I am so happy I found Aphrodite Designs to handle the alterations on my wedding dress!I found my dream dress at Calvet Couture in Winter Park. I’d traveled there for a Hayley Paige trunk show with high hopes that one of her brand-new dresses would be “the one.” Instead, I ended up falling in love with Hayley Paige’s “Rogers” gown, an older style that the shop was selling a sample of.The sample was 3 to 4 sizes too big for me, so purchasing it was admittedly a big risk and I knew I’d need to find an incredible seamstress to make the proper adjustments. But it was my dream dress, so I took the chance!I feel so lucky I found Maria and Aphrodite Designs to save the day. My dress was a ball gown with several layers of tulle, delicate lace bell sleeves, and lots of hand-beaded appliqués and sequins. The top part of the bodice would have to cut and resized. But Maria never gave me any doubt she could get the job done. We had three fitting appointments from October to December, and she listened attentively to all of my requests. She was so sweet to me and my mom, and truly just a pleasure to work with.My dress was perfect on the day of, and you never would have known there was a time it didn’t fit me.I feel like seamstresses are one of those unsung vendors that don’t get as much credit as your big ticket vendors like a caterer or a florist. But Maria was truly one of the best people I hired, and I can’t imagine my day being as perfect as it was without her contributions.

Absolutely would recommend! My wedding dress needed to be completely redone because it was my mother’s. The dress came out beautiful and Maria, seamstress and owner was great to work with! She was professional, listened to my vision, and affordable. She made my mother’s 90’s ball gown wedding dress into a sleek and elegant dress!

Maria does not play! The quality of her work is the best out there and her prices are unbeatable. I needed some work done for my Halloween costume and have been procrastinating on it for almost 3 weeks. I didnt think Id find someone who could get it done on time, but I was blessed with finding this spot. She was sweet and welcoming when I walked in; I explained the issue, and she was able to resolve it in seconds! With that level of expertise, I can assure you she works efficiently and manages her time well. Id recommend her to anyone and will definitely be coming back for all of my tailoring needs!

I brought my bridesmaid dress to Maria which was about 4 sizes too big. First Maria is just a pleasure to work with and incredibly knowledgeable. The dress fit perfect and she basically had to take it apart and put it back together again. The result was amazing and the price was on point with the alterations she did. I will use her for all of my alterations in the future. Maria seems to really care about doing quality work and providing excellent customer service. I cant think of any negatives.

Needed a few patches sewn onto some shirts spur of the moment. Was able to have them done right away and while I waited. Very inexpensive and came out perfect. Would definitely use again!

I brought my wedding dress here. It turned out great! I had the train removed and my halter ties removed and made into a band. My total price was $115 plus tax. Ive been charged $75 just to have a dress hemmed at other places in the area. I wasnt in a rush to pick up my dress but it was done in 2 weeks. I will definitely come back here.

Maria did a great job with my wedding dress! I bought it online from a lady in Turkey who had my measurements and yet still sent me something that was very big, Maria was able to fix it. So grateful!!

I purchased my wedding dress online without trying it on. Despite giving them customer measurements, it still came in way too big. Maria did a fabulous job bringing in the sides of my dress, shortening the straps and hemming it. She has a great attention for detail, and was very reasonably priced. I would definitely use her again for any future alterations.

I trust her work only! I have tried several alteration businesses from Jupiter to Lake Worth and many of them ruined my clothes or just simply did a bad job. I never had any problem here, she is very good with high end clothing and responsible in every way. She is very honest too, if she thinks some change to a garment wont look right, she tells me, so I usually dont do it, save me money and headache. I definitely recommend her for Palm Beach quality clothing, including Chanel!

This place is fantastic!! I went through so many reviews for other places to find the best alterations shop to resize my prom dress and Aphrodite Designs was the only place I found without a negative experience in the reviews. Theres a reason for that. For one, her prices are such a steal for the quality of work. Second, she is so friendly and sweet. 10/10 would be friends with her. Thirdly, my dress, it fits perfectly now. I had a two layer gown which she took in one size smaller for me. When I came back in to pick it up (a week later, double bonus), it fit just like how I wanted it. Im so excited for prom now. ❤

Maria was amazing! I bought a wedding dress that was probably 2 sizes too big and had 2 and 1/2 weeks to get the alterations done before the wedding. Not only did Maria have it ready for an extra fitting one week after my initial visit, but it didnt need any additional adjustments and she kept the integrity of the dress! Pricing is reasonable and she was very meticulous and took her time with measuring me. Her work resulted in the wedding dress of my dreams and fit perfect for my body!

I brought a dress for my daughter for prom which was a little too long. I went online and found Aphrodite designs and took the dress to her yesterday, Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Got it back for prom today (Thursday, March 16, 2017) just in time for prom to night. She did an excellent job. Would recommend her to anyone. Alterations were done prefectly.

Elena Kaplan is an extremely talented and creative woman.I first went to her to have some pants and dresses altered about 8 months ago.I had recently moved to West Palm Beach from Sarasota.Actually one of my sons looked her up online and thought she was the person for me.How right he was.Elena is precise in her alterations and she designs just charming clothes.Elena made up a little smock for my friends two year old girl and it is just beautiful.If you desire expert tailoring and need a special outfit to be designed for you Elena is the woman to see.

She took the time to figure out a way to bustle the dress so that I could dance and it ended up looking even more beautiful bustled than it did down!!! I had a brides maid dress that was literally 4-5 sizes TOO SMALL! My mom found Maria online and I just went there and pleaded my case after being turned away from 4 other tailors. Maria worked magic! Not only did she do a beautiful and incredible job but her price was so fair! She doesnt rip you off or make you feel uncomfortable (which happens to me pretty easily when it comes to trying on clothes that dont fit) Maria is the best!!!!!

I would definitely recommend! I recently moved from NY to WPB and Im pretty much starting from scratching looking for tailors/nail salon/etc. I came here with a rush job and she finished it not only in time but perfectly! I fell in love with my dress all over again because of her!

I was pretty new to getting shirts tailored but the job and how my shirt ended up wasnt good quality work. I had to return it after a day and request that she fix up things because they were left looking badly. Well, now after probably 4-5 wears of my shirt in a span of maybe two months, threads are coming apart (originally a concern of mine because of the way the thread ends looked, she said that was normal) so yeah, have to go find someone new to repair the mistakes and hope they can fix my shirt. Not worth the amount of money I put on the shirt for it to be requiring repairs already (technically needing repairs since the first day I picked it up).

I came in with an urgent alteration and Maria accommodated my schedule to make sure it was done on time. Great alterations on sensitive fabrics! Will be coming back!

Not sure why there are any good reviews for this tailor. My pants were hemmed, and one leg is significantly longer than the other, and now I have one longer leg/cropped flare jeans. $145 jeans ruined. I wouldn’t even go back to have her fix it. I’d find another place to trust with your clothes.

OMG. I stopped by this store just by chance looking for immediate assistance in having a few dresses altered for work. I was visiting from Great Guana Cay, Abaco, Bahamas and she accommodated me in such a short space of time. She was very professional and the results made my store bought dresses look tailor made. I have been trusting Maria ever since. Whenever I visit Palm Beach I just buy and bring whatever I need altered. She is the best and Ive tried 3 other persons in her stores location already before finding her. Shes definitely worth the try.
