This is from my experience/viewpoint and how I felt. I communicated we needed soil tests for my sidewalk/driveway in order to pass the city inspection prior to pouring the concrete. I informed the Best Engineering my plan was to have them come out for the soil testing a couple hour prior to pouring the concrete driveway and sidewalk. The reason I did this was just in case we didnt pass the test. I was not told by the company the results wouldnt be ready immediately. I voiced I felt it was unfair to charge me for the services because they wouldnt be available in time for the inspection. I am the homeowner and I do not know everything related to construction, organizations should be upfront regarding services and expectations, as I was. I felt I was taken advantage because its not their job to inform me of the process. I feel with how I communicated the situation, it is their responsibility to inform individuals like myself, the results wouldnt be ready in time for the pour. Why would I call for an soil test that takes 24 hour turnaround (not sure what the turnaround time would have been), when I plan to pour in 2 hours? It doesnt make sense to pour the concrete until the result came back.
