We did the art walk with a large group of friends. It was a great time. The Joybomb parade was magical. All the artists were very friendly. We will definitely do it again.

My boyfriend and I were really excited to check out the 40 West Art Walk today. Our experience was a mixed bag. On one hand, we did really love the concept and appreciate the support of local artist. We love the idea of bringing art into the streets and following the green line felt like embarking on a treasure hunt. Unfortunately, a lot of the walk was in areas that felt unsafe for many reasons. As a woman, I would feel incredibly unsafe walking this area alone or with my children. My boyfriend grew up on the South side of San Antonio (the roughest part of San Antonio, TX) and his be diligent about watching everyone and keep your head on a swivel radar was on 100%. This made it nearly impossible to relax and enjoy this super cool concept. Hope the city can get things cleaned up so families can come out and enjoy. Exposure to art is so important....so is safety.

They really pulled it off! Great art, variety, things for the kids, food.... All of it, great!

They do so much for artists and are truly supportive. The gallery here always has cool art on the walls and all the studios in the area are awesome as well. Definitely recommend checking out on a first Friday.

Wonderful organization with a beautiful, curated gallery featuring stunning local talent. If you go, be sure to stop in at not only the 40 West Arts space but the surrounding venues as well. Theyre worth your time.

Wonderful group of artists spread out throughout the neighborhood. Not always easy to find the vast variety artist but often worth the time spent to find them. I will be back, mildly LBGT friendly..

I expected a small art gallery. I WAS AMAZED by the size and quality of this fairly new art DISTRICT!The artist, performers and organizers of the monthly First Friday Art Walk make sure you have a great time. Incredible art, fire, music, entertainers, and beer (from the round-the-corner WetFax Brewery) were my favorite parts of the event.The quality and caliber of the art was far better than I expected. This is no local community center art fair. These are welders and jewelers and sculptors and amazing people that dedicate their lives to their passions.Go. Check it out. Worst-case, you had a beer at a new brewery. ;)

An arts collective with some really great work. Changing the face of West Colfax for the better. A real treasure for our neighborhood.

Lakewood giving Santa Fe and RINO a run for their money. As time goes on it will get better and better.
