actually broke and my brake line was bent causing my wheel to lock up. Friendly service, horrible repair work. Use caution

Very dissatisfied with the service we received here. My electronics died in my car and I had it towed to them. It took over a month to finally get my car back and they told me it was running a little rough but it was drivable. When we got it home and had it looked at for a quote to fix the remaining issues we were told they should have never let us drive this vehicle off their lot. There were two cylinder misfires, loose bolts on the engine cover, bad ignition coils that were not fastened among other things. ODonnells was supposed to have fixed the misfire and replaced the ignition coils but all were bad when we had it checked after. I will not be taking anymore of my vehicles to this shop.

Went in to another car repair shop, concerned my car was hemorrhaging fuel and I could smell fumes. The gentlemen, while polite were adamant nothing was wrong with my car. I brought it to ODonnells where I found out from the staff that I had issues with the fuel system. Long story short, I may be out over a grand but I no longer smell gas everytime I am near my car the needle on my gas gauge is no longer mocking me.

For the past ten years I have had my cars exclusively repaired my ODonnells. They do a great joj at a fair price. My Aurora has a 170,000 miles and is still going strong!Thanks!Bob Thelen

Staff does a good job of looking at the whole car and noting potential trouble spots. I have an older vehicle, and I feel confident continuing to drive it knowing it is in good repair.

I was frustrated with the time it took for repair an getting information an difficaulties making payment, however Robert called an apologized an to make things right he offered to come in on his day off so I could get my sons car. I dont know any other car repair place that would do that.

Was headed out of town for business when I noticed my serpentine belt was frayed and it needed to be replaced immediately. I drove by on a Saturday and they took a look and then fixed me up in less than 30 minutes. They also charged about $50 less than what others had estimated. I will be going back for oil changes and all of my automotive needs.
