Started out hopeful that my child was going to get the math help she so desperately needed. I quickly started to see things I didn’t like1. During online tutoring the person helping her would disappear for half of her tutoring session2. My daughter would tell me about “little” things such as the tutors rolling her eyes when she didn’t understand something3. The owners husband snapped at my daughter at one point and when I asked about it she said he’d told her about the incident and only happens out of frustration to help her4. My daughter came to me on what is now her last day of tutoring with this place and told me that the owner accused her of stealing, when I asked the owner about it she told me that was not the case and had only been trying to make “friendly” conversation with her. My child’s recollection of the conversation didn’t seem that way at all and I know she would not lie to me about something like this. When I asked the owner about this she completely denied it almost calling my kid a liar. I wanted to believe that the overly friendly, loving and welcoming attitude I would get from her was real and that she truly had the my child’s best interest. I asked if we could take a months break after that, only to never hear back from them not knowing if I’d get charged randomly. Overall very unprofessional! Parents believe your intuition when you get a feeling something is off or not right. Reading past reviews about this place only confirms that they are not qualified to work with children.
My 12 year old daughter loves mathnasium and she hates everything. It is helping build her confidence. The cost is worth it to me.
Mathnasium Lakewood is awesome. Very knowledgeable owners and staff. They really care about learning. They take time to get to know each family and to figure out which method of learning works best for each child. This was important to us. Our child’s confidence in himself and his math abilities grows with each session. See Kristen if your child needs to improve their math skills. They offer online and in person tutoring. You won’t regret it!!!
Mathnasium is great! My daughter learns so much from the tutors and she has so much more confidence in the classroom.
My son has always struggled with math and consequently fell behind on grade level skills and lost self-esteem. Mathnasium is improving his skills and confidence. In math class at school he is able to apply what is he is learning in Mathnasium and excited that concepts look familiar instead of overwhelming. It is a financial and time commitment, but worth it to see the improvement and emotional confidence build in my child. Also, he really likes the teachers and doesn’t mind the sessions.
The Mathnasium is a great learning center! My son’s math skills improved very quickly, and the owners are very nice people. Highly recommended!
We love Mathnasium of Lakewood!! Kristen and Richard and the staff are so great! My girls love them and look forward to their sessions all the time not to mention it has been a lifesaver for us parents for helping them with their math schoolwork. Thank you so much guys we appreciate you!!
The Math Professionals have various ways of teaching math so that the student understands. They make math fun by using math games of all types, puzzles, etc. They also help students with math homework.
I reached out to Mathnasium about a month ago when my daughter started third grade. We were struggling with homework every night, and it was awful. Since she started, her homework time has gone down to a reasonable and normal amount (she usually does her math homework at Mathnasium). She has more confidence about her work, we no longer argue about it, and she actually likes going there. Her attitude about math has completely changed. We also like the staff at Mathnasium. They are all very kind and very knowledgeable. They also have a great rewards system that actually motivates my kid and gets her excited.I was hesitant at first to actually pay for a tutor, because it’s something I’d never done. However, now I see it as a complete investment and something that really helped us as a family. We are no longer fighting every night about homework and it’s made a huge difference!
We absolutely love this place! Kristen and her team are genuinely compassionate, enthusiastic and willing to customize a plan that works best for your child. We have recommended Mathnasium to several friends, whose children have joined and experienced similar success. Both of our daughters’ math test scores have improved significantly - thanks to Mathnasium of Lakewood!
Lakewood Mathnasium is a great place with great teachers. The kids are learning so much and look forward to going each time.
I have found Mathnasium in Lakewood to offer more than I had pictured. The owners and staff provide an extremely warm, friendly, and safe atmosphere. Our soon-to-be fifth grader is really enjoying the educational experience and gaining confidence and a positive attitude toward math. This was intended on our part to serve as support to her math education just for the summer before returning to school, but I am now considering we might continue to be a part of the mathnasium “family” during the school year. I am so glad we took a chance! I highly recommend Mathnasium Lakewood
After living in S. Korea for 15 years, I have seen first-hand the global competition our kids are up against in mathematics. As major tech companies become increasingly globalized, the need for our kids to go beyond state standards has never been more important. No longer are after-school programs only for those who are struggling. Not only does the Lakewood Mathnasium make learning math fun but also gives your child the advantages they will need to stand out from their peers in mathematics.
Don’t contract with this business. The lady who owns this business does not keep her agreements with people. She agreed to let a youth stem group meet in her place of business for a little over 6 months. What none of us knew was that she was only donating the space if she got some of our members to sign up for her outrageously, expensive tutoring. What a fool, STEM kids are not the type of kids who need help with math. She was passive aggressive towards our group and utterly disgusted that she did not get any of our kids to sign up. She kicked us out before our class was complete and before the end of the agreed upon date because the month of May came and she wanted to “get her summer started”. No wonder she is hard up for business when you read the previous review of how she treated a potential customer’s kid over a piece of candy she laid out for guests. Wow! Real smart! She also barked at some of our STEM kids not to touch any of the several games she leaves out for guests to play with. I suppose that they are there for decoration. Also, no one ever came in to get information or be tutored while we were there. No worries, the word is certainly out about this business since she just let down over a dozen adults and kids involved who will all be telling all their neighbors, friends, etc. Brilliant! I would not send any kid to her for tutoring when she isn’t too smart on how to run a business.
We love this place! They are relatively new and have already donated time, free tutoring, and talent to our local schools. They are helping my son with Algebra II Honors and he loves that he can just drop in several times a week.
The positive attitudes of all the staff has been a major contributing factor in the progress my daughter is making in math right now! She has said that she is in a more positive mood after she has completed a session with the Lakewood staff. Thank you all!
My son has enjoyed his time with Mathnasium of Lakewood! Kristen is so nice and welcoming and makes an effort to get to know the kids and parents to make the environment feel more like community. I love the proximity to our house and the flexibility with their drop-in schedule. My son excels in some areas in Math and needs that extra push and challenge in other areas and the instructors at Mathnasium make it fun for him to extend his learning with the curriculum that is personalized for him. His confidence and enjoyment of Math has improved since doing the tutoring with Mathnasium, which is a piece of our goal for him with Math concepts. Your child can get specialized help if they are struggling or they can be challenged a bit, if they are ahead of their grade level in Math. Thanks for making Math fun for my kid! We have recommended this location to friends and classmates and already have had some of them sign-up too!
I go to Mathnasium almost everyday I can, because they make learning math fun. They always greet me with a smile and make me feel welcome. I have learned a lot of math because their employees are incredibly intelligent and nice. I highly recommend Mathnasium. A+
My 4th grader is nearing the end of her 6-month commitment to Mathnasium. Her confidence has improved so much, we no longer battle over homework! She now looks forward to showing me what she knows and she WANTs to finish her math right when she gets home from school! She can now articulate her process and makes sense of what she is learning at school. I cant thank the Mathnasium team enough for the knowledge and tools theyve given my daughter and the warm welcome everytime we are there. She says, Make sure to thank Avery for me, he rocks!
I really like this program its been a lot of help for my daughter and she reallyenjoys the classes and the teachers are really supportive and kind. I highly recommend Mathnasium, thank you very much.
Kristen and her team are great! My daughter was having a hard time in math and did not want anything to do with the subject. But I have noticed a difference in her since she started attending Mathnasium. She wants to do her homework and always asks when is the next day for Mathnasium. The staff at Mathnasium has really took their time to get in my daughter’s head and meet her where she is at. The constant homework fights have stopped! I recommend Mathnasium to parents that have a child or children struggling in Math
Mathnasium is awesome. They are so patient and awesome in working with our son!
My son has been going to Mathnasium for a few months and its made a huge improvement in his math skills and test scores. Everyone there is so friendly, and he really enjoys going.
I had originally posted this to the Facebook page but they have it blocked and since noone has made an effort to reach out or make this woman apologize or even acknowledge the situation Ill post it here .... This happened in November. So we took my little man out with us and we saw this place called Mathnasium( its a place for kids to get better at math). We stopped in to ask a few questions for possibly sending our daughter for help. While im talking to the owner i guess my 4 year old spotted a pumpkin with candy and being 4 years old he grabbed a few jolly rancers (4 to be exact). The owner promptly stops talking to me looks at my son and says ohhh NO I DONT ALLOW STEALING IN HERE AND YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO SAY PLEASE AND THANK YOU she continues with how uncomfortable she was with my 4 year stealing. Being caught off guard i tried to hurry up and get out of there. Am i wrong for being upset? I dont think this is a place i want to send my daughter now and i agree he should of asked but to bluntly call my 4 year old son a thief was wrong and she could of handled the situation better..... Im sorry my 4 year old offended the owner so bad that she felt the need to say it clearly and make a 4 year old feel bad that after he left he said i sorry i a thief hes 4 not 6 not 8 not 10 hes 4 he is still learning and treating a toddler in such a way is disgusting... my daughter will not be going here after talking with my husband and accessing the situation.
Our girls always love when it is a Mathnasium day!
