We joined our kids in Kumon last year, and are very impressed with the progress they have made so far. Our son, who started with additions is now doing fractions in less than a year. The Kumon homework is helping our sons do Math and English regularly (every day). It has helped establish a beneficial routine for them. Wendy is very understanding and patient with the kids. We highly recommend this program to everyone.

We started using Kumon in Lakewood branch since last year with our oldest child. This year we trusted Miss Wendy with 2 more kids of ours. Our children are excel in school because of her. As parents we are very proud with the way she mentors our 3 kids. We highly recommend her among our church members in this area. As far as I know, Ms Wendy treated every one politely and respectfully. I think the rest of the parents know the truth and can stand behind what they know.

I am an employee at Kumon and I ver much enjoy working there and getting to see so many amazing children learn and grow through the Kumon program. They are able to enhance their learning experience which is exactly what Kumon does. The program helps kids who want to advance in their studies or catch up in school through a series of readings, vocabulary, and math worksheets according to their grade level. Similarly, Kumon allows children to become more independent in their studies by giving them the chance to figure out problems for themselves. Of course when they first start at early elementary ages they have guidance but it is not long before they break through that and create a cycle for themselves. Kumon teaches reading and math from basic kindergarten levels to through high school calculus and advanced reading comprehension. Overall Kumon is wonderful place for children to reach their full potential in education.

Wendy is a great teacher and my experience with my son for the past two and a half years is extremely positive. He is at G+ level in grade 4. At least two years ahead of his GT class in public school and at least 3 years ahead of Dennison elementary that is often touted as the best elementary school in Jefferson county. In addition it has taught him that he can teach himself much of what he wants in life. In our time at Kumon, I have seen children that were years behind grade level surpass grade level in two years. This is not a tutoring program. Tutoring programs do not work for developing a student. Tutoring is only a temporary catch up and not something a child who wants to excel stays with. want your child to excel send them to Wendy. She has always been good at communicating and has even set up a program for parents of advanced kids to help their kids stay motivated and progressing. We previously went to another school called Mathnasium and are happy we made the switch.

This review is for the Lakewood Colorado Kumon:This program is fine for learning rote calculations in elementary math. Learning is done through tons of repetition. However, the common core in education is more about reasoning and learning to solve story problems and figuring out what numbers to put where in the equation. This program absolutely does not address that and should be modified to do so.The center doesnt do much teaching, they just give out worksheets, the parents wind up doing most of the explanation at home because they have homework every day. The parents also have to do all the grading...big time commitment.The center has many add-on fees and it can get expensive. The center director seems overwhelmed and is slow to respond to parents questions or communication and sometimes just ignores it.Overall, my child learned basic math, but I feel like we paid a lot of money for tons of paper shuffling when I did most the teaching.

We have been a part of the Lakewood Kumon Center for coming up on 4 years. We had two children in the program and now have one. Our oldest is now a freshman in high school and has significantly improved his math skills. Thanks to Kumon, he received the fundamentals and solid foundation he needed to move on to more abstract math.Our youngest still in the program in 5th grade and made it to Algebra by 5th. He is still going strong and has been accelerated one year in math at school. He loves Kumon and is motivated to continue to grow with the program. He is not challenged in school, but gets great enrichment and challenge as part of the Kumon Lakewood center studies. I would highly recommend the Kumon program. It provides, depth and a solid mathematical foundations students need to survive mathmatically. Unfortunately, with Common Core, kids are suffering and not learning the basics anymore. Kumon teaches you that 2+2=4 . Once that is truly mastered then you can get more abstract. Dont let your kids be the next public school experiment in math. You simply cannot argue about teaching the fundamentals. Kumon works!
