The Sensei, Jason, is phenomenal. He is natural skilled at interacting with children. He helped our son learn hard work, discipline, exercise, and honor. For that, we are exceedingly grateful to Jason.Ultimately, while our son learned a great deal from an exceptional instructor, he has decided that hes not as interested in Karate as he initially thought. My sons lack of interest in no way reflects the quality of the dojo. During the early days of the Coronavirus Pandemic, Jason was quick to implement classes over webcams to ensure that his students maintained consistency in their martial arts instruction.Truly, I cannot say enough good about Jason and the California Shito-Ryu Karate School. I highly recommend this institution for anyone who is serious about high-quality instruction in the Karate martial art.

Ive attended classes as an adult and, more recently, my son has attended and has had an awesome experience working his way up to brown belt. It takes a lot of patience to teach younger kids the discipline of martial arts and Jason is able to make the class fun and enjoyable while still instilling work ethic and responsible behavior and teaching proper technique and form. I would definitely recommend classes for any age from 4 to adult.

California Shitoryu Karate is the BEST Karate Dojo. Sensei Jason teaches every single student with great passion. My daughter joined the dojo for about 5 years and unfortunately we have to move to OC. She really miss the dojo.

This is a high quality Dojo with a superb instructor. I have had twenty years of teaching experience at the university level and have done a fair amount of teacher training, and one of the hardest aspects of teaching children or young adults is being able to balance rigor with play. Sensei Jason does a fine job in this regard.My son was enrolled for two years in his program, and I saw a distinct improvement in his stances, kicks, punches, and overall kinesthetic fluency. This is also due to the sorts of corrections that Sensei begins offering with young children and increases in the young adult/adult classes that I have observed. Perfecting fundamental movements is so important for a clear progression in most areas of endeavor, but this is especially true with karate. A weak cat stance or forward stance will lead to a weak series of katas. So, Sensei Jason prods kids to do their best--in a kind, fatherly way--without being overbearing.Indeed, it was only after enrolling my son at California Shitoryu Karate that I found out that Sensei Jason is a world champion in stick fighting!Overall, I have been very pleased with this Dojo; recently, my family had to move away due to work-related concerns, and this Dojo will be one of the things that we will miss about the area.I highly recommend this Dojo.Dr. Lash Vance

My son has been going here for more than 9 years and has become very fit and confident in himself. As a family we always have a good time watching the classes and tests and we enjoy the annual picnics very much because everyone at the dojo from the little ninjas to the adults are like a second family, and Im sure it will continue to grow. It is very easy to see a real connection between Sensei Jason and his students but also the parents. I have always admired the professionalism of the dojo and can not think of a better place for my son to be at. Its absolutely amazing and would recommend to anyone and everyone, 100% :)

Best Karate Dojo!!!My son has been going here for over two years now and has learned a lot about karate and about responsibility, respect, community service, leadership, and so much more. I cannot say enough good things about Sensei Jason Stanley. He is excellent with children. Your kids will learn so much here and will be much better taught in karate and life. I honestly have not been to another dojo, but cannot imagine a better one. By the way -the stick fighting/eskrima class is excellent and i highly recommend it for its real life practical purposes.
