Challenged by a neighbor to buy a bike and join her riding, I found Davids World Cycle in Lakeland to have a great variety of bicycles to choose from. I was immediately met upon entering their store and explained that I had not been on a bike in about 40 years but was hoping to find something that could get me started riding again.I had already looked at a few designs online (cruiser, hybrid, comfort) and was leaning towards the cruiser. Though they didnt have an assembled one on hand, the employee assured me that they would be able to have it ready for pickup within 2-3 days. Sure enough, (and right on schedule) I received a call 2 days later and was able to pick it up the following day.The employee asked if there were any other accessories that I was interested in, which I was, and helped me choose the correct flat pack and tube for my bike. He also explained their Flat Free Program which I also enrolled in.I was out riding the following morning and have been out a couple times since with plans to get out at least 3-4 times a week.My experience at Davids World Cycle could not have been better. No pushy salesperson pushing unwanted bells and whistles. I easily give them 5 stars!!If youre looking to get into cycling, drop in their store...

Great service. We had placed an order online. When we arrived everything was ready and assembled. They greeted us quickly and got right to assisting us. We were very glad we shopped local - we got the same price as we would have to have the item shipped to our home but instead of a box of packaging and parts we got a fully assembled bike rake installed on our vehicle quickly and with friendly service. Thrilled.

First, I enjoy how I cannot change this score to anything less then a 9. When in reality this store/Davids world in general is probably the worst bike store I have visited. Secondly, I had been looking for a bike for 3 months since most places were out of stoke. They took my information and told me they would call me when a bikes came in. Walked in one day after they had just gotten a bunch of bikes in and they told me they had all been sold already. The gentleman in front of me bought the last bike they had. Okay, fine snooze you loss, but do not tell a customer you are going to do something when you are not. I had purchased a bike in the Clearwater store and was told I could take it to any Davids World to get repairs or adjustment. After a long day of trail riding took it to the store a long with my girlfriends bike and told them the chain kept popping off and tires needed to be re-balanced. The store own and the tech working on the bike were making comments which were hard to hear, but after a few seconds of looking at the bike, the tech stated, You need to buy a new sprocket and gear system on a bike that was two weeks old brand new from the store. Stated, not my problem should have bough a better bike. I will never go to a Davids World Cycle again and hopefully this information will help you in your search of a bike.

I visited this store on 04/26/21 at about 3 pm and was totally ignored. An employee passed me going out the door as I came in and I noticed another employee behind the counter talking to a customer. I browsed while he was busy and the other employee came back into the store, passed by me again and went to the back. He said nothing either time he passed me. When the customer left the counter, that employee didnt even acknowledge I was standing there, then he went toward the back behind a wall where they build bikes and repair them I guess. Another different employee came from the back and came to the register counter looking for something and I was standing right there where the display of puncture fixes are in front of the counter on the left wall. He turned and went to the back again and he also said nothing to me. I was looking right at him and he didnt even look my way. During this time there were no other customers in the store; I was the only customer there since that previous customer had left some minutes prior.A few minutes later, a couple entered the store (theres a bell that rings when the door opens) and one of the employees looked from around the back wall, came out and proceeded to pass right by me and went to assist them. I was still standing at or near the counter and of the 5 times I counted either being in front of or passed by an employee, none of them spoke to me. I was in the store 8 1/2 minutes and no one said a word to me. I hope the owner looks at the security camera footage to see that I was completely ignored by every employee that was there (I was wearing a black T-shirt and black cap). I dont get it. They have bikes that sell for thousands and no one bothered to even say hello to me. I left and went down the street to Schwinn, where I was treated as a valued customer from the instant I walked in. I would not recommend Davids to anyone.

Chris was amazing to work with and recommended the perfect saddle and I couldnt beat the price. Im definitely a customer from now on.

Everyone I spoke to was excellent, the work performed on the bike made a world of difference. I haven’t rode a bike or worked on one in over 15 years, I’m glad I went to David’s in Lakeland.

I went in for two simple requests, a valve adapter and I also asked to purchase tape end plugs for the ones I lost on my bike handlebar. They went beyond my expectations and gave me the plugs at no cost. Not that those items are expensive any way but the gesture and attitude as well as his actions were a pleasant unexpected surprise.I will recommend the store, if I being a total stranger was treated that way, thats more than just a one off......it must be they way things go at that location!!No big deal but well played!!

Chris and the gang always take good care of our bikes. Even with a shortage of parts availability due to supply chain issues, when my replacement part finally came in the guys had my Superfly fixed quickly. Ive never had issues with any repairs at Davids. Havent been able to say that about other bike shops in Lakeland.

This is an excellent shop. My Madone just turned ten years old yet these guys treated it like it was the only bike in the shop. Big thanks to Andrew who did an amazing job bringing it back to life. Thanks again!

My husband and I purchased two bikes last year amid the COVID outbreak. Because of the demand for bikes, a girls bike was not available so we purchased two boys bikes, which was fine at the time. However, within a week of our purchase, I experienced severe back pain, in no way associated with only riding the bike a couple times. I had surgery, months of recuperation and physical therapy and am just now getting back to bike riding. The boys bike was harder for me to get on and off and I was afraid of injuring myself. We went into Davids World Cycle and were able to trade my bike for a girls bike. They were so kind and understanding and I am so grateful for their exceptional service and customer care we received. They took such good care of me and I love my bike and feel so much safer. Thank you Davids World Cycle! I would highly recommend them if you are in need of bicycles for your family.

I called looking for an item that was out of stock on a bike manufacturers website and it was waiting for me at the counter when I got there. Friendly, fast and efficient service. From beginner to expert, they’ve got you covered.

What a wonderful experience at this store. This location was the only store in Florida with an in-stock Trek Verve 2 Electric Lowstep bike. We rushed over from St. Pete to Lakeland to buy it before someone else did. We arrived after the store closed at 7pm. There was Chris, waiting for us and keeping the store open for us. Everything was ready to go and he took a good 15 minutes going over the bike with us. By the time we finished up buying some additional items and paying for everything it was nearly 8pm. I assumed Chris was the owner. Much to my surprise he told me he wasnt. He helped adjust our bike rack and provided a missing strap for our rack free of charge. In our rush to leave we forgot to take the new helmet we paid for. I called Chris the next day and he said he would ship it to me in St. Pete via UPS free of charge. What a great guy and what a great business. This company went above and beyond for us!

The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I didn’t feel any high pressure to make a purchase. They had a pretty good selection considering the bike shortage that we are currently experiencing. I like the fact that you can search their inventory before actually going to the store. That’s an added plus so you don’t waste your time driving around. I was able to purchase the bike I intended to plus some added extras.

I had to drive from Orlando to get specific bike I wanted to this store. As soon as I walked, they were very helpful with what I needed as far as any additional items I needed. Very patient. Also wanted to make sure my bike fit me perfectly before I left the store and make all the adjustments. They even also helped me load up the bike in my car.

We had been here once before and had a great experience. Our stroller tire was flat and they quickly repaired it and were reasonably priced. However, today was different. We went in with the exact same problem, a flat stroller tire, and were charged $28. The cost of the tire repair was $8 and a labor fee of $20 was added for the three minutes of time it took him to fix it. This is absolutely absurd. We paid it, but we will never return.

Best. Service. Ever. The guys at the shop were super helpful and cool. They knew lots about the mountain bike lines offered and their components. They even had some great insights into the local mountain bike trails and were quick to offer suggestions that helped me get excited to purchase my new bike.

I just moved to FL from the PNW where MTB is very popular. I am use to honesty, knowledge, and fair pricing. Davids World did not meet any of those qualities. Not only was I disappointed with the lack of knowledge, customer service, and steep prices, one of the bike mechanics attempted to steal my tires. My husband called them out on it and watched the employee walk to his car to retrieve them. What an absolute disappointment.

Just want to say Cam was a great associate, very helpful, polite and he went out of his way to explain everything about the new bike to my wife and myself great experience . I haven’t received the bike yet it’s being built now will send in feedback once I get it . Guy and Bev Larose

Davids World Cycle in Lakeland Florida is one of the best bike shops around. Its all about the staff between Andrew, Cole and Chris u will have all the knowledge and advice u can dream of and the service is unprecedented. I have personally bought a few bikes from them and have been satisfied on every purchase and love their attention to detail and how they stick by there products. If u need a bike, bike accessories or just a tune up Davids is the place for you.

I was at Play it Again Sports looking for a good used bike but they were sold out of them. When I walked outside to get into my car I noticed David’s World cycle next-door. So I went into look around and was greeted by a gentleman named Andrew. I am not a professional bike rider or a weekend warrior just an average guy trying to get some exercise. Im not a guy that would spend thousands of dollars for a bike either. This is probably the most I ever paid for a bike. ($730.23) Andrew took the time to explain the advantages of purchasing this type of bike. He asked a lot of questions about how I was going to use the bike and made suggestions of things that I may need. Andrew and David’s World Cycle have got a customer for life and they earned it. you could probably buy a cheaper bike but I don’t believe you could buy a better bike or a better experience of purchasing a bike for the price I paid.Joel

I went in thinking I might need a new rim rather than upselling me they simply fixed my room in less than 5 minutes. And offered the service for free being that there was just one loose spoke. I had to buy something for that great service so I just picked up a couple tubes still they were very grateful and very helpful. Out of all the bike shops in Lakeland Id recommend stopping here first.

Decent amount of cruiser and geared bikes. They also carry Parker brand bmx bikes. If you need a tune up, thats the place to.

The Saturday crew it top notch with super class customer service. I can not speak highly enough of them. Ton of knowledge, and went the extra mile for me. I drove an hour and half from Sarasota to go there, and bought my dream bike. Thank you fellas, I will be back.

I purchased a Verve 3 ebike from Daves in Lakeland Florida. I ordered the bike over the phone. When I arrived to pick it up it was ready to go. Customer service was great. Despite the supply delay due to Covid this store had a nice supply of bikes on hand.

They are a great bunch of people. I have bought my second bike from Davids World Cycle. They take their time and explain all about bikes and answer any questions you may have. Ive had them work on bikes and have never had any issues. Currently, stock is low but they have many stores. I really like Trek bikes. They are quality bikes, maybe not too of the line, but they are well worth the money.

Dropped my bike off yesterday for a gear adjustment and told them I didnt need it until tomorrow and they said ok. I rode my other bike up to Davids today to have it serviced and to pick up my first bike, but they now informed me it would be 1 week to adjust the gears on my first bike. They only had two people working yesterday and only one today and it was steady both days. If you are that backed up and busy, couldnt you schedule more people or worst case, hire more? You could also tell the gentleman working today was frustrated, by the lack of help. This is not typical of Davids!

Very nice selection of quality bikes. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. I would have posted 5 stars however 4 of my online orders were cancelled. Why give the consumer the option to pickup the bike at a preferred location and then cancel the order because you dont want to ship it there. I ended up driving close to 4 hours round trip to pickup the 5th online order. I was willing to travel for the previous orders. This was no fault of the staff at Lakeland.

We Just bought new Trek Verve 2s, and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks to Andrew and Maddi for working with us to get the perfect fit! The people at David’s World Cycle are always so helpful. Not long ago Chris worked tirelessly to resolve a squeak in our fenders. We love this store and the people who work there!

Not going to lie, the service here was some of the best I have ever seen. There was one working named Parker Harrell who seemed to know a lot about bikes and was able to help me with all of my biker needs. The prices there are perfectly priced and I would recommend this store to everyone. The only reason I am writing this review is because of the employee Parker. He was very helpful.

Man! I was a little skeptical because I know its a local bike shop and I did not have an appointment. I made a huge mistake with constructing my daughters bike.. Yes, I do recommend Davids world cycle because they know a lot of info on trek bikes. Matt at the FL 19 highway place provided a lot of info and helped locate the bike I wanted and did a spectacular job doing it.

Always a 5 star experience! I have brought my bike to them the last two years to have it ready for Triathlon season. It ran flawlessly all of last triathlon season. My husband bought my mini electric bike to David’s for repairs. Was told I needed a new tire so we ordered one and brought it up to them. Took I think close to 2 weeks before I got it back. Tried to ride it but it wouldn’t move. The battery was not dead yet but it didn’t work. So we contacted Swagtron who made the bike. We sent it back to them. It’s been looked at and repaired thankfully but it turns out David’s World Cycle put the rear wheel on way too tight cut wires to my motor and throttle stopped the screws holding in the wheel.were stripped.was told they knew how to fix bikes Evan mine but all they ended up doing was breaking it. They sell battery powered bikes so I assume they fix them if they break isn’t that what everyone else would think? Do me a favor David’s try not to break anyone else’s bikes and retrain your employee’s.

It was done in about a hour.I thought it would cost me a bunch of money but the price to repair my bike was cheaper than I thought.Really fair prices for repair.This was my first time in there, and they were very knowledgeable.Great Bike Shop. Twice I have gone in for simple info, being a novice rider I have simple questions, sorry we all don’t speak cycling laungage and have to attempt to discribe what we are looking for. The same two times I’ve been in other Adults ready to spend money on pricey bikes are are met with condescending replys. If I was the owner I would be so mad at the money they have caused.

What can I say about this experience except that it was THE BEST purchase Ive made BECAUSE of such excellent customer service.When spending $1000 dollars you want to feel like the business appreciates you. Not only that, the level of service, greet, selection, explanation, setup of my bike, explanation of accessories, demonstration of how to ride, EVERYTHING was spot on. The salesman (Derrick?) really sold me on the value and excitement of owning a road bike and his patience with me (and my son) makes this THE BEST bike purchase Ive every experienced.

I searched for BMX Shops. This shop was in the search. They have ZERO BMX bikes.This was a waste of my time to travel to their shop. I am disappointed.

I love this place and the products. The shop itself has an amazing layout, always clean, nice upgrades by Chris, pretty handy. Andrew, Derek and Parker too, great mechanics with solid sales skills.The whole place has charisma that make so easy for you to want to hang out all day.

Updated: I had an unpleasant initial experience but they did all that they could to resolve the issue. Online you advertise one price for a jersey. $59.99, well when I show up to purchase the exact same jersey in the shop it rang up at $89.99. I don’t plan on shopping here again.Sadly, this has something to do with a computer issue that is out of their control.After being reached out to by this company they ensured that my unfortunate experience was turned into a better one by correcting the issue and ensuring that it was not a common practice.I would recommend this place.

Called before I went. Do you have a chain breaker tool for a 35 chain. Why, yes we do. Are you sure it will work on a 35 chain. Yells to someone in background. Responds: yes it will work. I get there and ask for chain breaker tool and smart ### working on a bike says this is a bike shop - we dont have anything like that. I say, Well I guess thats why I called ahead to be sure. Smart ### says, have a nice day. This is the reason people shop on Ebay and Amazon. Try to support a local business and get a smart ###.

Hands down the best customer service and products in the business. These guys are open, honest and truly care about your experience with their bikes. Every employee that works there is helpful and cares about getting you into the right bike. I bought a bike that didnt work out for me and without hesitation, they returned it and got me into a bike that works. Andrew at the Lakeland store did a fantastic job on my bike tuneup. He was very professional throughout, and was able to fix a nagging problem with my front derailleur shifter that the previous tech declined to attempt. He even followed up with a thank you note, the first time Ive received one of those!
