Such a great place to go to! My girlfriend and I had issues with our car and they were genuine with us and very helpful! Brian made everything so easy to understand and helped us through the whole process. We took our Lexus LS for a new transmission. We were not happy about having to do it. After several consultations we went to this Aamco. We were very happy with their service to us. The car had one problem after another, including a wiring harness, and The valve mechanism inside the transmission that was originally put in was defective. So they had to r replace the defective part. They did all of it for free. Without charging us more than they had promised. I’m sure they lost money on us. But they kept their word. To me this earns my business for anything in the future.

For the past 6 years we have trusted the service to our F250 Super Duty to Lakeland AAMCO. To date they have installed a starter, a clutch and pressure plate (yes it is a manual), repaired the ac system and repaired broken brake lines and replaced the brakes. Sounds like a lot of maintenance but it is a 2000 with over 250 K miles on it. We went to them the first time after two different Ford dealers replaced the starter and neither of those lasted more than 1.5 years. Ian and his team replaced the starter, for less cost than either of the first two, and it has never given us a problem. Ian and his team are the first service team that my wife has approved of in out 49 years together, she is a tough cookie to satisfy. If they can keep her truck, and it is her truck not mine, running and her happy, that is the highest praise I can give anyone or any place. They listen to her input and do not treat her like the little lady. I like the professionalism, their ability to meet stated time schedules and most of all their honesty. As long as we live in this area, AAMCO and Ian are the only ones doing any service on her truck.

Had a transmission fail that another company did. Was referred here by a friend. Ian and his guys did incredible work. Had the job done on time with the exception of calling back and saying another repair they did to the brakes wasnt to their liking so they asked for another day. Got the truck back and ran like new. Showed me the old transmission and how everything failed in detail. I liked how they double checked their work and communicated every detail. Will go back to them for every repair on my vehicles now.

10/8/2020We are in our 80s and have a 12 yr. oldHHR....The check engine light came on and it felt like the transmission was slipping....Ian wasgreat, told us to bring it in and it was pretty bad by the time we got there !! We onlyhad to wait about 10 min....He took it out anddid some tech. testing and said it couldhave had a computer glitch and it was running good and and no engine light !! Alsono charge !! We will be taking all our car problems back to Ian !! Thank you Ian and AAMCO !!

I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone. They didn’t give me an accurate diagnostic for my vehicle and made me buy parts I did not need. Went to another shop to get an ACCURATE diagnostic and needed something completely different than what they had me purchase for HUNDREDS of dollars. Now my car is having problems everyday and is basically useless. They didn’t offer to reimburse me or anything; only offered to do more “services” for more money. ALSO: Don’t let them keep your old parts, my old parts worked perfectly fine and they kept them. I am completely drained because of them.

I work in Lakeland but live in Orlando. When I left work one evening this week I noticed my coolant light was on and didnt want to risk driving all the way home. I found AAMCO of Lakeland right around the time they were closing for the day. I called them up to see if I could get my car in before they closed and they said come on down. I cannot say enough about their honesty, compassion, and helpfulness. The gentlemen who checked my car in asked the normal questions (car make and model and year) and what was wrong. After telling him he went out of his way to help me figure out if the car was still under warranty with the dealership and it was!! They couldve very easily ripped me off as I didnt have any idea the car was still under warranty but instead they were honest and that goes a long way. The overall experience was just amazing and I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a honest mechanic who will not take advantage of you this is the place to go. Their customer service went above and beyond. Thank you AAMCO of Lakeland for leaving a lasting impression.

The owner Ian runs the place. It may not be a fancy location but they take care of the customer. I had my trans rebuilt and two weeks later it started to fail. I drove it straight to Aamco and it was ready to lock up. Ian said it might be a week because they were so backed up. I had to go back the next morning to get my tools but Ian called me first thing and said they already had the transmission out and it would be ready that afternoon.It was done that day. Ian said he knew I needed the van for my job and decided to put me ahead of everyone else. I believe they do there best for the customers.

Highly recommend Ian and his staff. I checked the reviews and took my van to Ian. I had my transmission rebuilt 1 1/2 years ago by an individual and it was suppose to last me 100,000 plus but he gave no guarantee. Not happy when I found that out. Ian showed me the things that werent changed and a torque converter that wasnt a heavy duty one I paid an extra $600 for but a standard rebuilt one. Ian replaced everything that was needed for a proper rebuild. Im not unfamiliar with cars as I used to rebuild them when I was younger, so I knew Ian wasnt telling me something that wasnt true.Ian got it done in 3 days as opposed to three weeks by the former guy. Unfortunately, the trans went out two weeks later. I drove it over to Aamco straight from work because I knew it wouldnt make it if I went home first. Ian jumped right in and before we got out of his lot he knew there was a big problem. He said they were booked up and it would be a week before he could get to it. He offered his van to unload my stuff to take home, that was last night. I was going to go over this morning to move out my stuff, tools and equipment I needed for my work. Ian called before I went this morning and said he already had the trans out because he saw how much stuff was in the van and knew I needed my van for work and he had it DONE THIS AFTERNOON. He also fixed an exhaust leak at no charge.So, if you want a fancy modern show room and a working bay floor you can eat off of, this is not the place for you. But if you want an honest professional and someone who is personally involved in his business and gets the job done, GO SEE IAN.

I took my car there yesterday and was supposed to have the transmission pan drop to see if there was like any type of shavings or anything in there and of course you know It was going to cost me $100 which was fine well I got there they never drop the transmission pan and still charged me $100. When I asked about it they said they checked the fluid. I ended up taking my car to another transmission shop which also has a 5-star rating.

I was under the impression that since it is an AAMCO and they always advertise great customer service that I would be willing to pay a little extra for better service. WRONG! The gentleman who I would assume was the manager running the front desk was a total jerk. I came in with the owner of the dealership i bought a vehicle from to get some transmission work done on my Impala. The man was contradicting everything we said. Would not let us finish speaking, constantly interrupting us. Let alone he made an insult about my vehicle. Honest this guy doesn’t need to be representing AAMCO! There are plenty of better candidates available to replace such a rude employee let alone MANAGER! Lost yourselves a $2000+ sale simply because of extremely poor customer service. Dealer manager and i both walked out with the same expression. WTH?!

Took longer than told, by three weeks. Broke several bolts holding Coil on Packs, and couldnt reassemble exhaust manifold to exhaust properly. Had to have it repaired twice in less than 8 months. Their response was it is because the exhaust manifold doesnt match the the exhaust ports and the engine needs to have the heads and exhaust taken back off and machined so they fit. This after over a year of exhaust leaks.

I’m highly disappointed with info provided by Ian and Norman re: clutch assessment. They were deceptive and added fluid without informing me which allowed the car to function. Instead they quoted an exorbitant amount for parts that I didn’t need. They’re labor and parts exceeded Nissan and they told me I was getting a deal. Many mechanic establishments take advantage of women and or those not knowledgeable of deceptive behavior. Thank God I’m protected from such vile practices. I will not ever recommend.

I never thought I would be able to say this but I finally found an honest reliable and trustworthy mechanic and automotive repair shop in AAMCO Lakeland.The lead mechanic there, Jason worked on my car every step of the way and let me know what needed to be done and why.We ended up needing a replacement engine for my 1989 Cadillac Eldorado and they located one, installed it and car has run great ever since.Thanks for the great service and dedication to ensuring my car was repaired right the first time!I will be taking my car there in the future and would definitely recommend this repair shop to anyone who wants their vehicle fixed right and an honest and upfront group who runs this shop.Sincerely,John

We have had great service here on 3 different visits. They were honest and worked hard to get our cars fixed for the best price. We arrived in town with a leaking minivan and many repairs needed on our Subaru. They did it all for us. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a bit of a pain.

Took my car to them to diagnose my transmission they had it for 30 minutes and gave me a laundry list of problems, given how short of a time they had it I decided to take it elsewhere. This mechanic did a thorough check and told me that i had different issues that aamco didnt even tell me about. If I had aamco repair my vehicle they wouldve called me and my bill wouldve been double. They are only there to rip you off.

I have only had the BEST experiences with this business!!! Ian and Charlie take very, very good care of my vehicle - which has needed a lot of work. Recently, I had an urgent repair come up on my car. I took it to a different shop, closer to my home. They quoted me $1400 to for the repair and charged me $75 for a diagnosis. The next day, I brought my car to Aamco where Charlie and technicians Jason and Junior fixed the problem COMPLETELY for less than $150. They are HONEST, trustworthy and thorough. I will never take my car to another auto mechanic. They treat me like a friend, and theyve earned my trust and my business.

Had a ball joint snap and I live pretty far away. These guys got on my truck quick so I wasnt stuck in Lakeland. This kind of customer service is real hard to find anymore. These guys are rock stars !!!!

Place was great, I was stuck in florida with a damaged car, they did a check told me what was wrong and fixed the car in 3 days even though they had to wait for insurance people who dragged there feet, they got me going quickly so I could get home and did a great job. Murray at the front was awesome and helped me all the way through the process and after, Great place to go honest and got the job done right.

I cant express how helpful this AAMCO location was!!! I needed some back maintenance done to get my car all set for the long drive back home (2,500 miles!) And Lisa and her staff were absolutely fantastic! With the last minute work needing to be done, thwy got all my parts ordered and delivered withing a matter of hours, and busted their ass to get me up and going. Not only that, but Lisas hospitality made made me relaxed and comfortable while I waited. These were truly the best group of people that Ive ever done business with. Having spent a year with several mechanics attempting to repair a leaking transmission, I went to AAMCO.They discovered that incorrect axles installed by the first mechanic was the source of the problem.AAMCO replaced the axles and associated parts damaged by the incorrect axles and solved the problem.Since then I have had unrelated repairs accomplished at AAMCO with 100% satisfaction.There motto of completely analyzing the source of a problem before jumping to a conclusion, could have saved me a great deal of expense.

Absolutly terrible having my transmission redone here. I wish I had just traded my car in for the cost. The final price was more than $1000 over my quote. The owners son knew that I would need the car back before leaving for my cross country Vacation. He promised it would be done in time. He should have said that it probably couldnt be done in that time frame. Then I would not have gone ahead with the rebuild. When it came time to leave for my vacation 2 days after the original completion date, it still was not done. I had to rent a compact car for $500 to drive 15+ hours each way. The transmission failed less than a year later, at less than 100 miles over the warrantied mileage. When I went in to have it addressed Lakeland AMMCO lied and blamed the problem on other parts in my car. I took my car to a DIFFERENT AMMCO and had it rebuilt free of charge by corporate. It was the transmission that failed not the other things they suggested. Lakeland AMMCO is the worst most unhelpful company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and I caution anyone to find anywhere else to take your car than here.

Number 1. Every time (3x) my wife and I have taken Our automobiles to Aramco for A Transmission diagnostic. Well It always seems they give the same answer to the cause of Our problem. (The Bands Are Burned Out & The Gears Are Worn-out & Its Gonna Cost You Anywhere Between $2,100 to $2,500. Best Estimated Guess..)... We took aChevy 4 Door Sedan, A Chevy S-10, and A GMC Jimmy to AAMCO in Mid Lakeland Fl. and knew what was wrong before we dropped the Vehicles for A diagnosis and price quote.To make this Long Story shorter..The diagnostic was Very Much the same. With the Same Price Quote.So Yeah! Watch Out for Yourselfs.Because Double A. M. C. O. On Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland Florida is wanting to change your burn bans and 1 gears in your transmission for a price that ranges from $2,100 to $2,400.

Bought a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer for my Fiancee from Drive Time, the warranty insurance company referred me to this place. This place seemed really shady to me and the customer service was awful. I call for an appointment at the guy was really nice and set me up for a noon appointment. I went in and on time and the guy asked if we would be able to leave the car. I asked why he said that noon isnt a good time to come in because it was lunch time and he was going to filter employees in and out and it would take a while. He had look on his face like I was rude for coming in at the time he told me to come in. Then I asked if he could check the a/c aswell and he just look at me as if I were crazy. Once I checked in the car they took the keys and drove it to the garage. After ten minutes the guy came back with a list of pricey things that needed to be done and minimum price of 1600 just to start with a list if possible extras. My car drives drives smoothly without any problems so how do have so many issues? Plus this guy was super pushy about getting started and for us to leave the car there. I am defenetly getting a second opinion.

Worse experience for vehicle repair! Under this AAMCO Lakelands supervision, leave your vehicle at your own risk! They dont take responsibility.The shop was not responsible for further damage on our vehicle caused by them. They did transmission repair but also let the pest in our vehicle and chewed off our leather seats leaving long trails of pest feces. They denied to assisted and refused that they did not do it.

Customer service is AWFUL!! I went in around June to this place to get my car serviced (thinking since its a name brand mechanic itll be done right) well I was very wrong. First off they had my car for over a month!!! So I had no transportation and then I received my car back July 14 and not even two months later having the same issues I originally brought it in for. The manager told me that because it now starts but still wont accelerate they took care of the original issue. The manager of this shop also told me well obviously you do not know much about cars (RUDE). And after I paid $2,300 to fix this problem he refuses to fix it again because as he says it starts!! Take your money elsewhere, you arent treated as a customer here. This was my third time using them and every time I leave unsatisfied.

Me and my mom have been coming here for the past year, possibly more. This is without question, the most honest place that we have every delt with in our history of mechanical repair toward our buick century 2000. They really take care of their customers and in doing so have created customers for life and will never go anywhere else when it comes to repair. Mind you my car is in the shop for some minor damages that I incurred while driving ok I hit an alligator for crying out loud lol but through it all they work with me on making payments while my car sits without a problem at their shop. Also would like to give a Shot out to Ian Son as well as Ian himself, I believe hes new to the location but not to the business. Hes very welcoming and honest as is all, and Great Hospitality skills.
