When my laptop battery suddenly stopped holding a charge, I desperately looked for someone who could repair it as quickly as possible since my laptop is essential to my job. Rick was very knowledgeable and able to help from the second I contacted him. He kept me updated and was very transparent with the process, pricing and length of time it would take to repair (which was fast)! I will continue to use Ricks services for any future repairs needed--highly recommended!
He fixed my iPhone cover was cracked and didnt work. He had it done in less than an hour. Affordable, fast, and nice. Really recommend them!
Rick is the MAN!! Very professional, communicative, and a Right to Repair Advocate. Fixed my Mac and gave it new life. Highly recommend!!!!REDUCE>RESUSE>RECYCLE
Rick is super knowledgeable and a very nice man. My daughter spilled Powerade on her MacBook Pro and didn’t tell mom for a while! Thank Goodness for Rick! He took her laptop apart, cleaned as much as he could, replaced the power button and the audio cable, and saved my daughter tons of money. Her laptop runs like it did brand new and for less than $300. Repairs were done in just a few days and he kept me updated every step of the way. Thanks Rick!! You’re awesome.
Knowledge service and fast. Gets my vote
Rick was super nice and helpful with getting a new battery for my fiancé’s laptop! He was quick and responsive!
Worst service I have ever had! So unimpressed.
I have been to Rick twice now for repairs on my Macbook Air. I could not have been happier with the experience. Both times he was very quick with the repair and I had my computer back within a couple of days. He was upfront with me and kept me in the loop with the repairs he was doing. Above all, he has very fair pricing on his repairs. He was pleasant to work with and I am confident I got honest quotes and quality repairs. He is now my go-to tech guy in the Denver area!I would definitely recommend checking him out before heading to the Apple store or any other repair stores!
Rick was wonderful!!! I called the minute he opened on a Saturday freaking out because my MacBook Pro stopped charging. He told me to come on over, took a look, fixed it and sent me home with a new charger (not the knock off one I had purchased accidentally). Not only did he deliver excellent customer service, he is the sweetest man you will ever meet! 🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏💗
Amazing work! My MacBook Pro had a bloated battery that pushed the trackpad up and out of the base and popped a screw on the bottom. Tried to go through Apple Care, but was going to have to wait 45-1 hour or make an appointment some time later, but found Macintosh Computer Tech through word-of-mouth and had my Mac fixed for under $100 and was in-and-out of the shop in less than 1 hour. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate about your computer needs. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone who has an Apple-Accident. This guy is great.Pictures: Before and AfterMac Book Pro 15, 2008-2009
Rick provided excellent service. Took my iPhone 6 he took care of it in no time very reputable reasonable Highly recommend!
Took my MacBook Air to the Apple Genius bar first, 4 years ago. They said $760 to repair, from a water spill on the keyboard. Decided on a second opinion. Rick said it needed a new battery, and one other thing. He only charged me $250 total, for parts and labor. Have gone in for a few other various things since. He is honest, fairly priced, and now the only person I will trust with all my Apple stuff!
Long overdue review. Ive been taking my Apple devices – personal and work – to Rick for ~5 years now. There hasnt been a problem he cant solve, and Ive had some doozies. He is deeply knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and reasonably priced. He never tries to sell extra services or parts, has helped me find the most economical solution, and keeps his word on what hes going to do and when it will be done. Thats why when something fails or I do something stupid, I skip the Genius (sic) Bar and Apple Care and immediately call Rick.
Rick saved the day! Within 2-3 hours, he took in my Mac laptop, diagnosed the multiple problems (water damage & other issues), and replaced my hard drive. Not to mention that his prices are GREAT and about half the cost of other repair shops. I’m thrilled with his customer service and fixing my Mac so quickly. I’ll only go to him moving forward.
I highly recommend Rick. He is both fair, knowledgeable, and kind. Not to mention a skilled and honest technician. This dude has fixed a lot of machines in his life and does high quality work for a fraction of the price overlord apple charges.I bring my machine to him for a yearly fan cleaning/general mantientece and it makes a huge difference in speed. He has also helped me get content off a machine that wouldnt turn on and had corrupted harddrive, and has saved multiple iPhones after being told by apple to just return the broken phone back to them
I inherited a 2013 MacBook Pro that had been a paperweight since 2016 because the WiFi & Bluetooth didnt work.Dropped it off, expecting to leave it for a couple of days. Got a call as I finished lunch, now it works like a charm. Absolutely fair price. Incredibly fast service.I now have a Mac repair guy. Thanks, Rick!
This week I was once again floored by Ricks frank honesty and casual competence and service. It started with a phone call where he gave me another trick to try that I hadnt encountered on the forums. It didnt work but if you start calling around and asking questions see if you hear anything other than, youll have to bring it to me and let me look at it. Think of the caliper of independent business person who starts with, try this first and maybe you wont need to bring it in at all. over the phone. Most places charge a considerable amount just for diagnostics. Rick says something like, I dont really do that. which he didnt.Another important note: Most people who fix macs actually just swap out parts. Thats exactly what is required sometimes but depending on the instance Rick can actually fix the parts and has a enough knowledge just to replace the parts that need it, which is sadly a rarer skill than you might guessRick is doing social distancing drop off and without looking at said it could be up to three days. Instead he had it later that afternoon!Turned out my completely dead computer just needed a simple mechanical fix but one that involved disassembling it a good bit. Rick explained it simply without exaggeration or embellishment and charged me a correspondingly simple price, less than just the diagnostic fee at most places, while my computer was returned cleaned up and looking almost new! Thanks Rick!
I have taken my Macs to Rick for a few years now. When I needed various things done on an iMac and MacBook Pro, Rick’s work and customer service have always been excellent. He has replaced hard drives, video processors, tuned up my operating systems, and most recently replaced a battery and added RAM on an older laptop. I have found this businessman to be honest, reliable, timely, accommodating, and with rates that are quite reasonable. I highly recommend Macintosh Computer iTech for all things Mac.
Rick rules! He provided fast and easy service for a reasonable price. On top of that, he continued to give me advice on computer maintenance, and even advice for a friend. HIGHLY recommend!
Ive worked with Rick now on a few of my computers and phones and there is no one better. He is responsive, quick moving, and is always very reasonably priced. If youre in need of someone to fix or refurbish your device you are looking at the right place. Thanks again, Rick. Ill be back!
I have a 8 year old MacBook that Rick was able to fix within 40 minutes on the spot and for less than $100! Such a sweet, hardworking man. He is awesome! I’ll never go to an Apple store anymore. Thank you Rick!
I was quoted price over the phone. Wasn’t told about increase in price. Rick was very rude and condescending. I will not utilize his services again!!!
Rick repaired my work MacBook (again); it was complete in an hour. His prices are very fair and most importantly, he is very honest. David Leonard
Rick does excellent work. I live in Indiana and wouldnt have anyone else work on my Apple computers. Tell your friends. Hes the best.
Sorry I wrote such a harsh review I am changing it...I’ve been going to this guy for over 10 years and then he sells me a computer that Had many problems he should have found before selling it to me and even though we still had unresolved issues he told me this is the last time he’s working on my machine. He is a nice hard working man but this deal left me feeling very negative. I am upset and disappointed.
Brought my older MacBook Pro to Rick and he sat right down with me to diagnose! Unfortunately it had several issues but he fixed them all in just a few days. And the price was well below what I had imagined it might cost! This was my first time getting Mac repairs (in all the years Ive owned Mac computers) and I just will not go anywhere else in the future. Thanks for being magical, Rick!
Rick has worked on several of my computers and always does a great job in a timely and affordable manner. We have also bought a refurbished computer from him as well. I refer all of my Mac friends to use him for their repair needs.
I was having troubles with my trackpad two days before finals and Rick was able to get my computer working again within an hour of me telling him my trackpad wasnt working on a Holiday. Very fast service and I am pleased with the results.
To my husband and me, Rick has always been accommodating and professional. I dont get the one bad review. We have used him for several years for our MacAir and laptops and his expertise is unrivaled. Also had him change a battery in my iPhone instead of having Apple do it. Cost has always been reasonable as is turnaround when you have to leave an item with him. We think Rick is amazing! Do not let one bad erroneous review be off-putting - he is a treasure.
If I could give Rick 10 stars, I would. All of my family, my Mac friends and I have been going to Rick for many years. He has repaired numerous computers and iPhones (dunked in pools, broken screens, bursting batteries, etc.) It is absolutely magical to see him work!Ive purchased used computers from him, asked for technical advice, had him remove viruses, update machines and about everything else you can imagine. Hes honest and his pricing is more than fair. I dont know what we would do without him!
I am writing this review to inform any future customers of Ricks. I don’t leave many reviews and hate to be negative but I have to write this to inform any future customers. Before I took my computer to Rick I had it with the Genius bar at the Cherry Creek Apple store because I was experiencing a keyboard malfunction where it would double type and also the H key was not responding correctly. I looked this up online and it was a common problem that the 2017 MacBook Pro‘s we’re having with the keyboard. The Apple store wanted $1500 to fix the keyboard because they saw some water damage inside my computer. If there wasn’t any water damage this would’ve been a free repair. Before I took the computer into Apple everything was working properly besides the key miss typing issue. So the water damage was not affecting anything other function of them computer.Since I didn’t want to pay the $1500 that Apple store had quoted to fix the keyboard I thought I would take it into Rick to get a second opinion and an estimate on how much it would cost to fix the keyboard. I picked up the computer from the Apple Genius Bar at Cherry Creek mall and took it directly to Rick to have him look at it. I told him the story of what Apple had told me and he went on to tell me they most likely did not see any water damage and that they just didn’t want to fix my machine without charging me more money. He originally told me that everything looked OK although it was very dirty so he did blow it out. He then reassemble the computer and did a hardware reset on it. At this time the computer ran out of battery and went totally dead. He then tried to plug it in but the computer would not recharge. He instructed me to take the computer home and let it charge for a while. This was on a Friday so I let it charge all weekend and it would still not turn on on Monday. I took the computer back into Rick on Monday and he re-opened it and proceeded to tell me he now thought it had water damage and this is the reason that it was not charging. But before he had opened the computer the first time it was charging normally. Now I have a totally dead computer that will not charge. He instructed me that he could send my computer out to one of his friends that does fix this type of repair but it would take a few weeks to get it back. This is my main computer for my business and how I make a living and now it is totally dead.So his story had change from it didn’t have water damage to now it does and this is the reason it’s not charging. Whether or not Ricks diagnosis is correct or not the fact of the matter is I had a working machine before I took it into him and now I am left with a broken computer that is worth virtually nothing. If you are thinking about using Rick to do any repairs would highly advise only taking it to him for simple tasks such as updating hardware and other things that don’t involve opening the computer and messing with the internals of the machine. From what I could tell he specializes in older Macs and less technical repairs.I hope this helps somebody out and save them some time and frustration.
Awesome!! Emailed Rick around 8 pm the other night and he got right back to me. I went in right at 10 the next day and sat quick while he fixed and tuned up my MacBook Air! If I could give him more than 5 stars I would. Plenty of suggestions to avoid future virus issues and supper nice overall! Very happy for the quick service since I live in VA and was only around for a few days!
I have taken two MacBook air laptops to Rick over the last few years. He has always been able to diagnose the problem quickly, have the parts on hand and make the repair. He is a Lakewood jewel.
Rick is professional, detailed and thorough as well as having very reasonable pricing. I would highly recommend for any computer or phone repair.
Rick is smart, fast, professional and accommodating. If you bring your apple product in for repairs, know you are in very capable hands. Recommended without hesitation!
Rick is Awesome! Really friendly and great at repairs. He was able to install a new track pad and battery for me with no wait time. I was on my way with practically a brand new system in no time! Definitely recommend!
They got my MacBook working again, really good turn around time and fair prices. Absolutely recommend
Rick was quick to respond to my email and inspected my Macbook Air the next morning for any signs of water damage after incurring a spill. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous and even provided my kids with chocolate while we waited! I highly highly recommend him to repair your Apple device! Well worth it!
Rick saved my sanity and a ton of money. After a spill my MacBook Pro was fried. Apple estimated a $1600 repair even though I had AppleCare. Rick was able to quickly diagnose the problem and repair my laptop for only $400. My MacBook Pro is now almost new and I could not be more satisfied. It is DEFINITELY worth your time to stop in to see Rick before paying apple an unnecessary sum or a huge replacement cost.
Literally was 1/2 the price of a bigger mac repair shop downtown. Easy to deal with, accepts credit cards, and did the repair right there in front of me! Overall, really happy with the repair. I will be telling my friends!
Rick is great and honest. I brought my iPhone SE in because I ran it threw the washer like a dumb dumb. He tried a couple things out to see if he could get it to work right away. Unfortunately, he informed me my logic board was damaged which will cost more to fix than a new phone, but he referred me to a friend of his up the street that was selling new iPhone SEs right out of the box! Since I said Rick sent me I got a discount! They dont sell the SE anymore so I was stoked to find a new one. Rick was honest with me about my phone damage, didnt charge for the diagnostic, knew where to send me to help me solve my problem, and he got me a discount on my new phone. If your looking for an honest apple tech who knows what hes doing, Rick and Macintosh Computer Itech is the place to go!
Rick is patient and professional with a sense of humor. Im a repeat customer. First time he changed out the battery in my iPhone 6 in no time and the cost was super reasonable. There was no saving my phone on the second visit, but he tried everything he knew to try and save it. Delivered the kiss of death news with a great bed side manner. A+ service. Totally recommend Rick to all my clients and friends.
Rick did an awesome job with my 2011 Macbook Pro. Initially I wasnt sure whether it was time to buy a new computer, since it has gotten very slow with opening and operating applications. After a consultation with Rick we decided to get a new hard drive, upgrade the operations system and install more memory. Rick took care of all of the data transfer and made sure everything was running to my full satisfaction. My computer now runs like new, at a fraction of the cost of a new computer. If you have any questions about your apple products, Rick is the guy to see!
Rick and I talked briefly on the phone about my damaged iPhone 6 and he was willing to take a look. The camera wasnt working after I dropped it. He opened and tested many parts with the diagnosis of the logic board, home button and graphics card could all be damaged. We never like the kiss of death in for our beloved devices but he was patient and kind to me, the mom. As he patiently operated, a line of customers qued out the door. Nice place.
Fast repair and good pricing. I would highly recommended this business.
Great guy very knowledgeable I went to the apple store three times to try to get my Mac fixed and they sent me to micro center. I ended up here and he spent time fixing other problems on my Mac at no additional charge for about a third of the price thanks!
I cant give Rick high enough praise. My computer crashed and it was late Saturday night. I have a presentation coming up on Tuesday and I NEEDED my computer. I called Rick Sunday morning and he was more than willing to help me. His prices are SUPER reasonable and he is a super nice man to work with. I met him for the first time today and I am very glad because he helped me get back up and running!!! Thank you Rick!!!
This is hands down the BEST mac repair shop in the Denver metro area. I have dealt with Rick a few times in the past and every time has been quick, affordable, and an overall great experience. Thats why today, when my macbook pro decided not to turn on or charge anymore, I knew exactly where to bring it. Somehow Rick always finds a way to top my previous experiences. Turns out my motherboard was bad, it was going to take a week and a half to fix (I dont have this time to spare because its finals week in college and all my work is on the hard drive). Rick sympathhized with my situation and went out of his way to find a solution. Within minutes of walking in his shop, he had diagnosed the problem and was driving home to sell me the exact same laptob from his personal collection. He went home (lives a couple of minutes away) got the computer, and had put the hard drive from the old computer into the new one (which I got for a great price and was an upgrade in RAM). Within a half-hour I had a new computer with my old hard drive installed, so I had an exact copy of my old computer. All my school work, pictures, pretty much whole life was intact on and on my new shiny Macbook. Thanks angain Rick for going out of your way to find a solution to my problem. Will definitely be back in the future.
Apparently I gave Rick 5 start over 5 years ago, and thought it was time to update the review. Since then hes saved my 2008 iMac, fixed my parents computer and sold them a fantastic new/used one. Ive brought him a crashed external hard drive - he rescued the data off of it and backed it up to another for under $150. Ricks a nice guy, hes fair and he cares about his work. His rates are more than reasonable and he turns things around quickly. I have no hesitation recommending Rick to handle your all of you Macs needs.
I had an incident where my Macbook became soaked. It had stopped working completely. I had taken it to Rick on Monday and by Wednesday morning he had it up and running again. I was sure I was going to have to pay hundreds if not a thousand to get a new one because how bad it was soaked with water. But Rick was able to fix it like it never happened for a little over $100. Thank you Rick!!! I will for sure be sending my friends and family to you.
I have used Rick for the past 5 years and he is honest, fair and gets the work done timely. Highly recommend Rick to any Mac users in need of a repair.
Ive been using macintosh systems for graphic design daily since 1984. I know a bit about them, But when I have hardware issues or problems beyond my scope I use Rick.He is Friendly knowledgeable and mostly he goes above and beyond to get the right fix at the right price. he is prompt and accommodating to my issues and schedule. Big name stores dont offer that.If your Mac computer needs help, This is by far a better solution the any Best-Boy or Bust-buy Big franchise . One on one that way it should be.
Great guy.
Best service I have encountered when trying to repair my Mac. The prices are very reasonable and the service is quick and effective!
I emailed Rick with a MacBook Pro problem at midnight yesterday and he responded with 20 minutes. After dropping off my laptop today at 11, he got it back to me in like-new condition within two hours. Also I thought his prices were very reasonable, another repair shop quoted me at $160/hr - obscenely high in my opinion.I highly recommend Rick for your Mac repair needs!
Personable, Knowledgeable, Fast, AFFORDABLE - and a great sense of humor, Rick at Macintosh Computer Itech is my new go to in the denver metro area. Not only did he fix my macbook quickly, he became a valuable local apple resource for me and my family. Hes the kind of guy you can actually get on the phone and in a few minutes be sitting down together discussing your computer needs. Highly recommended.
Super positive experience -- I knew it the moment I walked in and saw an office full of random Apple parts spanning the last 25 years. I came in and sat across the table from a human with a small business, while he fixed my computer on the spot -- INFINITELY more satisfying than an overpriced boutique computer shop. If you need help with anything Mac related, do yourself a favor and call Rick.
I am extremely pleased with the work Rick provided on my Macbook Pro. Great service at a great price. Thank you so much!
Good location right off 6, fast service, & suggested next steps (not salesy at all). Rick seems to know his stuff about macs, even talking about how the hardware soldering didnt have lead in it, making it weak. A phone call a couple hours later & my 2011 MBP was good to go.
You get what you pay for: Rick is full of excuses and super defensive about his low quality work, bordering on rude. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
I brought my 2012 MacBook Pro to Rick because it was slowing down pretty bad. Turned out my hard drive was corrupted, so Rick replaced it with an SSD and now my MacBook feels brand new. Rick is friendly and his prices are reasonable. Would recommend.
May 24, 2017 Update - My MacBookPro quit last week. Rick quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired it in just two days. Quick, reliable, professional with reasonable prices - couldnt ask for better service. Thanks Rick!Quick and reasonably priced repair of my MacBook pro keyboard (spilled coffee on it!)
THe owner was responsive to my needs and answered my questions, solved problems on the spot. The price he quoted me for repair work was fair and compared well with other repair services Ive used. I would recommend Rick for all your Mac and peripheral work. Hes prompt and courteous.
Excellent Service!! Replaced the battery and trackpad on my Macbook in one day and very reasonable price! I would highly recommend! Called other places and far more expensive and looking at least a week before it would be done.
Such an amazing experience with this business. I accidently shattered my boyfriends 15inch MacBook Pro screen and wasnt in any financial shape to pay over $1,000 to repair it. Not only did Rick do an amazing job in a timely manner but for half the cost of what I was being quoted for. Now Im not saying this will be the case every time but his prices are still significantly lower than the dozen other places I called. Plus it saves you a trip to the mall just to stand in line at an overly congested Apple Store. As long as I am in CO, this will be the only place I will get repairs done on my phones, tablets and computers! Rick is honest, reliable and isnt out to take advantage. Happy customer here:) Thanks again, Rick!
I am an actual customer and this is an actual review. My iMac took a dump the other day and being a graphic artist, I was devastated and totally freaking out. I took it in to Rick and he was able to recover my hard drive with all my files, then he put me in to a refurbished iMac that cost me a FRACTION of what it would have cost to replace it with a new one. My new-to-me refurbished Mac runs like a champ and I could not be more happy. He is a absolute EXPERT when it when it comes to everything Mac, and I couldnt be more grateful for him. He gets you in and out the door quickly (I was back up and running in 5 hours), but even more importantly, he doesnt try to gouge you or BS you -- like I have experienced with other Denver Mac repair places. I will NEVER go anywhere else, but to Rick at Macintosh Computer iTech. Amazing experience!
Can I give this guy a 0 star? My roomate spilt whiskey all over my computer and I took it to this guy thinking he would do some trouble shooting and figure it out. He just fixes the track pad and keyboard but fails to tell me the hard drive is also going out and that will be another $200 something on top of the $300 I already paid. Why would I want to pay $500 in repair on a mac book that is 5 years old when I could have just invested in a brand new one. DO NOT GO HERE! Go to Mac repair of Denver. I got my hard rive replaced for cheaper there and it is an actual shop with employees not just a rented office space ran by a guy who is trying to give you a half ass fixed computer.
Recommended, Got my Macbook repaired same day - thats value and customer service!
Still hoping for a reply to the questions I emailed in. Its the holidays so Im assuming its busy.
I have been to other places to work on my different macintosh computers over the years. It always becomes very expensive and takes weeks. Well my hard drive was on its last leg in my old Macbook pro and it was time for an upgrade. Luckily I found the only place I will ever trust with my computers again. I received a computer that is now actually faster than it ever was with more storage for a very fair price. If you are looking for professional service and someone that will look out for your best interests instead of trying to make a few extra bucks off you, this is the spot. Cant speak highly enough about the service I received from Rick at itech.
Ive been working with Rick for two years with a couple computer fixes and cracked iphone screens. His customer service is impeccable and he once delivered my laptop to my home because I was hosting a kids bday party and could not break away on a Friday evening to pick it up. Today, he fixed a botched iphone screen at a reduced rate because the part was cheap and I experienced a common fault with it, which was neither my fault or his just bad luck. I walked in and he did it right away. His pricing is always fair and hes interested in keeping clients long term. Hes saved me many times and I highly recommend his service.
Very prompt, knowledgeable and polite. This guy knows what hes doing and I will definitely be brining my Macbook back to him for any further troubleshooting & upgrades.
Rick does great work for a very reasonable price and a very short timeframe. Basically everything youre looking for out of a repair shop!
Prompt service. Happy customer
Rick provides prompt, knowledgeable service for any hardware/software issue for Macs as well as other iOs devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad). His prices are beyond reasonable and he obviously takes pride in his customer service. Highly recommended.
Rick is one of the most honest and responsive repair technicians youll find. After I tried to upgrade my iMac at home to a solid-state drive, I had royally screwed something up when re-assembling it. The fans were going nuts and the drive still wouldnt mount. I took it in to Rick, and he was able to quickly diagnose the problems. In addition, he suggested upgrading to an SSHD which gave me a larger 4TB drive for just a few bucks more. Long story short, he upgraded my 2009 iMac to be a screaming machine with new life in it.I also found him to be more knowledgeable than any of the places Ive used before, and he is very reasonably priced.I highly recommend calling him for any Mac issue, and Ill certainly call him before I attempt an upgrade myself. Hes very accessible to any place in Denver, just off 6th Ave and Wadsworth.Thank you again, Rick!
Fast, reliable, reasonably priced. iPad screen repair was top notch. Fixed my wifi antenna and home button as well. Came in on Sunday to return the iPad to me since I needed it that day.
Rick was great! Nice guy...really helpful.
This was my third time returning to Rick. He provides a quality, personal service at a great cost. And, Ill continue to go back.
Excellent service! Couldnt be happier with the support!
Great, professional service that went way beyond expectations .
Called him with a problem and he helped me fix it over the phone in less than 2 minutes. Thank you so much!!!
Rick rocks! Make him yer Mac man!!!
Rick was a pleasure to work with and was honest!
Efficient, reasonable, knowledgeable. Thanks, Rick!
