DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIKE HERE. We took our bike in a MONTH ago and it still isn’t fixed. We would call before pick up, and the guy kept saying another day. Now, we go by there every day to pick it up and he is never there. Our bike just needed a simple repair.

This place is almost like a black hole. You can take your bike in, but you may never see it again. I waited for the owner to get parts for my bike…. And waited and waited. After 6 weeks he said there are supply issues and maybe I could dig through a used parts box at a shop in Boulder. I went home, figured out. What I needed, watched some you tube and had new parts ordered and installed within a week. The owner clearly never even tried. I do thank him for forcing me to learn bike maintenance and repair, as I’ll not need to rely on him again. If you have time and don’t actually want anything fixed, Foxtrot is the place for you.

Waste of time. Business hours dont reflect actual business hours posted.. most of the time theres a piece of paper on the door with adjusted hours. Open sign in the window as far as I can tell, stays off all of the time and the closed sign in the adjacent window never moves, as though its always closed. Ive tried to give them my business 4 times in the past 2 weeks, each time during business hours only to find nobody at the store. Like all the other 1 star reviews for this place, youre better off going someplace more professional.

Id like to give it no stars. This place is a joke. Dropped off my skis to get new bindings mounted. Guy had them for over a month. Never answers the phone went in three times to get them back they were not done. So finally I said Im not leaving until you do this he proceeded to mount my bindings hand me my skis I left. Only to find out that he drilled through my skis!! Do not go here under any circumstances!!

I left my splitboard for a tune before Christmas, and its January 5. They were closed during their regular hours when I first went for pickup. They were closed over the holidays (reasonable). Every time I have returned to pick up my board (Im sitting in the car on the FIFTH attempt writing this), they are closed. Every time I come, there is a new sign on the door saying they will be closed for the next few days. (Saturday afternoon there was a sign saying they would be closed until Tuesday. They closed early Tuesday. Today there is a sign saying they are closed until midday on Thursday). I do not feel comfortable using this shop for work ever again, and I feel like my board has been stolen.

Warning do not use if you want good customer service or your equipment returned in a timely manner. I dropped my skis off on a Tuesday and told the guy I would need them back in a couple days because I had a trip planned for the following Monday. Guy said no problem that they usually take 24 hours. No call the next day so I try and call on Thursday. Answering machine full. Drive up there and they are closed at 11 am on New Years Eve and of course New Year’s Day. Sign in windows says will open on Friday. I call (full again) and drive up again on Friday. Sign in window now says closed till noon Saturday. I drive up on Saturday and now there is a sign that say closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I guess my only option is to rent skis on my trip. Don’t use these guys. The little money you save will cost you big in the long run.

Never pick up their phone and VM is full. I dropped off 2 pairs of skis, one pair to have bindings mounted, and a snowboard all to be tuned. I was told they’d all be ready for pick up 3 days later. I called many times to check status but THEY NEVER PICK UP. I went in 1 week later to find my gear in the same place I left them.....untouched. Obviously, I won’t be back.

Dropped off a bike to have the brakes fixed. They said they would call us in a few days when finished. Three months later, no calls or updates. Went to the shop to check on it- it was sitting in the corner and nothing had been done. We took the bike and left.

Ive had good experiences in the past, such as the time Foxtrot sold me a used wheel with a good tire on it for less than the average cost of a tire alone, as well as when I bought a tire pump that cost a bit more than the local outdoor shops but was (is) much better designed.Today, I brought in an ailing bike for a friend. Its derailleur wasnt working. The shop owner (pretty sure hes the owner) explained briefly how to fix it and sent me on my way; an hour later the bike was shifting like new.

Like the last two people posted - the owner does not respond to calls and is unprofessional. The hours are not real and the shop is closed when he says it will be open. If you want your bike back in any time frame, take it elsewhere.

I left a wheel to repair a broken spoke a month ago. I have been trying to pick it up for two weeks now. No responding to calls and emails. A sign is posted Closed to an Emergency. Sometimes it is Today closed reopening Tuesday. Very unprofessional, worst experience with bike shops in the area. After a month, I finally found the shop open. The wheel was not fixed yet! Unbelievable, never again!

Easily the worst experience Ive ever had with a bike shop. I called to make sure they had capacity to tune-up a couple of my bikes with a reasonable turnaround time. I was told that if no special-order parts were needed he could have them ready in the next day or two. I brought in the bikes and the shop was totally cluttered and overflowing with bikes. They appeared to have a major backup so I asked again to confirm and was reassured that they could have the bikes ready in a couple of days. A week later I hadnt heard so I called to check in. The man said they hadnt gotten to it yet but it will definitely be ready before the next weekend. The next weekend I called again and they still hadnt gotten to the bikes but promised by the end of the weekend. Finally, after two weeks I called to check on the bikes and they had STILL not gotten to them but they guaranteed that they would be completed that night and I could come in to pick them up the next day. I came in the following day to find my two bikes untouched and in the same place I left them. I was tired of being lied to about when the bikes would be completed so I decided to just take them home. The shop offered me free tunes for the two bikes but I dont have any confidence that they could do the job in a reasonable amount of time. A long turnaround is fine, things happen. Consistently being lied to about the progress is not acceptable. Poorly managed shop with no apparent system in place to organize their operations.

I dropped off my bike for a tune up and tire replacement and they said it would be ready in a week. Sounded good and they seemed professional so I was willing to pay the high price they charge. I stopped by 2 weeks later and they still had not started service. No problem, Ill come back later.2 weeks after I had last stopped by and they still hadnt started service and admitted to forgetting about it. I just took my bike and left. I would not recommend this place. Yes, they appear to be cordial and nice (as any business owner should be) but they have an air or actitud of I know it all and me a s a customer should just shut up and listen. Their prices are extremely high, even for small little parts. Many of their items are over 500% markup compared to shops not very far from them and their inventory is mediocre to say the least. Would never return there nor will ever recommend to anybody.

Lafayettes best kept secret:Dana, Timothy, & the business are the best full setvice bike/snow gear mechanics (all year). Best spot to rent board, Bike, or service winter, spring, summer or fall...Please support their business, they are one of Boulder Countys best! And much cheaper than Jax or elsewhere for bicycle or winter time equipment service... Further, one can sell used bike here or rent a fat tire mountain bike here. Hope to do that soon personally. Please wear a helmet and share our roads, thanks.

I had been going there for several years for ski and snowboard tuning, and they had always been great in the past, but I think theyve oversaturated with business and cant keep up. I dropped off a pair of skis and a snowboard off there a couple weeks ago and was told they were 4-5 days out. I show up to pick them up 9 business days later and they were not even close to getting to them done; they were on bottom of pyle. The unfortunate part for me is I was headed up to the mountains the following day, so now I have to find time to tune them myself. They now say they are 3 weeks out, so looks like I will need to find another shop to take my business to.

Nice to have a local bike shop in Lafayette. Needed some help tuning up hydraulic disc brakes on my mountain bike, and they did a nice job. Also got my chain fixed. Got my skis tuned for the start of the season. $45 for a full service grind, edge and wax. It appeared that they just ran an iron to smooth out the wax and some poor attempt was made at sharpening. When I get up to the mountain I realized there was no edge at all. When I took it too the resort shop he said it looked like someone had ground it completely wrong and it was round instead of an edge. This place is an absolute joke, never leave your skis or board with these people.

Was recommended by Jax personnel, as they didnt have the removal tool for my other freewheel.Biked up here and asked if I could ask a favor as mentioned. Matthew said yes. No sign posted and he didnt mention that a service fee was charged. After he was done, he lost a bearing, and told me $4. He belligerently gave me a bearing. I said Jax & Performance do many of these things free.He went on about use of tools, his time, small business, I have worked for corporate and independents.Unacceptable attitude and customer service. He didnt want to answer any questions as to the owner, and said he was done.Previous time was very pleasant, not this time.

The great reviews steered me here, so I thought that I would add some info myself.I just stopped in to buy a couple of sets of disc brake pads and maybe chat a little. Thats what bike shops are for, right? I should have priced the pads online ahead of time, because I was seriously dooped. I purchased Shimano G02as for $22.95/set. Theyre all over the Internet for $8/set. Thats what I get for buying/supporting local.Hey, at least the chit-chat makes up for some of the lost funds, right? Wrong. Dudes says, if the pads dont fit, just bring them back. In the mean time, my bikes are 15 feet from him, in clear vision outside. Why wouldnt you look at my bikes and tell me whether or not they fit before I drive all the way home? After all, I need some value to justify overpaying for my pads by $30. I was clearly an interruption to the other tasks present in this dudes life. My apologies bro, it wont happen again. If youre not passionate about what you do, then do something else.-EDIT: I returned the pads! Yayy! But not before being hassled to see the receipt (which he later told me was not actually necessary - simply made his job easier).
