We always enjoy hanging out there on 1st Fridays

Hidden in the corner of a strip mall next to Casa Bonita is a great little art gallery filled with local artists work. There is so much variety in the types of art that there is something for everyone here. Check back often because the artists change out their work every two months.

I enjoy Lakewood Arts because they have a great variety of artists and the people who work there are very friendly. I have attended many First Friday events and enjoyed meeting the artists in person!

Good groups of artists at every skill level. Beautiful Gallery -- always well layed out and super memberships. Wish for face-to-face 1st Fridays soon!

Every community needs more places like the Lakewood Arts Counsel.Artists shows, arts and crafts instructional workshops, are a bit of what I saw at the website, along with a full calendar of events and happenings.Go to the website, its a good one, so much more than I could possibly share with you here. Worth the view though.They bring the community together through the arts.

Great art and great classes! And the best First Friday in town.

Now called Lakewood Arts Center, this nonprofit local arts center has been around since 1988. There is a big classroom where lots of classes and workshops are available. There is the cooperative gallery with artwork for sale; paintings, photography, jewelry, glasswork, sculpture and more. I have purchased several pieces of art from the coop gallery and love them! The shows in the Acorn Gallery and Community Wall Gallery change monthly, art shows coordinated by Lakewood Arts Center, and by other local Art Guilds and Organizations. If you are wanting to take that step of entering your artwork in a show there are several a year, juried and not juried. Also, their First Fridays are Great!!
