I shouldve looked around for other lawyers but I went off reviews on google. Here is my personal experience:I went to Kevin Byrd to get child support and a parenting plan. I have my daughter 5 nights a week and work everyday. To sum it up, I ended up losing and receiving no child support. Its just odd to me that WA is a women state and Im the primary parent who once again have my daughter 5 nights... receive no child support. The moment the hearing was done, Kevin stop responding to my email and stated I would have to pay for additional advice.I wish I wouldve looked around and found a lawyer who empathizes with their clients and treat them as humans and not just a payment machine. I would just be cautious because Im still confused on how I dont receive financial assistance and even the court order says Im the primary parent.Also, I submitted documentations requested and they kept asking me for things Ive already sent. The day of my first court hearing date he was no prepared, which made us push the date out a month.I just encourage people to shop around and find someone who is really involved with their clients cases.

I was recently in need of family legal services and after interviewing a few attorneys I felt the most comfortable with Kevin Byrd. Professional and calming through a challenging situation, yet there is also a personal touch to how Kevin and staff serve their clients. No regrets in hiring and although I hope to never need these services again, I am happy to say he has my trust and business should there be another attack in the future. There is a LOT of experience with legal issues in this office and one should not underestimate the value that provides. Kevin Byrds law firm is a great fit for me and It is clear Kevin absolutely loves his profession!

This dude straight Fed me in court! Didnt even use lube or spit! Went in dry! Worst lawyer ever. His assistant is very helpful though.

Did not help with divorce. Only costed me money. Did not fight for my fatherly duties to be financially stable to take care of my kids.

I contacted numerous attorneys in the area before I obtained Kevins team. All the other attorneys wanted $400+/hour and which is appalling & absurd! I called a divorce lawyer my sister used for her divorce in 2000. He wasnt taking on contested cases and they referred me to Kevin. Im very grateful to this day for the AMAZING referral! His services are reasonably priced and his team is efficient, caring, knowledgeable & patient! Im currently still going through my divorce and have the utmost confidence everything will work out! I highly recommend Kevin to anyone seeking excellent counsel!

The Kevin G Byrd team were compassionate and professional throughout a long and arduous process. They were diligent and detailed with the processing of paperwork and in representing me in court and with all of the legal matters outside of the courtroom as well. Giving one star is being generous we needed this man to represent us in a simple case very simple he chargesd a $1,000 and did I want to say did nothing but he did the opposite of what we wanted this man is incapable a liar and a thief do not trust this man he will throw you under the bus he just wants your money

Good guy.Edit to add more detail:When I hired Mr. Byrd I was in the middle of a disastrous situation with my ex, and I wasnt really thinking clearly at the time, so I ended up hiring Mr. Byrd, and then decided to change my legal strategy, which was not a very good idea.But Mr. Byrd was the most honest guy Ive ever worked with, and gave me back more money than I deserved.He worked really hard for me, and I shouldve followed his advice. I regret not sticking with Mr. Byrd for my attorney to help me with my issues with my ex and my son.Thankfully things are ok for me now, but if they ever get bad again, the first person Im calling is Mr. Byrd.If you have family law issues, Mr. Byrd is the guy you want to call.

Mr.Byrd and his team are exceptional!I was able to get a free consultation next day. I didnt feel rushed and I didnt feel pressured.The retainer fee was more than reasonable, which was high on my list of importance.Mr.Byrds team: Rita, Amy, and Pennie were warm, professional, and knowledgeable.I felt confident in hiring Mr.Byrd based on his years of experience and his down-to-earth nature.I would definitely recommend Mr.Byrd and if needed, I will hire him again.And yes, I won my case. :)

Highly recommended. Very professional and personable. By the time the case was finalized, I felt like they were family or close friends. They were very open and honest and timely in their proceedings. For all the dads pursuing custody in Washington, these are your people. Of course every situation is different. Kevin G. Byrd is an excellent Attorney. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Kevins detaining fee is so reasonable and it is the best in town. I hired him for my divorce and child custody, and he went above and beyond and I had a great outcome. Kevin and his team were always there to answer all my question which made this process smooth, and their positive upbeat environment made my journey much easier!

Dont waste your money!! Completely unprofessional office staff. Employees talking about each other and sharing confidential, personal stuff that shouldnt be shared with clients. Communication in this office is grossly lacking. I paid $4000 with the understanding that I would be divorced in 90 days because he is a flat fee attorney. I called and called numerous times and no one could answer my questions one was always whats next? I got NOTHING! After $4000 and 120 days, Im still married to a monster and I get hung up on because Kevin asked me for more money for the next phase REALLY? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The office manager gave out unsolicited advice and completley turned a 180 and hung up on me when confronted.Never go here.

When i started my bankruptcy I was financially strapped I was not able to pay a lot at any given time. I took me almost 9 years to pay of my bankruptcy and never did Kevins office complain that it was taking me so long they supported me through every step of the way they were my biggest supporter and it was not because of the money it is because they believed in me and wanted and wanted to see me make financial independence. They have become part of my extended family and I love going by to see them and just say hello. I could not have done it without their support and patience.

Absolutely horrible. Will do NOTHING but prolong your divorce so that he can ask for additional money for the next phase. Such a scam and waste of time. Youre better off paying more for someone else, as with him you will eventually pay the same amount.

I have gone to Mr. Byrds office on two different occasions, both times Mr. Byrds office have been extremely helpful. This last time I was reaching out to them for a very time sensitive matter. However, with working Monday thru Friday it was very difficult to get into the office. Rita, who works with Mr. Byrd was amazing! She let us call her at home on the weekends and walked us through the who process to educated us on what was happening. This was a very stressful situation, to begin with, and she made us feel empowered. I would highly recommend if you are ever looking for an Attorney to help you with financial situations Mr. Kevin Byrds office (along with Rita!) will make this as easy as possible for you.

Very professional office that makes you feel at home. Wish I would have gone to his office first I would have saved tens of thousands of dollars. I went to Mr. Byrd after five and a half years of trying to divorce my spouse. They cared about me and my situation, and developed a quick and equal remedy with my divorce with in two months. The prior attorney charged me ten times the amount the Mr. Byrd did with no results. Kevin Byrd is one of the best counselors at law in Washington state.

My experience with this firm in it’s entirety is terrible. Completely unprofessional and now I see why people pay more and wait to see a more competent firm. Not only did my attorney completely drop the ball in court and definitely didn’t fight for me he didn’t even seem to know anything about my case. I literally was sworn in to speak because it was a moment of self preservation because my attorney wasn’t doing what I was paying him to do which was make sure I wasn’t taken advantage of. Kay figured out my child support to be less then what the state figured so I’m now receiving less pay because court overrides state. The office staff spoke to my husband and even my husband joked saying how unprofessional they were and told him things they shouldn’t have. Amy then tried covering her actions by saying she was “just trying to get me some money.” I literally had to tell Kay that I’m the one paying for representation NOT my husband. Amy also on two occasions called me and very snotty asked me to make my payment when my payments were not only in on time if anything they were early. To which I was put on hold then she blamed it on someone not leaving notes. My husband and I both were ordered to take evaluations. I asked Kevin if we both agreed to the divorce did I still have to take the evaluation? He said yes no judge would sign off on it. Well, I took mine the husband didn’t take his and since it was court ordered I lost $850.00 where my husband didn’t lose a penny. Also I haven’t received a penny from the court ordered spousal maintenance from 5 mos ago and when I asked Amy about the court fees that were supposed to be paid to my attorney, then if there was no balance once they receive money I then would get a check from their office not only did I not receive anything in 5 mos I clearly had a lazy attorney who wouldn’t fight for me. I was also told by Amy that in order to file permanent divorce papers I had to be paid in full, not only was this never explained/told to me but what is the point of a payment plan?!! Again, I DO NOT trust this office at all. I agree with the comments in here from reviewers saying this office is a joke because it is I really wish I went with another attorney and I’m pretty positive I could’ve better represented myself. I corrected so many errors from which party was paying who to other clerical errors to the point I had to ask myself why did I pay these people? I also was told the $4000.00 was for the first year and only 5% of cases go past that I never even heard about these “phases” until I was about 3 mos in and they were going to want more money had it continued so the jist is he really isn’t any cheaper imo. I literally even heard Amy talk about her own boss (Kevin) commiting time theft from her and her showing me pounds of paperwork it was at this very moment I felt so defeated my attorney was terrible, his own office staff was not only unprofessional but clearly didn’t trust him as well and here I am a single mother just trying to make it and already having paid him so I was stuck. I could go on but the moral of the story is if you were me I’d tell you not to go here.

Our experience with the firm of Kevin G. Byrd was excellent. The staff are friendly and dedicated to serving clients with efficiency and compassion. Their knowledge, experience and negotiation skills provided us with alternative solutions and took a great dal of stress from our lives. We would highly recommend them.

Every single dime of my money was a waste to this guy. The office is so unprofessional. He is lazy and it’s obvious he doesn’t care much about winning, losing, or anything else but getting paid! He will take your money which is way to much and then not do a damn thing! I’ve had to have 4 attorneys in my time and he was the biggest joke of an attorney yet!

Kevin Byrd represented my husband in a criminal case for a crime he did not commit. Kevin did an excellent job and went above and beyond defending my husband. Because of his excellent service my husband was found not guilty. My husband and I would recommend Kevin for all your legal needs for which he practices law.

I wish I listened to the negative reviews before I picked Kevin for my attorney! He’s such a unprofessional attorney....I kept getting misguided information and had to do so many run arounds with them.....they would tell me things last minute and even forget information I kept providing them with....I have been to a couple different attorneys and this was the absolute worst law firm experience! Also u barely see or talk to Kevin it’s mainly his assistants that you go through for absolutely everything!

Unprofessional. Borderline incompetent, to the point we are looking into filing a formal complaint. Disorganized, loses important information. We were finding out about court dates and deadlines from opposing counsel, not him. Completely unprepared in court, stuttering and shuffling papers like its his first time before a judge. Late to court. Does not advocate for his client. Does not answer questions, phone calls or emails. We paid him a $4k retainer for zero results. We switched to another attorney and he wont provide her the details and documents she is requesting and is holding up the process. His legal assistant is not knowledgeable or helpful, is crude and unprofessional, curses and does not file documents. Neither him or her will review/explain what theyre asking you to sign. Please do not hire this attorney. Read the reviews. Wish we had before we hired him.

Kevin Byrd was completely unprepared when it came time to go to court for my daughters divorce. He had not even read the depositions filled by his own office let alone the other side. He only spoke with my daughter one time then left her with his assistants to follow up prior to going to court. Needless to say the court outcome was not good until we dropped him as a lawyer and took over ourselves. Be careful. Once you pay him if you have the same experience as we did you may not see him again until he shows up unprepared
