Really nice place with a friendly owner.
Our 6 year old son has been a student at RMKF for about a year and a half, when he joined a friend to try it out. We didnt know if he was going to be into martial arts, but he has been dedicated to Kung Fu since the first class he took. Im impressed by the focus and coordination even the little kids demonstrate in practice. They learn age-appropriate skills and philosophy that impacts many aspects of their lives.Master Beau and Master Dana are wonderful people who run their studio in a very professional manner, and treat students of all ages with patience and respect. Beau, whose class our son is in twice weekly, has become an important figure in his life as an adult outside his family who sets a good example. Also, I appreciate the sort of closed currency system kids can participate in. Polished glass stones, called practice pebbles, are given when a kid demonstrates that hes practiced or honed a skill in class, or maybe for giving a correct answer to a hard or philosophical question - like extra credit. Once enough practice pebbles are earned, they can be traded back to the studio for trinkets. You can only buy the trinkets with practice pebbles, and you can only earn practice pebbles by showing your effort and progress. Kids are motivated to earn and save, but its more about setting and reaching a goal than it is about money. I believe the program builds confidence and teaches good physical skills as well as life lessons. And its lots of fun!
Our son has been a student at Rocky Mountain Kung Fu for many years. In that time, weve seen him improve his hand-eye coordination and fitness, grow in confidence, and gain skills for self-defense. He loves the balance of serious training and fun, martial arts and games, that Master Beau provides. We highly recommend Rocky Mountain Kung Fu!
Great place, great training! Beau is a professional and experienced master of his art. It is a great place for children and adults to learn and thrive.
We have had the most amazing time at this dojo! Master Beau and Elizabeth are so fun and thoughtful with everything thing they do. I was so elated to see that this Kung Fu space is more about creating inner zen and self mastery vs. competition with others. It is very much a dojo build in support of one another and friendship. We are so glad our family has joined the RMKF family. From summer camps to Kung Fu training. We absolutely are thrilled with our experience here.
Rocky Mountain Kung Fu is a wonderful place for kids to learn kung fu in a safe, calm, nurturing environment. Master Beau is exceptionally patient and thoughtful in his approach to teaching kids of all ages and clearly employs a holistic approach to teaching children this ancient martial art. In addition to learning to master various forms and techniques, children are taught various philosophies that they can apply to both their training and real-life. This is not one of those super intense, belt-oriented martial arts schools. Instead, it is a place where kids learn and grow at their own pace and are supported and encouraged continuously. Our child has grown in confidence and ability throughout his time there. I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Kung Fu!
My son Will has been at Rocky Mtn Kung Fu for about five years now. He loves going to every class and camp! He learns good values, skills, the importance of practice, respect and discipline. Beau also has a great way of mixing in a good amount of fun which we love! Will is now a junior black belt, has made some good friends and has gained much confidence in his physical abilities. Thank you RMKF!
Nothing but a wonderful place to learn, grow and train. Dana and Beau are amazing people and even better teachers. Keep it rolling guys! Thanks for supporting our community the way you do. Eric
Rocky Mountain Kung Fu is an absolute gem! Ive been a student here since 2009. The master teacher, Beau Bourdon, is knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and welcoming. His classes always have spirit of fun and humor. Highly recommended.
We celebrated my son’s bday at Rocky Mountain kungfu today and we just can’t say enough about Beau’s professionalism, humor, warmth, patience and skill set in working with a variety of kids ages. He was playful, creative and dedicated in making sure the kids were safe, followed the rules but also had fun. Thank you!!!! We will recommend you for future bday bashes and will need to check out Ninja night one of these days.
Beau is a really wonderful instructor, and my sons love his class. Prior to joining Rocky Mountain Kung Fu, my younger son did a MMA class. So different! That was a lot more pressure, and each class felt like a training drill. When we moved to RMKF, it was such a positive change. A lot of Beaus class feels much more like play but play that teaches and reinforces Kung Fu techniques. Our sons look forward to it every week.I also appreciate the atmosphere and culture of RMKF. It is a peaceful atmosphere that exudes respect and kindness for everyone there. I feel like Beau knows and cares about our family, including our other two sons who arent currently taking classes there. There is a nice sense of community.
